Ahmadinejad Tells UN ‘Israel Will Be Eliminated!’
The Lord shall roar out of Zion
“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;” Joel 2:1
Speaking in New York today, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Israel will be “eliminated.” Ahmadinejad made the remarks to reporters. He’s in New York in for the United Nations General Assembly.
“Fundamentally we do not take seriously the threats of the Zionists,” Ahmadinejad told reporters, according to Reuters. “We have all the defensive means at our disposal and we are ready to defend ourselves.”
On Sunday, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with Ahmadinejad and warned him of the dangers of incendiary rhetoric in the Middle East.
Ahmadinejad did not heed the warning and, speaking to reporters through an interpreter, alluded to his previous rejection of Israel’s right to exist.
“Iran has been around for the last seven, 10 thousand years. They (the Israelis) have been occupying those territories for the last 60 to 70 years, with the support and force of the Westerners. They have no roots there in history,” he said, referring to the founding of the modern state of Israel in 1948.
“We do believe that they have found themselves at a dead end and they are seeking new adventures in order to escape this dead end. Iran will not be damaged with foreign bombs,” Ahmadinejad said.
“We don’t even count them as any part of any equation for Iran. During a historical phase, they (the Israelis) represent minimal disturbances that come into the picture and are then eliminated,” Ahmadinejad added. source – Weekly Standard

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said today that the ultimate goal of world forces must be the annihilation of Israel. Speaking to ambassadors from Islamic countries ahead of ‘Qods Day’ (‘Jerusalem Day’), an annual Iranian anti-Zionist event established in 1979 by Ayatollah Khomeini and which falls this year on August 17, Ahmadinejad said that a “horrible Zionist current” had been managing world affairs for “about 400 years.”

Ahmadinejad also described the Holocaust as a “story,” which he said was used to create Israel. “The Iranian nation has smashed a new and modern idol. The world arrogance [the United States] and colonialists [the West], in order to dominate the world, created an idol called the Zionist regime [Israel],” Ahmadinejad said. “The spirit of this idol was a story called the Holocaust. … The Iranian nation with courage and wisdom smashed this idol to free the people of the West [of its hold].”

Western capitals have reacted angrily to an announcement by Iran that it is installing more advanced centrifuges in a uranium enrichment plant with the aim of accelerating its nuclear programme. “The installation of new centrifuges with better quality and speed is ongoing,” Ramin Mehmanparast, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, told reporters at his weekly press briefing. “We have announced it and the agency [the International Atomic Energy Agency] has full supervision of them. They are fully aware that Iran’s peaceful nuclear activity continues to progress. This is another confirmation of the Islamic republic’s successful strides in its nuclear activities.”

“Despite all the (West’s) complicated and satanic designs, a new Middle East is emerging without the Zionist regime and U.S. interference, a place where the arrogant powers will have no place,” Ahmadinejad told the crowd. He also urged Egyptian protesters to persevere until there is a regime change. “It’s your right to be free. It’s your right to exercise your will and sovereignty … and choose the type of government and the rulers.” After his address, Ahmadinejad carried a placard reading, “Death to Israel.”
