The other day a shocking expression was used to describe the current conflict in Ukraine and Europe, Phase Zero, and it send palpable electricity across the internet. What is Phase Zero in relationship to WWIII? When people talk about ‘Phase Zero’, they’re borrowing a term from U.S. and NATO military doctrine and applying it to the current global tensions. In simpler terms, we are rapidly approaching an inflection point from which there may be no return. Ready or not, it’s coming and that’s the memo.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on now for 1,300 days, and if you’ve been following it, it’s a strange little war. It’s almost the kind of war that you would wage if your real target was something bigger than Ukraine. And I believe that’s what we’re seeing. Putin is waging a war he never seems to actually be trying to win, but instead wants to keep the conflict humming along with the dial perpetually set to ‘medium’. Why would he do that? He might do that if he was using Ukraine as the bait for an all-out war with NATO. I’ve been saying that for nearly two years and today it rings truer than ever. What about that ‘peace in the Middle East’? Hamas has already violated the agreement, has begun executing Gazan civilians, and seem to be rearming for more war.

FROM THE SUN US: It comes just weeks after Russian drones violated Polish airspace and after repeated sightings of unidentified drones in NATO’s skies. Relatively cheap, lethal, and widespread, the drone has become Russia’s weapon of choice against Ukraine. One Shahed-136 costs up to £38,000 – a huge contrast to the cost of a 9M728 Iskander K cruise missile at up to £1.5million.

Since the start of the year, Russia has fired more than 38,000 Shahed drones to wreak havoc in Ukraine – causing devastation on the battlefield and raining hell on civilian targets. With a maximum speed of 180km/h and a range of up to 2,500km, the drones explode when smashing into targets. But officials today warned drones like these could be headed for the UK’s airspace.

MP Tom Tugendhat, senior advisor to United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) and former Minister of State for Security, told The Sun: “That’s exactly what we were preparing for and I’m sure that the current government are continuing to prepare for.

“The reality is these weapon systems are not just targeting Ukraine, they’re not just targeting Poland. They’re being built to intimidate us.

Last month, NATO allies sprang into action after drones from Russia violated Poland’s airspace – an incident Mr Tugendhat believes was no accident. Meanwhile, Denmark, Norway, France and Germany are among the NATO countries where rogue drones have been spotted – sparking massive security concerns. Radek Sikorski, foreign minister and deputy prime minister of Poland, said it exposed a gap in Europe’s defences – and a further incident could have more disastrous consequences.

RUSSIA is preparing to deploy two million reserve soldiers to fight in the meatgrinder war in Ukraine

The Kremlin is planning to change a Russian law that would allow Vladimir Putin to send hundreds of thousands of soldiers to die on the battlefield. It comes as Putin’s battlefield casualties have soared past the bloody one million milestone after 44 months of meatgrinder war. Ukraine’s fierce resistance forced Russia to pay a mighty toll for every inch of land it has taken, and its advances remain painfully slow. The staggering milestone includes troops who have been killed or wounded so severely that they cannot fight on. Despite the devastating losses which have already ripped a scar in Russian society, Putin is preparing to mobilise more men.

The rule change, which is expected to be backed by the Russian parliament, would allow the country’s reservists to be called up for duty even during peacetime. The amendment is being done because Moscow still calls its invasion of Ukraine a “special military operation” and not a war. This currently restricts the Russian military to using up the two million reservists it has, which Russian defence bosses say are “professional soldiers”. Alexei Zhuravlev, deputy chairman of Russia’s parliamentary defence committee, said the force of two million reservists were “professionals in their field” but were currently being unused. READ MORE

NATO jets intercepted two Russian SU-30 warplanes carrying supersonic missiles over the Baltic Sea as Vladimir Putin continues to taunt the West with aggressive shows of Moscow’s military strength.

In the days leading up to the start of WWII, Hitler conducted deliberate provocations to see what sort of appetite his national neighbors had for military conflict. He started with small bites, and with each success, gradually increased the size of his operations until all-out war began in 1939. Vladimir Putin is now doing the exact same thing, launching provocations to see how fast nations react and with what level of intensity. Putin, at this point, is far ahead of any of his perceived rivals from a military stragedy standpoint, and he knows it. That’s the memo.

Moment NATO jets intercept Russian SU-30 warplanes carrying supersonic missiles over the Baltic as Putin taunts the West in latest WW3 show of strength

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: The Swedish Airforce announced that its JAS 39 Gripen fighters intercepted two Russian combat aircraft believed to be armed with KH-31 missiles, a supersonic anti-radiation weapon designed to destroy ships and air defences units. An Il-20 signals intelligence aircraft was also identified in the mission and swiftly escorted away.

‘The Swedish Air Force is always on alert,’ the nation’s Armed Forces account tweeted in the wake of the successful interception, which was carried out with the assistance of Denmark.

It comes amid urgent efforts by NATO to bolster the eastern frontier with greater defences, after Russia’s unprecedented intrusion into Polish airspace on September 9 when up to 23 drones entered the territory. Romania then accused Moscow of breaching its airspace on September 13, as Latvia reported a drone crashing in its east.

