President Reuven Rivlin formally gave Netanyahu four weeks to form the government after a meeting at the President's Residence.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been given a chance to form a government for the sixth time on Wednesday after failing to do so following the April election following five terms in office.

Israel has been holding their collective breath in what has become one of the most arduous and contentious elections in quite some time. Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been given the chance to form a new government in Israel, but he has no easy road ahead of him. He technically could fail in his attempt to form a new government over the next 42 days. Anytime you think that elections in America are puzzling, frustration and confusion, just remember that they don’t hold a candle to crazy, seat-of-your-pants, patchwork style of governing the Israelis use to build a new governmental administration.

“And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” Daniel 2:21 (KJV)

Pray for Benjamin Netanyahu, pray that the Lord will continue to use him in a mighty way as we draw closer to the start of the time of Jacob’s trouble after the rapture of the Church takes place. Praying for Israel won’t relieve them of having to go through it, but the Bible says to pray for the anyway if you want a blessing.

FROM THE JPOST: President Reuven Rivlin formally gave Netanyahu four weeks to form the government after a meeting at the President’s Residence with Blue and White leader Benny Gantz failed to bring about a breakthrough. The deadline will be Thursday October 24.

“Netanyahu had the best chance to form a government,” Rivlin said in a speech alongside Netanyahu.

Rivlin said he gave the mandate to Netanyahu, because he received 55 recommendations from MKs, compared to Gantz’s 54. He called upon parties to stop disqualifying each other and lamented that a unity government was not formed.

In his speech, Rivlin revealed that he had offered the possibility of passing a law enabling a prime minister to suspend himself while under indictment and have a vice prime minister take over until the prime minister is cleared. Such a bill could have enabled Gantz to run the country following a potential Netanyahu indictment. But Gantz rejected the idea.

Netanyahu already has a bloc of 55 MKs from his Likud and his allies in Yamina, Shas and United Torah Judaism. He would need Yisrael Beytenu, Labor-Gesher or Blue and White to join to form a government. All have repeatedly refused to do so.

“My inability to form a government is slightly less than that of Gantz,” Netanyahu said in accepting the mandate.

Netanyahu called on Gantz to form a government led by him, citing security, diplomatic and economic reasons and raising the prospects of both war with Iran and a peace process with the Palestinians led by US President Donald Trump.

If Netanyahu fails, Rivlin could give the mandate to Gantz or to another candidate in Likud. He could also tell Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein that there is no candidate. If that happened, there would be 21 days in which any candidate could try to get 61 MKs together and form a government.

In his address, Rivlin noted that by law, after the candidate with a mandate fails to form a government, instead of giving the mandate to another candidate, the Knesset can choose a candidate with the support of 61 MKs.

“The people do not want additional elections,” Rivlin said.

Gantz reiterated after Netanyahu was given the mandate that his party would not enter a government led by Netanyahu while a possible indictments is waiting in the wings. He blamed Likud for the failure to form a unity government, because Netanyahu’s party refused to give up the other parties in its political bloc.

“Blue and White is committed to the idea of unity, but this requires negotiations among the two largest parties alone in order to reach agreement on the content and essence of the next government,” Gantz said.

Sources close to Rivlin had said on Tuesday that he would likely only appoint a candidate to form a government next Wednesday after the Rosh Hashana holiday. But after no progress was made in initial talks between Likud and Blue and White, Rivlin changed his mind.

Just in case there would be a breakthrough that would lead to coalition talks, the Likud coalition negotiating team came to the President’s Residence. The Blue and White team did not come. They said they were prepared to come quickly if there would be a breakthrough, but that they had low expectations from Netanyahu. NATO Summit In Turkey Puts Trump Beside Recep Tayyip Erdoğan As Weapons, Alliances, Ukraine And Israel’s Regional Security All Collide

Donald Trump is in Turkey for the NATO Summit in Ankara, and that makes the whole scene far more significant than a routine diplomatic photo-op. He is standing in Ankara, at the center of the Western military alliance, being warmly received by enemy of Israel Recep Tayyip Erdoğan while NATO gathers to discuss defense spending, weapons production, Ukraine, and the future of global military power. This is not merely Trump visiting a foreign leader; this is Trump under the NATO banner, beneath the Turkish crescent and star, surrounded by soldiers, jets, smoke trails, and the unmistakable theater of state power.

