In a video of an Easter Sunday sermon at Whites Ferry Road Church in his hometown of West Monroe, La., that has gone viral, the “Duck Dynasty” star – who was suspended for making similar comments in a GQ interview last year – told the congregation that he refuses to back down on his beliefs.

His doctrine is a little shaky, and he holds an incorrect view on baptism (water baptism does not save you) in regards to salvation by grace through faith alone, but I give him credit for standing up taking a shot at being a preacher. Pray that the Lord will correct Phil’s doctrine, and use his great zeal for His service.
West Monroe, La. (CBS HOUSTON) – Phil Robertson, star of the popular “Duck Dynasty” television show, defended his controversial comments on homosexuality, giving a church sermon in which he ridiculed media coverage and others “blurring” the lines between “sinners” and homosexuals.
In a video of an Easter Sunday sermon at Whites Ferry Road Church in his hometown of West Monroe, La., that has gone viral, the “Duck Dynasty” star – who was suspended for making similar comments in a GQ interview last year – told the congregation that he refuses to back down on his beliefs.
Robertson called the media outrage absurd over his GQ interview comparing homosexuality to bestiality and various other “sinners.”
“They were mad at me,’ he tells the congregation. “You say, ‘Why’d they get mad at you?’ Cause instead of acknowledging their sin, like you had better do, they railed against me for giving them the truth about their sins. Don’t deceive yourselves.”
Robertson’s volume increased as he paraphrased the Corinthians verse of Biblical “sinners.”
“Neither the sexually immoral, nor the idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God,” exclaimed Roberts, to a clapping audience.
“The news media didn’t even know it was a verse! They thought I was just mouthing off. ‘Is homosexual behavior a sin?’ The guy asked me. I said, ‘Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived.’
“That list of sins covered me in my past life,” continued Robertson. “We’ve all been there. The reason we’re here today is to remind us of the gospel that’s preached.”
In the controversial GQ interview, which led to his suspension from the popular television show, Robertson likened the “blurred” lines between what’s right and wrong in modern society.
“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine,” he said in the interview. “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men… Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers – they won’t inherit the kingdom of God.”
His comments were decried as homophobic by many, with his genital description becoming a focal point for much of his news media criticism: “It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” Roberts said in the interview.
“That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
