President Trump is calling for a Federal takeover of Washington DC as second FEMA camp in central Florida now being prepared

Quietly and not so quietly, America seems to be undergoing a resurgence of open authoritarianism that previous president Barack Obama was reviled for. Barely 6 months into his second term, President Trump and those associated with him, are ramping up the rhetoric made famous in dystopian literature like George Orwell’s ‘1984’. In Washington, Trump is calling for a Federal takeover of DC streets, while Florida governor Ron DeSantis is planning a second FEMA internment facility at Camp Blanding in Clay County, Florida, not far from where our Bookstore is located.

All of this, we are told, is for our good and to make America a safer place to be, and that is partially true. Certainly something should be done about the perpetually-high crime rate in Washington, DC, and something should be done about the out-of-control illegal immigration problems we face. But is more authoritarianism the answer? History shows us that when something gets ‘federalized’, it gets progressively worse. Back in the 1980’s, the DoD was purchasing $500 hammers and $600 toilet seats amid the billions in waste that was uncovered. A government takeover of Washington DC would be a resounding failure, as will this second FEMA Camp being built in Florida. This is not what I voted for.

President Trump threatens federal takeover of Washington DC after attack on former DOGE worker

FROM FOX NEWS: Two 15-year-olds have been arrested in Washington in connection with the attempted carjacking and beating of one of the most prominent members of the Department of Government Efficiency, renewing calls from President Donald Trump for the federal government to seize control of the nation’s capital. In a social media post and remarks at the White House on Tuesday, the president described crime in Washington as “out of control.”

“If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

The District of Columbia has long served as a symbolic battleground in debates over crime and governance, and its lack of statehood has made it uniquely vulnerable to federal intervention. Republican leaders have frequently seized on episodes of violence to portray the city as a case study of violence in cities run by Democratic mayors, even as city officials note that violent crime overall is down more than 25% from the same period last year.

Still, local officials have acknowledged in recent years that youth crime, particularly carjackings, remains a serious concern. Just last year, a 14-year-old was charged with killing a Lyft driver in a botched carjacking, and a significant portion of carjacking arrests in Washington involve juveniles.

The Metropolitan Police Department said its investigation into the attack on Coristine remains active and additional suspects are still being sought. READ MORE

Camp Blanding ICE detention site construction could begin as early as Monday

Construction is expected to begin soon on a new ICE detention center in Clay County. The site at Camp Blanding near the Clay County-Bradford County line is being developed to hold about 2,000 people awaiting immigration hearings or deportation, Gov. Ron DeSantis said.

A military helicopter has crashed into an American Airlines passenger jet while attempting to land on Runway 33 at Reagan National Airport in Washington DC.

There is a massive emergency response unfolding. Fireboats are in the water, and the Metropolitan Police Department also confirmed it is responding. Fire departments from all around the region are staging at Gravelly Point north of Reagan National. This is a mass casualty event, and we are still only in the first month of this off-the-charts crazy year. We are literally watching the main theme of the Obama film ‘Leave The World Behind’ being acted out before our eyes. Who was on that plane? Show me the passenger list, and I will tell you who was behind the crash.

That this horrific event happened in the nation’s capital is unsettling, that it involved a military helicopter that appeared to target the jet is also unsettling, that it happened while the plane was attempting to land on Runway 33 is terrifying. 33 is the default number of both the Illuminati and the New World Order. This is a breaking news story so we will add more information as it becomes available, but with the facts already before us, we know with a 99% certainty how this whole thing will shake out. Plane crashes into DC’s Potomac River while landing at Reagan Washington National Airport

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: Emergency services in the city are searching the Potomac River near the airport following the incident just before 9pm on Wednesday night. NBC Washington are reporting that there was around 60 people on Flight 5342 from Wichita, Kansas, to the Capital when the collision happened.

The Federal Aviation Authority said that the jet, a Bombardier CRJ700, collided with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Runway 33.

In a statement, DC Police said: ‘At 8:53pm, multiple calls were received for an aircraft crash above the Potomac River. DC Fire and EMS, the Metropolitan Police Department and multiple partner agencies are currently coordinating a search and rescue operation in the Potomac River. There is no confirmed information on casualties at this time.

The airport said in a post to X: ‘All takeoffs and landings have been halted at DCA. Emergency personnel are responding to an aircraft incident on the airfield. The terminal remains open. Will update.’

Images taken at the scene show scores of emergency service teams along the riverside. Footage has also emerged online of helicopters with search lights passing over the Potomac River. Video from an observation camera at the nearby Kennedy Center shows two sets of lights consistent with aircraft appearing to conjoin in a fireball.

Flight radar tracking data shows the final approach of the flight as it crosses over the Potomac, before it cuts out.

An FAA statement said: ‘A PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Runway 33 at Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 p.m. local time. PSA was operating as Flight 5342 for American Airlines. It departed from Wichita, Kansas.  The FAA and NTSB will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation.’ READ MORE

Nearly 8,000 National Guard troops have been requested by the U.S. Secret Service to provide support for the presidential inauguration Jan. 20, the Pentagon said.

We are officially 6 days away from Donald Trump being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, 5 days away from his (in my opinion) premature victory party on the 19th, and doesn’t it feel like the ‘other shoe’ is getting ready to drop? What do they have planned, I wonder? Seeing how explosive the start of 2025 has been already, it’s good to be something pretty wild.

One thing’s for sure, the opposing sides that populate Washington are going to clash, and clash hard, with the incoming Trump administration. Nearly 8,000 National Guard troops requested to support presidential inauguration

FROM STARS AND STRIPES: The request for 7,800 troops, said Sabrina Singh, deputy spokeswoman for the Defense Department, is expected to be approved by the Pentagon in the coming days. The Secret Service is the lead agency for the inauguration. Once approved, the troops will join 500 National Guards troops already approved to support security operations during the counting and certification of electoral votes on Monday.

As Trump prepares to return to office, no violence, protests or procedural objections in Congress are expected this time.

When an event is designated as a special security event, the federal government, as well as state and local partners, can funnel significant resources to ensure a robust security plan is in place, said Nate Herring, a spokesperson for the Secret Service. He declined to provide specifics, citing operational security reasons.

In an opinion piece published Sunday in The Washington Post, President Joe Biden decried the 2021 attempt to overrun the Capitol to block certification of the 2020 election — seeking to contrast that day’s chaos with what Biden promises will be an orderly transition returning Trump to power for a second term.
