Seeing Is No Longer Believing As DeepFake Videos Created With AI Makes Fantasy Indistinguishable From Reality, And That’s A Huge Problem

Imagining how a deepfake video could quickly create a very scary real-world scenario is not hard, and the people at DARPA on working on it around the clock.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats responded by saying emerging technology like deepfakes pose “a major threat to the United States and it’s something the intelligence community needs to be restructured to address.”

For many of you reading this article, you are probably not familiar with the term ‘deepfake’, but from the sound of it, you can most likely figure it out. A deepfake is the combining of real images of people with real voices, then processing it through very powerful AI, with the end result being a video of a real person in their own voice saying and doing things they have never said or done. If that doesn’t terrify you, it’s only because you haven’t stopped to consider the possibility of you being the star of a deepfake production.

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Revelation 13:15 (KJV)

This sin-cursed world is heading at breakneck speed to its date with destiny where the armies of Antichrist will meet to do battle with the King of Kings and His redeemed army on white horses in the Battle of Armageddon at the Second Coming, after the born again Church is removed in the Pretribulation Rapture. But along the way, you can absolutely expect to see things you never thought possible.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel 12:4 (KJV)

Our love affair with technology is a funny thing. We speak into a box we hold in our hands, and never give it a second thought how on earth it is possible to look into that box to see and hear the person on the other end. AI is almost at a point now where the 2D imagery is getting ready to step out of the box and become 3D.  And as we hurtle headlong into this scary and uncertain future, it’s time to get out of the box and back into The Book.

‘Deepfake’ videos that can make anyone say anything worry U.S. intelligence agencies like DARPA

FROM FOX 5 NY: A video of a seemingly real news anchor, reading a patently false script saying things like the “subways always run on time” and “New York City pizza is definitely not as good as Chicago” gives a whole new meaning to the term fake news.

But that fake news anchor is a real example of a fascinating new technology with frightening potential uses. I was stunned watching the Frankenstein mix of Steve Lacy’s voice coming out of what looks like my mouth.

The video is what is known as a deepfake: a computer-generated clip using an algorithm that learned my face so well that is can recreate it with remarkable accuracy.

My generated face can be swapped onto someone else’s head (like that original video with Steve) or it can be used to make me look like I’m saying things I’ve never said. For this piece, I worked with Lyu and his team at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Albany.

For many people, seeing is believing. “I would say it’s not 100% true anymore,” Lyu said.

Their deepfake research is funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, which acts as the research and development wing of the U.S. Defense Department. They’re working to develop a set of tools the government and public can use to detect and combat the rise of deep fakes.

“What we’re doing here is providing a kind of detection method to authenticate these videos,” Lyu said.

What’s more, deepfakes technically aren’t that hard to make. All it takes is a few seconds of video of someone, a powerful computer, and some code, which Lyu and his team don’t release publicly.

“The real danger, I believe, is the fact that the line between what is real and what is fake is blurred because of the existence of this kind of technology,” Lyu said.

But it is about more than just a news anchor face-swap experiment. The power to make a video of anybody saying anything is alarming.

Even the former president is raising red flags. The funny thing is (as you see in the video) that is not Barack Obama. The video is a deep fake. Actor Jordan Peele is impersonating Obama’s voice. The algorithm is doing the rest. It’s meant to be a PSA about the dangers of deep fakes.

“Moving forward we need to be more vigilant with what we trust from the internet,” fake Obama warns.

Imagining how a deepfake video could quickly create a very scary real-world scenario is not hard.

Say, for instance, a video of a world leader, such as Vladimir Putin, pops up on the internet declaring war on another country, or, maybe, the head of a major company announcing his or her abrupt resignation, putting the markets in a tailspin.

