THE RAVENSBRUCK RABBITS: Brilliant Secretly-Coded Letters Written By Four Concentration Camp Inmates To Tell the World About Horrific Nazi Medical Experiments During WWII

How 4 fearless young women exposed horrific medical experiments in the Ravensbruck Nazi concentration camp in coded letters using urine as invisible ink.

NOW THE END BEGINS SHARE:

The 27 letters were hidden for decades. Stuffed into furniture in the home of Krystyna Czyz, they were found by her daughter only in 2010. All were written by Czyz and sent to her parents from the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Germany.

There are many amazing stories of survival when we read about Hitler’s Holocaust in WWII, stories of astounding courage, bravery and defiance in the face of stupefyingly overwhelming odds. The four women who risked their lives to warn the world of Nazi atrocities is such a story.

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9 (KJV)

From a bible prophecy perspective, many of the events orchestrated by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis is an excellent type picture of how Antichrist will rule the world when he comes on the scene in the days after the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church. Krystyna Czyz and her fellow ‘Ravensbruck Rabbits’ give us a wonderful illustration of the Tribulation Saints during the time of Jacob’s trouble as they defy the forces of Antichrist.

The heroic tale of young Ravensbrück inmates whose coded messages to their families were no less than genius

FROM HAARETZ: All the letters contained secret, coded messages that were added to the text by way of a simple but clever method: writing with urine. With courage and daring, a small group of inmates managed to send out reports about the crimes being perpetrated in the camp, particularly the medical experiments carried out on them.

Their underground activity not only got the information out in real time – after the war it was used as testimony in the trials of the officers and physicians who had abused them. The letters, with their secret messages, have been on display since 2017 in a Lublin museum. But who are the women behind the letters? Interviews given by the former inmates, coupled with information from Polish archives, shed light on their resourcefulness, methods of operation and sheer audacity.

Krystyna Czyz was one of the women imprisoned in Ravensbrück who filtered out details of the experiments in coded letters during the Second World War

Krystyna Czyz was only 15 when she decided for the first time to resist the Nazi occupation regime, immediately after the Germans invaded Lublin, her hometown in September 1939. Her parents joined a clandestine cell that provided classes for children whose schools had been shut down, while their daughter served as a communications officer and lookout in the Polish underground. Czyz was arrested in 1941, and after half a year of Gestapo interrogations and torture she was deported, along with other adolescents and women from the underground, to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she was forced to wear the inverted red-triangle patch denoting her status as a political prisoner.

The Ravensbruck ‘Rabbits’

Tens of thousands of women – Germans, Jews, members of the resistance, Gypsies – were incarcerated in the camp, situated north of Berlin. Most of them were ultimately murdered. In the summer of 1942, SS physicians began to conduct medical experiments on them under the direction of Karl Gebhardt, who had the distinction of being the personal physician of SS head Heinrich Himmler. The victims included at least 74 young Polish women, most of them members of the underground. Their legs were gashed with pieces of glass and wood, and bacteria were introduced into the wounds. The ostensible aim of the experiments was to test potential infection-fighting medications. The Germans termed the victims “rabbits.” Czyz and her friends Wanda Wijtasik, Janina Iwaska and Janina’s little sister Krystyna were among them. The physical damage inflicted on them made even the thought of escape pointless.

In January 1943, after months of brutal experiments, Czyz, now 20, and her friends decided to rebel – by reporting secretly about the experiments to the Polish underground. By this means, they thought, the reports would be conveyed to the Polish government in exile, the International Red Cross and foreign governments, and the horrific crimes being committed by the doctors in the camp would be revealed to the world.

The Question Was How To Get The Information Out Of The Camp

Their only form of communication with the outside world was the one letter each inmate was permitted to write to her family once a month. The letter had to be written in German, its content limited to a report about their supposedly good situation, and it was subject to SS censorship. Anyone who deviated from the restrictions risked death. One member of the group suggested bribing the camp’s female guards or administrative personnel to smuggle the letters out, but they knew that if they were informed upon, they would be executed. A cleverer solution was needed.

