The First Musician Came From Cain’s Line, And The Last Musicians Are Silenced In Babylon When God Judges The Soundtrack Of The World System

From the very beginning of the Bible, music is presented not as a harmless background feature of human life, but as something deeply connected to worship, culture, rebellion, and spiritual direction. After Cain goes out from the presence of the LORD, his descendants begin building the first city, developing culture, and producing the first human musician. This is the “beating heart” of the 7 Mountains Mandate from the New Apostolic Reformation. The first song mentioned in the Bible is the song of Moses in Exodus 15, and the last song mentioned in the Bible is the song of Moses found in Revelation 15. There is a soundtrack of the world that comes from Cain, and there are the songs of God that come from Heaven. If you are going to have the right music, then you need to find the right City first.

“For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 11:10 (KJB)

SUNDAY SERVICE STUDY NOTES: The Soundtrack of the World

The Soundtrack Of The World

Cain Leaves The Presence Of The LORD

Cain’s judgment did not produce repentance. Instead of seeking mercy, Cain went out from the presence of the LORD and began life in exile. That is the beginning of man’s organized world-system apart from God. And from the very beginning of that first city, music begins to play as a soundtrack.

“And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.” Genesis 4:16 (KJB)

This is the first major step: separation from God. Before Cain builds, before his line develops culture, before music appears, Cain first departs from the presence of the LORD.

The order matters: departure from God → city-building → culture → music → violence → judgment

Cain’s world is not built on faith, sacrifice, blood atonement, or obedience. It is built by a man who refused to do things God’s way.

Application

Not every successful civilization is blessed of God. Not every cultural achievement is spiritual. Man can build cities, produce art, develop music, advance technology, and organize society while being completely separated from the LORD. The first city in the Bible does not begin with worship. It begins with Cain. It is this mess that NAR seeks to control through the 7 Mountains Mandate. The seven mountains are: Education, Religion, Family, Business, Government, Arts & Music, and the Media.

Closing Challenge

Be careful not to confuse civilization with righteousness. A world can be educated, musical, artistic, wealthy, and technically advanced — and still be east of Eden, outside the presence of God. Christians are not called to take control of the 7 Mountains, they’re to call lost sinners to come out of it.

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4 (KJB)

Cain Builds The First City

The first city in the Bible is built by the first murderer. Cain names it after his son Enoch, not after the LORD. This is man making a name for himself in a fallen world.

“And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.” Genesis 4:17 (KJB)

Cain’s city becomes the prototype of the world-system: organized human life without submission to God. It is not merely bricks and buildings. It is the beginning of man’s attempt to create security, identity, culture, legacy, and permanence apart from the LORD.

This is the spirit that later appears at Babel:

“And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” Genesis 11:4 (KJB)

Cain names his city after his son. Babel says, “let us make us a name.” Same spirit. Same rebellion. Same self-exalting civilization. Ezekiel shows us God’s city that will exist in the Millennium.

It was round about eighteen thousand measuresand the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.” Ezekiel 48:35 (KJB)

Application

The world is always trying to make a name for itself. It builds cities, systems, empires, religions, music industries, entertainment kingdoms, and commercial networks — but without God, it is still Cain’s city.

Closing Challenge

Ask yourself this: am I building for the LORD, or am I building something to preserve my own name? Moravian church bishop Count Nikolaus Von Zinzendorf famously said “Preach the gospel, die, and be forgotten”. And that’s good advice. Peter says “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” 1 Peter 5:6 (KJB)

Music Appears In Cain’s Line

The first human musician mentioned in the Bible is Jubal, a descendant in Cain’s line.

“And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.” Genesis 4:21 (KJB)

This does not mean music itself in and of itself is evil. God later uses music in worship, praise, prophecy, and spiritual rejoicing. But the first mention of human music is not in the tabernacle, not in the temple, not among the sons of Levi, and not in the Psalms. It is in Cain’s line. That is prophetically instructive. Music appears early in the development of man’s world apart from God. Alongside city-building, livestock enterprise, metallurgy, and violence, music becomes part of fallen man’s culture.

“And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.” Genesis 4:22 (KJB)

Cain’s line produces culture, craftsmanship, industry, music, and metalwork. But it does not produce worship of the LORD.

“Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came! That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed. The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.” Amos 6 (KJB)

Application

Music is powerful because it moves the heart. It can carry doctrine, emotion, rebellion, sensuality, worship, sorrow, joy, idolatry, or praise. The question is not merely, “Does it sound good?” The question is, “What spirit does it carry, what truth does it teach, and whom does it glorify?”

Closing Challenge

Do not judge music only by talent, beauty, popularity, or emotional effect. Cain’s line had music before it had worship.

Lucifer Was Connected With Music Before Jubal

Before Jubal ever handled the harp and organ, the anointed cherub appears to have had musical workmanship connected with him in the day he was created.

“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.” Ezekiel 28:13 (KJB)

This passage addresses the king of Tyrus, but the language clearly reaches beyond an earthly ruler. He was “in Eden the garden of God.” He was “created.” He was connected with “tabrets” and “pipes.”

Music is not a small thing in Scripture. It is deeply spiritual.

Lucifer’s fall was rooted in pride and self-exaltation:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” Isaiah 14:12 (KJB)

“For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Isaiah 14:13 (KJB)

That same self-exalting spirit shows up in Babel: “let us make us a name.”

Application

The devil understands music. He understands beauty. He understands atmosphere. He understands emotional movement. He understands how to use sound to influence worship, doctrine, culture, and rebellion.

This is why music must be tested spiritually, not merely enjoyed emotionally.

Closing Challenge

The issue is not whether music moves you. The issue is where it moves you.

Babel Continues The Spirit Of Cain’s City

Babel does not physically descend from Cain’s preserved genealogy, because the Flood comes between Cain’s world and the post-Flood nations. After the Flood, Babel arises through Nimrod, from the line of Ham.

“And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.” Genesis 10:6-10 (KJB)

So physically, Babel is not traced through Cain. But spiritually and typologically, Babel carries forward the way of Cain. Cain built the first city. Nimrod builds the first kingdom-city system. Cain went out from the presence of the LORD. Babel organizes mankind in collective rebellion against the command of God.

“And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” Genesis 11:4 (KJB)

Babel is Cain’s city expanded into a global religious-political project.

Application

The world-system always wants unity without truth, religion without obedience, culture without holiness, and heaven without the God of heaven.

That is Babel.

Closing Challenge

Beware of any movement that promises unity while rejecting the word of God. Babel was unified, but God still judged it.

Babylon Is The Final Form Of Cain And Babel’s System

Babylon the great in Revelation is the final prophetic form of the same system that began in seed form with Cain’s city and was organized nationally at Babel.

  • Cain gives us the first city.
  • Babel gives us the first kingdom-city rebellion.
  • Babylon the great gives us the final world-system before the Second Advent.

“And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Revelation 17:1-5 (KJB)

Babylon is religious. Babylon is political. Babylon is commercial. Babylon is seductive. Babylon is wealthy. Babylon is global. Babylon is anti-God.

Revelation 18 shows her commercial greatness:

“And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:” Revelation 18:11 (KJB)

And then, at the end, her music stops:

“And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;” Revelation 18:22 (KJB)

That is a stunning Bible connection.

  • The first human musician appears in Cain’s line.
  • The last musicians mentioned are silenced in Babylon.
  • The world-system begins with music in Genesis 4 and ends with music being judged in Revelation 18.

Application

Babylon’s music represents more than entertainment. It is the sound of a world celebrating itself while standing under the judgment of God. It is the music of commerce, pleasure, seduction, religion, idolatry, and rebellion. It is the soundtrack of a civilization that made itself rich, intoxicated the nations, and rejected the LORD.

Closing Challenge

When God judges Babylon, He does not merely stop her armies. He unplugs their Jukebox and stops her music.

Godly Music Is Different From Babylon’s Music

The Bible does not condemn music itself. The LORD receives praise, singing, psalms, harps, trumpets, and spiritual songs when they are directed toward Him in truth.

“Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” Psalm 100:2 (KJB)

“Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.” Psalm 149:1 (KJB)

“And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.” Matthew 26:30 (KJB)

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the LORD.” Colossians 3:16 (KJB)

So the issue is not music versus no music. The issue is Cain’s music or Christ’s music. The issue is whether the song is serving the world, the flesh and the Devil, or serve the LORD God.

Application

Godly music is not just religious-sounding music. According to Colossians 3:16, it is connected to the word of Christ dwelling richly, teaching, admonishing, wisdom, grace, and the LORD.

That is very different from music designed merely to entertain, seduce, excite, manipulate, or glorify man.

Closing Challenge

A song can mention God and still not be spiritual. The test is whether it lines up with the word of God and glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Prophetic Pattern

Here is the full pattern:

  • Lucifer: music connected with the anointed cherub before his fall.
  • Cain: first murderer, departs from the presence of the LORD.
  • Cain’s city: first city, built by a rebel.
  • Jubal: first human musician, from Cain’s line.
  • Babel: first organized kingdom-city rebellion under Nimrod.
  • Babylon: final global system of religious, political, commercial, and cultural rebellion.
  • Revelation 18: Babylon’s musicians are silenced forever.

This is not accidental. The Bible is showing us that the world-system has always had a soundtrack. It began with a man who went out from the presence of the LORD. It grew into a city. It organized into Babel. It ends as Babylon the great. And when God judges it, the music stops.

Application

The world’s music is often not neutral. It can carry the spirit of Cain, the pride of Lucifer, the rebellion of Babel, and the seduction of Babylon.

But the believer’s song should be different.

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;” Revelation 5:9 (KJB)

The world sings about itself. Heaven sings about the Lamb.

Closing Challenge

Make sure your music belongs to the right city. Cain’s city has a song, and Babylon has musicians. But the City of Zion has the Lamb.

The 5 Mothers In The Messianic Line Of Jesus Show That God’s Promise Was Preserved By Grace And Fulfilled In Jesus Christ

Matthew’s genealogy of Jesus Christ does something startling and deliberate when it identifies Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary. In a record dominated by fathers and sons, the Holy Spirit stops the reader and shines a light on five mothers whose stories preach the mercy, sovereignty, and prophetic precision of God. Thamar reminds us that the promise of God survives the failure of men. Rachab shows that saving faith can reach into a doomed Gentile city and pull out a sinner marked for mercy. Ruth stands as the redeemed Gentile bride brought under the wings of the God of Israel through the kinsman redeemer. Bathsheba, identified not by name but as “her that had been the wife of Urias,” keeps David’s sin in the record and proves that Bible truth does not whitewash its heroes. Then Mary appears, not as an object of worship, but as the chosen virgin vessel through whom “Jesus, who is called Christ” entered the world according to the scriptures.

“And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.” Matthew 16:1 (KJB)

Together, these five mothers declare that the line of Christ was never preserved by human purity, religious respectability, or spotless family history. It was preserved by the faithfulness of God. There is scandal in the line, Gentile blood in the line, widowhood in the line, failure in the line, sorrow in the line, and finally a virgin birth at the end of the line. That is not an accident; that is doctrine in genealogic form. God is showing us that the Saviour did not come from a sanitized human record, but into the very ruin He came to redeem. Every mother in that line points beyond herself to the promised Seed, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham, and the Son of God. The glory is not in the bloodline itself, but in the Christ who fulfilled it, entered it, and rose above it.

SUNDAY SERVICE STUDY NOTES: The 5 Mothers In The Messianic Line

The 5 Mothers In The Messianic Line

The Old Testament Mothers In The Line Of Christ

1). Tamar: The Mother Of Phares

Matthew’s Chronology

“And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;” Matthew 1:3 (KJB)

Old Testament Corresponding Verse

“And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb. And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez. And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah.” Genesis 38:27-30 (KJB)

Synopsis

Tamar’s story is one of failure, shame, and family disorder, yet God brings Pharez through that broken situation. Matthew reaches back into Genesis 38 and names her because the Holy Spirit is showing that the Messianic line of Christ is preserved by God’s promise, not by man’s perfection. Pharez is the child of Judah, from whose line Jesus will come, and Tamar Judah’s daughter-in-law who is the first prostitute mentioned in the Bible. Israel is typified in throughout the Old Testament as a harlot that wanders away from God. “…but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 3:1 How fitting it is that the first mother mentioned in the Messianic line “plays the harlot” as well. In spite of these rough beginnings, God will show grace and mercy, and ultimately, blessing.