Videos like that can spread like wildfire before fact checkers, journalists, and governments even have the chance to authenticate it. And the U.S. government is paying attention. Deep fakes were a topic at the recent worldwide threats hearing in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Making a deepfake video is a lot like translating between languages. Services like Google Translate use machine learning – computer analysis of tens of thousands of texts in multiple languages – to detect word-use patterns that they use to create the translation. source

“Are we organized in a way where we could possibly respond fast enough to a catastrophic deep fakes attack?” Sen. Ben Sasse, a Nebraska Republican, asked a panel of the heads of the nation’s intelligence agencies.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats responded by saying emerging technology like deep fakes pose “a major threat to the United States and it’s something the intelligence community needs to be restructured to address.”

House Intelligence Committee member Sean Patrick Maloney told Fox 5 News, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.”

“Because when you start to get a look at these deep fake videos, which are compelling but false, it’s an order of magnitude more serious than anything we’ve seen to date,” Maloney added. “That’s why it’s important we get there first, deter the bad guys, and ask the private sector to step up.”

That’s where Lyu’s research comes in. His main focus is actually detecting and preventing deep fakes.

“It’s a cat-and-mouse kind of game. Each side wants to get a little bit of an edge over the other,” he said. “And this actually, for the good part, gives us motivation and incentive to grow this research field.”

But as the research grows, so will the quality of the deep fake videos being produced, which will make differentiating between what’s real and what isn’t increasingly difficult. That is why they’re working to develop this set of tools right now to be deployed down the road.

“Our challenge is: how do you build the algorithm to identify the anomaly?” Lt. Gen. Robert Ashley, the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, offered at that recent Senate threats hearing. “Because every deep fake has a flaw. At least now they do.” READ MORE

Controversial And Decidedly Non-Christian AI App Called ‘Text With Jesus’ Depicts Satan As A ‘Champion Of Love, Respect And Understanding’, Stay Away!

Welcome to the AI app world of ‘Text With Jesus,’ where you’re just a tap away from a conversation with the holy – and, for a price, the not-so-holy like Satan.

One of the greatest evils to rise up in our technology-saturated time in which we live is AI, otherwise known as artificial intelligence, and Elon Musk was quite correct when he said that using it would be akin to ‘summoning the demon’. A new smart phone app called ‘Text With Jesus’, built on AI, allows you to have a ‘text conversation with Jesus’, and if you so desire, with Satan himself. But this is, obviously, not the Jesus of the Bible, and it is also obviously not the Satan of the Bible, either. The Satan on this app prepares you to receive Antichrist if you miss the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church.

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJB)

Sadly, I predict that this demonic ‘Text With Jesus’ app will be quite popular, with the most amount of users coming from the evangelical, charismatics and Roman Catholics who can never seem to say no to anything of a pagan nature. We have been telling you for the past 3-and-a-half years that this unsaved world is being groomed to receive the coming Antichrist, this app is just the tip of the iceberg. Don’t buy it, don’t use it, don’t let your children use it, and stay far away from it. It’s unholy. The app is free is you want to ‘text’ with Jesus, but you’ll pay a premium to ‘text’ with Satan. Oh, yeah.

Controversial new AI app allows you to text with Jesus – and Satan

FROM THE NY POST: It’s not every day that the spiritual realm intersects with smartphone tech.  But in the era of chatbots and AI, even the biblical figures aren’t immune. For those longing for a more personal connection to their faith, this app might be the digital salvation they’re seeking.

Designed with devoted Christians in mind, “Text With Jesus” promises interaction with figures like Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Peter, and Matthew. This app wears its spirituality on its screen, guiding you through its queries with responses mined from the depths of the Bible’s rich text.

There’s a certain audacity in allowing you to go beyond the traditional interactions one might expect. Although the full range of figures and unlimited messaging are only available to premium subscribers, the app is free to download and use on all eligible devices.

By shelling out just $2.99/month, you can embark on a journey through some of the Bible’s more intricate dialogues, like Adam and Eve’s narrative or the dawn of humanity.

The devil is in the details: The app’s most controversial feature

The app’s most controversial feature: conversations with Satan himself. Expectations can be deceiving, especially in the world of AI. Satan, historically the symbol of temptation and deceit, dons a surprisingly mellow avatar in this app.

Users anticipating fiery dialogues or cunning deceptions might be left scratching their heads.

