US Navy destroys 'provocative and hostile' Iranian drone that flew within 1,000 yards of an American warship ship and ignored warnings to retreat - as Trump claims it threatened the ship's crew

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the U.S. Navy has destroyed a drone controlled by Iran, calling the unmanned vehicle’s approach of an American ship a ‘provocative and hostile’ act.

Just this morning we told you about 500 troops being sent to Saudi Arabia to shore up defenses in the Middle East against an Iranian attack, and tonight we bring you news of the USS Boxer shooting down a hostile Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is the only shipping lane between the Persian Gulf and the open ocean, making it a vitally important means to transport gas and oil. Twenty percent of all the oil consumed anywhere in the world passes through this area, and as such, remains a hotly-contested area of commerce as well as militarily significant.

FROM DAILY MAIL UK: The conflict came in the Strait of Hormuz, the only shipping lane between the Persian Gulf and the open ocean. About one-fifth of the world’s oil passes through it. Trump said at the White House that the USS Boxer, a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship, ‘took defensive action’ after the drone strayed to within 1,000 yards.

‘The drone was immediately destroyed,’ he said, after its operators ignored ‘multiple calls to stand down.’

Chief Pentagon spokesperson Jonathan Hoffman said the Boxer was ‘conducting a planned inbound transit of the Strait of Hormuz.’ A Defense Department official said electronic signal-jamming was employed to bring the drone down.

The president called the incident ‘the latest of many provocative and hostile actions by Iran against vessels operating in international waters.’  Iran’s military recently shot down a U.S. drone that it said was flying in Iranian airspace, firing a strike with a surface-to-air missile.

President Trump called off a planned airstrike at the last moment, saying later that retaliating would have killed approximately 150 people on the ground.  Trump made his announcement Thursday at the beginning of a White House ceremony to mark the return of an American flag that flew from the stern of an American ship in the D-Day invasion.

An hour earlier he had told reporters at the end of a photo-op with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte that ‘a big event just happened in Iran. A big event.’ The drone was downed in international waters, according to a Pentagon official.

The increased use of drones by Iran and its allies for surveillance and attacks across the Middle East is raising alarms in Washington, according to a Reuters report this week. The U.S. believes Iran-linked militias in Iraq have recently increased their surveillance of American troops and bases in the country by using off-the-shelf, commercially available drones.

The disclosure comes at a time of heightened tensions with Iran and underscores the many ways in which Tehran and the forces it backs are increasingly relying on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in places like Yemen, Syria, the Strait of Hormuz and Iraq.

Beyond surveillance, Iranian drones can drop munitions and even carry out ‘a kamikaze flight where they load it up with explosives and fly it into something’, according to a U.S. official who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity.

Iran now flies two or three drones over Gulf waters every day, the U.S. official estimated, making it a core part of Tehran’s effort to monitor the Strait of Hormuz. The United States and Saudi Arabia have accused Iran of carrying out attacks against six oil tankers near the Strait in the past two months, a claim Tehran has denied.

‘We have seen an uptick in drone activity in Iraq near our bases and facilities,’ the official said. ‘Certainly the drones that we have seen are more of the commercial off-the-shelf variant. So they’re obviously a deniable type UAV-activity in Iraq.’ READ MORE

A Prison Captain In A South Dakota Women’s Prison Reaches Out To Us With One Of The Most Moving Requests For Bibles We’ve Ever Received

Coils of barbed wire crown the tall chain-link fences, while heavy metal-and-glass entrance doors, guarded cell blocks, and camera-monitored entry points all testify to the intense security surrounding the South Dakota Women’s Prison in Pierre.This is a no-nonsense, maximum security prison for female offenders buried deep in the foothills of South Dakota. Captain Samantha Uhrig reached out to us this week with one of the most heartfelt requests for Bibles I think we’ve ever recieved. It will bless you.

“Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.” Psalm 142:7 (KJB)

Her starting email to us was polished, professional and a very straight-forward request for Bibles. It read, in part, “SDWP is currently the intake and maximum-security level facility for women incarcerated in the state of South Dakota. Our state currently incarcerates women at one of the highest rates in the world, we also have the challenge of being located in an area that has limited resources and volunteers due to the length of travel. Currently we house approximately 500 female offenders in our facility. I have been looking for some time to replace our stock of religious materials for our incarcerated population…” That’s about the the type of email request we usually get, so I immediately responded and told her Bibles Behind Bars could absolutely help her. She wrote back and said “Thank you! My stores are completely depleted at this time. If you could send me 250 copies that would help bolster my supply significantly.” I said we would be happy to do that, and that we could also send her one of our Book Boxes, packed with great Christian literature. (see below). It was at this point that the captain got a little emotional.

She went on to tell me that the person who was in charge of the chaplaincy vacated their position and, it was later discovered, left the prison library and Bible program utterly bereft. No books, no library, and worst of all, no Bibles. When it dawned on her that Bibles Behind Bars was able to rebuild her library, with quality books, as well as supplying her with hundreds of Bibles, at no charge, her gratitude was plainly evident. I told her that we would be praying for her, and that Lord would give her “fruit in that day”. Captain Uhrig replied “Thank you!!! I am at a loss for words. Truly from the bottom of my heart thank you both. This big hard world needs more people like you who care.” Amen, Cap, that’s what we’re here for. Christian, this is what you are praying for when you pray for this outreach. We minister to the inmates, absolutely, but we also minister to the chaplains, captains, sheriffs, pastors, preachers and volunteers who go into the jails and prisons every day and do the hard work. Attacks On Christians And Catholics Are Rising In Israel As Catholic Nun Is Kicked To The Ground On The Streets Of Jerusalem

To this lost world, there is little to no distinction made between biblically born again Christians and members of cult and fringe groups like the Roman Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witness and Seventh Day Adventists. To them, it’s all the same, it’s all Christianity. So for the sake of our discussion today, we will label all of it as “professing Christianity”. That said, there is a verifiable rise on Christians in Israel at the hands of radical Orthodox Jews, and it grows worse by the day. In our story today, we see a Roman Catholic nun kicked to the ground by Orthodox Jews, and this is just the tip of the end times iceberg.

On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, the attacker was not some nameless shadow from a vague “troubled region.” Israeli police arrested a 36-year-old Jewish suspect, and AP reported that the assailant seen in the video was wearing tzitzit, the fringes worn by observant Jewish men. AP also noted that Christian leaders and organizations have been warning of a growing trend of violence and harassment against Christian clergy and pilgrims, often by ultra-Orthodox Jewish youth. There it is. Not rumor, not propaganda, not replacement theology hysteria. A documented pattern. The Rossing Center’s reporting on attacks against Christians in Israel and East Jerusalem says that in known 2024 cases, the perpetrators were Jewish individuals, “primarily young men from ultra-Orthodox and national-religious circles,” driven by a mix of nationalist fervor and religious extremism, especially among ultra-Orthodox nationalist groups. The 2024 report documented 111 incidents, including physical attacks, attacks on church properties, harassment, and defacement, while coverage of the report noted that most victims were clergy or people wearing visible Christian symbols. The Rossing Center’s 2025 report says the harassment and violence are continuing to escalate across Israel and East Jerusalem.
