Did Erdogan Stage A Phony Coup So He Could Create An Islamic State In Turkey?

A US-based Turkish cleric accused of plotting a coup to overthrow the Ankara government has claimed President Recep Erdogan staged the rebellion himself to justify a major clampdown on opposition forces.

Fethullah Gulen, who was a former key ally of Erdogan has been blamed by the politician of using his contacts to develop a ‘parallel structure’ to overthrow the state. Erdogan has called on US President Barack Obama to extradite Gulen, who is based in Pennsylvania.

In response to the attempted rebellion, Turkish authorities have detained 2,745 judges and prosecutors whose loyalty to the regime has been questioned. Also, some 2,839 soldiers – including the head of the Third Army Corps in Istanbul, General Erdal Ozturk – have been arrested.

PM Binali Yildrim described the plot, which claimed the lives of 161 civilians with 1,440 wounded, as a ‘black stain on Turkish democracy’.

Parliament Speaker Ismail Kahraman unexpectedly sparked controversy in Turkey when on April 25 he declared that Turkey’s new constitution should forgo mention of “secularism” and instead be a “religious constitution” referencing God. His words reignited Turkey’s always tense “secularism debate,” which has been amplified since 2002 when the Justice and Development Party (AKP) came to power. Kahraman’s remarks led to protests in a number of cities, a call by the main opposition leader for him to resign and allegations by secular pundits that the Speaker had shown the AKP’s “true face,” its “real intentions.” Because Kahraman is a known confidant of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, many also suspected that his statement was part of a scheme being orchestrated by Turkey’s leader.

In the next two days, however, the major figures in the AKP disowned Kahraman’s position on a “religious constitution.” The AKP’s Mustafa Sentop, chairman of parliament’s constitutional commission, said that Kahraman’s view was not a “party stance” and that “secularism is preserved in our constitutional draft.” Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu asserted, “In the new constitution that we are preparing, the principle of secularism will be included.” He added that it would be a “liberal interpretation” of secularism, not an “authoritarian” version. In also addressing the controversy, Erdogan not only professed support for secularism, but even offered an inspired defense of the principle.

Defining secularism as the state’s “obligation to stay at an equal distance to different faith groups,” he explained why it is a good idea: “If the faith of all religious groups in this country is guaranteed in the constitution, and the state’s equal distance to all religious groups is a foundation, why do you need to emphasize Islam? If I can live my faith as a Muslim the way I want to, the issue is over. If a Christian can live his/her Christianity, if a Jew can live his/her Jewishness or an atheist can live his/her atheism, the issue is also over for them.”

Will Erdogan’s powerful statement ease the tensions over secularism? Probably not, because many secularists fear that they have not yet seen the AKP’s “true face.”

A common view in opposition circles is that Kahraman’s statement on doing away with secularism and introducing a religious constitution did not reflect his “personal views,” as he claimed, but was in fact part of a plan cooked up by Erdogan. Accordingly, Erdogan wanted to test the waters by having Kahraman float the idea of a religious constitution, but then defended secularism after the reaction it elicited. An “Islamic state,” however, remains Erdogan’s long-term goal in their thinking. Another, more persuasive interpretation of events would be as follows.

Erdogan’s ambitions are more about power than doctrine. For power, he needs to sustain popular support, and for popular support, he needs to use religion, but only to a certain extent. While religious symbolism has broad appeal in Turkey, a Quran-thumping Islamic state does not. Various polls bear this out. The most recent survey of the political inclinations of Turkish society was conducted in 2013 by the Pew Research Center, which found that only 12% of all Turks support “making Sharia the official law in their country.” In contrast, 84% of Pakistanis and 74% of Egyptians supported the idea.

Erdogan likely has the support of this hardcore, Islamist minority of 12%, who probably do expect him to create their utopia. At the same time, he also has the support of a much larger block of “conservative” voters who are religious and like reference to religion, but who still prefer to live under secular law. This is why Erdogan would want to retain secularism in the Turkish constitution, albeit while not shying from venerating religion in the public square or perhaps even in the constitution.

A journalist with access to the AKP recently wrote in an insider report that there is a chance that the new constitution will preserve secularism — “laiklik,” from the French “laïcité” — but the preamble might make reference to “Allah and the religion of Islam,” along with some historical figures such as Rumi and Atatürk — in other words, something for everybody. Another rumor is that the preamble will make reference to “the Creator,” a possible inspiration from the US Declaration of Independence.

