JIMMY CARTER: ‘I BELIEVE JESUS WOULD APPROVE OF GAY MARRIAGE’
“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” Romans 1:26,27 (KJV)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Laodicean Christian Jimmy Carter said in an interview that “Jesus would approve of any love as long as it was sincere”. Gay marriage? No problem for the sinless Saviour, says Jimmy. By Carter’s own testimony he has been a born-again Christian all his life, and now at the end of his life, this is his testimony that Jesus would approve of sodomy as long as the participants “were sincere”. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, maybe a little of both.
In an interview with HuffPost Live’s Marc Lamont Hill on Tuesday, former President Jimmy Carter sounded off on the issue of same-sex marriage on the heels of last month’s Supreme Court ruling declaring bans on same-sex marriage to be unconstitutional.
Carter took on the issue from a Biblical perspective and declared that it was his view Jesus would have approved of the gay marriage. “I believe Jesus would. I don’t have any verse in scripture,” Carter said. ‘I believe Jesus would approve gay marriage, but that’s just my own personal belief. I think Jesus would encourage any love affair if it was honest and sincere and was not damaging to anyone else, and I don’t see that gay marriage damages anyone else.” source
