After a warning from the head of three power companies, France’s government has announced that it will restart a coal-fired plant this winter.

Well, well, what an interesting turn of events that we have developing right now in Climate Change obsessed France, coals plants coming back online. Will wonders never cease? Nope. As the war in Ukraine continues to grind on, and the possibility of not having enough power to make it through this upcoming winter season, France is turning back to coal as a backup power source. I wonder what Greta Thunberg will have to say about that one?

Government to Restart Coal Plant After Power Company Tsars’ Warning

FROM BREITBART NEWS: A coal-fueled power plant in the north-east of France is due to be restarted by the country’s government this winter in order to better combat energy insecurity resulting in part due to ongoing hostilities with Russia. The announcement that the Saint-Avold will be brought back online comes shortly after the heads of three major energy companies in France warned that the general public must “immediately” cut back on energy use to better enable officials to better handle energy insecurity.

According to broadcaster RTL, officials have said that the coal-fired plant is being brought back into service “a precaution, given the Ukrainian situation”.

Le Figaro meanwhile notes officials as saying that they will be including so-called “environmental compensation” as part of the plan to reactivate the plant, with the publication claiming that an environmentally neutral reopening for the plant has been demanded by government. The announcement that authorities will reopen the plant comes shortly after the head of three major energy companies in France — Engie, EDF and TotalEnergies — warned that the public must start conserving energy straight away in order to secure the country’s energy situation.

“Acting this summer will allow us to be better prepared to tackle next winter and in particular to preserve our gas reserves,” the power tsars wrote. “We therefore call for awareness and collective and individual action so that each of us – each consumer, each company – changes their behaviour and immediately limits their consumption of energy, electricity, gas and petroleum products.”

“The effort must be immediate, collective and massive,” they went on to say, emphasising that “every gesture” towards this goal “counts”.

Environmentally obsessed Germany has also announced that it will be revving up its own coal-burning capabilities in order to better deal with the ongoing energy crisis, with the country’s economic and climate Tsar, Robert Habeck, saying that the measures are necessary to conserve much-needed gas.

“To reduce gas consumption, less gas must be used to generate electricity. Coal-fired power plants will have to be used more instead,” he previously said, though admitted that he found it “bitter” that his green agenda-driven government had to rely on such a high emission fuel.

The official however has remained adamant that Germany’s nuclear power plants — the last three of which are due to be shut down by the end of the year — will not be used to buffer energy supply problems, despite calls from all sides for Germany to keep them online. So bad is the situation that even officials within the climate-crazy EU are now calling on Germany to keep using the plants.

“There are still three nuclear power plants operating in Germany, this corresponds to 25% of their electricity consumption,” Internal Market tsar Thierry Breton is reported as saying.

“Rather than deciding to cut them at the end of the year as provided for in the coalition agreements, we can perhaps say to ourselves that we will continue them for one or two years in order to solve this problem,” he went on to say. READ MORE

Return to coal? Austria to reopen power station amid fears of Russian gas shortage

Austria is set to reopen its Mellach coal power plant two years after it was shut down to ensure the country can meet its energy demands amid fears of a shortage of gas from Russia. A host of other European countries, including Germany and the Netherlands, are also considering using coal to make up for shortfalls in Russian gas, moving back to an energy source much of the continent has sought to phase out in recent years in order to meet carbon reduction targets.

It still carries all those symbolic meanings, though its currency now works globally, cleaving the world into civilized cooling and barbaric heat. Despite what we assume, as a means of weathering a heat wave, individual air-conditioning is terribly ineffective. It works only for those who can afford it. But even then, their use in urban areas only makes the surrounding micro-climate hotter, sometimes by a factor of 10ºF, actively threatening the lives of those who don’t have access to cooling. (The sociologist Eric Klinenberg has brilliantly studied how, in a 1995 Chicago heat wave, about twice as many people died than in a comparable heat wave forty years earlier due to the city’s neglect of certain neighborhoods and social infrastructure.)

