Fort Campbell Troops On Ebola Mission Won’t Get Full Protective Gear
Troops from the 101st Airborne Division leading the military response to Ebola in West Africa will only need gloves and masks to protect themselves from the deadly virus, so said Gen. David Rodriguez at a Pentagon briefing Wednesday.
“They don’t need the whole suit – as such – because they’re not going to be in contact with any of the people,” the commander of U.S. troops in Africa said.
Soldiers from the 101st Airborne will primarily be building hospitals, ultimately leading what could be a contingent of 4,000 American service members. They’ll be housed either in tent cities at military airfields or in Liberian Ministry of Defense facilities, Rodriguez said.
Soldiers’ health will be monitored through surveys and taking their temperature on their way in and out of camps. If a service member does get sick, Rodriguez said they will be flown home immediately for treatment.
Next week, the 101st Airborne will hold a traditional pre-deployment ceremony, known as a “color casing”, before departing for Liberia, though a handful of soldiers are already on the ground.

First off, the combat soldiers is always put in harm’s way, we take orders, even if we do not believe in them, we follow the orders. Its ashame what your saying about our military? Every combat soldier is worth their salt, as you put it.
It doesn’t make any sense to send our military boys on a suicide mission to ebolaland. These countries have their own people who can set up these tents. Send the CDC, they are trained to deal with pandemics.
My husband served in the army as did my brother. My son has completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan, don’t you presume to tell me that i don’t know the worth of a soldier!
Let me also add that what makes this unconscionable is the fact that they are expected to help fight the virus without full cover. Since you seem to know so much about soldiering I shouldn’t have tell you that you don’t send a soldier off to war wihout a rifle a helmet and a bullet proof vest. PROTECTIVE GEAR SHOULD BE MANDATORY!

Nam Marine: Who you served with in Nam? As for me, I served 101st Airborne Division with the 501st and 327th Inf, U.S. Rangers. Did 5 tours in Nam. 1966-1971. Serve at Firebase Ripcord and Tet Offenses. Wounded in the left knee. 11B40 MOS. Firebase Ripcord was 26 days of hell, lost alot of good buddies there!
If the intent were to fight Ebola by building infrastructure, a construction battalion would be sent. Airborne are combat troops. They are there to seize control of resources. The miners are on strike in Sierra Leone, and our troops will be used as strike breakers, as they were used during the Depression at a Ford plant. Hazmat suits would hinder the corporate plunder they are being sent to implement. Our troops won’t be infected until corporate objectives are realized. Soros has been buying up copper and iron resources for his Rothschild bosses, and needs the slaves brought into submission. Then the troops are expendable.
Now Barry Soetoro, who is not even a American citizen, is promising to send hundreds of Ebola patients here to overwhelm our hospitals and cause a pandemic.
