We’re sending 1,000 King James Bibles for the Richland Correctional Institution by way of the jail ministry at Wooster Bible Church in Ohio

Chaplain Ricardo Miguel wrote to us last week and we got a chance to speak on the phone, it was a blessing. After our conversation, he emailed me and said “it was great to finally connect with you. We spoke about Bibles, And study material for the inmates at Richland Correctional Institute, where I have worked as a temporary chaplain and currently work as a correctional officer. I am excited and overwhelmed by your response to send 1000 Bibles and study materials towards this ministry.” God just busted open the door for us to get into the Richland prison in a big way.

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10 (KJB)

Chaplain Ricardo is a member of the Wooster Bible Church in Ohio, and shortly after we got the 1,000 Bibles set up to send, Pastor Joe Silvestri at the church called me to say thank you. They are very much invested in prison ministry and outreach, and this amount of Bibles is a much-needed ‘shot in the arm’ for the work the Lord has called them to do there. Every one of these Bibles will be placed in the hands of the inmates receiving them, along with additional study helps that we are also sending them.

On November 18th, Wooster Bible Church will have in Evangelist David Spurgeon for a series of meetings, and what amazing timing that turns out to be. Bro. Spurgeon got saved while in jail, and he will be behind the pulpit as the 1,000 Bibles we’re sending for the Richland Prison arrives! Pastor Joe told me they will be praying over all those Bibles on the 18th, and thanking God for providing everything they need to minister to the inmates at Richland. All this is possible because you pray for this ministry and our outreaches like Bibles Behind Bars, and support the work we do financially. The Bridgeport Correctional Center In Connecticut Processes Thousands Of Inmates Each Year And Their Goal Is A Bible For Every Prisoner Who Wants One

Thousands of inmates are processed and sent out through the Bridgeport Correctional Center each year, and they need a Bible to take with them as they go

The Bridgeport Correctional Center in Connecticut is a high-security facility located at 1106 North Ave Bridgeport, CT 06604, managing a diverse and predominantly pre-trial population. It serves as a central urban jail for the state, offering various rehabilitation, education, and vocational programs designed to assist in inmate reintegration. Today, Chaplain Steve has told us of their need for as many Bibles as we can provide, and I would love for us to be able to help him.

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;” Isaiah 61:1 (KJB)

Chaplain Steve writes “We are a large county jail with 1000s of individuals passing through our gates every year. some stay a long time, while others move on more quickly. We want to be able to give bibles to all inmates who request them, but we are currently having trouble keeping up with the demand. I see that the bible we give out are appreciated by the inmates.” Every day we receive multiple requests for free Bibles from individuals both locally and globally. Each week, we receive multiple requests for Bibles from chaplains who minister in the jails and prisons across America. Just this morning we finalized a request for 500 Bibles sent to a Georgia jail, and received a new request from the Bridgeport Correctional Center in Connecticut. Oftentimes new requests will come in while I am writing one of these articles, it’s honestly overwhelming but in a good way. Christian, God has given us an amazing open door in these closing moments of the Church Age to give out as many Bibles and devotional books as we possibly can, and it’s exciting. Prisoners are getting saved in the thousands, and being set free in Jesus Christ. There is much work to be done, come help us to do it!!

The Massive High Security Miami Correctional Facility And ICE Detainee Center In Bunker Hill, Indiana, Needs King James Bibles For Its 3,188 Inmates

The Miami Correctional Facility in Indiana needs King James and Spanish Bibles for their thousands of inmates and ICE detainees

The Miami Correctional Facility, situated near Bunker Hill, Indiana, on the grounds of the Grissom Joint Air Reserve Base, was established in 1998 as a state prison. This facility accommodates adult males and includes inmates with high, medium, and minimum-security classifications. Miami is the largest prison in Indiana, boasting a capacity to house 3,188 prisoners when at full occupancy, including ICE detainees. Man, oh man, if you’re looking for fertile ground to start planting the seeds of the gospel, this is it.

“But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” Matthew 13:8,9 (KJB)

Chaplain Blair writes: “Our incarcerated population is currently about 1000 listed as General Christian or Catholic.  We offer services each week lead by Chaplains and/or outside volunteers.  Offenders are able to attend multiple times per week and often request bibles for personal use. Our ICE detainee population is about 400 General Christian or Catholic.  Services are ran to match the incarcerated population (citizens legally incarcerated). We are a level 3 / level 4 prison, meaning we are classified as medium-high to high security.  Most of the population are between the ages of 20-40. All religious materials we as Chaplains can distribute must come from outside donations from organizations like yours.” Christian, can you get excited by all this? Here is our opportunity to send the preserved word of God into a facility filled to overflowing with Catholics, ICE detainees and Christian and non-Christian inmates. Talk about going into all the world with the gospel. Bibles Behind Bars was raised up for this exact purpose, for such a time as this. Come help us to keep the supply lines open at the Miami Correctional Facility!

The Garza West Unit In Beeville Texas Which Houses Up To 2,278 Inmates Has Reached Out To Us For King James Bibles And Christian Literature

The Garza West Unit in Beeville Texas is a hotbed of soulwinning and gospel preaching and now they need King James Bibles

The Garza West Unit Transfer Facility is a mixed medium security prison located in Beeville Texas.  The unit can house up to 2,278 male offenders of G1, G3, and transient custody levels.  Co-located with Garza East, Garza West is situated on 304 acres.  Garza West Unit is responsible for the initial intake and processing of offenders from the surrounding region into the Texas Department of Corrections. While incarcerated at Garza West, inmates can receive medical, dental, and mental health services. But what they really need is the gospel and the King James Bible, lots of them, amen?

“To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” Isaiah 42:7 (KJB)

Chaplain Hall writes to say “We have about 4 different Christian services with volunteers who travel anywhere from 1-2 hrs to either speak in a service or conduct a class in our Faith Based Dorm.  My favorite ministry related activity is teaching in our Faith Based Dorm.  While I am a Baptist Minister and Chaplain I push for real change in the inmate’s lives and tend not to push a sinners prayer or altar calls as I believe they usually produce shallow converts.  I ask for Bibles because we have a constant stream of NEW inmates who come in weekly from county prisons. We do not receive funding from anyone and rely exclusively on donations from outside ministries.” And there it is, chaplains and jail ministers all across America have an urgent need for Bibles, and Bibles Behind Bars stands in the gap to make sure they get them. We need your help to make sure the flow of Bibles doesn’t stop going out, come help us!
