With the U.S. proclamation that Israeli settlements in Yehudah and Shomron “do not contravene international law,” Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has given Likud MKs a green light to promote legislation that would impose Israeli sovereignty on the Jordan Valley.
The Jordan Valley, a border area between the nations of Israel and Jordan, extends out of the outlet of the Jordan River at the Sea of Galilee on its way to the inlet into the Dead Sea. As you can see from the photo at the top of this article, the Jordan Valley is a beautiful region. This area features very prominently in both the Old and New Testaments, and references to the Jordan appear 197 times in 179 verses in your King James Bible. Now because of support from the Trump administration, Netanyahu and Israel will be able to expand their borders with sovereignty over the Jordan Valley. Something that would never and could never happen in the anti-Israel Democrats were in power.
“And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people; And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,) And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.” Joshua 3:14,15,17 (KJV)
The regathering of the Jews to Israel in 1948 was indeed a miracle of biblical proportions, but understand this, they will be driven out one more time during the time of Jacob’s trouble. The Jews were regathered physically in 1948, but as God’s chosen people they remain yet in rebellion against Him, the time of Jacob’s trouble will be their final judgment as a nation. When the Jews are finally regathered back into the land after the ‘days of vengeance’ mentioned in Luke 21, then will their restoration under the Messiah King Jesus be complete. But until then, nothing but wars and rumours of wars on the horizon.
After Pompeo Declaration, Likud Urges Annexation of Jordan Valley
FROM HAMODIA: “I was asked by PM Netanyahu to promote this legislation and we hope to present a law by next week,” Likud MK Shiran Haskell said Tuesday. “The legislation will be fully supported by the Likud and the prime minister.”
Haskell called on Blue and White to support the legislation. “After the declaration by President Trump, we have a unique opportunity presented to us by the American administration. I hope that Blue and White will cooperate on this and not attempt to stifle it,” Haskell said.
On Monday, Haskell asked MK Avi Nissenkorn, head of the Knesset Control Committee, for a waiver on the usual 45-day waiting period between when an MK introduces private legislation and when the Knesset votes on it for its first reading.
On Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reversed a policy that had been proclaimed by the State Department decades ago, saying that the U.S. would no longer view Jewish towns in Yehudah and Shomron as illegal. “Calling the establishment of civilian settlements inconsistent with international law has not advanced the cause of peace,” Pompeo said. “The hard truth is that there will never be a judicial resolution to the conflict, and arguments about who is right and who is wrong as a matter of international law will not bring peace. The establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not, per se, inconsistent with international law.”
Haskell’s is not the only piece of legislation for the annexation of the Jordan Valley. Similar laws have been proposed by former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, and MKs Michal Shir and Yoav Kisch of the Likud. All were proposed during the previous Knesset and were working their way through Knesset committees when Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called for early elections last April. READ MORE
Israel’s Netanyahu announces plan to annex Jordan Valley in West Bank
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he intends to annex the Jordan Valley in the occupied West Bank if he stays in power after the country’s election. Annexing the large part of the West Bank could contravene international law, especially since many Palestinians live there.

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. Even all the way to South Africa. We even restarted our weekly radio Bible study on Sunday nights again, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.
But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. If every one of the 13,131 people on our daily mailing list gave $4.50, we would reach our goal immediately. If every one of our 151,781 followers on Facebook gave $1.00 each, we would reach 300% of our goal. The same goes for our 14,500 followers on Twitter. But sadly, many will not give, so we need the ones who can and who will give to be generous. As generous as possible.
