Bibles Behind Bars Program Explodes As Chaplains And Preachers Ministering In Jails, Prisons And Detention Facilities Across America Request Bibles

The Bibles Behind Bars Program is not just blossoming, it is exploding as chaplains and preachers who minister in jails, prisons and detention centers across America are reaching out and asking for Bibles!

As I have said before, the Lord really snuck this one in, giving us a whole, new ministry without even realizing it at the time. I am, of course, talking about the Bibles Behind Bars program launched back in July of this year. Our heavenly appointment the Lord set up for us with the Saint Lucie County Jail being the ‘game changer’ to break out from the Free Bible and Gospel Tract Program into something quite new and different indeed.

“The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” Psalm 68:11 (KJB)

This Thursday I travel down south to meet Chaplain David and his assistant Virginia, she is the person who originally contacted us regarding getting some Bibles down to their facility. Please keep me in your prayers for traveling mercies, and that the Lord would give me an open door to minister the gospel of the grace of God to the souls there. Let me take a moment to give you just a piece of what the Bibles Behind Bars Program has been doing since its inception in July.

Saint Lucie County Jail – Ft. Pierce, Florida 1,654 Bibles
Martin County Jail – Ft. Pierce Florida 100 Bibles
Eliza Shirly House – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 150 Bibles
South Texas ICE Processing Center – Pearsall, Texas 1,100 Bibles
John B. Connally Unit – Kenedy, Texas 72 Bibles
Franklin County Sheriff’s Department – Carnesville, Georgia 100 Bibles
Chaplain James Remer – Taft, Oklahoma 48 Bibles
JH Lilley Correctional Center – Boley, Oklahoma 48 Bibles
Northeast OK Correctional Center – Vinita, Oklahoma 48 Bibles
Adair County Regional Jail – Columbia, Kentucky 110 Bibles
TDCJ E. Glossbrenner SAFPF Unit – San Diego, Texas 24 Bibles
Webb County Detention Center – Laredo, Texas 200 Bibles
Joseph Harp Correctional Center – Lexington, Oklahoma 48 Bibles

On top of this, we have another half dozen facilities just coming online now, like the facility in the Rio Grande, the Stephens County Detention Center and others all of whom are requesting King James Bibles in English and Spanish. All of this taking place since the middle of July, how amazing is that? The cost to send the Bibles in you see in just this list was $15,061.03, and it will cost roughly another $6,000.00 to get the newest facilities Bibles. Please note that all of this is an addition to the Free Bible Program that sends to individuals, street preachers, foreign missionaries and pastors around the world. But wait!! Did I mention the Cup Of Porridge Program? Wow, the Lord is really dumping it on us.

200 King James Bibles To The Tomoka Correctional Institution In Daytona Beach And A Single Ruckman Reference Bible To An Inmate In Rikers Island

Please pray for the inmates at the Tomoka Correctional Institution and the one inmate at Rikers Island who will be receiving God’s word through Bibles Behind Bars

Bibles Behind Bars, thanks to all y’all’s prayers and support, is off to a fast start with Bibles and books sent to the Delta Regional Unit in Arkansas, the Monroe Correctional Complex in Washington State, the Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando as well as Orange County Corrections also in Orlando. Today we received 2 requests, one for 200 Bibles to be sent to the Tomoka Correctional Institution in Daytona Beach, and an urgent request for a single Ruckman Reference Bible to be sent to an inmate housed at America’s most notorious jail, Rikers Island in New York. The belly of the Beast!

“Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;” Psalms 79:11 (KJB)

The request for the single Ruckman Reference Bible came to us from an inmate advocacy group in New York City, on behalf of the inmate who was being given a very hard time when he asked to have a Bible. Rikers Island jail is predominately Muslim, with mostly Muslim chaplains along with one or two Catholic Chaplains, so getting a Bible is a lot harder than you think it might be. We sent that Bible out, and ask you to pray for this inmate (name withheld), as well as us being able to put many more Bibles into Rikers. What a blessing that would be! Also pray for the hundreds of souls at Tomoka who will soon be receiving King James Bibles as well. Come help us, Christian, we need you!

The Massive Monroe Correctional Complex In Washington State Just Sent Us An Urgent Email Asking Specifically For King James Bibles For Their Inmates

We are sending a thousand King James Bibles to The Massive Monroe Correctional Complex In Washington State through Bibles Behind Bars

The Monroe Correctional Complex is actually made up of 5 incarceration facilities and they are the Washington State Reformatory Unit, Twin Rivers Unit, Sky River Treatment Center, Minimum Security Unit and the Intensive Management Unit. It houses 2,400 inmates across the spectrum all the way from minimum/medium up to maximum security. What they don’t have are King James Bibles, and Chaplain Donghyeok Kim has reached out to us to help him to change that.

“And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.” Acts 16:9 (KJB)

When I told Chaplain Kim that we would immediately send him 500 Bibles now, and the other 500 when he needed them, he was overjoyed. Imagine, no red tape, no votes from a ‘selection committee’ or any of that other nonsense. He told us of his need, and we had his request processed within minutes. That’s it. This is the miracle of Bibles Behind Bars, and why we’ve grown to be one of the largest jail and prison ministries in America exclusively supplying the King James Bible in English, and the Reina-Valera Gomez King James Bible in Spanish. Please pray for the work that Chaplain Kim is doing there in Monroe, along with his fellow chaplain, that souls will continue to be saved and that everyone who needs a King James Bible at Monroe Correctional Complex will receive one. Chaplain Hensley At The Delta Regional Unit In Dermott Arkansas That Holds 625 Inmates Has An Urgent Need For King James Bibles And Books

The Delta Regional Unit in Arkansas is in need of hundreds of King James Bibles and edifying Christian doctrinal literature for their inmate library

The Delta Regional Unit (DRU) is a medium-security correctional facility for men in Dermott, Arkansas, operated by the Arkansas Department of Correction. Established in 1990 with a population of 400, it has since grown to now house roughly 625 inmates at any given time. They hold weekly worship services, religious education, revivals, and pastoral counseling, facilitated by staff, volunteers, and people like Chaplain Hensley who wrote to us over the Christmas break with an urgent request for Bibles.

“To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” Isaiah 42:7 (KJB)

We are almost at the end of 2025, a year which saw a huge spike up in the number of requests for Bibles and books that come in for Bibles Behind Bars from one hundred different institutions. The Lord is using all of us to literally blanket the country, from southeast Florida all the way up to northwest Alaska and everywhere in between, with Bibles for inmates and detainees. Thank you to everyone who is praying for this vital outreach, we need prayer as never before. And thank you to everyone who donates on whatever level, large or small. Help us to send Bibles and books to the Delta Regional Unit, and please pray for the salvation of souls who are incarcerated there.
