The Taliban has been showing off its own Badri 313 ‘special forces’ on social media, soldiers in new uniforms equipped with looted American equipment who contrast sharply with the image of the usual Afghan insurgent. Thanks, Walkaway Joe!

Any American president is also the Commander-in-Chief of the military, and as such call the shots. When Donald Trump was president, he expanded the US military by creating the Space Force, which we told you about here. Well, Walkaway Joe Biden had a hankering to create something new militarily as well, so he created the Badri 313 Taliban Special Forces by giving the Islamic terrorists billions of dollars in weapons, machines, tanks, planes and what not.

Taliban shows off ‘special forces’ in propaganda blitz

FROM FRANCE 24: Pictures and videos of fighters in the so-called ‘Badri 313’ unit have been posted online for propaganda purposes to underline how the Taliban have better equipped and trained men at their disposal than in the past, experts say. The soldiers are shown in uniforms, boots, balaclavas and body armour similar to those worn by special forces around the world — and unlike the shalwar kameez, turban and sandals of the traditional Taliban fighter.

We can confirm that the explosion at the Abbey Gate was the result of a complex attack that resulted in a number of US & civilian casualties. We can also confirm at least one other explosion at or near the Baron Hotel, a short distance from Abbey Gate. We will continue to update.

Rather than a battered Russian-designed Kalashnikov rifle slung over their shoulder, the men of Badri 313 hold new US-made rifles such as the M4, sometimes with night-vision goggles and advanced gunsights. Badri 313 “likely represents some of the best trained and equipped fighters within the Taliban more broadly, although as you would expect there is a degree of sensationalising in propaganda coverage of the unit by the group,” Matt Henman from the Janes defence consultancy told AFP.

A Western weapons expert who writes anonymously on Twitter under the pseudonym of Calibre Obscura said the unit would be no match for Western special forces, or those of India or Pakistan.

But “they are more effective than normal Taliban and certainly more than standard Afghan national army troops from a couple of weeks ago,” he told AFP.

US Weapons Now In Taliban Hands

Named after the battle of Badr 1,400 years ago, when the Prophet Mohammed supposedly vanquished his enemies with only 313 soldiers, the Taliban unit could number up to several thousand men, experts say. The amount of equipment at their disposal is unclear, but multiple pictures online show jubilant Taliban fighters posing with captured armoured Humvees, aircraft and weapons abandoned by the defeated US-equipped Afghan national army.

Experts say the most sophisticated equipment, especially the helicopters, will be difficult to operate and near-impossible to maintain.

“There is certainly a degree of propaganda, but we saw during the final offensive since May that the Taliban special forces have been critical in the taking over of Afghanistan,” said Bill Roggio, managing editor of the US-based Long War Journal.

“When they began to overrun the Afghan forces, they progressively integrated Western supplies. The US in effect armed the Taliban army,” he added.

In previous days, the unit has been in charge of security outside Kabul international airport, bringing them nearly face-to-face with American troops inside who are overseeing the airlift of thousands of civilians.

In a social media post, Badri 313 troops even mocked their US counterparts by recreating the famed picture of American soldiers raising the Stars and Stripes on the island of Iwo Jima in 1945. The Taliban figures in uniforms are seen raising their black-and-white flag. Badri 313 is also seen as having benefited from training from the Haqqani network, Afghanistan’s most ruthless and feared militant group which has been responsible for multiple suicide attacks on civilian targets.

Mainly based in eastern Afghanistan — with alleged bases across the border in Pakistan’s northwest — the group has become more visible in the Taliban leadership in recent years. They have also long been suspected of links with the Pakistani military establishment — US Admiral Mike Mullen described them as a “veritable arm” of Islamabad’s intelligence in 2011. Pakistan denies the allegations.

“There is a strong likelihood of Pakistan having provided at least a vestige of training to the unit,” said Henman from Janes, who specialises in terrorism and insurgencies. Gilles Dorronsoro, an expert on Afghanistan at the Sorbonne University in Paris, said the emergence of the new Taliban commandoes was part of a larger trend.

“We’ve seen a remarkable professionalisation of the Taliban since the middle of the 2000s,” he told AFP. “The war they are fighting is not the same as the one their parents fought against the Soviets. They’ve learned from the ground and they are very good technically,” he added. READ MORE

Reports say that the Taliban’s special commandos played a key role in Afghan offensive and are now responsible for the security of Kabul where they can be seen deployed at all key locations.

The food has run out for the children at the Glory Fellowship Orphanage in Kenya, and the Lord has given us the calling to step in and do what we can

I got on a video call this morning with Pastor Dancan in Kenya for our weekly Bible Study and discipleship time, and almost immediately I could see he was highly preoccupied with something else. I asked him what was going on, and he said he was troubled because the local people who normally donate beans, rice, banans and oil to help feed the 84 kids in his charge had not supplied him with that recently, and he wasn’t quite sure how to solve the problem. When I asked how long it was since the children had eaten, and he said 3 days, that hit me hard.

“Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Isaiah 1:17 (KJB)

I will be honest, my first reaction upon hearing the kids hadn’t eaten in 3 days was not so much sadness, it was anger. Not anger at any person, but it made me mad that such a situation could take place. Fighting mad. So immediately, I instructed our contact in Kenya to deliver to Pastor Dancan enough rice, beans, maize, bananas, cooking oil and salt to solve the immediate need for all the children, some of which has already arrived at the orphanage. The rest, Lord willing, will arrive tomorrow. I am praying that we will be able to keep them fed for the next month or so, and that many reading this article will want to partner with us to meet this pressing need. But what we really need to do for them is get them self-sufficient by planting some basic crops and getting them some chickens, a goat and a cow. The cost to supply them with foodstuffs for the next month is $3,500, and I am right now researching the most feasible way to help them build a little farm. NTEB and For His Glory Ministries Are Partnering To Open A Bible And Gospel Tract Printing And Distribution Center In The Philippines

The 8th NTEB Old-Fashioned Camp Meeting is officially one month away, and we are soooo excited to see everyone. As you know, our theme this is missions – local and foreign -and will be present a roster of speakers who are actively engaged in missions in these last days. Over the past several months, we have gotten to know and spend time with newlywed couple Mike and Michelle Burton, and we bring you the good news of their surrendering to be boots-on-the-ground missionaires to Angeles City in the Philippines. Not only that, NTEB will be partnering with them and their For His Glory Ministries, to open up a Bible printing facility and evangelization outpost! We just wrapped up a podcast with them, and you can watch it below. We have prayed a long time for the Lord to give us an opening in the Philippines, and now He has in a mighty and incredible way.

“And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. ” Acts 16:9 (KJB)

Ever since we started our Free Bible Program, it has been our hearts desire to establish an NTEB base in the Philippines for the distrubution of Bibles in English and Tagalog, as well as gospel tracts and scripture portions. We get thousands of requests per year, and have always wanted to have a facility there. But try as we might, as we prayed for this over the years, the Lord never opened up that door for us, until now that is. Mike and Michelle, along with Philippine national Edgardo Gatchalian, have secured a location in Angeles City where they will not only be living, but will also serve as base of operations for printing Bibles and tracts, as well as a distrubution center. NTEB will be providing them with Bibles and tracts, as well as helping to cover some of the costs of getting their new facility up and running.