The very next day four young inmates – Krystyna, Wanda, Janina and her sister – wrote letters to their families. Ostensibly, they were as mundane as the earlier missives. In an interview with her that was published in 2015 in a book about the camp’s history, Czyz related that when her family received the letter, her father read it aloud and they all scrutinized the text for hints about her health, but the usual blandness seemed to prevail. Nevertheless, something about the letter struck Krystyna’s brother as different. His sister mentioned in it their admiration for the children’s book “Satan from the Seventh Grade,” recalling how amazed they had been at the protagonist’s cleverness and resourcefulness. He found the mention of the book odd. Why was his sister suddenly referring to a book they had adored as children? But then he remembered the novel’s plot and understood the hint.

A letter with urine encryption from the women’s concentration camp in Ravensbruck, written by one of the prisoners, is presented at the Martyr Museum in Lublin, Poland, February 17, 2017.

The book, by the Polish writer Kornel Makuszyski, tells the story of a seventh grader who is known for his acute intelligence and his detective skills. While investigating a mystery he is caught by criminals and imprisoned in a cellar. To ensure that his disappearance does not arouse suspicion, they demand that he write a letter to an adult friend of his, a professor, saying that he’s gone on a trip for a few days. The boy writes the following letter:

“Greetings to you, Mr. Professor! I may be a little insane, because I have gone completely on my own to an unfamiliar area, but luck plays into the hands not only of sane people but also insane ones like myself, and I am only sorry, Mr. Professor, that you are not here with me. It didn’t take long before I found a delightful girlfriend, so I don’t know when I will be back. I am enjoying the trip very much. Long live summer vacation! The area here is very pretty, and I write this without exaggeration and from sincere observation, but even so, Ejgola is much prettier. Regards to Wanda, and I miss Mrs. Teresa and all the occupants of the house. Yours, Adam.”

The recipient finds the letter suspicious. To begin with it, the way it was written was confusing, with some of the lines being short and others long, with no obvious logic. Some sentences broke abruptly midway through, only to continue on the next line, and there were also mistakes in several of the names mentioned in the letter. The recipient inferred that the deliberate mistakes were intended to attract his attention and to signal the presence of a secret message embedded in the text. It emerged that the letter contained an acrostic, spelling out the warning: “Safeguard the house.”

Krystyna’s brother thus inferred that she too must be sending a secret message. Even though the letter was blurry, the family was able to work out an acrostic. The concealed message was “list moczem,” meaning “letter in urine,” in Polish. When it comes in contact with paper, urine loses its color quickly and becomes invisible on the page. However, if the paper is heated, the writing reappears. Czyz’s mother applied a hot iron and the secret message was revealed.

“We have decided to tell you the whole truth,” Krystyna wrote in the margins of the letter using a thin stick dipped in her urine. She elaborated on the medical experiments to which she and her friends had been subjected, and signed off by noting that the family should expect similar letters in the future. Czyz was sufficiently resourceful to ask her parents to acknowledge – in code – in their next letter to her that the secret message had been received. She, for her part, read the response from her family carefully, to find the code word that confirmed that her message had been deciphered.

The Four Inmates Sent Increasing Numbers Of Coded Letters

They improved their methods, filling every empty space in the letter and even the envelope with the clandestine messages. To transmit longer messages, they divided the text and each of them sent part of it to her family; the families then met secretly to piece together the full text. The messages in the letters described the atrocities perpetrated in the camp, including the experiments conducted by the German doctors. They also reported the death of several young women in the wake of the experiments, and noted the physical and mental damage suffered by those who survived. The letter writers stuck scrupulously to the facts and refrained from complaining about the situation or about the conditions in the camp. They provided first-hand testimony about the crimes being perpetrated in Ravensbrück, in the hope that revelation of the information would somehow help to bring about an end to the Nazis’ deeds.

“Up to January 16, 1943, 70 persons were operated on altogether,” Czyz wrote in a secret message in March 1943. “Out of this number, 56 were from the Lublin September transport, 36 of these operations began with infection (3 without incision) and 20 bone operations. In bone operations, each incision is opened again. No more new operations since Jan 15.”

She went on to list the names of the victims, their serial number in the camp and the type of operation they underwent. “Infection operations August 1st 1942: Wojtasik Wanda 7709, Gna Maria 7883, Zielonka Maria 7771…” She added the names of the doctors who carried out the experiments (source: “Ravensbrück: Inside Hitler’s Concentration Camp for Women,” by Sarah Helm).

