Iran is strengthening its air defense systems amid preparations for the possibility of an American or Israeli attack on the country’s nuclear infrastructure should nuclear negotiations fail

For years, Israel had a “Hamas problem” right on their border, one they should have done something about but never did. On October 7th, 2023, 1,200 Israelis paid the ultimate price for Israel’s refusal to take proactive steps to prevent tragedy. Israel has an “Iran problem” with the current state of that nation’s nuclear facilities, and for whatever reason, they are not taking enough proactive steps to prevent Tehran from creating nuclear weapons. In the United States, President Trump is chasing after the same failed nuclear treaty with Iran that didn’t work when Obama tried it in 2015. While both nations dither, Iran is busy bolstering their nuclear plants against airstrikes. That’s the memo.

Iran preparing for Israeli, US strikes, building up air defense systems

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: According to Western intelligence assessments and security analysts’ investigation of satellite imagery, Iran appears to have relocated several anti-aircraft missile launchers to positions close to key nuclear sites like Natanz and Fordow, the report says. A significant portion of Iran’s most advanced anti-aircraft missiles and radar systems – including its long-range Russian S-300 systems – were destroyed or damaged during Israeli air strikes on the country in October and April 2024, the FT states.

“We are witnessing an impressive improvement in the capabilities and competence of the country’s air defense system,” Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohammad Baqeri reportedly said in May, adding that Iran’s military has seen a “multi-fold increase in investments.”

“The enemies of the Iranian nation should understand that any violation of our airspace will cause them significant harm,” he added.

Military equipment and weapons have been publicly displayed in Iran, with an S-300 launcher and a radar truck presented in Tehran during the country’s Army Day celebrations in May, and an S-300 shown launching an anti-aircraft missile during a military exercise in February.

“There is no doubt that Iran is seeking to refute the claim that its advanced air defense systems have been destroyed,” Nicole Gryzewski of the Carnegie Institution in Washington told the FT.

“Israel currently has almost complete air superiority over Iran,” Robert Tolast, a researcher at the British RUSI Institute, told the FT. “But such an attack would require waves upon waves of aircraft for hours. Crew fatigue comes into play – the longer they are over Iran, the greater the chance that something will go wrong.”

“From the Iranian side, this effort is trying to recreate the success story of Iran’s ballistic missile development program,” Fabian Hintz, a research fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Britain, said to the FT.

Dealing with this defense system would not be easy for Israel, John Alterman, chairman of the Global Security and Geopolitical Strategy Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, told the FT. “But is it beyond Israel’s capabilities? Ukraine has the resources and expertise to indigenously produce a large quantity of nuclear weapons at short notice if it was forced to do so, a briefing document meant for top government figures allegedly says, a report states.

Today, Biden administration Secretary of State Antony Blinken talked, bragged actually, about the massive amount of money the United States is planning on funneling, some would say laundering, to Ukraine in their endless war with Russia. It’s already at $8.5 billion since September, with many more billions to follow. What is Ukraine doing with that money? Making homemade nuclear bombs to attack Russia with.

Ukraine Believes it Can Build its Own Nuclear Bombs From Spent Fuel Rods in Months: Report

FROM BREITBART NEWS: A briefing produced for the Ukrainian defence ministry allegedly explaining to policy makers that the country could rapidly develop rudimentary nuclear bombs from spent fuel rods and long-range ballistic missiles to carry them states this could be achieved in just months.

Claimed as an exclusive by The Times of London, the document is presented by the newspaper as illustrating a potential backstop for the country to defend itself from the Russian Federation if the United States under a Trump Presidency withdrew military support. President Trump has made clear he wishes to bring peace to Europe quickly, but has not yet revealed how. Many of the options open to him do not align with the official Kyiv policy as the only acceptable end to the war being total victory over Russia.