And on Monday, Poland said a civilian drone flew over its presidential palace and government buildings, describing the incident as another ‘provocation’.

Meanwhile, Putin has put NATO further on edge by conducting war games with Belarus as part of the Zapad 2025 drills, which have historically been used to test different military strategies ahead of invasions. The Swedish Airforce began conducting operations in international airspace over the southern Baltic Sea after suspicious reports of aircraft travelling without flight plans and with their transponders turned off.

Swedish fighter aircraft then identified and escorted away a Su-30SM and a Su-30SM2 from Russia’s Baltic Fleet. Both were fitted with Kh-31 air-to-surface missiles, weapons capable of traveling at speeds up to Mach 3 as they penetrate modern ship defences and destroy enemy vessels.

‘NATO has suddenly woken up – or finally woken up,’ said Hamish de Bretton-Gordon OBE, a former British Army colonel.

‘We played lip service to the peace dividend… really giving the impression to Putin that we weren’t that bothered and we didn’t care. So in a way, it is slightly our own fault. We’ve got a show resolve now, otherwise he will keep going.’

European allies have rushed to organise an ‘Eastern Sentry’ mission to bolster security on the eastern flank, including the deployment of two F-16 fighter jets and a frigate from Denmark, three Rafale fighter jets from France and four Eurofighter jets from Germany. READ MORE

Europe on edge as Putin’s forces gather for huge Zapad 2025 war games feared to be potential rehearsal of invasion as UN security council holds emergency meeting following Poland drone ‘attack’

Europe is holding it’s breath right now, and so is NATO, as together they watch a very energized Russia getting ready for their anti-West war games held every four years known as Zapad. Putin sent up a trial balloon earlier this week by launching a fleet of drones over Poland which, of course, were shot down by the Polish army. Russia is threatening war, and Europe believes him. Wars and rumours of wars everywhere you look, welcome to Zapad 2025 that starts today. That’s the memo.

Vladimir Putin could have easily won his war with Ukraine, years ago, but that was never his goal. His goal has always been to use the conflict with Ukraine as the bait on the hook to lure NATO into WWIII. While all the other nations, including the United States, plays the ‘short game’, reacting to every nuance, Putin is playing the steely-cold long game, and it is serving him well. If you have ever studied WWI and WWII from a biblical perspective, then you know why WWIII must come. The word ‘Zapad’ means ‘West’, as in the western nations of Europe and the United States. So the ‘Zapad 2025 War Games’ is preparation for war against the West. This is what Russia and Belarus are preparing for, and it’s right in front of your face, clear as day. WWIII is  right around the corner.

NATO’s eastern flank is preparing for Russian war games on its border – with Europe still on high alert from an unprecedented intrusion of drones this week.

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: The Kremlin will hold its sabre-rattling Zapad 2025 exercises with Belarus near Poland and Lithuania from Friday until next Tuesday, September 16. The drills come around roughly every four years. The last, in 2021, led to a massive buildup of forces in Belarus that were used to attack Ukraine several months later.

A former NATO official warned this year’s drills ‘could serve as a cover’ for a military build-up, with tens of thousands of troops expected to attend.

Germany’s chief of defence Carsten Breuer said that NATO would ‘be on our guard’ around the drills as NATO chief Mark Rutte said Russia was rapidly rearming. Rutte warned that coordinated attacks from Russia in Europe and China in Asia could trigger World War Three, Putin distracting NATO with an assault in Europe.

Zapad – meaning ‘West’ – is formally a defensive drill. Troops are expected to prepare repelling an attack, including airstrikes and sabotage, per official reports.

But Russia is expected to bring potentially tens of thousands of troops to rehearse, among other things, using its new nuclear-capable missile on Europe’s frontier.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk closed the border with Belarus over the ‘very aggressive’ nuclear drills. Some will take place just a few miles from NATO borders. Poland is still scrambling to respond to an incursion of 19 Russian drones that crossed over into its airspace overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tusk invoked Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty for the 8th time since NATO’s inception on Wednesday.

It serves as a starting point for major operations and will pave the way for consultations around the perceived threat to territory, independence or security. The U.N. Security Council will also hold an emergency meeting at Poland’s request to discuss the drone incursion, the Polish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday. READ MORE

Zapad 2025 Exercises: Poland Closes Border, Shoots Down Russian Drones

Poland is closing its border with Belarus at midnight on Thursday in response to the Russian-Belarusian “Zapad-2025” military exercises, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced. The drills, starting Friday in western Russia and Belarus, involve tens of thousands of troops and include simulations of nuclear-capable Oreshnik missile use. The move comes amid escalating tensions, with Belarus condemning the closure and Lithuania strengthening its border security. Poland has also engaged Russian drones violating its airspace, marking the first direct involvement of Polish and NATO forces. Airports were temporarily closed and debris from downed drones was reported in eastern Poland. NATO and EU officials are monitoring the situation closely as Europe braces for further provocations.
