Harold Camping’s False Prophecies Have Real, Deadly Consequences
False prophet Harold Camping causes devestation
Harold Camping, the 89-year-old leader whose study of the Bible convinced him and his followers that the world would end, has been described by his wife as “flabbergasted” that the apocalypse didn’t start over the weekend. There are some red faces out there. And if that’s all it had been, then one could argue no great harm had been done.
But while Camping and his followers try to figure out what went wrong (or right) — with news Monday night that he now says Judgment Day will come on Oct. 21 — the failed prophecy did more than just damage Camping’s credibility: It also appears to have caused death and serious injury to true believers.
A California woman named Lyn Benedetto was one of millions who heard Camping’s message, and became concerned that her daughters would suffer terribly in the coming apocalypse. She allegedly forced her daughters, 11 and 14, to lie on a bed and then cut their throats with a box cutter. She then tried to kill herself, though police arrested Benedetto and all three survived.
Others were not so lucky. An elderly man in Taiwan reportedly killed himself on May 5 ahead of the Rapture by jumping out of a building. He had heard that doomsday was imminent, and had taken recent earthquakes and tsunamis as early warning signs.
There were other unconfirmed reports of doomsday-related suicides around the world as well. source – Yahoo News

Verizon has issued an apology after sending out an alarming text message to New Jersey residents. State police say the bogus text urging people to “take shelter before 1:24 p.m.” was sent out at 12:26 p.m. Monday to residents in Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris and Ocean counties.

Unrepentant false prophet Harold Camping just said live on the air that October 21, 2011 will be the “real” day of judgment. HE SET A NEW DATE! People, either he is senile, insane, or….a false prophet. I am at a loss for words at this point. Harold Camping is not to be listened to for any reason other than as a cautionary tale for those of you who think that you can set a date for the Rapture. You can’t. And for those who persist, God sends a strong delusion that they might believe a lie. Harold Camping not only believes a lie, he teaches lies.

False prophet Harold Camping has said that he will make a public statement this evening vis his Open Forum radio program Click here to listen live online, starting at 8:30PM EST. SPOILER ALERT: he has no intention of apologizing, retracting or repenting in any way, shape or form.

Attempts to pull up the Family Radio website were unsuccessful at 11:19PM EST. No errors were returned, just an absence of pages. Looks like the webmaster was instructed to take everything down. NTEB will be interested to see if Family Radio still exists as a going concern come Monday, and what will be the health status – mental and/or physical – of cult leader Camping. In all of his pre-May 21 interviews, Camping would let out a hearty laugh when asked what the chances would be of him be wrong.

Well, his prophecy of the Rapture happening today at 6:00PM in New Zealand has failed to come true. Mr. Camping did say, however, that the bible “guaranteed it” would occur. Since it did not, Harold Camping is now officially a 2-time false prophet. NTEB will no longer report on anything he has to say.

Now NTEB has made a chilling discovery – Is this Harold Camping’s suicide note? On May 22, Family Radio with Harold Camping is a failed enterprise. There is no way he could remain in power there after this second failed attempt at prophecy. Too many lives will have been ruined, and too much trust lost. The only way the radio station could continue would be without him, and he knows it. And for this reason, we think that this note is his suicide goodbye note.

Harold Camping has finally attracted the level of attention that he so desperately has been seeking. The eyes of the world are now focused on his (false) end times prediction that the Rapture of the church will happen tomorrow, May 21, 2011. And by doing so, he has brought nothing but mockery and disdain to the true cause of Christ.

NTEB prediction: May 22nd will arrive, as each day before it, and Harold Camping and all his followers who have not died a natural death will still be here. And Family Radio will regroup, retool, and soon another book will come out on the “day of the rapture”, with no repentance or apology for the previous false one.
