United States Formally Accuses Russian Military Of Committing War Crimes In Ukraine As Possible Prelude To American Intervention

Biden has vowed not to engage in direct conflict with Russia but has pledged the United States will defend all NATO territory. He has ordered more US troops to NATO’s eastern flank to reassure those edgy allies. During his visit to Poland, Biden will visit US troops and meet with experts involved in the humanitarian response to helping hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who have fled their country and those who remain there. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken clarified the US position on Russia’s actions against Ukraine on Wednesday: “The US government assesses that members of Russia’s forces have committed war crimes in Ukraine.”

As pretend president Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken formally accuse the Russian military of war crimes in Ukraine, US troops continue to pour into eastern Europe. The powder keg is rapidly filling up to the top, all it’s going to take is one, little spark for blow the whole thing sky high, exactly what Putin is hoping for.

“Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.” Isaiah 3:25 (KJB)

Ukraine president Zelensky is begging NATO to get involved, Russian president Putin is begging NATO to get involved, and American president Biden is dutifully following the breadcrumbs right into the trap.

Russia is committing war crimes – US Secretary of State Blinken

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: Last week, US President Joe Biden called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “war criminal” for his invasion of Ukraine. Blinken echoed the statements then.

“As with any alleged crime, a court of law with jurisdiction over the crime is ultimately responsible for determining criminal guilt in specific cases,” Blinken said, adding that the assessment is based on carefully collected data and documentation of Russian forces throughout the last month.

There have been multiple incidents since the invasion where Russian forces allegedly targeted Ukrainian sites that were clearly marked as occupied by civilians and not military targets — a direct violation of international law — including a theater and a school, both of which were serving as shelters. Russian climate envoy and personal advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Anatoly Chubais, has resigned and left the country on Wednesday, citing his opposition to President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine. Chubais is the highest-level official to break off from Moscow over the invasion.

Known as the architect of Russia’s 1990s privatizations, Chubais gave Putin his first Kremlin job in the mid-1990s and initially welcomed his rise to power at the end of that decade. Chubais, 66, is one of the few 1990s-era economic reformers who’d remained in Putin’s government and had maintained close ties with Western officials. Russia told Washington on Wednesday it would throw out a number of American diplomats in response to a US move to expel Russian staff from the permanent UN mission, Interfax news agency said. The agency also cited the foreign ministry as telling the United States any hostile actions against Russia would provoke a decisive response.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz warned Putin in direct talks not to use biological or chemical weapons in Ukraine, a government spokesperson said on Wednesday. German government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit confirmed the remarks, earlier reported by Die Zeit weekly, at a regular government news conference. President Joe Biden departs for Brussels on Wednesday for talks with European leaders about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, carrying with him plans for more sanctions on Moscow that sources said include members of the Russian parliament.

Biden leaves the White House at 8:40 a.m. EDT on a trip that will include talks in Brussels with NATO and European leaders and a visit to Warsaw for consultations with Polish President Andrzej Duda. Two sources familiar with the situation said Biden and his team were developing plans to impose sanctions on members of the Russian parliament, the Duma, in retaliation for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions are expected to be announced on Thursday.

The Wall Street Journal said 300 members of the Duma could face sanctions. A White House spokesperson said, “no final decisions have been made about who we will sanction and how many we will sanction.”

“We will have additional sanctions measures to announce that will be rolled out in conjunction with our allies on Thursday when the president has the opportunity to speak with them,” the official said.

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters on Tuesday that Biden on Thursday will attend an emergency NATO summit, meet with G7 leaders and address the 27 leaders of the European Union at a session of the European Council. Biden will coordinate on the next phase of military assistance to Ukraine, said Sullivan. In addition to imposing fresh sanctions on Russia, Biden will work with US allies to tighten existing sanctions to “crackdown on evasion and to ensure robust enforcement,” Sullivan said.

Biden has vowed not to engage in direct conflict with Russia but has pledged the United States will defend all NATO territory. He has ordered more US troops to NATO’s eastern flank to reassure those edgy allies. On Europe Day 2022, Emmanuel Macron Stuns By Calling For Creation Of A New European Political Body To Rival The European Union And With More Power

Emmanuel Macron has called for a new political organisation to unite democracies on the European continent, as he warned that Ukraine would probably not join the EU for several decades.

