Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is claiming that his people are historically at home in Israel, and are the descendants of the biblical Canaanites.

I like this story, it brings a smile to my face and I will tell you why. I am been saying for years now that I view the so-called Palestinians are the descendants of the biblical Canaanites, and now Mahmoud Abbas is agreeing with me. In the article below you will read about why these claims he is making are ‘problematic’, but the ‘scholars’ all come to the wrong conclusion as to why such claims are problematic. The prophet Zechariah shows us the real scoop.

“In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 14:20,21 (KJV)

The Canaanites going all the way back to the book of Joshua have been the enemy of Israel, so if Abbas claims they are actually Canaanites, certainly the fact that the two groups remain enemies today puts us on a solid footing. But the prophet Zechariah shows us that, when King Jesus appears at the Second Coming and establishes His Kingdom in Israel, the Canaanites will be forcibly removed from the land and driven out.

That means that the Canaanites need to still exist as an identifiable people group in the end times, they can’t be driven out if they don’t exist, right? And according to the words of Mahmoud Abbas himself, now they do! This is called being ‘hoist by your own petard‘. I love seeing Bible prophecy being played out.

“We are the Canaanites,” he said, according to a report from Asharq Al-Awsat.

The land is for its inhabitants, this land is for the Canaanites who were here 5,000 years ago, and we are the Canaanites.”

However, that claim proves to be problematic, according to an analysis from Breaking Israel News.

The publication quoted Mordechai Kedar, a senior lecturer in the Department of Arabic at Bar-Ilan University, who said all Arab peoples first arrived in the land of Judea with the Muslim invasion from the Arab Peninsula in A.D. 637.

“This includes the Palestinians who are proudly Arab,” he said. He accused Palestinians of creating “an entirely new version of history.”

“Imagine a Bedouin tribe whose water has dried up,” he said, “They move at night to a place where there are trees and water. They settle in and pitch their tents. In the morning, when the residents show up and ask what they are doing there, the Bedouins answer that they have lived there for thousands of years and they are indigenous.”

Rabbi Yosef Dayan, a member of the Sanhedrin and a descendant of King David, reacted to Abbas’ claim with humor.

“The rabbi related that the last time Prime Minister Netanyahu met with Abbas, he told him that he was willing to make concessions but first, he wanted to settle an old and outstanding debt between the Palestinians and the Jews. ‘When Moses came down from Sinai, a Palestinian stole the stone tablets. We want them back. They are precious artifacts worth millions of dollars.’ ‘No,’ Abbas retorted. ‘We don’t have them and we don’t keep those laws. We weren’t there.’ ‘Exactly,’ Netanyahu countered. ‘Now let’s talk about whose land it really is.’”

“Not only is the Palestinian claim to be descended from Canaan inconsistent with the history and archaeological evidence but it is also problematic from the Jewish side. If we accept Abbas’ claims, the Torah requires the Jews to annihilate the Canaanites that live inside Israel.”

Dayan said, however, the Palestinians are safe, since they are not Canaanites.

“Abbas claim would be no less problematic to Christians in light of the Palestinian claim that Jesus was a Palestinian,” BIN reported.

“This would necessarily mean that Jesus was a Canaanite which contradicts explicit references to Jesus’ Judean origins in the New Testament,” the report explained.

Further, “Abbas’ claim also contradicts scientific findings. A 2017 study sequenced the Canaanite genome from the remains of five individuals buried around 3,700 years ago in the ancient port city of Sidon, Lebanon. The results were compared against the DNA of 99 modern-day Lebanese residents. The study determined that more than 90 percent of the genetic ancestry of modern Lebanese is derived from ancient Canaanites.”

