Even the lowest-paid player in the NFL rakes in over a quarter of a million dollars a year. And now they are choosing to use their platform to create division between Americans, a civil war to split the country right down the middle.
What a strange America we live in. We have ANTIFA claiming to fight fascism by being fascist, Black Lives Matter claiming to fight racism by being racist, and now the NFL who seeks to create unity by sowing division. Call me cynical, but this has George Soros written all over it.
Today, as I was drinking my morning coffee, the Drudge Report alerted me to the fact that the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Baltimore Ravens were playing a game over in London. Drudge further went on to tell me that about two dozen players on both teams decided to kneel during the playing of our National Anthem. Making a statement, I suppose. Silly me, I thought they were there to play football.
NFL: Inside These Lines propaganda commercial
How ironic it is that this was their Super Bowl commercial 7 months ago, and today they “united” to bring division to America along racial lines. What a bunch of Alt-Left phonies.
No sooner had I digested that when I saw that my team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, decided to stay in the locker room during the playing of the Anthem at their game. Ben Roethlisberger made it a point of emphasis after the Steelers’ 23-17 overtime loss to the Bears to say that the team’s decision was a “unified one”, and that he has the “utmost respect” for “our troops and those that serve this country.”

Hmm. Sorry, but I don’t buy it. Staying in the locker room was an act of cowardice, an act of courage would have been for the entire team to publically stand with hands over hearts in respect to the country that has made them all wealthy.
This is the new “patriotism”, I suppose, an Orwellian nod to 1984’s “war is peace” type of mentality.
The NFL, today’s modern version of the Roman Coliseum, has decided that because football is the most popular sport in the country that somehow that entitles them to become the collective moral conscience of our nation. No, Mr. Goodell, it does not. And I will not be held hostage and lectured to by rich, millionaire crybabies whose only claim to fame is throwing and catching a ball.
When those players kneel and sit while our National Anthem is being played, the message they are sending is that they have no respect for the country that made them rich beyond their wildest dreams. Even the lowest-paid player in the NFL rakes in over a quarter of a million dollars a year. And now they are choosing to use their platform to create division between Americans, a civil war to split the country right down the middle.
Our American doctrine of Free Speech allows you to kneel while the Anthem is being played, that’s true. But that same doctrine of freedom also allows me to not be a party to it. To not spend my time viewing it or spend even one red cent of my hard-earned money supporting it. And that’s exactly what I am going to do.
I have been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan since 1974, but I did not watch one single second of today’s Steelers game, and I won’t watch the video highlights on YouTube either. I have “taken a knee” to the National Football League to make the only protest that amounts to anything when dealing with mega-rich corporations. Boycott, a complete, total and immediate boycott.
I agree with our president on this issue, but my protest has nothing to do with Donald Trump. I am boycotting the NFL because I refuse to be used as a pawn in what is obviously a well thought out plan to divide America along racial lines.
So go ahead and kneel all you want during the National Anthem, and raise your fist in the black power salute because guess what? I won’t be watching you do it. And guess what else? I just happen to think there will be more than a couple of million other true patriots of this great nation not watching you along with me.