The paper cites key lines from the report, written for the Ukraine government’s Centre for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies by Oleksii Yizhak, a senior leader at the National Institute for Strategic Studies, also a government think tank, both of which work in an official capacity advising the Presidency of Ukraine. It allegedly notes: “Creating a simple atomic bomb, as the United States did within the framework of the Manhattan Project, would not be a difficult task 80 years later”.

“I was surprised by the reverence the United States has for Russia’s nuclear threat. It may have cost us the war… They treat nuclear weapons as some kind of God. So perhaps it is also time for us to pray to this God.”

The degree to which the briefing was solely meant for the illumination of top Ukrainian cabinet ministers — given the dissemination of key paragraphs in a widely-read English newspaper — or is partly intended as a veiled threat to both Moscow and Washington D.C., is naturally hard to immediately ascertain. Certainly, the Ukrainian government communicated a rebuttal overnight, stating the country was bound by a nuclear non-proliferation treaty. Yet this denial came without addressing the actual points in the briefing that the authors believe the country has legal grounds to unilaterally withdraw from those obligations, given it could claim other partners haven’t honoured it.

Whatever the truth, it is certain that the emergence of a new rogue nuclear state willing to use unsophisticated, low-yield nuclear weapons in Eastern Europe to defend its sovereignty from an aggressor would be not well received by Western capitals, and least of all by European nations threatened by drifting fallout clouds. French president Emmanuel Macron has suggested the submarine-launched nuclear warheads are fanned across the continent to create a ‘nuclear umbrella’ over Europe

Emmanuel Macron is in his second term as French president, and has just offered the entire weight of the nuclear arsenal of France to the European Union to create a massive ‘nuclear umbrella’ to protect EU nations from a Russian nuclear attack. Today Macron is the president of France, but soon he just may be the king of the world. No kidding.

Europe planning new ‘nuclear umbrella’ with 300 French nuke missiles spread across continent for showdown with Russia

THE SUN US: Macron’s offer followed a German minister urging the UK and France to forge a “nuclear shield” to deter Russia. Leaders in Europe are worried about the ramifications of a possible Donald Trump win in the November presidential election. And nuclear threats are coming out of Russia thick and fast as Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine drags on.

Macron said he wanted to open up conversations about “missile defence, long-range weapons and nuclear weapons” across Europe. The French premier, who has been incredibly vocal about stepping up defence in the face of Putin, said we need a “credible European defence”.

The current US-led NATO alliance, he believes, does not offer enough protection.

France, he says, “is ready to contribute more to the defence of European soil,” independently from America, offering up the 300-ballistic and cruise missile store. But Russia’s nuclear stores dwarf their collective power, with the world’s most extensive and varied collection by a considerable amount. Even the US has fewer nukes.

Just this weekend, one of Putin’s state TV propaganda puppets issued a fresh nuclear threat against the West.

Dmitry Kiselyov warned: “If NATO countries deploy their forces to Ukraine in order to deal strategic defeat to Russia, then that very moment will come of which Putin has spoken. In that case, we’ll send everything flying everywhere! Sarmat, Yars and Avangard missiles. “American decision-making centres and launch sites on land and sea are already in our crosshairs. France, as a nuclear power, will have to be disarmed in an instant. The British isles will simply go underwater. We have the technologies for this.” By referring to “American decision-making centres and launch sites”, Kiselyov was referencing bases across Europe in allied countries. Just days ago Moscow warned that NATO’s nuclear weapons and facilities would be targeted if they are deployed in Poland.

Macron is suggesting France’s nuclear arsenal of submarine-launched ballistic missiles and air-launched cruise missiles are shared around the continent.

He urged: “French doctrine is that we can use nuclear arms when our vital interests are at stake … There is a European dimension in these vital interests. I am in favour of opening this debate, which must therefore include missile defence, long-range weapons and nuclear weapons for those who have them or who have American nuclear weapons on their soil. France will keep its specificity, but it is ready to contribute more to the defence of European soil.”

And last week he doubled down on a specifically European network of defence: “The European pillar of Nato that we are building is essential. But we should build a European defence framework.
