French president Emmanuel Macron said Paris would provide the SCALP surface-to-air missile system to strike targets further inside Russian-occupied territory.

This time it’s surrounding sending next-level firepower to Ukraine in the form of SCALP surface-to-air long range missiles. According to weapons company MBDA, ‘Storm Shadow / SCALP is the air-launched long range, conventionally armed, deep strike weapon, designed to meet the demanding requirements of pre-planned attacks against high value fixed or stationary targets, giving unrivalled deep strike capability.’

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: ‘We have decided to deliver new SCALP missiles allowing deep strikes to Ukraine,’ he said, without saying how many would be sent from its arsenal of just under 400. A senior French military source said the shipments have already begun, and that they will be fired from non-Western fighter jets. It rebalances things and enables Ukraine to hit deep into Russian lines and can penetrate tougher targets,’ he said, dismissing concerns that it could escalate the war further.

Pressure is mounting on Joe Biden to send crucial long-range missiles to Ukraine after France said it would ship the potentially game-changing weapons.

It follows a decision by Britain in May to its own version of the missile system, known as Storm Shadows, becoming the first country to supply long-range missiles and help the Ukrainian military drive out the Russian invaders. Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly welcomed the announcement.

‘If other countries in the NATO alliance are able to make donations in various forms, that’s great,’ the UK’s top diplomat said. ‘There is no reason at all why we would want any other thinking.’

Macron’s move could see Biden face calls from Ukraine hawks in Congress to stump up U.S. stocks of ATACMS missiles. Washington is the biggest backer of the Ukrainian war effort, providing more than $40 billion in military aid. But the White House has repeatedly refused to grant the 190-mile range missiles amid fears they could attack deep inside Russia’s internationally-recognized borders. Officials have argued that sending the weapons would be an escalatory move that could provoke Vladimir Putin to lash out.

Shortly after Macron’s announcement, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov threatened Ukraine with punishment ‘countermeasures’ after the French move.

‘From our point of view, this is a mistaken decision, with serious consequences for the Ukrainian side, because naturally it will force us to take countermeasures,’ Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s long-serving chief propagandist, said. ‘I repeat our position of principle regarding such decisions (on arms deliveries): they cannot influence the course of events’ in Ukraine,’ he added.

Russia made a similar threat against Britain when it delivered its long-range cruise missiles, but it never materialized. Retired General Ben Hodges, former commander of U.S. forces in Europe, praised the French move.

‘Ukraine can make Crimea untenable for the Russian Navy if they have enough long-range precision strike capability. Taurus from Germany and ATACMS from the U.S. would be huge. I don’t know why France and the UK can do this but not them,’ he said. READ MORE

French president Emmanuel Macron has said his country will begin supplying long-range SCALP missiles to Ukraine to help Kyiv beat back Russia’s invasion. Addressing reporters after arriving at a NATO summit in Lithuania, Macron said: ‘I have decided to increase deliveries of weapons and equipment to enable the Ukrainians to have the capacity to strike deeply while keeping our doctrine to allow Ukraine to defend its territory.’

You got to hand it to Emmanuel Macron, For the third time in 6 short months, Paris and the surrounding cities are literally burning to the ground in riotous protest, and he is cool as a cucumber. So cool, in fact, that he can easy-as-you-please attend an Elton John concert instead of worrying about quelling the riots. Is Emmanuel Macron the coming Antichrist? I don’t know, but he sure has his arrogance, that’s for sure.

The former president of the French National Assembly, Richard Ferrand, said he would be in favour of a third term for the current president Emmanuel Macron, causing a media firestorm.

With the passing of time, slow at first but now with urgency, the man who would rule France and all Europe like the god Jupiter digs his heels deeper and deeper into the end times landscape. That man is Emmanuel Jean Michel Frederic Macron, and his end times vision of himself flying over his subjects on the back of a white horse as he reigns in majesty gets closer and closer to reality. Third term? Well, God does like to do things in 3’s.

Everyone gets excited when they see someone like King Charles calling for ‘trillions’ to be given to an unnamed man who will fight Climate Change through a military-style takeover, but his majesty Chuckie Cheese is not the Antichrist. But what I can see is those trillions being put in the hands of Emmanuel Macron right after the Pretrib Rapture of the Church takes place. Will Emmanuel Macron get a third term? Yes, he likely will, and a whole lot more than that.

Emmanuel Macron Tempted By a Third Term as President?

FROM THE EUROPEAN CONSERVATIVE: Richard Ferrand, who served as president of the National Assembly from 2018 to 2022, and who now has executive responsibilities on the Renaissance Party board, gave a lengthy interview to Le Figaro on Sunday, June 18th. Posing with a serious air in front of magnificent shelves full of precious old books—in reality, a simple wallpaper using a photo from an image bank—the former referee of the deputies gives his vision for and thoughts about the current state of French political life. This interview is his first time speaking to the media since his defeat in the legislative elections in the spring of 2022.

In the guise of a wise man who has returned from battle, he paints an extremely glowing portrait of the actions of Emmanuel Macron and his camp and hails the “modernisation drive” coming from above. He castigates the ineffectiveness of oppositions and advocates a kind of post-political world, where ideological differences should give way to a ‘sacred union’ made indispensable by the country’s need to reform itself.

In his mind, France needs a saviour to be reformed. And Macron is the man.

Yet, the French constitution, as it currently stands, prohibits a president from serving more than two consecutive terms. This means that Emmanuel Macron will not be able to stand in the next presidential elections, scheduled for 2027. Richard Ferrand explains that he regrets this situation in barely veiled terms:

On a personal level, I regret anything that restricts the free expression of popular sovereignty. The time limit on the presidential term of office, the non-accumulation of terms of office, etc … All these things bind our public life into rules that restrict the free choice of citizens.

He then suggested changing the constitutional rules: “Let’s change all that,” he declared in a voluntarist tone.

These few words were enough to set off a media storm: the former president of the National Assembly, known for being one of the president’s closest advisers, who is sometimes suggested to become prime minister one day, would like to change the constitution to allow Emmanuel Macron to stay in power longer. The left-wing NUPES coalition immediately denounced Macron’s “imperial” ambitions. On the Right, while the references differ, the feeling is similar: “Changing the Constitution to allow himself to stay in power … the last two to have done so are Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin … so this is Emmanuel Macron’s ‘democratic’ plan?” denounced LR senator Alain Houpert.

The day after his interview was published in Le Figaro, Richard Ferrand was quick to clarify his comments and deny the plan he was being accused of, deeming it “appalling to see social networks and lazy media getting worked up over a stupid proposal that I am not making.”

“My comment was not to say that the rules had to be changed for 2027,” he added in his defence.

In any case, the speed and scale of public reaction to the underlying themes of Richard Ferrand’s interview proves that the question of Emmanuel Macron’s staying in power is a sensitive one.

The Putin-like scenario implicitly suggested by Ferrand revives a persistent rumour that has been circulating in the French political press for several weeks: that Emmanuel Macron has no intention of relinquishing power and is considering every possible avenue to staying in office. The rumour was launched at the end of 2022 by a former Socialist Minister of Justice, Jean-Jacques Urvoas, a specialist in public law: in the midst of a social conflict over pensions, Macron is said to be considering resigning so that he can stand for re-election in the same breath, on the grounds that he has not served two full terms in office.

This rumour finds its credibility in the absence of a politically credible profile to succeed Emmanuel Macron as head of state. The question raised by Richard Ferrand’s controversial remarks remains unanswered to this day: is Macronism now in a position to offer Emmanuel Macron an heir? READ MORE
