Marco Rubio says the Trump administration on Wednesday will seek to assert its control over Venezuelan oil overseeing the sale of Venezuela’s petroleum worldwide.

Donald Trump is a one-man crusader to end narco-trafficking all by himself, with each boat they blew up saving 25,000 American lives with each strike. I’ll grant you, if true, that’s exciting stuff. But as Paul Harvey would say, “and now for the rest of the story.” Gone is all pretense of “ending narco-terrorism” and in its place an American oil orgy to the tune of 50 million barrels of the golden crude. And that’s just getting the party started.

Now, I hate to say “I told you so”, but seriously, I told you this would happen, that it was never about narco-traffickers in drug boats, it was always about using a pretext to seize another nations oil. It breaks my heart seeing all the QAnon and MAGA (is there really a difference anymore?) Trump followers gleefully and dutifully falling down at Trump’s feet, issuing thunderous applause for all his authoritarian antics. People are going to one day wake up, but by the time they do, the time to have done something about what’s coming will be over. So go ahead and cheer on your king, but please have me excused. I’ll be the street preacher on the corner, warning the people about the coming judgment.

US seeks to assert its control over Venezuelan oil with tanker seizures and sales worldwide

FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS: Trump’s administration intends to control the distribution of Venezuela’s oil products globally following its ouster of President Nicolás Maduro in a surprise nighttime raid. Besides the United States enforcing an existing oil embargo, the Energy Department says the “only oil transported in and out of Venezuela” will be through approved channels consistent with U.S. law and national security interests.

That level of control over the world’s largest proven reserves of crude oil could give the Trump administration a broader hold on oil supplies globally in ways that could enable it to influence prices. Both moves reflect the Republican administration’s determination to make good on its effort to control the next steps in Venezuela through its vast oil resources after Trump has pledged the U.S. will “run” the country.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested that the oil taken from the sanctioned vessels seized in the North Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea would be sold as part of the deal announced by Trump on Tuesday under which Venezuela would provide up to 50 million barrels of oil to the U.S.

The Trump administration, meanwhile, is “selectively” removing sanctions to enable the shipping and sale of Venezuelan oil to markets worldwide, according to an outline of the policies published Wednesday by the Energy Department.

The sales are slated to begin immediately with 30 million to 50 million barrels of oil. The U.S. government said the sales “will continue indefinitely,” with the proceeds settling in U.S.-controlled accounts at “globally recognized banks.” The money would be disbursed to the U.S. and Venezuelan populations at the “discretion” of Trump’s government. U.S. military forces have successfully taken control of the Russian-flagged Marinera oil tanker in the North Atlantic Sea, it has been confirmed

This is a breaking news story, and events are being updated in real-time, but that said, it looks like Trump just authorized the military to take control of a Russian oil tanker, with new information now saying that the seizure has been successful. Will Russia take this lying down, or will there be serious consequences to it? In case you haven’t been paying attention, the entire world is entering into a period of geopolitical realignment, and that’s an understatement. War is coming, so buckle up.

Trump said Tuesday that Venezuela would hand over 30 million to 50 million barrels of oil to the U.S., as its vast reserves emerged as a key pillar of his plans — and a point of tension with Russia and China. US forces seize sanctioned, Russia-flagged oil tanker Marinara that eluded Venezuela blockade

FROM THE NY POST: US forces boarded and seized sanctioned oil tanker Marinera Wednesday morning, more than two weeks after it eluded a blockade around Venezuela and was reflagged as a Russian vessel in a failed bid to evade capture.

Military and Coast Guard personnel boarded the ship, formerly known as the Bella 1 and now called the Marinera, in the North Atlantic between Iceland and the British Isles, US European Command confirmed.

“The vessel was seized in the North Atlantic pursuant to a warrant issued by a U.S. federal court after being tracked by USCGC Munro,” the Stuttgart, Germany-based command said in a statement. “This seizure supports the president’s Proclamation targeting sanctioned vessels that threaten the security and stability of the Western Hemisphere.”

The ship dodged a sweeping US quarantine of vessels transporting oil to and from Venezuela — a blockade that President Trump imposed late last year ahead of Saturday’s arrest of the South American country’s president, Nicolas Maduro.

“The blockade of sanctioned and illicit Venezuelan oil remains in FULL EFFECT — anywhere in the world,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth proclaimed after the successful seizure. READ MORE
