Through our Bibles Behind Bars program, we are using a network of pastors, sheriffs and Christian lay people to help us deliver King James Bibles to where they are needed most.

It has barely been one week since Hurricane Ian ripped through southwest Florida, but the Lord has been using NTEB in a mighty, mighty way already. Last weekend, we sent a much needed infusion of cash to a church in Milton, Florida, who is working with a church on the west coast, supplying them a truckload of food, water and toiletries. Those items were delivered on Monday, and a second shipment is now being readied. Today we processed our first request for 100 King James Bibles that will be sent directly to a pastor in Florida who will distribute them to those desperately in need of receiving them. Praise the Lord, we are getting something done!

“So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” Acts 19:20 (KJB)

As the Lord expands our operations, we are now in a position to be able to respond to hurricane victims with food, water and the gospel, at least we can here down South. Our Bibles Behind Bars program has created a network of concerned Christians, in ministry and law enforcement, from which we can now reach the most needy with the gospel. The speed at which all this has come together is astonishing as people are catching the vision for what the Lord is doing, and coming alongside to help us. A very special thanks to Virginia at the St. Lucie Jail, who has been burning up the phone lines making connections for us. Our partnership with Bible Literature and Missionary Foundation, the people who print and ship the larger orders of the Bibles we send out, are going to be working with us to create a branded NTEB King James Bible that will contain a warm, personal greeting on the inside, along with some scripture suggestions for the new or struggling Christian. How cool is that?

I want you to get excited about what the Lord is doing in our midst, with all of us together. We are not building a corporate headquarters or some crystal cathedral, no, no, a thousands times no! We are building an agile, responsive network to pinpoint precise locations to send Bibles where people on ground oversee their distribution. Nothing is lost, stolen or wasted, and God’s word is going out. Thank you for praying for our ministry, the Lord is certainly answering those prayers. The Pruntytown Correctional Center and Jail In West Virginia is the latest detention center to request King James Bibles for their inmates

So far in 2026, thousands of King James Bibles, scripture portions and books have been flying out the door, with new requests coming in on a daily basis. The Pruntytown Correctional Center and Jail holds just under 400 inmates, and Chaplain Elder has requested a Bible for each inmate. Up in north Georgia at the Murray County Jail, Chaplain Rick has run out of the thousands of Bibles we’ve sent him last year, and is requesting more. What a blessing to see the gospel being preached, souls being saved and the word of God going out!

From all the testimonies we’ve been getting, right around 1,000 souls have heard the gospel, believed it, and were given a Bible from Bibles Behind Bars. I am sure the actual numbers are much higher than that, but those are the ones we’ve directly heard about. When you donate to this outreach, you are first and foremost keeping the supply lines open for all the pastors, chaplains and volunteers who go to the jails and prisons to preach. Bibles Behind Bars is one of the very last jail and prison supply ministries who send out the King James Bibles and books exclusively. Chaplain Farwell Of The Elmira Correctional Facility In Upstate New York Writes To Tell Us Of The ‘Desperate Need’ Of Their Inmates For Copies Of The Word Of God

The Elmira Correctional Facility in update New York has an urgent need for hundreds of copies of God’s preserved word

Elmira Correctional is a maximum ‘A facility’ in upstate NY, writes Chap Farwell. He says “We house between 1500 – 1600 incarcerated men. Approximately 600 are in our Reception Center either as parole violators, recidivists, or first time offenders awaiting classification that will send them to another correctional facility to serve their sentences and to be enrolled into a program designed to correct their behavior. Most don’t have any faith life at all even though their families may have. However, when the reality of being incarcerated hits them they reach out in desperation, which is where we as chaplains come in.” Chaplain Farwell is serving on the front lines, and Bibles Behind Bars is keeping his supply lines open.

“But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” Genesis 39:21 (KJB)

Chap went on to say “Most ask for Bibles and for many it is their first one. As chaplains, we direct them to scripture and let them know that God loves them and quite possibly this is God’s plan for them. This is where they can encounter God, but they have to come to know God and the Bible helps them to do their part. We give these Bibles freely in the hope that they will give God a chance to speak to them and they can speak to God. We are constantly seeking Bibles and if you can be a source to provide them we would be most grateful. We especially need large print. Whatever you can do would be most appreciated. God bless you for your work.” Christian, God has called us to stand in the gap for the ‘least of these’ and to give them a copy of God’s preserved word. Come help us to do that, we need you!

Chaplain Marshall At The Leon County Detention Facility Says The Need For Bibles Is Urgent As Inmates Are Being Turned Away From Lack Of Supply

The Leon County Detention Facility in Florida is struggling with an inability to keep their inmates supplied with Bibles as the need is great but the supplies are few

As many of you know, our whole family was hit with the Subclade K super flu this week, and all activity here at NTEB basically stopped. Lori and I want to thank everyone for your fervent and effectual prayer for our recovery. This is why we are a praying people, so thank you, everyone. Well, while I am not yet fully recovered, I thought I had better dust off the keyboard and write about something. Nothing in the news really interested me, and then I saw an email come over from Chaplain Marshall at the Leon County Detention Facility in Florida. What he had to say snapped me right to attention. Time to write.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36 (KJB)

Dr. Marshall’s email says “We really need your help. We are struggling with constant requests for the bible. We have over 1000 inmates. I am reaching out because we should never have to turn an inmate away who is seeking Gods word. The need is urgent so please send us as many bibles as possible on an ongoing basis. May God Bless You. We can only accept PAPER Bibles.” This is the very reason for which Bibles Behind Bars was raised up for, to send God’s preserved word into as many jail and prison cells as possible. They need a thousand Bibles are quickly as possible, and with your help we can do it. The cost to send these Bibles out is $4,550, please pray about joining with us to get this done. Bibles Behind Bars is the chaplain’s lifeline that allows them to do the work God has called them to do. Help us to keep the gospel supply lines open!