The more likely future for Turkey is not a Sharia-imposing Islamic state, but a more conservative state re-designed in the image of the AKP. Keep in mind that the latter-day ideology of the party is not simply “Islamism” after all, but “Erdoganism,” in which Islamism is indeed an important theme, but not the only theme. This would not put Turkey on the path to becoming another Iran or Saudi Arabia, as Turkey’s secularists fear, but it could lead in the direction of another Russia, where a similar ideology, “Putinism,” rules.

As the journalist Fareed Zakaria astutely observed, Putinism consists of five fundamentals: religion, nationalism, social conservatism, state capitalism and government media control. “Returning to the values of religion” — in particular Orthodox Christianity — is a powerful theme in Putin’s agenda, with a global vision of “protecting persecuted Christians all over the world.” Replace “Christian” with “Muslim,” and one has Turkey’s ruling ideology. source

President Trump Drops The Hammer On Attorney General Pam Bondi As Epstein Files Fury Continues To Consume The DOJ In A Stunning Power Shakeup

President Donald Trump Fires Pam Bondi As Epstein Files Fallout Explodes Into A Full-Blown Scandal Inside The DOJ

When Donald Trump regained the presidency for a second term, one of the first things he did was to install what we call a cadre of cartoon characters to various high-level positions like the FBI, DHS, AG and others. One by one, they’ve been falling like dominoes. The woman who claimed that the Epstein Files were on her desk and she was ready to start prosecuting, now former Attorney General Pam Bondi, did nothing with those files and now she is gone. The Epstein Files outlasted her, and perhaps, will outlast the entire Trump administration until someone does something with them.

“Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.” 1 Timothy 5:24 (KJB)

Pam Bondi is out, and if there was a final blow to her already battered standing, the Epstein files controversy may well have been it. President Donald Trump has reportedly removed his attorney general after weeks of mounting outrage over the Justice Department’s handling of the Epstein records, a debacle that drew bipartisan criticism, fueled accusations of deception, and intensified the sense that Bondi had lost control of one of the most politically toxic scandals in Washington. AP reports her tenure was marked by turmoil, with the Epstein files specifically becoming one of the biggest flashpoints attached to her downfall. Trump desperately wanted Bondi to make the Epstein Files disappear, but instead she ignited them into a bonfire. Chaos continues to reign in Trump’s White House.

Pam Bondi already fired as attorney general, Cabinet official teed up as replacement

FROM FOX NEWS: President Donald Trump reportedly has already fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke with Fox News Digital. Bondi met with Trump in the Oval Office Wednesday night ahead of his speech to the nation on the war in Iran, where she reportedly was informed of her ouster, according to two sources familiar with the meeting.

One of those sources said that by the time Trump took his place behind the podium for the address, Bondi already had lost her job and was on her way back to Florida. Trump is reportedly considering replacing Bondi with Environmental Protection Agency Director Lee Zeldin, according to the sources familiar with the matter. Trump held a meeting with Zeldin at the White House Tuesday to discuss wildfire and prevention, where talks of the transition also unfolded, according to an individual familiar with the meeting. THE PROPHECY NEWS PODCAST: The AI Future We’ve Been So Afraid Of Has Already Arrived And It’s So Much Worse Than You Ever Thought It Would Be

Artificial Intelligence Is Rapidly Becoming The Digital Nervous System Of A Christ-Rejecting World Racing Toward Final Judgment With King Jesus

For years, the world has been conditioned to welcome artificial intelligence as the next great leap forward for humanity. We were told it would help us work faster, think better, solve harder problems, and usher in a new age of peace, safety, and convenience. The sales pitch was polished, reassuring, almost soothing. There was no need to fear, they said. We could control AI, they said. It would only exist to serve mankind, and we’d make sure it would never cross the line. But that line is already gone, and here we are.

“This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.” James 3:15 (KJB)

On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, the future people once feared is no longer lurking on the horizon like some distant science fiction nightmare. It is here now, embedded in the systems that govern speech, commerce, surveillance, warfare, medicine, education, banking, and human identity itself. It has arrived quietly, efficiently, and with almost no resistance. Worse still, most people do not even realize they are living inside it already. This is not merely a technological revolution, it is a spiritual conditioning program for the last days. Artificial intelligence is not dangerous simply because it is powerful. It is dangerous because it is being placed into the hands of a lost and God-hating world that has already rejected truth, rejected righteousness, and rejected the Lord Jesus Christ. The world laughs at such warnings because it has been trained to mock discernment. But the architecture is already rising all around us. How would you describe it? You know. This is Babel with servers. This is Sodom with software, Pharaoh with algorithms, this is Nebuchadnezzar with machine learning. This is exactly what all those cheesy 1990’s low-budget prophecy movies told you was coming, and you didn’t listen. Here’s a fun fact – the very same people bringing you this dystopian AI digital prison are the very same people waging war in the Middle East, and today we help you connect all the end times dots.