“As a sign that you have read this letter, send me a blue thread in a parcel …,” she wrote to her parents. “You can send a note hidden in the double bottom of a tin. Write at least once, describe the political situation. I am waiting for that! Message continued in letters from Wanda and Janina.”

At The Same Time, The Young Women Made Plans To Escape From The Camp

In May 1943 Janina Iwaska’s father received a letter in German from his daughter: “Dear Bolust! I received packages from you on 23/IX [Sept. 23] and 5/X [Oct. 5]. We thank you very much for this. I am writing you a very short letter today, because I don’t have much time. But Ninka is writing a long letter. She is released from work for a few days due to illness. In her letter you will discover exactly how we spent Easter. There is nothing new here, spring is marvelous. Thanks to everyone for sending regards. I kiss you strongly.”

The real message appeared on the envelope holding the letters, and was decoded by Janina’s father: “Five female Polish political inmates have escaped. We are preparing a new escape. Send in a parcel: a compass, an accurate map of Germany, two false identification documents with photographs that are not especially characteristic. As much Reichsmarks as possible and some jewelry (gold!). Send to: Krzysio Starszy in the Generalgouvernement, possibly through the organization. Comfortable shoes, 2 sponges. The mission [must be carried out by] June 20th, please hurry… Address the parcel to me. The map, identification documents and money, you should send in a strong, double-bottomed box.

“You have to do it very skillfully, carefully and invisible … underneath a jar of jam, a secret message tucked in a tube of toothpaste. At the bottom a rusks box. Sender: Agnieszka Kopertowska, Krakowskie Przedmiescie 26.4. Destroy the letter, in case anything happens, you know nothing.” (Source: www.alvin-portal.org; Polish Research Institute, Lund University, Sweden).

Under the supervision of SS general Karl Gebhardt (pictured), the personal doctor to SS leader Heinrich Himmler, Nazi doctors began dragging inmates into their laboratories to conduct sick medical tests

Whether the plan to escape was implemented fully is not clear, but all four women survived. After the war Czyz went on to pursue an academic career; Wanda became a psychiatrist; Janina was a journalist in Paris; and her younger sister became a doctor.

For their part, Czyz’s parents forwarded the detailed reports to the leaders of the underground in Lublin. From there they were sent on to Warsaw, then to the Polish government in exile based in London, which conveyed them to the headquarters of the International Red Cross in Geneva and to the Vatican. The government in exile called for a halt to the crimes being committed in the camp. The IRC replied that the subject was being examined but that the German authorities did not permit visits to the camp.

Despite that, the contents of the letters were made known to the world. At 7:10 P.M. on May 3, 1944 – nearly a year and a half after the first secret message was transmitted – a radio station in England belonging to the Polish underground broadcast an item based on the secret messages in the letters. The broadcast was meant for the world, but primarily for German intelligence who would be listening in. “In the concentration camp for women in Ravensbrück,” the announcer said, “the Germans are committing new crimes. The women in this camp are being submitted to vivisection experiments and are being operated on like rabbits. The [occupation] authorities have made lists of all women who had to submit to such operations. It is feared that these records are being kept for the purpose of murdering these women so as to obliterate all traces of their crimes… At present there are close to 3,000 Polish women in the Ravensbrück camp.”

The broadcast continued with a warning to those in charge in the camp: “For the fate of the women in the concentration camp of Ravensbrück all Germans are responsible: SS officers and doctors of the administration of the camp. The prime responsibility therefore falls on the commandant of the camp… his adjutant… and the chief woman guard. All these we are warning solemnly that if any mass murders are committed, or if the vivisection experiments continue, they will be held responsible – they and their families. We have established their identity and we are finding out particulars about their families. May they remember that their days are numbered. We shall find them even if they are to hide under the earth. None of the hired assassins of Ravensbrück will escape justice.” (Source: Sarah Helm)

Czyz related in an interview that news of the radio broadcast reached the inmates and stirred great excitement. After months of risking their lives on a daily basis, the four young women discovered that their reports were reaching destinations far beyond the gates of the camp. After the war Czyz studied geography and became a research fellow at Lublin’s Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. She passed away in 2011.