2). Rahab: The Mother Of Boaz

Matthew’s Chronology

“And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;” Matthew 1:5 (KJB)

Old Testament Corresponding Verse

“And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.” Joshua 6:25 (KJB)

Synopsis

Rahab was brought out of a city marked for judgment and brought into Israel. Matthew names her in the line of Christ to show the reach of God’s mercy. She was a Gentile, a sinner, and a woman from Jericho, yet faith brought her into the covenant people and into the Messianic line.

“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.” Isaiah 49:6 (KJB)

“But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.” Matthew 21:28-31 (KJB)

3). Ruth: The Mother Of Obed

Matthew’s Chronology

“And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;” Matthew 1:5 (KJB)

Old Testament Corresponding Verse

And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman. So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.” Ruth 4:12, 13 (KJB)

Synopsis

Ruth is the redeemed Gentile bride brought into Bethlehem by providence and joined to Boaz, the kinsman redeemer. Her son Obed becomes the grandfather of David. This is one of the clearest Old Testament pictures of redemption, inheritance, and grace reaching outside Israel while still flowing through Israel’s covenant line.

4). Bathsheba: The Mother Of Solomon

Matthew’s Chronology

“And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;” Matthew 1:6 (KJB)

Old Testament Corresponding Verse

“And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.” 2 Samuel 12:24 (KJB)

A second Old Testament confirmation is found in Chronicles:

“And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel:” 1 Chronicles 3:5 (KJB)

Synopsis

Matthew does not call her Bathsheba by name, but says “her that had been the wife of Urias.” That is deliberate. The Holy Spirit keeps David’s sin in view while still showing that God’s royal promise moved through Solomon. Bathsheba’s place in the line does not erase David’s sin; it magnifies God’s mercy and faithfulness.

Summary Table

Mother Matthew Reference Old Testament Reference Son In The Line
Tamar Matthew 1:3 Genesis 38:27-30 Phares / Pharez
Rahab Matthew 1:5 Joshua 6:25 Booz / Boaz
Ruth Matthew 1:5 Ruth 4:13-22 Obed
Bathsheba Matthew 1:6 2 Samuel 12:24; 1 Chronicles 3:5 Solomon

 Closing Thoughts

These Old Testament verses show that Matthew’s genealogy is not floating by itself. It is rooted in the Hebrew Scriptures, line upon line, mother by mother, promise by promise.

  • Tamar shows grace overruling personal failure.
  • Rahab shows faith spared from judgment.
  • Ruth shows the Gentile bride redeemed by the kinsman.
  • Bathsheba shows mercy operating after sin has been exposed.

And all of it points forward to Jesus, who is called Christ.

The New Testament Mother In The Line Of Christ

5). Mary: The Virgin Mother Of Jesus Christ

Main Text

“And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.” Matthew 1:16 (KJB)

Synopsis

Mary is different from the other women in the genealogy. The verse does not say Joseph begat Jesus. It says Joseph was “the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.” That wording protects the virgin birth and shows that Jesus Christ is not the natural son of Joseph.

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14 (KJB)

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (KJB)

“And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” Luke 1:46,47 (KJB)

MUST READ: The Real Mary In The Bible Was A Sinner Who Trusted In The Salvation Of The Lord

Mary is blessed among women, not above women. Mary is chosen by God to bear the Messiah according to the flesh. But she is not divine, not sinless, not a mediatrix, and not an object of worship. She is the chosen vessel, a servant. Christ is the Saviour. Mary’s place in the line brings the genealogy to its glorious end. The promise to Abraham, the throne of David, the prophetic expectation, and the Messianic line all arrive at Jesus Christ.

The Perfection Of Beauty: Why Zion Is The Place God Chose For His Habitation, His Glory, His Word, And His Future Kingdom Reign Out Of Israel

In your King James Bible, the word “Zion” appears 152 times in 152 verses, with all of them anchored in the Old Testament. And in the overwhelming majority of places, Zion is a literal, visible and physical geographic location firmly connected to King David, and to the coming King Jesus at the Second Advent. Zion will be the place where King Jesus will sit on David’s throne, and rule the world during the Millennium. God will rule the world from a Zionist Kingdom on this Earth, believe it or not.

