NEW YORK (AP) — A superstorm that sent water rushing onto city streets has left a large swath of the lower part of Manhattan without power. Consolidated Edison spokesman Chris Olert said Monday evening that the power was out for most of Manhattan south of 26th Street.

It’s light’s out for the Big Apple…

On the east side, the power outage extended from 29th Street south. There were some scattered areas that still had electricity. Olert said the damage stemmed from flooding and the probable loss of a transmission feeder.

The power outage was separate from a planned power cut that Con Ed did in certain lower Manhattan neighborhoods to protect underwater systems from flood damage. Olert said there were 250,000 customers without power in Manhattan. A customer represents a single meter, so the number of people actually affected is likely higher.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

Superstorm Sandy zeroed in on New York’s waterfront with fierce rain and winds that shuttered most of the nation’s largest city Monday, darkened the financial district and left a huge crane hanging off a luxury high-rise.

The threat of a record 13-foot storm surge inundating downtown Manhattan prompted officials to close the mass transit system and cut power pre-emptively to parts of downtown Manhattan to avoid damage from incoming seawater.

“The worst of it is about to hit,” Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday evening before Sandy, stripped of its hurricane status but just as strong and dangerous, made landfall in southern New Jersey.

Water began lapping over the lower Manhattan seawall earlier, about ankle-deep, as officials anxiously awaited high tide. Water began pooling in rail yards and on highways near the Hudson River waterfront on Manhattan’s far west side.

On coastal Long Island, floodwaters swamped cars, downed trees and put neighborhoods under water as beachfronts and fishing villages bore the brunt of the storm. A police car was lost rescuing 14 people from the popular resort Fire Island.

The storm had only killed one New Yorker by Monday night, a man who died when a tree fell on his home in the Flushing section of Queens.

The collapsed crane suspended over midtown caused the evacuation of hundreds from a posh hotel and other buildings. Inspectors were climbing 74 flights of stairs to examine it. Meteorologists said the winds could have been close to 95 mph at the top of the $1.5 billion building when the crane tipped.

The facade of a four-story Manhattan building in the Chelsea neighborhood crumbled and collapsed suddenly, leaving the lights, couches, cabinets and desks inside visible from the street. No one was hurt, although some of the falling debris hit a car.

The city shut its subways, schools, stock exchanges, Broadway theaters and closed several bridges and tunnels throughout the day as the weather worsened. Late Monday, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey closed LaGuardia Airport, although major carriers had cancelled all their flights hours earlier.

Consolidated Edison cut power pre-emptively to parts of Manhattan bordered by the Brooklyn Bridge and the East River, trying to lessen damage to underground equipment from the massive storm, spokesman Chris Olert said. About 6,500 customers lost power, he said; the utility reported more than 65,000 outages from the storm in the city and suburban Westchester County.

Earlier, some New Yorkers defiantly soldiered on, trying to salvage normal routines and refusing to evacuate, as the mayor ordered 375,000 in low-lying areas to do.

Mark Vial pushed a stroller holding his 2-year-old daughter Maziyar toward his apartment building in Battery Park City, an area that was ordered evacuated. “We’re high up enough, so I’m not worried about flooding,” said Via, 35. “There’s plenty of food. We’ll be OK.

But by early evening, the water in New York Harbor was rising and winds sent a trash can blowing down the street in Battery Park City. Brian Damianakes, 47, took shelter in an ATM vestibule.

“I decided to go for a run about five minutes ago but now I’m thinking maybe not,” he said. “Now it’s really turning into something.”

On New York’s Long Island, floodwaters had begun to deluge some low-lying towns and nearly 150,000 customers had lost power. Cars floated along the streets of Long Beach and flooding consumed several blocks south of the bay, residents said.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, holding a news conference on Long Island where the lights flickered and his mike went in and out, said most of the National Guards deployed to the New York City area would go to Long Island.

“Long Island has become more and more vulnerable and the primary area of our concentration,” he said.

In the fishing village of Greenport, Sean Seal piled dirt and sandbags onto the alleyway behind his collectibles store where the water was steadily creeping up the street toward his front door. He only opened the shop about two months ago.

