Could the Rapture take place on April 23rd? Absolutely it can! But it will never in a million years be based on anything in Revelation 12 for the reasons listed below in this article
“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” Revelation 12:1,2 (KJV)
Last year, bible “teacher” David Meade predicted the Rapture twice, and failed both times. But evidently he’s not going to let a little thing like that stop him from continuing to attempt to predict the Rapture of the Church.
Various news outlets are reporting today that David Meade is at it again with his date-specific prophecies.
“Christian conspiracy theorist David Meade is the main expert suggesting the end times are here. Mr Meade also predicts a mythological planetary system known as Planet X or Nibiru will appear in the sky on April 23. He claims it will then pass the Earth in October, causing the start of the Rapture with huge volcanoes and volcanic eruptions due to its gravitational force.
Meade said: “During this time frame, on April 23, 2018 the moon appears under the feet of the Constellation Virgo. The Sun appears to precisely clothe Virgo… Jupiter is birthed on April 08, 2018. The 12 stars at that date include the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of Mercury, Venus and Mars – which combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo. Thus the constellations Virgo, Leo and Serpens-Ophiuchus represent a unique once-in-a-century sign exactly as depicted in the 12th chapter of Revelation. This is our time marker.”
David Meade bases his whole attempt at picking the date for the Rapture of the Church by grievously violating Paul’s command about ‘rightly dividing’ and getting all tangled up in Revelation 12. So with that in mind, here are a few easy-to-digest bullet points on why Revelation 12 has nothing to do with the church. At all.
- REVELATION 12 TAKES PLACE HALFWAY THROUGH THE TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE: The actual Rapture of the Church is shown to us, in type, in Revelation chapter 4. “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.” Revelation 4:1,2 (KJV). In Revelation 6, Jesus starts the time of Jacob’s trouble by opening the first seal and releasing Antichrist. “And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Revelation 6:1,2 (KJV). So by the time you get all the way to Revelation 12, the church has been in Heaven for about 3.5 years already.
- REVELATION 12 MATCHES MATTHEW 24 AND IT’S ALL ABOUT THE JEWS: The events in Revelation 12 take place on earth and not in Heaven, and they have nothing to do with the church anyway. Revelation 12 matches Matthew 24:16 where the Jews are told to “flee into the mountains”. “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:” Matthew 24:15,16 (KJV). Rev 12 is a detailed explanation of what it will look like when they are forced to do that. The “woman” in Revelation 12 is the nation of Israel, and the “dragon” is the Antichrist. As the Jews flee to the red rock city of Selah Petra, the dragon pursues them with a flood. What flood is that? Look and see.
- THE REVELATION 12 FLOOD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT: Revelation 12 says that the Dragon pursues Israel with a ‘flood’, right? “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.” Revelation 12:15 (KJV). Well, here is that same Dragon drinking an entire river in his mouth in Job: “Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.” Job 40:23 (KJV). And here is the Dragon/Antichrist using a flood in the time of Jacob’s trouble: “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” Daniel 9:26 (KJV) and again here “And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.” Daniel 11:22 (KJV). Now we have perfect harmony and we know that the woman is Israel, the Dragon is Antichrist, and the flood is a literal, visible, actual flood of waters that he will use in an attempt to drown the Jews before they can reach Selah Petra.
None of Revelation 12 can be applied to the Church, as the Church has already boarded Flight #777 on Titus213 Airlines previously and is nowhere to be seen. So with that said, could the Rapture take place on April 23rd? Absolutely it can! But it will never in a million years be based on anything in Revelation 12 for the reasons we have already shown you.
The Rapture of the Church, whenever it is, must take place before the time of Jacob’s trouble, because Revelation 12 is the height of the time of Jacob’s trouble. Last but not least, the Rapture of the Church has absolutely nothing to do with the end of the world. That won’t happen until after the Rapture, after the time of Jacob’s trouble, and after the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem.

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. This article you’re reading right now is possible because people like you donate to keep us going. The money you send in goes primarily to the building of the recording studio, but it also goes to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. Even all the way to South Africa. We even restarted our weekly radio Bible study on Sunday nights again, thanks to your generous donations.
But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. If every one of the 12,577 people on our daily mailing list gave $4.50, we would reach our goal immediately. If every one of our 151,781 followers on Facebook gave $1.00 each, we would reach 300% of our goal. The same goes for our 13,600 followers on Twitter. But sadly, many will not give, so we need the ones who can and who will give to be generous. As generous as possible.
