Elon Musk issued a blistering criticism of the massive Republican bill for President Donald Trump’s agenda Tuesday, posting on X that it is a ‘disgusting abomination.’

Trump and the Magagites call it the ‘big, beautiful bill’, and that’s correct on all 3 counts. It is a bill, it is very big, and to a select group of individuals it is quite beautiful. But the world’s richest man Elon Musk thinks it’s an ‘disgusting abomination’ and wants nothing to do with it. Washington watchers are calling this a ‘stunning departure’ from the previous Musk-Trump bromance.

I don’t know about you, but so far, I am not so happy with what the Trump administration has brought to the table. All I really see is that Donald Trump, his family and their close associates have gotten fabulously wealthy. For Elon Musk to separate from Trump is understandable, for Musk to say the very harsh words that he did about the ‘big, beautiful bill’ is a different story altogether. The Deep State is not only surviving the Trump presidency, it appears to be thriving as well.

Elon Musk calls Trump agenda bill ‘disgusting abomination’ days after White House send-off

FROM NBC NEWS: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

“It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt,” added Musk, who left the White House last week.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has said the package would increase the deficit by $2.3 trillion with its tax cuts and spending hikes on immigration enforcement in the military outstripping the savings. Musk, a top Republican donor during the 2024 elections, doubled down later in the day, posting on X: “In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people.”

A source familiar with the Musk-Trump relationship told NBC News that four issues, which Axios was first to report, were likely behind Musk’s frustration on social media.

The source highlighted the absence of electric vehicle tax credits from the bill, which would benefit Musk’s Tesla customers as one factor, and noted how Musk had been pushing for the Federal Aviation Administration to use his Starlink satellite system in their FAA control systems. The source also pointed to personnel issues, noting that a nomination for Musk ally Jared Isaacman to serve as NASA administrator had been pulled over the weekend and that Musk himself had hoped to stay on in his special government employee capacity beyond the 130-day period, which the White House ultimately did not accommodate.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla, had previously signaled his disappointment in the legislation, telling CBS News he believed it was a “massive spending bill” that “undermines” the work of his Department of Government Efficiency operation. The remarks came as an unwelcome surprise to Republicans on Tuesday as the Senate considers changes to the version passed by the House while seeking to placate competing factions internally, including those that want to reduce the red ink.

“We obviously respect everything that Elon did with DOGE. On this particular issue, we have a difference of opinion,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., told reporters. “He’s entitled to that opinion, but we’re going to proceed full speed ahead.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said it was “a dangerous thing” for Musk to be “meddling with” the economy, noting that a debt limit hike to avert a default was part of the bill.

“This is the key to the economic resurgence of America. It’s going to be jet fuel for the economy. And the sooner we do it, the better,” Johnson told reporters. “And by the way, the debt ceiling is also revved into this legislation. That is a dangerous thing for Elon or anyone who has who cares about the U.S. economy to be meddling with. And I think the risk is very great.” READ MORE

President Donald Trump has told his Cabinet and inner circle that Elon Musk is stepping back from his government role at DOGE

From the very beginning of DOGE, Donald Trump and Elon Musk set a timeline in place that could not possibly be managed or sustained, it was too much, too soon and too fast. Don’t get me wrong, like millions of Americans who love this country, a purging of government waste was due, overdue and long overdue. But as the wisest man who ever lived says, there is a time and place for everything under heaven, and it’s all about the timing.

From a practical perspective, staying with DOGE would have ensured the end of Tesla and would have damaged SpaceX to a very high degree, so Elon Musk made the right decision for his shareholders. Since the announcement of Musk stepping down, Tesla’s stock price is up 14.6%, and SpaceX has stabilized. This would be a great time for the Trump administration to step back, take a deep breath, and get a fresh perspective on the goals they promised the American people. When you’re in a marathon, you can’t run it like a sprint, and hopefully President Trump will get that message loud and clear.

FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: The Tesla and Space X founder will soon be returning to the business world, Politico reported, in a move that rattled the stock market and caused shock waves in Washington. It was a joint decision between the two men and Trump said he remains happy with Musk’s work with the Department of Government Efficiency.

But Musk has become a controversial figure due to his slash and burn style of cutting down the federal government. He also just sank $20 million into Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race only to have his Republican candidate lose. And stock in Tesla has dropped sharply with sales down and sales lots are being set on fire.

The report Musk is going back to his business roots did send his company shares’ soaring. He became a billionaire through his various corporate holdings. Trump empowered him to bring that power and success to the federal government.

The decision caused immediate controversy leading to questions as to whether Musk, whose Space X company has billions in government contracts, had a conflict of interest.

Additionally, Musk’s work to cut the size of the federal government has resulted in mass firings and lawsuits against the Trump administration. He’s also proven unpredictability. In all, Musk began to be seen as a political liability. The Democratic candidate in Wisconsin won, in part, by shaping the race as ‘The People vs. Elon Musk.’

Publicly, Trump has supported Musk, keeping him close and visible. Musk has been with him in the Oval Office, walked the path from the White House to Marine One, and gotten rides on Air Force One. The president even turned the South Lawn of the White House into a Tesla show room after the company stock sank. Trump wrote Musk a personal check for one of the electric cars.