Ironically, research suggests that exposure to constant air-conditioning can prevent our bodies from acclimatizing to hot weather, so those who subject themselves to “thermal monotony” are, in the end, making themselves more vulnerable to heat-related illness. The troubled history of air-conditioning suggests not that we chuck it entirely but that we focus on public cooling, on public comfort, rather than individual cooling, on individual comfort.

Ensuring that the most vulnerable among the planet’s human inhabitants can keep cool through better access to public cooling centers, shade-giving trees, safe green spaces, water infrastructure to cool, and smart design will not only enrich our cities overall, it will lower the temperature for everyone. It’s far more efficient this way.

To do so, we’ll have to re-orient ourselves to the meaning of air-conditioning. And to comfort. Privatized air-conditioning survived the ozone crisis, but its power to separate—by class, by race, by nation, by ability—has survived, too. Pope Francis issued a dire report on the state of the planet Tuesday, insisting the earth is suffering the worst environmental crisis of its history, as he preached the green gospel of Gaia worship.

The Roman pontifex maximus, so called, is launching his Laudato Si platform which is designed to encourage his 1.5 billion Catholic followers to worship Mother Earth in the green gospel of Climate Change. But astute longtime readers of NTEB know this is much more than Climate Change, this is the pagan religion of Gaia worship which Romans 1 warns us about. Interestingly, Pope Francis invites Catholics to ‘to begin a 7-year journey to total sustainability’ with his green gospel of Gaia. Can anyone else tell me something in the Bible that lasts for a 7-year period?🤔

The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:10-13 in your King James Bibles that God is going to set this Earth on fire, and burn it till it no longer exists. Pope Francis Calls for ‘Green Economics,’ ‘Green Education,’ ‘Green Spirituality’ in Green Gospel of Gaia Worship

FROM BREITBART NEWS: For a long time, the earth “has suffered from the wounds that we cause due to a predatory attitude, which makes us feel like owners of the planet and its resources and authorizes us to irresponsibly use the goods that God has given us,” the pope declared in a video message for the launch of the Laudato Si platform, a seven-year ecological project.

“Today, these wounds are dramatically manifested in an unprecedented ecological crisis that affects the soil, air, water and, in general, the ecosystem in which human beings live,” he warned in his Spanish-language address. “The current pandemic has also brought to light even more acutely the cry of nature and that of the poor, who are the ones who suffer the most,” he added.

The pontiff went on to call for “a new ecological approach” to transform “the way humans inhabit the world, our lifestyles, our relationship with the earth’s resources and, in general, our way of seeing human beings and living life.”

Today the “Laudato Si’ Year” concludes. I thank those who participated with many initiatives throughout the world. It is a journey that we must continue together, listening to the cry of the Earth and of the poor.

As he has done on other occasions, the pope urged the adoption of an “integral human ecology,” which entails “environmental issues but also man in his totality and becomes capable of listening to the cry of the poor and of being a leaven for a new society.”

Pope Francis also warned that “our selfishness, our indifference, and our irresponsibility” threaten the future of the generations to come.

“I therefore renew my appeal,” he said, “let us take care of our Mother Earth, let us overcome the temptation of selfishness that makes us predators of resources, let us cultivate respect for the gifts of the Earth and creation, let us finally inaugurate an eco-sustainable lifestyle and society. From the hands of God we have received a garden; we cannot leave our children a desert,” he declared.

The pope went on to praise the work of the Laudato Si project, adding that the pursuit of integral ecology entails “responding to the cry of the Earth, responding to the cry of the poor, green economics, adopting a simple lifestyle, green education, green spirituality, and community engagement.”

“There is hope,” he concluded. “We can all collaborate, each with their own culture and experience, each with their own initiatives and capacities, so that our mother Earth recovers her original beauty and creation can shine again according to God’s plan.” READ MORE