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.” Psalm 146:3 (KJB)

Erdoğan is not simply another NATO head of state, he has repeatedly positioned Turkey as a major Islamic power broker and has been one of the loudest anti-Israel voices in the alliance. Yet Trump, who has sold himself to evangelical Christians as Israel’s greatest political defender, is being celebrated by a leader whose rhetoric and regional ambitions run directly against Israel’s interests. The contradiction is glaring: praise Israel in one speech, embrace Erdoğan in the next, and expect Christians to call it “4D chess” and the “art of the deal”. Nothing could be further from the truth. And give Israel’s enemy f-35 fighter jets? Yikes.

 President Trump said he was lifting sanctions that bar the sale of certain military equipment to Turkey — potentially paving the way for the provision of advanced F-35 fighter jets. “We don’t want to sanction friends,” Trump told reporters.

Behind the pageantry is the real issue: weapons, leverage, and power. Reports surrounding the summit have included the possibility of Turkey returning to the F-35 fighter jet program, despite Turkey being removed after purchasing Russia’s S-400 missile system. Israel has reportedly raised serious concerns about what advanced American stealth fighters in Erdoğan’s hands could mean for the regional balance of power. So this is not just a handshake. It is a NATO summit in Turkey, hosted by Erdoğan, with Israel’s security concerns sitting in the background while Trump plays dealmaker on the world stage.

The student of prophecy should see this for what it is: not peace, not loyalty, and not righteousness, but end-times diplomacy in motion. The kings of the earth gather, flatter, bargain, arm, threaten, and realign while Israel remains the burdensome stone at the center of it all. The world calls it diplomacy. NATO calls it alliance management. The media calls it strategy. But the watchman sees another reminder that no prince, no president, no alliance, and no global summit can be trusted.

Iran’s Regime Was Supposed To Fall, But World War Trump Only Hardened Tehran Into A Much More Dangerous Enemy Of Israel And America

Trump’s war with Iran did not produce regime change, it produced regime reinforcement. After all the bombs, all the bravado, all the ridiculous chest-thumping press conferences and victory laps, the Iranian regime is still standing. Not only is it standing, it is standing harder, colder, more paranoid, more ruthless, and more committed than before. Trump promised strength, but what he delivered was another unfinished American war in the Middle East, one that gave the mullahs a new survival story to sell to their people. They can now say they endured the wrath of America and Israel, buried their dead, absorbed the strikes, and still remained in power. Trump has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

“Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.” Luke 14:29,30 (KJB)

On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, the bitter irony is that Trump mocked the weakness of every president before him, only to produce the same tired result: bombs dropped, speeches given, victory declared, and the enemy still alive. Iran’s nuclear ambitions remain. Iran’s terror networks remain. Iran’s hatred of Israel remains. Iran’s hatred of America remains. The Revolutionary Guard remains. The Islamic system remains. The only thing that changed is that Tehran now knows exactly how far Trump is willing to go — and where he will stop. That is dangerous information for them to now have. A wounded enemy is bad enough, but a wounded enemy that knows you don’t intend to finish the fight is worse. Way worse. America was told that Trump had changed the game, but the game looks painfully familiar. Washington bombs, Israel braces, Iran survives, and the world continues to grow more unstable. The regime that was supposed to fall is now more hard-line, more suspicious, and more determined. Trump has not eradicated them, Trump has energized them. The war that was supposed to weaken the mullahs instead has strengthened their hand. The president who promised regime change may have instead handed the regime its next chapter. That is not victory. That is World War Trump producing exactly what unfinished wars always produce: stronger enemies, greater deception, deeper instability, and a world moving one step closer to the time of Jacob’s trouble.
