If you are one of the 40 million Americans who take an aspirin every day, you may want to heed the latest warning from the US Food and Drug Administration

After many decades of promoting aspirin, the FDA now says that if you have not experienced a heart problem, you should not be taking a daily aspirin—even if you have a family history of heart disease. This represents a significant departure from FDA’s prior position on aspirin for the prevention of heart attacks.

On its website, the FDA now says:

“FDA has concluded that the data do not support the use of aspirin as a preventive medication by people who have not had a heart attack, stroke or cardiovascular problems, a use that is called ‘primary prevention.’ In such people, the benefit has not been established but risks — such as dangerous bleeding into the brain or stomach — are still present.”

Their announcement was prompted by Bayer’s request to change its aspirin label to indicate it can help prevent heart attacks in healthy individuals. Aspirin generated $1.27 billion in sales for Bayer last year, and from Bayer’s request, it appears they want everyone to be taking their drug.

But the FDA says “not so fast”—and rightly so. Evidence in support of using aspirin preventatively has gone from weak to weaker to nonexistent. This is why I’ve been advising against it for more than a decade. It looks as though aspirin, even “low-dose aspirin” (LDA), may do far more harm than good.

In fact, it is debatable whether or not aspirin has ANY protective benefits against cardiovascular disease, even if you have suffered a heart attack or stroke. Recent scientific studies have uncovered a number of serious side effects, suggesting that whatever aspirin may offer may be overshadowed by its risks, especially when safer natural alternatives exist.

As is true for nearly all medications, the longer we watch for side effects, the more we tend to find—even for drugs like aspirin that have been around for more than 100 years. Just because aspirin is an over-the-counter drug and has been around for more than a century does not mean that it’s harmless.

Aspirin May Conceal a Cardiac Event in Progress

Roughly 800,000 Americans die from cardiovascular disease annually, which includes heart attacks and stroke. This is why heart health has been such a major focus, and why aspirin was hailed as a “wonder drug” by those who believed it was a safe and effective preventative. But that ship has sailed.

Nearly 10 years ago, Dr. John G. F. Cleland, a cardiologist from the University of Hull in the UK, wrote an excellent article published in the British Journal of Medicine casting doubt upon the efficacy of aspirin therapy for prevention of heart attacks.

Based on a series of meta-analyses from the Antithrombotic Trialists’ Collaboration, which is an enormous body of research following more than 100,000 patients at high risk for cardiac events, Dr. Cleland concluded that aspirin therapy was not saving lives. Rather, aspirin seems to change the way vascular events present themselves.

The number of non-fatal events may be reduced, but the number of sudden deaths is actually increased, because what most physicians don’t realize is that surprisingly aspirin can mask a cardiac event in progress.

Dr. Cleland also found that studies touting aspirin’s benefits are seriously flawed and interpretation of those studies is biased. Since Cleland’s original study, a deluge of scientific studies have further exposed aspirin’s failure, which I have summarized in the next few sections.

Studies Show Aspirin Is a Dismal Failure at Preventing Heart Attacks

The following table lists, chronologically, a sampling of studies showing that taking aspirin may do more harm than good. Regardless of whether you’re a man, woman, or diabetic, aspirin has failed miserably. This list of studies is not comprehensive. You will find much more information in the GreenMedInfo database, which lists more than 60 articles about aspirin’s toxic effects.

American Heart Journal 2004 (WASH) – Patients receiving aspirin treatment showed the worst cardiac outcomes, especially heart failure
New England Journal of Medicine 2005 – Ten-year study at Harvard involving nearly 40,000 women found no fewer heart attacks or cardiovascular deaths among women receiving aspirin therapy
British Medical Journal 2009 – Aspirin therapy for diabetics produced no benefit in preventing cardiovascular events
Pharmacoepidemiological Drug Safety 2009 – Swedish researchers studying individuals with diabetes found no clear benefit for aspirin, but did note it can increase the risk of serious bleeding
Journal of the American Medical Association 2010 – Scottish study found that aspirin did not help prevent heart attacks or strokes in healthy, asymptomatic individuals with a high risk of heart disease
Journal of the American College of Cardiology 2010 – Patients taking aspirin showed ahigher risk for recurrent heart attack and associated heart problems
Expert Opinions in Pharmacotherapy 2010 – British meta-analysis of 7374 diabetics concluded that aspirin does not lower heart attack risk

Aspirin Increases Your Risk of Bleeding

Not only has aspirin failed to reduce the prevalence of heart attacks and strokes, but the list of its adverse effects seems to grow greater the more that it is studied. Chief among these is gastrointestinal bleeding, as aspirin interferes with your platelets—the blood cells that allow your blood to clot. According to one article, long-term low-dose aspirin therapy may double your risk for a gastrointestinal bleed.