Death By Hanging

In 1945, as the Nazis’ defeat loomed, the SS began the evacuation of Ravensbrück; most of the prisoners still alive were sent on a death march in Germany. On April 30, the Red Army liberated those who remained. The four letter-writers survived and went on to have families. The female SS guards and warders were captured by the Allies and tried in Hamburg in the 1946-1948 Ravensbrück trials. The secret messages transmitted by the victims of the experiments were entered in evidence against them. Eleven of them were sentenced to death for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Karl Gebhardt, who supervised the experiments in the camp, was sentenced to death in the Doctors Trial held in Nuremberg in 1946-47. He was hanged on June 2, 1948. READ MORE

The Untold Story of the Rabbits of Ravensbruck

During the last months of the war, the Nazis determined to execute all remaining rabbits, as they were living proof of the atrocities committed. But other Ravensbrück inmates intervened in a great show of solidarity.

The World Finally Figures Out That Vladimir Putin Is Stepping Up To Attempt To Finish The Job That Adolf HItler Started In World War 2

Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine echoes Adolf Hitler’s takeover of the Rhineland and Czechoslovakia during the Nazi occupation.

“The argument that Hitler made is very, very similar to the one Putin’s made,” said Dov S. Zakheim, senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “So it’s the same playbook,” Zakheim said.

Oh that Solomon, God gave him heavenly wisdom and with it he was able to understand things from a biblical perspective. Solomon looked at human history from God’s perspective and what did he see? He saw it repeating over, and over and over again. Ever since the first three chapters of Genesis 1-3, everything is on some level a repeat. How about that Vladimir Putin? Well, he seems to be digging into Hitler’s playbook to see what end times gems can be repurposed, a fact this lost world seems to have finally awakened to.

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.” Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 (KJB)

The fruit of World War 1 was the Balfour Declaration to return the Jews to their homeland, that didn’t work out so God allowed World War 2 to finish the deal. Now here on the edge of what some are saying looks like World War 3, how will this impact the Jews and Israel? The only thing left to be accomplished before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is the time of Jacob’s trouble, and that is a terrifying thought. And if that’s where things truly are, that means the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church is very, very close indeed.

Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine echoes Adolf Hitler’s takeover of Czechoslovakia

FROM MSN: By 1939, parts of Czechoslovakia had already been carved off and taken over by Nazi Germany, which claimed that millions of ethnic Germans were being persecuted there. The previous September, European powers, seeking to avoid war, had acquiesced and done nothing. But six months later, German troops were massed on the Czech border, as Nazi leader Adolf Hitler railed and threatened the county with destruction.

On March 15, 1939, the sickly Czech president, Emil Hacha, was in Hitler’s study surrounded by the Führer’s henchmen.

“Hitler was at his most intimidating,” historian Ian Kershaw wrote in his 2000 biography of the Nazi leader. “He launched into a violent tirade against the Czechs.” The Nazis needed to take over Czechoslovakia to protect Germany. Hacha must agree or his country would be immediately attacked and Prague, its capital, bombed.

Hacha fainted, according to Kershaw, but was revived and gave in to Hitler’s demand. German troops marched in a few hours later. Hitler said it was the happiest day of his life.

Russia’s Vladimir Putin did not bother to speak with Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, before launching his assault Thursday. But some observers see brutal similarities to Hitler’s seizure of Czechoslovakia just before World War II.

“This is all truly dictated by our national interests and dictated by care for the future of our country,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday after the Russian assault began.

Putin on Monday claimed pro-Russian residents of Ukraine faced “genocide.”

“The killing of civilians … the abuse of people, including children, women and the elderly, continues unabated,” he said. “There is no end in sight.”

“Neanderthal and aggressive nationalism and neo-Nazism … have been elevated in Ukraine to the rank of national policy,” he said. “How much longer can one put up with this?”

In 2014, Russia seized the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine, with Putin saying, “In people’s hearts and minds, Crimea has always been an inseparable part of Russia.” Before invading Ukraine this week, he first stationed at least 150,000 Russian troops along that country’s borders. He claimed in a speech Monday that “Ukraine actually never had stable traditions of real statehood. … It is an inalienable part of our own history, culture and spiritual space.” He recognized two pro-Russian breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine — the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic — which had separated from Ukraine in 2014.

He ordered Russian troops into the area on a “peacekeeping mission” and then began a full-scale attack Thursday morning, bombarding cities, towns and villages and advancing toward the capital, Kyiv, where air raid sirens were heard.