The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Psalm 50:1-3 (KJB)

SUNDAY SERVICE STUDY NOTES: The Zion of God

The Zion of God

1. Zion Begins As A Real Place: The Strong Hold Of The Jebusites

The first major biblical identification of Zion is in David’s conquest of Jerusalem:

“Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.” 2 Samuel 5:7 (KJB)

So, historically, Zion begins as a fortified stronghold in Jerusalem, captured by David and then called “the city of David.” It is not first presented as an abstract spiritual idea. It is a literal place tied to David, Jerusalem, kingship, and conquest.

2. Zion Becomes The Seat Of Davidic Rule

Once David takes Zion, it becomes connected with the royal authority of Israel’s king. This matters because God’s covenant with David makes Jerusalem and Zion central to the kingdom promises. Zion is not merely a city name; it becomes the earthly seat from which God’s chosen king rules.

That is why the Psalms can speak of Zion with such majesty. Zion is the city of the King, the place associated with God’s government on the earth.

3. Zion Becomes The Place Of God’s Chosen Habitation

Psalm 132 makes the doctrine unmistakable:

“For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.” Psalm 132:13 (KJB)

This is where Zion rises above mere geography. The Bible says the LORD chose Zion. That choice makes Zion the appointed earthly center of divine presence, worship, glory, and future kingdom administration.

Psalm 50:2 fits perfectly here:

“Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.” Psalm 50:2 (KJB)

Zion is called “the perfection of beauty” not because of architecture, scenery, or human achievement, but because God’s presence, God’s glory, God’s word, and God’s King are associated with it.

4. Zion Becomes The Prophetic Center Of The Coming Kingdom

The prophets take Zion forward into the future reign of the LORD. Isaiah says:

“And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” Isaiah 2:3 (KJB)

That is a kingdom passage. Zion becomes the center from which divine law and instruction go forth to the nations. In a rightly divided framework, this points forward to the earthly, visible, Davidic kingdom reign of the Lord Jesus Christ, when Jerusalem is not replaced or spiritualized away, but exalted according to prophecy.

5. Zion Is Connected With Israel’s National Restoration

Paul quotes the prophets in Romans 11:

“And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:” Romans 11:26 (KJB)

Notice the spelling “Sion” in the New Testament KJB. It is the same biblical idea carried forward. In Romans 11, Zion/Sion is connected with Israel’s future deliverance, not the erasing of Israel’s promises. The Deliverer comes in connection with Jacob, Israel, covenant mercy, and national restoration.

6. Zion Also Has A Heavenly Association

Hebrews gives another layer:

“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,” Hebrews 12:22 (KJB)

Here, “mount Sion” is connected with the heavenly Jerusalem. That does not cancel the earthly promises to Jerusalem and Israel; it shows that Zion has both an earthly prophetic importance and a heavenly glory associated with God’s eternal purposes.

The Word “Zion” In One Sentence

Zion begins as David’s conquered stronghold in Jerusalem, becomes the city of God’s chosen habitation and royal glory, expands into the prophetic center of Messiah’s earthly kingdom, and is finally seen in connection with the heavenly Jerusalem and the eternal purposes of God.

Psalm 50:2 is therefore a magnificent statement: God shines out of the place He chose, the place of His King, His covenant, His worship, His glory, and His coming kingdom.

THE BIBLE BELIEVERS SUNDAY SERVICE: What Is Biblical Christianity?

