Russia could provide its most advanced hypersonic missiles to Venezuela, amid frayed relations with the United States amid ongoing military attacks from Trump

We’ve been telling you for some time now, that Trump’s oddly-timed ‘war on drugs’ in Venezuela is really just cover for ramping up military action against Venezuela in order to conduct regime change with Maduro. Trump has been able to conduct operations with seeming impunity, and now, Putin is going to raise the ante just a tad by supply Venezuela with hypersonic missiles. This ought to be good.

For a man who markets himself as the ‘president of peace’, Trump is sure looking to get into a lot of military ‘conflicts’. We have Venezuela, Mexico, Nigeria overseas, and at home, Trump wants troops on the ground in every major city in all 50 states. Russia open to sending hypersonic missiles to Venezuela

FROM THE TELEGRAPH UK: Alexei Zhuravlyov, the deputy chairman of Russia’s parliamentary defence committee, warned that “the Americans may be in for some surprises” as he opened the door to a weapons transfer to Venezuela. The Kremlin claims the Oreshnik missile is impossible to intercept and can carry conventional and nuclear warheads.

“I see no obstacles to supplying a friendly country with new developments such as the Oreshnik or, let’s say, the well-proven Kalibr missiles,” Mr Zhuravlyov told the Russian news website Gazeta.Ru.

The Oreshnik missile, translating as “hazel tree”, is capable of striking any target across the European continent in under an hour if launched from Russia or Belarus, according to Moscow. Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, has insisted that the missiles are so mighty that using several of them in a strike with conventional warheads would be just as catastrophic as a nuclear attack.

The Oreshnik was first used in the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro in November 2024 in what Putin said was a reprisal to Ukraine’s use of long-range weaponry hailing from the US and UK, including Storm Shadow missiles, to hit targets inside Russia.

It is understood Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan president, reached out to Putin personally to plead for military assistance amid increased US military presence in the Caribbean.

Mr Maduro asked for Russia to boost air defences, including restoring Russian Sukhoi Su-30MK2 aircraft already in Venezuela’s possession and acquiring 14 sets of missiles, The Washington Post reported last week.

In a letter to the Russian president, Mr Maduro reportedly said that the Sukhoi fighters were “the most important deterrent the Venezuelan national government had when facing the threat of war”. Caracas also reached out to China and Iran to upgrade its military capabilities and expand defensive ties, according to the paper.

The US deployment in the Caribbean Sea has been swelling for months as Washington dispatched fighter jets, warships, bombers, marines, drones and spy planes in a move that the US president claimed was necessary to sever the flow drugs into the US. More than a dozen US strikes on alleged drug traffickers, most of whom departed from Venezuelan shores, have killed more than 60 people since September. READ MORE

Speaking during a televised military ceremony, Maduro claimed the missiles—comparable to U.S. Stinger systems—are positioned “from the last mountain to the last city” to guarantee Venezuela’s sovereignty and peace. The declaration comes as U.S. President Donald Trump intensifies naval and air operations against drug‑trafficking networks in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific, actions Caracas has condemned as a prelude to regime‑change. The Russian‑supplied Igla‑S systems can strike drones, helicopters, and low‑flying aircraft within a 6‑kilometer range, making Venezuela’s stockpile one of the largest in Latin America.

President Donald Trump has flown menacing B-52 bombers near Venezuela as he threatens to strike Nicolas Maduro’s drug-smuggling cartels on land

The question everyone is asking at the moment, is what is really going on in Venezuela, and why is President Trump so intent on military action there? Oh, I know, he is there “fighting drug cartels”, but is he really? Does this have to do less with Venezuelan drug cartels and more to do with Russia and possible caches of drones being stored there?

In May 2025, Presidents Vladimir Putin and Nicolás Maduro signed a 10-year strategic cooperation treaty in Moscow, elevating their bilateral alliance. The treaty reportedly expands cooperation across energy, defense, technology, communications, and satellite navigation. The new treaty and legal ratifications mark a formal deepening of the Russia–Venezuela alliance, giving it more structure than past arms deals or ad hoc agreements. President Trump should be honest with the American people, and tell us why he’s really committing US forces there. This smells like regime change to me.

Trump flies B-52 bombers near Venezuela

FROM THE SUN US: The latest escalation in the war on drugs comes after the US President greenlit lethal CIA operations in Venezuela – with Maduro now accusing Trump of regime change. In Trump’s latest show of force, three American B-52H Stratofortress bombers circled near Venezuelan airspace for two hours.