“The argument that Hitler made is very, very similar to the one Putin’s made,” said Dov S. Zakheim, senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank, and a former undersecretary of defense. Putin, he said, is claiming that the Ukrainian government is “mistreating these poor Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine,” who need Putin to come to their defense.

“So it’s the same playbook,” Zakheim said. “When [Hitler] bit off the Sudetenland, his argument was: ‘These people don’t want to be part of Czechoslovakia. They’re Germans.’ Putin’s saying the same thing about these people in Donetsk and Luhansk: ‘They don’t want to be part of Ukraine. They’re Russians.’ Same exact argument.”

With Thursday’s attack, “he’s expanding it,” Zakheim said. And the example of the late 1930s hints at how far that expansion could go.

“Hitler wanted to take over all of Europe,” Zakheim said. “Putin … wants to restore Czarist Russia, the Russian empire. It’s a threat in particular to Finland, which was part of the Russian empire, to the Baltic states, which were part of the Russian empire, and to Poland, which was part of the Russian empire.”

Stephen J. Blank, a senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia, said Putin moved more quickly than Hitler: “We never had a Munich conference, so they rolled the tanks in.” READ MORE

Ukraine compares Putin to Hitler; Says ‘Not Meme’, depicts Russia’s war ‘reality’

Amid a spiralling conflict with Russia, Ukraine has now declared war against Vladimir Putin’s nation on social media. The official Twitter account of Ukraine has posted a caricature of Adolf Hitler smiling at Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a separate tweet, Ukraine clarified that it was not a meme but our and your reality right now. Before the invasion, a series of tweets by the Ukraine Twitter account depicted Russia as an aggressive neighbour.

René Carmille Was The World’s First Computer Hacker And He Saved The Lives Of Millions Of Jews From Nazi Death By Hacking Into IBM Machines

René Carmille was the world’s first hacker who saved millions of lives in Nazi France by hacking into electronic tabulating machines created by IBM.

René Carmille was the world’s first ethical hacker who saved millions of lives in Nazi France by hacking into the electronic tabulating machines created by IBM.

René Carmille is likely not a name you are familiar with, but like Oskar Schindler of ‘Schindler’s List‘ fame, Carmille saved the lives of countless Jews during the Nazi occupation of France by becoming the world’s first hacker, hacking into the electronic tabulating machines created by IBM. I bet you didn’t know that IBM helped Hitler and the Nazis organize and catalogue the millions of concentration camp prisoners in order to send them to their deaths with the greatest of efficiency.

“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40 (KJB)

I am not saying that the Nazis simply used IBM machines like they would use any other product available for purchase on the open market, not by a long shot. As you will see, IBM knew what Hitler was using their machines for, and went to great lengths to be a partner with the Nazis to provide the greatest and longest-lasting use of their electronic tabulating machines. IBM is a horrible and thoroughly despicable company, I guess that’s why they helped Mary Gates to create Microsoft. And the legacy continues.

Rene Carmille has been called the first ethical hacker for sabotaging the IBM computerization of data about French Jews during World War II.

FROM JSTOR DAILY: The electronic tabulating machine developed by Herman Hollerith for the 1890 U.S. census was the direct predecessor of the machines used to track down Japanese Americans for internment during World War II. Hollerith’s punched-card system—which stored coded information on perforated paper cards—was one of the foundations of the company that became IBM, whose German subsidiary provided technology for the Nazis extermination campaign against Jews and other perceived enemies.

The French experience in WWII is also instructive. Some credit René Carmille as the first ethical hacker because he stalled Nazi demands to get France’s Jewish population registered by machine. As Lars Heide details, Carmille was a loyal public servant under both republican and Vichy France, a keen exponent of data in the service of the state.

He was one of the “key public employees to pioneer the introduction of national registers,” during an era of industrial rationalization and the growth of bureaucracies and military organizations, all fed by the need for accessible information. The work Carmille’s national demographic and statistical office did for Vichy was a national census, collecting “date and place of birth, parents, marriages, divorces, children, date of death, nationality, address—but nothing concerning religion.” (Though a largely Catholic country, France had a strong tradition of secularism.) Four pictures of the person were included with these records, which were stored on two punch cards apiece. Another project was done on the sly, compiling a list of men able to serve in the military, should France’s military rise again.