Published

on

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

Biblical Christianity Stands Alone As The Blood-Bought Faith Once Delivered To The Saints While Rome, Mormonism And The Watchtower Preach Another Gospel

Biblical Christianity is not a religion built by councils, popes, prophets, publishing houses, temple ordinances, or denominational machinery. Biblical Christianity is the blood-bought faith once delivered unto the saints, anchored in the preserved words of God, centered on the Lord Jesus Christ, and sealed by the gospel of the grace of God. It begins with man as a lost, hell-bound sinner and ends with the only Saviour who can redeem him: Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, crucified, buried, risen again, and coming back. Everything else is either Bible truth or religious counterfeit. Today we compare biblical Christianty with the top 3 religious organizations to see how they stack up.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 (KJB)

What separates Biblical Christianity from every man-made system is that it does not ask the sinner to climb a ladder of works, sacraments, ordinances, priestcraft, church membership, or organizational obedience. It points him to a finished cross, an empty tomb, a risen Saviour, and an open Bible. The Roman system adds tradition and sacramental control; Mormonism adds another gospel and another authority; the Watchtower gives you another Jesus altogether. But the Bible gives you Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone — “the way, the truth, and the life” — and no man cometh unto the Father, but by him.

SUNDAY SERVICE STUDY NOTES: What Is Biblical Christianity?

What Is Biblical Christianity?

Biblical Christianity stands or falls on the person of Jesus Christ, the authority of the written word of God, and salvation by grace through faith apart from works.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9 (KJB)

When comparing any religious system to biblical Christianity, we ask four simple questions:

  1. Who is Jesus Christ?
  2. What is the final authority?
  3. How is a sinner saved?
  4. What gospel is being preached?

I. Biblical Christianity

The Final Authority Is The Written Word Of God

Biblical Christianity receives the Scriptures as the final authority, not church tradition, modern prophets, councils, popes, Watchtower publications, or additional books.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJB)

Jesus Christ Is God Manifest In The Flesh

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Colossians 2:9 (KJB)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1 (KJB)

Biblical Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ is not a created being, not the spirit brother of Lucifer, not Michael the archangel, and not merely one mediator among many. He is God manifest in the flesh. Please read our excellent article on the biblical nature of the Godhead.

Salvation Is By Grace Through Faith, Not Religious Works

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4:5 (KJB)

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,” Titus 3:5 (KJB)

The sinner is saved by trusting the finished blood atonement of Jesus Christ, not by sacraments, temple ordinances, baptismal regeneration, organizational loyalty, or personal merit.

II. Biblical Christianity Versus The Roman Catholic Church

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJB)

The Roman Catholic Church teaches many things about Jesus Christ, the Trinity, and the Bible that sound familiar to biblical Christianity, but it departs from Scripture by placing church authority, sacramental grace, priesthood, Mary, and tradition in positions the Bible does not give them.

The Vatican’s Catechism teaches that there are seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony; it says these sacraments “touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life.” The Catechism also calls the Eucharist “the source and summit of the Christian life.”

Difference In Authority

  • Biblical Christianity: Scripture is the final authority.
  • Roman Catholicism: Scripture is interpreted through the authority of the Roman Catholic Church, its traditions, councils, priesthood, and papal office.

The issue is not whether Roman Catholicism mentions the Bible. It does. The issue is whether the Bible is final, sufficient, and superior to church tradition.

Difference In Salvation

  • Biblical Christianity: A sinner is justified by faith in Christ apart from works.

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” Romans 5:1 (KJB)

  • Roman Catholicism: Grace is connected to the sacramental system, including baptism, confession, penance, Eucharist, and final perseverance within the Roman Catholic Church. Biblically, salvation is not dispensed through a priest, a wafer, a confessional booth, or a religious system. It is received by faith in the finished work of Christ.

Difference In Mediation

  • Biblical Christianity: One mediator: Jesus Christ.

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJB)

  • Roman Catholicism: Though it confesses Christ, it also places priests, Mary, saints, and sacramental ministry in mediating roles that Scripture never assigns to them Roman Catholicism is not biblical Christianity with extra ceremony. It is a sacramental religious system that mixes Christ, church, priesthood, tradition, and works.

Are you resting in Christ alone, or in Christ plus church membership, plus sacraments, plus confession, plus penance, and plus religious performance? If Christ’s work on the cross was finished, then nothing needs to be added to it.

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished:” John 19:30 (KJB)

III. Biblical Christianity Versus Mormonism

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8 (KJB)

Mormonism, officially The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, uses biblical language, speaks of Jesus Christ, and presents itself as Christian, but its doctrine of God, Jesus Christ, Scripture, salvation, and eternal destiny is radically different from biblical Christianity.