“We put everything up. Up on tables, up on shelves, as far as we could,” he said. “It’s gonna be devastating. We’ll lose a lot of stuff.”

Anoush Vargas drove with her husband, Michael to the famed Jones Beach Monday morning, only to find it covered by water.

“We have no more beach. It’s gone,” she said, shaking her head as she watched the waves go under the boardwalk.

The center the storm, a combination of Sandy, a wintry system from the West and cold air streaming from the Arctic, was expected to hit the city under a full moon later Monday night. Surging waters of between 6 and 11 feet could flood subway tunnels, knock out the underground network of power, phone and high-speed Internet lines that are the lifeblood of America’s financial capital.

Waters rose, but hadn’t breached the seawall by early Monday evening. Despite the dire forecasts, many chose to embrace what was coming.

“It’s seems like this one’s for real,” Grvymala said of the coming storm.

Tanja Stewart and her 7-year-old son, Finn, came from their home in Manhattan’s TriBeCa neighborhood to admire the white caps on the Hudson, Finn wearing a pair of binoculars around his neck. “I really wanted to see some big waves,” he said.

Nearby, Keith Reilly climbed up on a rail next to the rising waters of New York Harbor so his friend Eli Rowe could snap a photo of him in an Irish soccer jersey with the Statue of Liberty in the background.

“This is not so bad right now,” said the 25-year-old Reilly. “We’ll see later.”

And New Yorkers Andrew Rotz and Alex Grvymala, two young investment bankers on the Battery, wearing shorts and t-shirts, were jogging all over Lower Manhattan. Rotz said they wanted to blow off some energy before the storm hit. source – AP

What Does The Strange UFO-Shaped Cloud, Blue Lighting, And The HAARP Weather Manipulation Program Have To Do With The Earthquake In Turkey And Syria?

Published

NOW THE END BEGINS SHARE:

The once-in-a-century earthquake in Turkey and Syria was preceded by a strange UFO-shaped cloud and unusual lighting causing many to wonder if HAARP was behind it?

For those of you who don’t know, HAARP is a weather manipulation program started by the United States government in Alaska, and stands for High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program. The official site for HAARP says ‘HAARP is the world’s most capable high-power, high-frequency transmitter for study of the ionosphere. The HAARP program is committed to developing a world-class ionospheric research facility consisting of: the Ionospheric Research Instrument, a high power transmitter facility operating in the High Frequency range. And a sophisticated suite of scientific or diagnostic instruments that can be used to observe the physical processes that occur in the excited region.’ Hmm.

“Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.” Job 37:22 (KJB)

HAARP was one of the very early stories we wrote about in the early days on Now The End Begins, exposing the governments weather manipulation program and tying it in with the chemtrails they are constantly spraying over our heads. In 2015, David Walker, deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for science, technology and engineering dropped a bombshell when he admitted the government was doing what NTEB said they were doing. Was the earthquake in Turkey and Syria caused by HAARP? We don’t know for sure. But could it have been caused by the weather manipulation folks at HAARP? Absolutely. Strange clouds, intense bursts of weird blue lights, and then the most-powerful earthquake in a century killing over 20,000 people in Turkey and Syria? Nothing to see here so just go about your business. That is all.

Was earthquake in Turkey created by United States by HAARP?

FROM GEO TV: Several social media users are engaged in what some are calling a “conspiracy theory” where they believe that the earthquake in Turkey and neighboring Syria was created by the United States using the American HAARP technology.

Since last night, the hashtag #HAARP has been trending on Twitter, receiving more than 100,000 tweets.

Another Twitter user wrote: “Three weeks ago, Serkan Karabakh of FETO said there would be a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The American ship anchored in Turkey and the button was pressed! The embassies were closed and members were recalled.”

Another user wrote: “These clouds appeared as a result of the US weapon HAARP energising the ionosphere to create an artificial earthquake on February 2, 2023. Wanting to create an artificial earthquake in Istanbul, they deliberately closed the consulates.”

“Those who still say conspiracy theory, you will understand by experience,” warned another.

What is HAARP?

It stands for “High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program”.