The national registry was a big project—nearly 2000 people were employed, “operating 233 punches, 22 sorters, 14 tabulators and 7 reproducers.” Heide stresses that “Germans do not appear to have shown much interest in the national register or to have considered its potential, which limited the danger it posed.” They were interested in two other data sets, however. One was a 1941 census of professions that asked if employees were of the “Jewish race.” The other was a special census of Jews carried out by the police. Carmille claimed his office had little time for processing these because of the magnitude of the national registry. Vichy police and the Gestapo would ultimately have to use the old-fashioned paper method of record-keeping.

While Carmille didn’t re-write code or introduce a bug in the system, his “hacking” was akin to sabotage, throwing a bureaucratic wrench into the IBM machine. Heide calls Carmille’s initial form of resistance passive, a serious “departure from the loyal public servant he had been.” But resistance is full of terrible compromises. In 1943, his office had to compile at least two lists, one of 50,000 men, to supply forced labor for Germany. Carmille himself was tortured and murdered by the Nazis for being a member of the Resistance, just a few months before Liberation. READ MORE

Anne Frank and her family went into hiding on July 6, 1942: 79 years ago today. As Adolf Hitler and the Nazis began to take power, the Frank family moved from their home in Germany to live in Amsterdam, which was soon occupied by German forces.

79 years ago today, Anne Frank and the entire Frank family went into hiding from the Nazis, it was here that young Anne would write her famous diary that would tell the world of what had happened to them years later. The Holocaust happened, it murdered 6 million Jews and 6 million gentiles, Anne’s diary stands witness to this fact. If you’re a Christian who denies the fact of the Holocaust, you should be ashamed of yourself.

“Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10 (KJB)

The Bible says that the Jews, God’s chosen people, were chosen in the ‘furnace of affliction’, and that is a very true statement. The Jews are the most persecuted people in human history, and during the coming time of Jacob’s trouble, the Jews will be persecuted even more than they were in Hitler’s Germany. That’s a very sobering thought to say the least. Genesis 12:3 is still in effect, and if you want a blessing, bless the Jewish people, if you want to be cursed, then curse them and see what happens. Every, single nation that ever came against the Jew doesn’t even exist anymore, think about that. Whose side are you on?

Here’s another sobering thought, on the day Anne Frank went into hiding from Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, Israel didn’t exist and had yet to be regathered. Without the Holocaust, it is highly likely Israel would still remain scattered. It is an awesome and terrible thing when Bible prophecy begins to be fulfilled, we are living in that time right now.

On this day: Anne Frank and family went into hiding

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: On July 5, they received a letter that Anne’s older sister would be deported and possibly sent to a labor camp, like many Jews during the Holocaust. The next day, they went into hiding. The family — father Otto, mother Edith, older sister Margot and Anne — hid in an attic apartment behind Otto Frank’s business, where he produced a gelling substance used to make jam. Anne called this the “Secret Annex.”

They were soon joined by the van Pels family, the father a business associate of Otto. They were aided by several non-Jewish friends who brought food and supplies, including Miep Gies. Their hiding spot was found by the Gestapo on August 4, 1944, after two years of hiding, due to an anonymous tip. The family was separated and taken to concentration camps.

Anne Frank recorded the “Secret Annex” experience in her diary, which her father published in America after her death in 1952. It was titled “The Diary of a Young Girl.”
She received the diary for her thirteenth birthday on June 12, 1942, less than a month before they went into hiding, writing that she hoped to confide in it because she never had anyone to confide in. Her diary has been translated into about 70 languages and adapted for stage and screen. The Diary premiered on Broadway in 1955, and in 1956 won the Tony Award for best play and the Pulitzer Prize for best drama.
The “Secret Annex” was turned into the Anne Frank House, open for visitors. Anne Frank famously wrote: “I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart.” READ MORE

Now The End Begins is your front line defense against the rising tide of darkness in the last Days before the Rapture of the Church

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. Even all the way to South Africa. We even restarted our weekly radio Bible study on Sunday nights again, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.

But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. If every one of the 15,860+ people on our daily mailing list gave $4.50, we would reach our goal immediately. If every one of our 150,000+ followers on Facebook gave $1.00 each, we would reach 300% of our goal. The same goes for our 15,900 followers on Twitter. But sadly, many will not give, so we need the ones who can and who will give to be generous. As generous as possible.