Aspirin also increases your risk for a brain bleed, especially if you are older. One study found a high mortality rate for elderly individuals who had been taking aspirin prophylactically when they suffered a head trauma, resulting in deadly brain hemorrhage.

Aspirin Destroys the Lining of Your Gastrointestinal Tract

Regular aspirin use also destroys the lining of your gastrointestinal tract, increasing your risk for duodenal ulcers, H. Pylori infection, Crohn’s disease, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and intestinal perforations. More than 10 percent of patients taking low-dose aspirin develop gastric ulcers. The damage to your duodenum—the highest part of your intestine into which your stomach contents pass—can result in duodenal ulcers, which are prone to bleeding. Even low-dose aspirin is proven to cause problems.

A Japanese study found a higher incidence of bleeding at the ulcer sites of patients with duodenal ulcers taking low-dose aspirin (LDA) therapy, versus those not taking LDA. An Australian study also showed that aspirin causes gastroduodenal damage even at the low doses used for cardiovascular protection (80mg). And Japanese researchers found that aspirin had caused “small bowel injuries” to 80 percent of study participants after only two weeks of aspirin therapy.

Even MORE Bad News for Bayer

Each year, 15,000 people die and 100,000 people are hospitalized as the result of aspirin and other NSAIDs—and these are probably conservative estimates. But aspirin may be one of the oldest killer drugs! Strong historical evidence points to aspirin overdose as a major contributor to high death tolls during the 1918 influenza pandemic. Aspirin toxicity can result in hemorrhage and fluid buildup in your lungs, which can result in death. If you are interested in the evidence for this, please read Dr. Karen Starko’s fascinating paper in Clinical Infectious Diseases.

Lending even more weight to Starko’s work, an animal study in 2010 suggests that treating the flu with antipyretics (such as aspirin) may increase your risk of death. This study involved animals, but the results were compelling enough for the researchers to make an “urgent call” for human studies. Aspirin also depletes your body of important nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid, iron, potassium, sodium, and zinc, as well as impairing your melatonin production. And in addition to aspirin’s growing list of bodily assaults, routine aspirin use has been associated with even broader health problems, such as:

Increased risk of one type of breast cancer in women (ER/PR-negative)
Increased risk of kidney failure
Cataracts, macular degeneration, and blindness
Hearing loss and tinnitus
Erectile dysfunction: Aspirin and other NSAIDs have been linked to a 22 percent increase in your risk of erectile dysfunction (ED), according to Kaiser researchers who studied more than 80,000 men

The Real Key to Protecting Your Heart Is Reducing Chronic Inflammation

Getting back to the subject of your heart, with all of these adverse effects, why risk taking aspirin when there are safer and more effective alternatives? About one in three deaths in the US are attributed to cardiovascular disease—but 25 percent of those are preventable.

The key is to address chronic inflammation, which can be accomplished by making specific lifestyle changes that encompass diet, exercise, sun exposure, and bare skin contact with the earth. Let’s stop the nonsense right here. The regime is still in place. There was no collapse, no overthrow, no final blow. Tehran survived the storm, retained its ruling structure, and forced the United States into a pause instead of absorbing the annihilating follow-through strike that had been loudly threatened. That is not what defeat looks like. That is what “live to fight another day” looks like. Iran got everything they wanted last night, Trump had them in the crosshairs and let them go. On his Truth Social page, President Trump said “A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough!… Likewise, so has everyone else! Just like we are experiencing in the U.S., this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East!!!” TACO Trump strikes again, leaving America noticeably weakened in the eyes of our enemies like Russia And China who now know Trump will back down at the critical moment.

On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, if 20th-century history teaches us anything about the Middle East and Iran , it is that the regime that has been in place since I graduated high school will do anything, say anything, and pretend to agree to anything to stay in power. Last night, President Trump had the opportunity to end it, once and for all, to eradicate the regime of the Ayatollahs, remove the enriched uranium, and reset the world’s most prolific terror state. But with mere minutes to go until his own deadline was reached, President Trump stepped away and gave Iran everything they needed to keep fighting. According to the UK Daily Mail, Iran is charging $1 million per ship to pass through the strait, something that they are now referring to as the ‘Tehran Tollbooth’. America is talking like it won, but Iran is still ruling Iran, still controlling the Strait of Hormuz, still forcing the world to deal with it, and now possibly collecting massive transit money on top of it. That is not the profile of a regime on its back foot. That is the profile of a regime that took the punch, stayed on its feet, and is already looking for a way to profit from the next round. So yes, from a “fight another day” perspective, Iran won big. It survived. It kept the regime intact. It retained leverage over the world’s energy artery. And if these toll reports are even close to true, then Tehran is now making money off a ceasefire America needed after telling the world the war was already won. It was a black eye for Trump and a bad day for America.