The LDS Church’s own teaching materials present the idea of a “restoration” and include additional scriptures and modern prophetic authority alongside the Bible. Its Gospel Principles manual includes chapters on “Prophets of God,” “Scriptures,” “The Church of Jesus Christ Today,” “Temple Work and Family History,” “Eternal Marriage,” and “Exaltation.” LDS materials define exaltation as the highest state of glory and connect it with man’s potential to become like Heavenly Father.

Difference In Authority

  • Biblical Christianity: The Bible is sufficient.
  • Mormonism: The Bible is joined with the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and continuing prophetic revelation.

That is a major divide. Biblical Christianity does not need a later “restoration” because the faith was once delivered.

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Jude 1:3 (KJB)

Difference In The Nature Of God

  • Biblical Christianity: There is one eternal God.

“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” Psalm 90:2 (KJB)

  • Mormonism: God is understood in a way that allows for exaltation, eternal progression, and humans becoming like God. LDS materials describe becoming like God as central to their gospel understanding.

Difference In Jesus Christ

  • Biblical Christianity: Jesus Christ is the eternal Word, God manifest in the flesh.

“And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.” John 20:28 (KJB)

  • Mormonism: Jesus is honored, but Mormon doctrine places Him within a broader framework of premortal existence, heavenly parents, spirit children, exaltation, and restored temple ordinances that is foreign to the Bible.

Difference In Salvation And Eternal Life

  • Biblical Christianity: Salvation is a free gift by grace through faith.
  • Mormonism: Full exaltation is connected to faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, obedience, temple ordinances, and eternal marriage.

Biblical Christianity says the believer is complete in Christ.

“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:10 (KJB)

Mormonism is not merely another Christian denomination. It is another gospel with another authority structure, another view of God, and another view of eternal destiny. Is your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, or in a restored church, modern prophets, temple ordinances, and becoming exalted?

The biblical gospel does not need to be restored by Joseph Smith. It needs to be believed.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved,” 1 Corinthians 15:1,2 (KJB)

Biblical Christianity Versus Jehovah’s Witnesses

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached,” 2 Corinthians 11:4 (KJB)

Jehovah’s Witnesses use Bible terminology, speak much about Jehovah, and are known for door-to-door evangelism, but they deny core biblical Christianity by rejecting the deity of Jesus Christ, denying the Trinity, altering the doctrine of salvation, and submitting Scripture to Watchtower interpretation.

Jehovah’s Witness teaching identifies Jesus Christ as Michael the archangel; JW.org says Jesus has “an archangel’s voice” because “he is the archangel, Michael.” Watchtower material also states, “Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel.”

Difference In Jesus Christ

  • Biblical Christianity: Jesus Christ is God.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (KJB)

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses: Jesus is not Almighty God, but a created being identified as Michael the archangel. That is not a small ‘doctrinal disagreement’. That is another Jesus.

Difference In The Godhead

  • Biblical Christianity: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one God.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7 (KJB)

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses: They reject the Trinity and deny the full deity of Jesus Christ and the personhood of the Holy Ghost.

Difference In Salvation

  • Biblical Christianity: Salvation is by grace through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” Colossians 1:14 (KJB)

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses: Salvation is connected to association with Jehovah’s organization, endurance, obedience, and works. Biblically, good works follow salvation; they do not purchase it.

Difference In Final Destiny

  • Biblical Christianity: The saved are with Christ, and the lost face real judgment.

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15 (KJB)

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses: They teach a distinction involving the 144,000 and an earthly hope for others, along with rejection of eternal conscious punishment as historically taught in biblical Christianity. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not simply have a different translation or a different denominational structure. They preach another Jesus.

Is Jesus Christ your Lord and your God, or merely an exalted creature? A created Jesus cannot save sinners. Only the eternal Son of God can redeem by His blood.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (KJB)

A sinner does not need Rome’s sacraments, Joseph Smith’s restoration, or the Watchtower’s organization. A sinner needs the Lord Jesus Christ, His shed blood, and the gospel of the grace of God.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,” Acts 16:31 (KJB)