The American research initiative called HAARP has been active since the early 1990s. Although the project has a number of goals, radio communication technology advancement is considered to be its primary focus.

“HAARP is the world’s most capable high-power, high-frequency transmitter for study of the ionosphere,” a university release by the Univerity of Alaska reads.

“Operation of the research facility was transferred from the United States Air Force to the University of Alaska Fairbanks on August 11, 2015, allowing HAARP to continue with exploration of ionospheric phenomenology via a land-use cooperative research and development agreement,” it continues.

Many people who use social media think that HAARP is being used to punish Turkey for refusing to work with the West.

“No such thing as coincidence,” a user said.

A 2017 study published in Science Advances came to the conclusion that both naturally occurring and human-caused earthquakes have a similar potential for shaking and damage. The research program currently at the centre of the rumours has not claimed anywhere to have the power to induce quakes. In October 2022, HAARP began its largest set of experiments at its new observatory but did not mention earthquakes. READ MORE

Hurricane Ian Slams Into Florida As 155 MPH Monster Causing Over A Million People To Lose Power, People Watch Houses Float Down The Street

Hurricane Ian unleashed devastation on southwest Florida after a 6ft storm surge plowed through Fort Myers destroying houses as water engulfed two-story properties.

Pray for all the souls in the path of Hurricane Ian, it has hit the southwest coast of Florida much harder than anyone was anticipating. At 155 miles per hour, Hurricane Ian is a legitimate monster, swallowing everything in his path. I experienced Hurricane Matthew in 2017 as well as Hurricane Irma in 2018, but we on the east coast of Florida didn’t see damage like the west coast is now seeing.

“But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” Matthew 14:30,31 (KJB)

Hurricane Ian has only been at work for a few hours, and already the damage toll is at $45 billion and climbing, this could be the costliest disaster certainly in state history, but also in US storm history as well. That’s how hard Ian is hitting, and he is on his way to where we are here in Saint Augustine. Please pray for everyone on the west coast of Florida and in Cuba, and pray for us here on the east coast. There will be no Bible study tonight, I am safely home and have no desire to venture outside.

Record-breaking Hurricane Ian leaves one million without power and sends tsunami of flood water crashing up West Coast

FROM DAILY MAIL UK: Horrifying footage showed wave after wave pummel the small city, swallowing buildings and cars as the monster tempest finally made landfall on Wednesday. It sees the ‘unsurvivable’ torrent of water engulf palm trees in the tropical resort and rip some from their roots as it was forced forwards by 155mph winds – only the fifth storm in history to hit land at that speed.

Fort Myers was one of the first cities to be battered by Ian, with apocalyptic images from after the initial surge showing homes decimated by its wrath as roads turned into rivers with the tsunami of floodwater.

Meanwhile Naples and Sanibel Island were also rocked by the ‘historic’ hurricane, with houses overwhelmed by water, debris flung through windows and some even ripped from their hinges.

Locals are reporting that hundreds of people in Naples are stranded on their rooftops, with the population of the town being made up mostly of elderly residents. And in Martin County, the sheriff’s office confirmed that this morning the body of 34-year-old construction worker Cody Dudek was found face down near Palm City.

Across the state 1,103,460 households saw blackouts and Ron DeSantis said during a lunchtime update he expected the number to reach the millions as well as $45billion-worth of damage.

The Florida Governor urged residents who decided to brave the storm to stay in their properties or emergency bunkers while the hurricane blasted the coastline and neared on Category 5. But some foolhardy locals ignored his pleas and flocked to the sea with inflatables and surfboards, while others gathered on piers to take risky photographs of the tempest. It comes just days after Cuba was tormented by the vicious hurricane, which left millions of dollars of damage and at least two people dead. READ MORE

First Waves Of A Tsunami Reaches The West Coast Of United States After Massive 7.4 Earthquake In Tonga, Experts Say More Shock Waves Coming

A massive 7.4 earthquake in Tonga this morning sent 4ft. high tsunami waves that have already reached the west coast of the United States.

After earthquake in Tonga, a Tsunami has struck the West Coast of the United States, with 4ft waves causing flooding in California with the worst of the devastation still yet to arrive, experts fear.

