Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was rushed off the stage at an election campaign event in the southern Israeli port city of Ashkelon after rocket sirens blared throughout several communities on Wednesday evening.
Believe it or not, Benjamin Netanyahu is running again for prime minister, third time this year, and as he kicked off this reelection campaign Thursday night in southern Israel, his exact location was inadvertently broadcast because people were live streaming it. This resulted in Hamas knowing exactly where he was and being able to fire a rocket disturbingly close to where he was speaking, as you can see in the video below.
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:3 (KJV)
Netanyahu in Israel, like Trump in America, is seemingly invincible to the constant attacks against him legally, in the media, and amazingly, to Hamas rocket fire as well. May the God of Abraham continue to keep His hand on both these in as we transition into 2020, it figures to be a bumpy, bumpy year.
Netanyahu Rushed Off Stage During Campaign Event as Rocket Intercepted in Southern Israel
FROM HAARETZ: One rocket fired from Gaza was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, the Israeli army confirmed. Netanyahu and his wife Sara, who was also in attendance, were escorted to a shelter nearby; the prime minister later returned to the stage and continued his address.
During his speech at the Ashkelon event, the premier – who is facing a tense race for the Likud party leadership beginning Thursday – referred to the Israeli military’s assassination of senior Islamic Jihad commander Baha Abu al-Ata in the Strip last month. Al-Ata’s killing triggered a short-lived but tense round of fire between Israel and the Gaza group.
“He who fired rockets last time isn’t with us anymore,” Netanyahu said. “And he who fired now, better start packing his belongings,” the prime minister continued, seemingly implying that whoever is behind the rocket fire this time will be targeted and retaliated against in a similar way.
“This isn’t an attack on me or on Ashkelon, it’s not that. These are recurring attacks on our communities, and they think that we won’t hurt them or that we’ll break down,” he added. The event Netanyahu spoke at was documented and videos of it were live streamed on several websites of Israeli local newspapers in the south, inadvertently revealing the premier’s exact location. When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. Even all the way to South Africa. We even restarted our weekly radio Bible study on Sunday nights again, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.
But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. If every one of the 13,131 people on our daily mailing list gave $4.50, we would reach our goal immediately. If every one of our 151,781 followers on Facebook gave $1.00 each, we would reach 300% of our goal. The same goes for our 14,500 followers on Twitter. But sadly, many will not give, so we need the ones who can and who will give to be generous. As generous as possible.