Europe Day is a day to celebrate peace and unity throughout Europe. On this day, according to the official site, it is our collective duty to revitalize the European dream and re-invigorate European integration. COVID-19 has proven to us however that to protect the lives and health of citizens and preserve our economy, the European Union must take robust actions, proportionate to the dangers threatening us. Therefore, we call on liberals to join us in mobilising local politicians and civil society for a large pro-European movement on 9 May to celebrate European unity and peace. Emmanuel Macron used today to call for the creation of a new European political group with real power, with him ostensibly as its leader.

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJB)

Every time the man opens his mouth to speak, he moves himself one step closer to the biblical man of sin that we have been telling you he likely is. In 2017, Emmanuel Macron said his desire was to “rule Europe like the god Jupiter”, and today during Europe Day 2022 celebrations, Macron reiterated his desire to do just that.

Macron calls for new European body and warns Ukraine of EU wait

FROM THE GUARDIAN UK: Speaking two days after being sworn in for a second term as French president, Emmanuel Macron called for big thinking on the future of Europe, saying the war in Ukraine showed the need for a “historic process of reflection”.

Emmanuel Macron also said that Europe must learn from its past mistakes to ensure Russia is not ‘humiliated’ in peace negotiations.

He proposed “a European political community … a new European organisation [that] would enable democratic European nations who adhere to our values to find a new space for political cooperation”, listing security, energy, transport, infrastructure investment and movement across borders, especially for young people, as issues that body would tackle. Being part of this organisation would not exclude a country from joining the EU, and the organisation could include “those who have left” the bloc, he said.

Macron’s intervention comes as EU states clash on how quickly to move forward with Kyiv’s membership application. The question is likely to reach a crunch point in June, when EU leaders decide whether to grant Ukraine candidate status, a procedural step that normally takes years to attain.

Macron suggested he favoured a quick decision on candidate status, while dampening Kyiv’s hopes of a speedy entry into the EU. The awarding of candidate status is followed by talks on accession and a process of reform so that a country meets the EU’s political, economic and legal criteria.

“Even if we were to give it the status of candidate country tomorrow – I hope we move forward towards accession rapidly – even if we were to do that, we all know only too well the process for accession would take several years; in truth, it would probably take several decades. And that is the truth unless we decide to lower the standards for accession and rethink the unity of our Europe, and also partially the principles that we hold,” he said.

“The European Union, given its level of integration and ambition, cannot be the only way to structure the European continent in the short term.” READ MORE

Russia Cuts Of Gas Pipeline To 2 NATO Nations In Dramatic Escalation Of Tensions Leading Speculation On Expansion Of Conflict Across Europe

Natural gas prices in Europe shot up 25% before the market opened Wednesday and then eased off but remained significantly higher. The gas cuts do not immediately put the countries into dire trouble since they have worked on getting alternative sources for several years now and the continent is heading into summer, making gas less essential for households. Yet the move and Kremlin warnings that more nations could be cut off sent shivers of worry through the 27-nation European Union, which immediately convened an emergency meeting.

NOW THE END BEGINS SHARE:

Russia dramatically escalated its standoff with the West over the war in Ukraine on Wednesday, cutting natural gas off to NATO members Poland and Bulgaria and threatening to disconnect even more nations. European leaders decried the move as “blackmail.”

Every time I hear people talking about how “unhinged” Putin is, and how he is mere steps away from collapsing, it makes me laugh because Putin is amazingly crafty, and has set this thing up incredibly well. It was a Hitlerian move to first get the majority of Europe addicted to his smooth flowing and affordable oil and natural gas before declaring was on Ukraine and daring Europe to do anything about it. This week Putin has started the process of cutting of NATO nations from the Gazprom teat.

“And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.” Deuteronomy 33:24 (KJB)

Sending in the disposable conscripts instead of using up his actual soldiers is another evil genius move that is reaping benefits for Putin on many levels. As the war in Ukraine drags on, Putin is expanding the conflict zone to areas like neighboring Moldova, with Poland already looking over their shoulders. Hey, remember when Biden turned off the Keystone Pipeline? Look how wonderfully that fits into Putin turning off the pipeline to Europe, think they colluded on that?

Russia cuts natural gas to 2 NATO nations in escalation

FROM THE AP: A day after the United States and other Western allies vowed to speed more and better military supplies to Ukraine, the Kremlin upped the ante, using its most essential export as leverage. The tactic could eventually force targeted nations to ration gas and deal another blow to economies suffering from rising prices. It could also deprive Russia of badly needed income to fund its war effort.

Benchmark gas prices in Europe shot up on the news that Poland and Bulgaria were cut off, marking another dark turn in a war that has revived the geopolitical rifts of the Cold War.

