Is It Judgment? Midwest Drought Turning America’s Breadbasket Into Wastebasket

Certainly it’s just coincidence that in the same month that President Obama formally declared that the policy of America would now be in favor of Gay Marriage that America’s Heartland began to dry up and begin to experience massive crop failure.
From NBC News: The drought ruining crops, shrinking water supplies and exacerbating wildfires intensified dramatically over the last week, U.S. forecasters reported Thursday. The weekly Drought Monitor shows “widespread intensification” in the central U.S., the National Drought Mitigation Center said in a statement.
States posting dramatic increases in just the last week included Illinois, which went from 8 percent in extreme/exceptional drought to 70 percent, and Nebraska, which went from 5 percent to 64 percent.
Across the contiguous U.S., the total area under all kinds of drought grew only slightly but the most severe categories — extreme and exceptional — rose from 13.5 percent to 20.5 percent — the highest level since 2003.
The jump “this week was the largest since we started the U.S. Drought Monitor” 12 years ago, Brian Fuchs, a climatologist and Drought Monitor author, told NBC News. “This is really showing the rapid intensification of the drought due to the heat/dryness over the region with little relief for anyone.”
“We’ve seen tremendous intensification of drought through Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Arkansas, Kansas and Nebraska, and into part of Wyoming and South Dakota in the last week,” Fuchs said in the center’s statement.
Every state had at least a small area categorized as “abnormally dry” or worse. “It’s such a broad footprint,” Fuchs said.
The Weather Channel noted the jump is the equivalent of adding 219,000 square miles to the worst drought categories — “an area slightly larger than the states of California and New York combined,” it noted. source – NBC News

Just took a 4100-mile trip through that area, and you know what? I saw thousands upon thousands of acres, lush, green crops. PA, OH, IN, IL, MO. It did not appear to be burning up of corn fields and other crops. As far as the eye could see they were doing just fine. Approaching the lower part of Oklahoma and Wichita Falls TX it was toast, but then on to Mississippi, it became lush. Again the fields looked fine making way to the Carolinas. Now what fits is the scare tactic to drive food prices up intentionally when oil companies comsume 40% of the corn for bio-fuel use.

I live in central Illinois and I assure you, the corn here is burning up. The bottom half of the stalks are brown, and the ears are small and underdeveloped. I am not sure what part of Illinois you traveled through, but I have been from Springfield down to Edwardsville, and just about everything in this radius is burning up. I certainly cannot speak for the other states you traveled through, but this is turning into a very serious situation that we need to be aware of and not take lightly. I assure you, where I live, this is no ‘scare tactic’, this is reality. My grass is brown, the ground is cracking, and the leaves are falling off the trees. I do not recall the last time it rained here, and I have no reason to lie or be involved in any scare tactic. Almighty God is withholding rain, America is so wicked and vile; immoral, greedy, selfish, arrogant, idolators, liars, etc. My prayer is for sinners to cry out for mercy and turn from their wickedness, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and His atoning work that reconciles sinners back to a God who is holy and detests all sin. I assure you, it isn’t going to get any better.

Lyn, is dead-on correct. We are under the judgment of a Holy God. American has sinned & turned her back on Him. Those that refuse to believe this are quite ignorant. Here in OH in the farmland it is brittle, dry, broken. Next year’s food prices will be out of sight. This country is not getting any better, believe in the Bible, then you have to believe that. Each individual must cry out to the Lord for forgiveness. This country & its leaders are evil.

Note to KB: you are wrong. Those farmers that have green fields are the ones who are able to have watering systems. There are some of those here in OH also, not everyone can afford that though. The more our ‘melting pot’ becomes a chamber pot the more our breadbasket will become a wastebasket. Not only do we, as a nation, tolerate sin and often condone it-we now enourage it. There is a difference between toleration and condonation but we have proudly placed perverts in our pulpits. Yes, God is the God of love but he is also the God of judgement and we proudly ignore His laws and attempt to use our own logic to justify breaking those laws. We are more concerned with what the ‘world’ thinks of us than what God thinks of us. The more we spiral down morally the more we will spiral down in all other aspects of our existance. Right has become wrong and wrong has become right. Our society takes darkness for light and light for darkness. We are in big trouble but still society will deny, deny, deny.

Folks, Folks, Folks…I am not saying the country is not under judgment. I for one believe it as well. All that I am saying is I traveled I70 to I44 then I20. I saw what I saw. I would not make it up either. The fields were tagged at the end the rows. Like I said before it was pretty toasty as we hit OK to TX but turned to lush green as heading eastward again. Oil companies are mandated to used bio-fuels in gasoline. The consumption of 40% corn (FOOD) to generate bio-fuels. Hence driving the food prices up. It would make sense to use switchgrass harvested 3-times a year and the whole plant is used except for the root. Additionally it grows in harsh climates as well as moderate to exceptional. Why use food?

This is the silliest thing I’ve read in a while, in the 1980′s we were warned of climate change because of greenhouse gas emissions. This is due to climate change, not “gods reckoning”. Did you know, the more educated an individual is, the less likely they are religious. Just sayin….
Oh and the fact this has anything to do with obama allowing gay marriage is exactly whats wrong with America, ignorant people opposed to change. IMO the very addition of religion into society has negative effects of innovation and economic prosperity.

No, it is not climate change…that is indeed a hoax. God does judge a nation, but if you are not a believer, you wouldn’t have any idea what it means. It isn’t going to be how “man” wants it or likes it, it’s going to be in the end, how an Almighty God wants…. & He will make it so. He is a Righteous Judge. Mock Him if you wish, but one day your knee will bow before Him. P.S. All the education in the world will not help you when you stand before the King of Kings.

I’m a female. Yes, it’s good to read Revelation, you will receive a blessing as it says..but it is good to read all of God’s Word. I have read & studied it many, many times & sat under many teachings. But All Scripture is good…. if you are God’s child then you know that. I am already seeing prophecies come to pass, as you must be also. Come quickly, Lord Jesus! Is He your Savior?

The lost children have to begin loving the Father who created them. That love comes from obeying His every command . Through obeying His commandments the Father will lead them to His Son Jesus Christ to be saved from eternal torment in Hell.

Would enjoy talking with you more, perhaps through email. I want to be blameless before our Savior. I want my lamp not to be empty of oil. I know that I do fall short many times. There is much online against our Father, most especially on FB. But the unbelievers get very nasty; & deny all of this. I am heart-broken for our nation.