Instead, the Prince of Darkness champions love, respect, and understanding — values synonymous with biblical virtues. As if to ensure a modern flavor, each devilish interaction ends with a “smiling face with horns” emoji.

It’s an odd mix of solemnity and sass, which will undoubtedly spark reactions from traditionalists and tech enthusiasts alike. Now, whether it’s a deliberate attempt to challenge perceptions or just a programming oversight remains a topic for debate.

However, it’s important to note that interaction with Satan is turned off by default and must be manually enabled by you if you choose to engage with this figure. The app points out that, “the portrayal is rooted in Christian teachings, and users have full control over their engagement with all figures within the app.”

“Our app is a tool for exploration, education, and engagement with biblical narratives, and it is not intended to replace or mimic direct communication with divine entities, which is a deeply personal aspect of one’s faith,” the app creators say on their website. “The AI-powered app does not claim to provide actual divine insights or possess any form of divine consciousness, but simply uses its language model to generate responses based on a wide corpus of biblical and religious texts.”

With this in mind, “Text With Jesus” might be the forerunner in a digital faith movement, a beacon lighting the way for a new kind of spiritual exploration. The amalgamation of centuries-old teachings and modern tech poses fascinating queries about the evolution of faith in a digitized age. Google Is Testing An AI Tool Named ‘Genesis’ That Will Create News Stories Using Artificial Intelligence And Be Disseminated Through The Legacy Media

Google is testing an AI tool named ‘Genesis’ that uses artificial intelligence technology to produce news stories, pitching it to news organizations including The New York Times, The Washington Post and News Corp.

Of course, the old joke about the legacy news media has long been that the stories are written with artificial intelligence because it’s not real news, going all the way back to the original fake news known as ‘Yellow Journalism’. But all that is about to change. The global dominators at Google are working on a new project, codenamed ‘Genesis’, that will use AI technology like ChatGPT to write news stories and articles for all the main fake news merchants. And the fact they’ve named it ‘Genesis’? Don’t get me started.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel 12:4 (KJB)

Here’s a question for you. What do you get when you take self-driving vehicles, AI, 15-minute cities, a global vaccine agenda and add them all together? You get Agenda 2030. What happens to all the people? As Yuval Noah Harari has stated, the ‘useless people’ are going to have to ‘go away’. Shocked? Surprised? You needn’t be, population reduction has long been the goal of eugenicists like Bill Gates, and stated boldly in open areas like where the Georgia Guidestones used to be. I say ‘used to be’ because someone blew them up back in 2022. The first ‘commandment’ of the Guidestones was ‘Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.’ That’s where all this is headed.

Google Tests AI Tool Named ‘Genesis’ That Is Able to Write News Articles

FROM DNYUZ: The tool, known internally by the working title Genesis, can take in information — details of current events, for example — and generate news copy, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the product. One of the three people familiar with the product said that Google believed it could serve as a kind of personal assistant for journalists, automating some tasks to free up time for others, and that the company saw it as responsible technology that could help steer the publishing industry away from the pitfalls of generative A.I.

Some executives who saw Google’s pitch described it as unsettling, asking not to be identified discussing a confidential matter. Two people said it seemed to take for granted the effort that went into producing accurate and artful news stories. A Google spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Times and The Post declined to comment.

“We have an excellent relationship with Google, and we appreciate Sundar Pichai’s long-term commitment to journalism,” a News Corp spokesman said in a statement, referring to Google’s chief executive.

Jeff Jarvis, a journalism professor and media commentator, said Google’s new tool, as described, had potential upsides and downsides.

“If this technology can deliver factual information reliably, journalists should use the tool,” said Mr. Jarvis, director of the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.

“If, on the other hand, it is misused by journalists and news organizations on topics that require nuance and cultural understanding,” he continued, “then it could damage the credibility not only of the tool but of the news organizations that use it.”

News organizations around the world are grappling with whether to use artificial intelligence tools in their newsrooms. Many, including The Times, NPR and Insider, have notified employees that they intend to explore potential uses of A.I. to see how it might be responsibly applied to the high-stakes realm of news, where seconds count and accuracy is paramount.