The report explained: “In historical reality, the Philistines were a biblical people of Greek origin who settled on ancient Israel’s coastal plain around the 12th century BCE. Approximately 600 years later, both the Philistine and Israelite nations were exiled by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, the Philistines in 604 BCE and the Kingdom of Judah in 586 BCE. The Philistine nation and identity were subsumed into the conquering Greek culture and the Philistines disappeared as a people soon after.” READ MORE

World War Trump In Iran Has Not Delivered Victory As The Enriched Uranium Remains Unsecured, The Nuclear Threat Survives, And The Regime Still Stands

The sad truth about Trump’s war with Iran is this: America has not won in any final sense, the enriched uranium is still not secured, and the regime remains firmly in place. Strip away the press conferences, the slogans, and the chest-thumping, and that is where things stand. Until those three facts change, calling this a victory is not reality. It’s blatant and overt gaslighting propaganda. President Trump has failed in the war which he, Pete Hegseth and Jared Kushner started, and history will not be kind to the outcome.

“Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.” Luke 14:31,32 (KJB)

For all the talk of strength, dominance, and victory, the central problems remain exactly where they were before the shooting started. Iran’s enriched uranium has not been fully secured, the mullahs are still sitting in power, and the regime that has spent decades chanting “Death to America” is still firmly in place. That is not victory. That is not peace through strength. That is a very expensive, very dangerous standoff dressed up as success. The hard reality is that even now, the nuclear issue remains unresolved. The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency said this week that any deal would require extremely detailed verification, and reported that Iran still possesses roughly 440.9 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% purity, alarmingly close to weapons-grade. He also warned that inspectors have been denied access to key sites. In plain English, that means the world still does not have full control over the most dangerous part of Iran’s nuclear program. And that is what makes all the victory laps ring hollow.

If the uranium is still not secured, then the mission is incomplete. If the regime still stands, then the threat structure still stands. If negotiations are still bogged down because Tehran refuses core U.S. demands on enrichment and broader war aims, then whatever was won on the battlefield has not been translated into strategic victory at the table. The latest talks ended without an agreement, with U.S. negotiators saying Iran would not commit to halting its nuclear weapons development.

This is the part the media class rarely wants to say out loud: bombing a problem is not the same thing as solving it. You can strike facilities, you can damage infrastructure, you can issue ultimatums, and you can flood television screens with martial language, but if the regime survives, retains leverage, and keeps the most critical elements of its nuclear program beyond secure international control, then the deeper problem remains alive.

This is the scoreboard that matters, and from that perspective, Iran is doing quite well.

Iran understands this better than Washington does. The regime does not need to “win” in the conventional American sense. It only needs to endure. It only needs to outlast the pressure, preserve its core power structure, and keep enough of its strategic assets intact to bargain from a position of survival. Right now, that appears to be exactly what has happened. The mullahs are bruised, but they are not gone. Their system is battered, but it is not broken. Their nuclear file is contested, but not closed. That is why the spin coming from both political camps is so dangerous. One side wants to sell this as a show of overwhelming American resolve. The other side wants to reduce it to just another policy dispute. But this is bigger than that. The Middle East is once again proving that military action without decisive end-state control produces exactly the kind of instability that keeps the fire burning. And when the fire is in Iran, around the Strait of Hormuz, with nuclear material still in play, the whole world feels the heat.

What Started As One Mother’s Plea For Her Two Incarcerated Sons Has Become An Open Door To Put King James Bibles Into The Hands Of Many Other Inmates

A mother contacted us today through our Bibles Behind Bars program with a heartfelt request for King James Bibles to be sent to her two sons incarcerated at Mid-State Correctional Facility, but the Lord had a much bigger plan in mind. What began as one mother refusing to give up on her boys has now opened the door for many more inmates at that facility to receive the word of God as well. What a timely reminder that when someone steps out in faith, the Lord can take that one act of obedience and multiply it into a blessing that reaches far beyond the original request! Loaves and fishes, anyone?

“When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.” Mark 8:19 (KJB)

After we got the request, I got on the phone with Chaplain Ellis at Mid-State Correctional, confirmed the woman’s two sons (name withheld) as being incarcerated there, and he told me that Mid-State holds a little over 1,500 inmates. I told him we could send him a bunch more than just the two Bibles, at no charge, and he was genuinely surprised and quite grateful for the offer, which he immediately took me up on. What started out as one mother with a burden for her sons to have God’s preserved word is now turning into an open floodgate of witness and ministry. This is why Bibles Behind Bars matters so much, because we are not merely sending books into prisons, we are sending the living word of God into places filled with darkness, regret, and brokenness.