A few years ago, the idea of a massive earthquake in the South Pacific sending tsunami waves to the west coast of the United States was the stuff of end times futurist cinema. However, here at Day 670 of 15 Days To Flatten The Curve this type of activity is just another day at the office, albeit the remote office via a Zoom call.

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:26 (KJB)

For decades now, cheesy low-budget Bible prophecy movies have warned you of the coming New World Order, and in early 2020 it arrived on the scene. Granted it’s in its infancy, but it’s here and causing global havoc in nearly every nation on earth. You’ve been warned of the coming Mark of the Beast, and right now we are watching the human implantable digital ID Immunity Passport coming into view. The Bible warns about global pestilences and earthquakes that precede the time of Jacob’s trouble, known as the Days of Noah, and here we are. If you need further proof that we’re living in the end times, just give it a minute, that train is pulling into the station right now.

Tsunami strikes California: Waves up to four feet high cause coastal flooding as warning is issued for entire US West Coast and Hawaii after earthquake

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: A warning for Hawaii and the Pacific seaboard was issued earlier today after an undersea volcanic eruption near Tonga triggered a a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. There were no reports of injuries or the extent of the damage as communications with the country remained cut off hours after the eruption. Hundreds of frightened Tongans fled to higher ground as the eruption triggered a tsunami in the island nation, with a four-foot wave observed in Tonga’s capital Nuku’alofa.

In Santa Cruz, video showed significant flooding near the harbor, with at least one vehicle caught in the surge. Waves of up to 4.1 feet were recorded in Port San Luis, and in El Segundo, a number of daring surfers were spotted defying warnings to catch the powerful waves. Officials say widespread inundation is not expected, but rather coastal hazards such as rip currents and dangerous waves in harbors. Authorities caution that the first waves to strike may not be the highest waves experienced in an area.

The initial tsunami wave hit Los Angeles around 7.45am PST (3.45pm GMT) and San Francisco at 8.10am PST (4.10pm GMT), and was expected to last for several hours.

The ‘violent’ underwater volcanic eruption in the Pacific at 5.10pm local time (4.10am GMT) – that was visible from space – was confirmed as the cause of the tsunami, which overwhelmed homes, buildings, fences, roads and cars in Tonga around 20 minutes later.

Locals pleaded for people to ‘pray for us’ as the Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha’apai volcanic eruption was compared to ‘bombs going off’ by those who heard it, followed by the tsunami surging ashore.

The eruption could be heard thousands of kilometres away and sparked warnings in New Zealand, Fiji, American Samoa and Australia, with several Australian offshore territories under threat, including Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and Macquarie Island, officials said.

After earthquake a tsunami advisory was also put into effect for the entire US Pacific seaboard and Hawaii.

‘A tsunami capable of producing strong currents that may be hazardous to swimmers, boats, and coastal structures is expected,’ the US National Weather Service said in a flash bulletin on Saturday morning. ‘If you are located in this coastal area, move off the beach and out of harbours and marinas. Do not go to the coast to watch the tsunami. Be alert to instructions from your local emergency officials,’ the agency warned.

Early on Saturday, Hawaii was already seeing tsunami wave activity of up to 2.7 feet. The advisory now extends from California’s border with Mexico to Attu Island at the tip of Alaska’s Aleutian Islands.

The tsunami is projected to hit Monterey, California at 7.35am PST (15:35 GMT), where officials say it is not expected to cause widespread inundation, but rather coastal hazards. The initial tsunami wave is projected to hit Los Angeles around 7.45am PST and San Francisco at 8.10am PST, but the highest water levels may not arrive for several hours. Satellite images showed a huge eruption lasting around eight minutes, a 3-mile wide plume of ash, steam and gas rising like a mushroom about 12 above the blue Pacific waters. Tsunami Advisory for the West Coast After Undersea Volcanic Eruption Earthquake Near Tonga

A tsunami advisory after an earthquake on Tonga this morning is in effect for the all coastal areas of the Bay Area as well as the entire West Coast. Evacuation orders are in place in the Berkeley Marina and officials in Santa Cruz County and other coastal areas are patrolling the area.