The trio, with callsigns BUNNY01, BUNNY02, and BUNNY03, departed Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana before heading south towards Venuzeula. It comes after Trump confirmed he “certainly looking at” striking cartels on Maduro’s land.

The Venezuelan president then vowed to defend his pariah state from regime change following Trump’s threats. Maduro accused the Don of organising “coups” alongside the CIA in order to topple his tyrannical dictatorship.

The despot raged: “No to war in the Caribbean…No to regime change…No to coups d’etat orchestrated by the CIA.”

The latest developments come amid Trump’s war on Venezuelan cartel-run speedboats, which he claims has so far killed 27 people. The US has destroyed at least five vessels allegedly carrying drugs – with the latest strike on “narcoterrorists” coming earlier this week.

Trump shared footage of the direct missile hit which killed all six on board and sent the vessel flaming up on October 14. Showing he was not afraid to escalate the conflict and hit Venezuelan land, the US leader said on Wednesday: “We’ve had a couple of days without a boat to be found.

“We’ve almost totally stopped it by sea. Now we’ll stop it by land.”

Asked whether his comments could mean launching airstrikes on Venezuela, Trump responded: “We’re certainly looking at land now.” And confirming he had okayed the use of lethal force by the CIA in Venezuela, Trump said: “I authorised for two reasons really… number one, they [Venezuela] have emptied their prisons into the United States of America.

“And the other thing are drugs, we have a lot of drugs coming in from Venezuela, and a lot of the Venezuelan drugs come in through the sea, so you get to see that, but we’re going to stop them by land also.”

But Trump stopped short of saying whether or not he would authorise the assassination of Maduro. Asked about the prospect of killing the dictator, the US leader said: “I don’t want to answer a question like that.” READ MORE

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced on Friday that the U.S. has approved the establishment of a Qatari Emiri Air Force facility at US base in Idaho

When Qatar announced they were giving President Trump a $400 million dollar Boeing luxury jet, it seemed like a gift, extravagant as such a gift might be. But today, that ‘gift’ is looking a lot more like a payoff after the shocking announcement of approval for a Qatari Air Force Base in Idaho. I am not sure exactly how ‘America First’ such a move is, and that’s the memo.

People get mad at me, saying that I am “too hard on Trump”, but honestly I think I need to step my game up a little. Trump Admin Sparks MAGA Fury With Qatari Air Force Base in US—’Betrayed’

FROM NEWSWEEK: It’s a move that has drawn backlash from some of the administration’s closest Make America Great Again (MAGA) allies, with Laura Loomer saying, “I have never felt more betrayed by the GOP,” over the move. Steve Bannon, former White House chief strategist during President Donald Trump’s first term and architect of the MAGA movement, told Newsweek in a text message, “There should never be a military base of a foreign power on the sacred soil of America.”

The administration’s announcement shocked the MAGA core base, who have applauded the president on his “America First” agenda. The agreement states an Idaho air base will “host a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots.”

The move comes months after Trump accepted a Qatari luxury jet, which drew criticism from both Democrats and Republicans, including from Loomer. It also comes as the U.S. is working with mediators in the region to put an end to the Israel Hamas war. Qatar has been a longtime ally of the U.S. and hosts key CENTCOM military operations at Al-Udeid Air Base near Doha. The Qatari Emiri Air Force facility will be hosted at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, Hegseth said.

Loomer took issue with the administration’s move in a series of X posts, writing “no foreign country should have a military base on US soil. Especially Islamic countries.”

She added in another post that Hegseth, who she calls her friend, “should know how bad of an idea it is to allow Terror financing Qataris who fund HAMAS and the Muslim Brotherhood to have an AIR FORCE BASE ON US SOIL.”

Loomer added, “I don’t think I’ll be voting in 2026,” over the issue.

Conservative commentator Amy Mek wrote in an X post she is “in shock that Washington would approve a deal letting Qatar, Hamas’s #1 financier, open a Qatari Air Force facility on U.S. soil at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.”

She added, “It’s a shared delusion. We’re not building peace. We’re building a launchpad for the Islamic disaster.” There is no indication that Qatar will be using the base for anything other than training and cooperating with U.S., with Hegseth stating, the partnership will “enhance our combined training, increase lethality, interoperability.” READ MORE