But Google’s new tool is sure to spur anxiety, too, among journalists who have been writing their own articles for centuries. Some news organizations, including The Associated Press, have long used A.I. to generate stories about matters including corporate earnings reports, but they remain a small fraction of the service’s articles compared with those generated by journalists. End Times Villain Yuval Noah Harari Says The World Is On The Verge Of A New Religion Whose Sacred Texts Will Be Written By AI Like ChatGPT

The world is on the verge of a new AI religion created by artificial intelligence like ChatGPT, end times villain Yuval Noah Harari recently said.

Yuval Noah Harari from an end times perspective is a fascinating figure, like Klaus Schwab, he is a near-cartoon character pulled in from Central Casting in Hollywood, only he’s real and what he represents is sinister and terrifying. Your King James Bibles tells you that the majority of the Jews in the time of Jacob’s trouble will follow the Antichrist to not only worship him but to work with him as well. These are the people that the book of Revelation lays out for you so very clearly, and Yuval Noah Harari is one of those people.

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:4 (KJB)

So, are we really heading for a world run by AI and software like ChatGPT, with a new religion at the center? You better believe it, brother, that’s what the Bible warns you about, that’s what’s coming, and that’s what’s happening right now. History has proven conclusively that man is ultimately incapable of building anything good, perfect and beautiful, and that everything he touches will lead you to world wars, concentration camps and other such like horror. Look how great the Bible starts off in Genesis 1:1“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”, and then see where it winds up in Genesis 50:26“…and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.” What went wrong? Man went wrong, and has stayed that way ever since. The Bible shows you that all dispensations end in failure, and nothing will change until we get past Revelation 20 and the Great White Throne Judgment. Want to avoid the coming time of the new AI religion? Get saved and get your ticket on Flight #777.

Yuval Noah Harari said AI like ChatGPT could attract worshippers to a new faith with a new religion

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: The academic – known for his bestselling book Sapiens – said software such as ChatGPT could attract worshippers by writing its own sacred texts. Speaking at a science conference, he said AI had crossed a new frontier by ‘gaining mastery’ of our language and was now capable of using it to shape human culture. Dr Harari used the event to add his voice to growing calls for urgent regulation over the sector, which experts have warned is amid a ‘dangerous’ arms race.

In the future we might see the first cults and religions in history whose revered texts were written by a non-human intelligence. Of course, religions throughout history claimed that their holy books were written by unknown human intelligence. This was never true before. This could become true very, very quickly, with far-reaching consequences.’

Speaking at the Frontiers Forum event in Switzerland, he warned machines now had the tools to ‘cocoon us in a Matrix-like world of illusions’, referring to the 1999 sci-film film. The Hollywood blockbuster depicts a dystopian future in which humanity is unknowingly trapped inside a simulated reality that intelligent machines have created to distract humans while using their bodies as an energy source.

He said: ‘Contrary to what some conspiracy theories assume, you don’t really need to implant chips in people’s brains in order to control them or to manipulate them. For thousands of years, prophets and poets and politicians have used language and storytelling in order to manipulate and to control people and to reshape society. Now AI is likely to be able to do it. And once it can… it doesn’t need to send killer robots to shoot us. It can get humans to pull the trigger.’ READ MORE

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by best-selling author of ‘Sapiens’ and historian Yuval Noah Harari and Chief Executive of anti-piracy business TCAT Nick Stewart to discuss the current status of Artificial Intelligence and the potential threat it poses to humankind.

The ‘Godfather of AI’ leaves Google amid ethical concerns

Geoffrey Hinton, nicknamed the Godfather of AI, told The New York Times he resigned as Google VP and engineering fellow in April to freely warn of the risks associated with the technology. The researcher is concerned Google is giving up its previous restraint on public AI releases to compete with ChatGPT, Bing Chat and similar models. In the near term, Hinton says he’s worried that generative AI could lead to a wave of misinformation. You might “not be able to know what is true anymore,” he says. He’s also concerned it might not just eliminate “drudge work,” but outright replace some jobs – which I think is a valid worry already turning into a reality.