President Trump Sees The ‘Handwriting On The Wall’ That War With Iran Is Virtually Unwinnable And Begins The Process Of Attempting A Face-Saving Exit

Published

on

SHARE NOW THE END BEGINS:

President Trump Seeks Endgame in Iran War as NATO Offers No Real Help and Strait of Hormuz Remains Unsettled

After reducing much of Iran to rubble, and having come to the realization that this war is not winnable, President Trump is now reportedly preparing to walk away and leave the smoking ruins to whoever wants it, with the regime still firmly in place, and their ability to launch missiles on their neighbors still very much intact. History will not be kind to this conflict when it’s discussed , and will remain a black mark on the United States for a long time. Time to rename the Department of War, Pete.

“And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.” Daniel 5:25 (KJB)

What we are watching right now is not strength, it is the ugly public unraveling of a war plan that did not go according to script. Donald Trump entered this conflict speaking like a man who intended to break Iran, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and make the world bow to the image of American power. But here we are at the end of March 2026, and the picture looks very different. Trump has now told the New York Post that this war will not last “much longer” and that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen “automatically” after the United States exits. At the same time, White House messaging has shifted to say that fully reopening Hormuz is no longer one of the core U.S. objectives. That is not victory language, that’s a pivot.

Gas has gone over $4 per gallon, airlines say they are out of fuel in a few weeks, NATO has abandoned us, and our nation teeters on the edge of recession. Who thought this war was a good idea, anyway?

When a leader begins by drawing a hard line, then quietly starts redefining the goalposts in the middle of the fight, that usually means the original objective has become too expensive, too difficult, or too politically dangerous to keep defending. Trump had projected the image of decisive military control. Instead, the war has dragged on, the Strait remains disrupted, and the administration is now talking as though the problem will somehow solve itself once America leaves. And then there is the coalition problem. Trump did not get the united Western front that his yes-men in Washington assumed would appear on command. Key European allies have resisted direct support, with countries such as Italy, Spain, and France denying or restricting requests tied to the war effort. Even where some logistical help remains, this is nowhere near a broad NATO-style show of force. Europe is not marching in lockstep behind this campaign, and that matters. So what are we really looking at?

We are looking at the limits of the MAGA doctrine, and quite possibly the functional end of the MAGA Movement itself. We are looking at what happens when a government, drunk on it’s own power, believes it can ignite another Middle East war, manage global oil choke points, control allied governments, pressure Iran into submission, and still walk away looking triumphant. That fantasy is now colliding with reality. Oil markets have been jolted, global shipping has been thrown into uncertainty, and the world has been reminded yet again that once war begins, it rarely obeys the neat political storyline written for it.

This is why the current Trump line about Hormuz reopening “automatically” deserves to be called out for what it is: narrative management. If the Strait were going to be reopened by force, they would say so plainly. If the mission had succeeded on its own stated terms, there would be no need to soften the objective after the fact. Instead, the message now is that America can leave and the desired result will somehow materialize later. That sounds less like a commander finishing the job and more like a politician looking for the least damaging exit ramp. From our perspective, this is another reminder that the nations rage, the kings of the earth strut across the stage, and yet the whole thing is marked by pride, confusion, and instability. Men boast of order, but they keep producing disorder. They promise decisive outcomes, but they deliver wider chaos. They talk peace while dropping bombs, then talk inevitability when they cannot secure the very result they said was necessary at the start. That is not wisdom. That is the blindness of power drunk on its own mythology.

The real lesson here is not merely that Trump may be cutting his losses. The deeper lesson is that modern political power remains what it has always been when separated from truth: loud, forceful, theatrical, and ultimately fragile. This war was sold in the language of control. It is now being reframed in the language of retreat. And that is the headline beneath the headline. Trump can call it strategy, his boot-licking defenders can call it leverage, and Fox News can call it a recalibration. But to those of us with eyes that see, it sure looks like this war did not go as planned, the allies never truly came on board, the Strait of Hormuz remains the visible symbol of unfinished business, and the White House is already preparing the public for an ending that falls far short of the original implied promise.

One more thing. To say that Donald Trump has a ‘mercurial’ nature would be a vast understatement, so I will close with the possibility that he could change his mind by five o’clock tonight and send the ground troops in anyway. To quote Forrest Gump, our president is very much like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get. Bring our soldiers home, it’s time to say goodbye to World War Trump.