TACO Trump Blinks On Iran, Backs Away From War Deadline And Hides Behind Two-Week Ceasefire Brokered At The Last Minute

Donald Trump spent the day talking like a wartime Caesar, threatening Iran with civilizational destruction if Tehran did not submit by his deadline. Then, just one hour before the clock ran out, he did what he so often does when the pressure gets real, he blinked. Multiple outlets reported Tuesday, April 7, 2026, that Trump accepted a two-week ceasefire arrangement tied to diplomacy and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with Pakistan playing the central mediating role. Don’t get me wrong, I am glad there won’t be nuclear war tonight, I truly am. But I am saddened and embarrassed watching the pusillanimous flip-flopper Trump running his mouth only to make another meaningless deadline.

That is not iron resolve, that’s not Churchillian nerve. That is not the conduct of a man who means what he says. That is the now-familiar Trump cycle in full view: issue a threat big enough to shake markets and dominate headlines, pound the table, demand surrender, and then retreat into a “temporary pause” the moment the consequences of his own rhetoric begin to close in. AP reported Trump warning that a “whole civilization will die tonight,” while also noting the administration was pulled toward a two-week diplomatic off-ramp.

And that is exactly why the “TACO Trump” label keeps sticking to him like tar. “TACO” stands for “Trump Always Chickens Out,” a phrase that was coined by Financial Times columnist Robert Armstrong in the tariff context before spreading into the broader political culture. CBS and ABC both traced the acronym to Armstrong and explained its meaning the same way: Trump talks maximum toughness and then backs off before the final collision. What just happened illustrates that beautifully.

Now that same label fits this Iran episode like a glove. Trump wanted the political theater of a final ultimatum. He wanted the optics of a strongman standing on the brink of decisive action. He wanted the world to believe that midnight would bring fire. Instead, midnight brought another extension, another pause, another exit ramp, another reminder that Trump loves the language of confrontation more than the reality of it. The ceasefire was reached only hours before Trump’s own deadline for major military strikes.

Let’s say it plainly: you do not get to spend the afternoon threatening to wipe out a civilization and then spend the evening hiding behind a “double-sided ceasefire” without being called exactly what that looks like. It looks weak. It looks theatrical. It looks like a man addicted to brinkmanship but terrified of the bill coming due. Even AP’s more cautious live coverage still described the moment as Trump pulling back on his threats for two weeks, subject to Iran agreeing to terms.

To be fair on the facts, the surrounding details were still moving fast Tuesday night. Axios framed the ceasefire as agreed; AP emphasized Pakistan’s push for the delay; The Guardian described Trump as suspending the deadline rather than pressing forward immediately. But across those reports, the core point holds steady: Trump did not follow through on the thunder he had just unleashed. He backed away into a two-week pause. This latest Iran ceasefire does not make Trump look like a master strategist. It makes him look like what his critics have been saying all along: loud on the front end, slippery on the back end, and forever trying to pass off retreat as genius. He wanted to look like a lion, but he ended the day looking like TACO Trump once again.

Kharg Island Hit, Deadline Broken, and Trump Talks of a Civilization Dying Tonight as Middle East Brinkmanship In Iran Turns Fully Apocalyptic

Donald Trump’s latest Truth Social post is not the language of peace, prudence, or strength. It is the language of a man standing on the edge of a regional firestorm and talking like he is prepared to push the whole thing over the cliff. When a sitting president says, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” after U.S. strikes had already hit more than 50 military targets on Kharg Island earlier in the day, that is not measured leadership. That is apocalyptic brinkmanship dressed up as strategy. That is World War Trump.

“And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” Daniel 2:21 (KJB)

We understand that according to Daniel 2:21, that is is God that sets up kings and removes kings, all to accomplish His will in an given dispensation. If we believe that, and we do, then we rightly understand that Donald Trump is God’s man “on the throne” for this time we find ourselves in right now. A period of time the Bible calls the last days. So everything we are watching now are events and situations that have prophecy stamped all over them, because it is time for the prophets to be fulfilled.

I have been saying for 10 years now that the whole reason why I voted for Donald Trump, all three times, was because I want very much for the end times timeline to be advanced. Trump is not doing it, God is doing it through Trump, and I agree with Isaiah that all this is a “strange act” and absolutely a “strange work” to behold. God has given America the president we deserve, amen? Amen.

I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,’ he wrote. ‘However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?