In a memo, state-controlled Russian giant Gazprom said it was shutting off the countries because they refused to pay in Russian rubles, as President Vladimir Putin had demanded. The company said it had not received any such payment since the beginning of the month, though Bulgaria’s energy minister disputed that. Fatih Birol, the executive director of the Paris-based International Energy Agency, said the cutoff was a “weaponization of energy supplies,” while EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called it “yet another attempt by Russia to use gas as an instrument of blackmail.”

Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov also called the suspension blackmail. “We will not succumb to such a racket,” he added.

Natural gas prices in Europe shot up 25% before the market opened Wednesday and then eased off but remained significantly higher. The gas cuts do not immediately put the countries into dire trouble since they have worked on getting alternative sources for several years now and the continent is heading into summer, making gas less essential for households.

Yet the move and Kremlin warnings that more nations could be cut off sent shivers of worry through the 27-nation European Union, which immediately convened a special coordination group to limit the impact. Russia also more directly targeted support for Ukraine, claiming Wednesday that missiles hit a batch of weapons that the U.S. and European nations had delivered to the embattled country.

With the help of Western arms, Ukrainian forces have been unexpectedly successful at bogging Russia’s forces down, and they thwarted their attempt to take Kyiv. Moscow now says its focus is the capture of the Donbas, the mostly Russian-speaking industrial region in eastern Ukraine. The U.S. pressed its allies Tuesday to move “heaven and earth” to ensure Kyiv remains well-supplied with the weapons necessary for that battle.

The West has also sought to isolate Russia economically, by imposing punishing sanctions — but European countries have struggled to reduce their dependence on Russian energy. Wednesday’s cuts and threats marked a major economic counteroffensive by Moscow.

Europe is not without its own leverage since, at current prices, it is paying some $400 million a day to Russia for gas — money Putin would lose in case of a complete cutoff. Russia can, in theory, sell oil elsewhere — to India and China for instance — because oil primarily moves by ship. But the gas pipeline network from the huge deposits in the Yamal Peninsula in northwestern Siberia to Europe does not connect with the pipelines running to China. And Russia has only limited facilities to export super chilled liquefied gas by ship.

Hence, even a partial stoppage marked a “historical turning point in the bilateral energy relationship” between Russia and Europe, said Simone Tagliapietra, senior fellow at the Bruegel think tank in Brussels. Russia’s goal, Tagliapietra said, is to “divide and rule” — hoping to pit European countries against one another as they gasp for energy. READ MORE

In France, ‘Man Of Sin’ Emmanuel Macron Easily Defeats His Challenger To Win The Presidency And Retain De Facto Control Of Europe

Walking out to the tune of the E.U. anthem, Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” Emmanuel Macron on Sunday night claimed the election as a win for “an ambitious humanist project.” He also gestured to Le Pen’s supporters. “I know that the anger and disagreements that led many of our compatriots to opt for the far right, to vote for this project, must also be addressed,” Macron, 44, said as he spoke in front of the Eiffel Tower to a crowd waving French and E.U. flags. “This will be my responsibility.” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz were among the first world leaders to congratulate Macron. “Together, we will move France and Europe forward,” von der Leyen wrote on Twitter.

Emmanuel Macron was elected to a second term as French president on Sunday evening with 58.8% of the vote, according to an estimate from the Ipsos polling institute

For the past few weeks, many have been emailing me, asking what happens to our end times estimations about the ‘man of sin’ if Emmanuel Macron gets defeated. My answer was simple, whether he stays or goes, at some point, he has to move on past the presidency of France anyway. From the day he was elected in 2017, his ambition was always to rule Europe like the god Jupiter, France is just the means by which he gets there. But no matter, Macron won in a landslide victory as I knew he would.

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJB)

Today here on Day 770 of 15 Days To Flatten the Curve, everything is proceeding apace exactly like how you would expect things to be if you were living in the end times prophesied in your King James Bible, which you absolutely are. Emmanuel Macron remains a man on a mission, and if you read and believe your Bible you know exactly what that mission is. As of this writing, Emmanuel Macron is the twice-elected president of France, the current leader of the European Union and the reigning prince of Andorra. The literal definition of his last name is a ‘horizontal mark’, chew on that for a week or two. The only place he’s going is up, right up to the moment that he comes to his end, and none shall help him.

Victorious Macron vows to unite France after fending off Le Pen threat

FROM MSN: Emmanuel Macron became the first French president in two decades to win a second term on Sunday, holding off a far-right challenge by Marine Le Pen that could have upended Europe.

Macron’s decisive victory offers continuity for France and another five years of political stability for the 27-nation European Union, which has been buffeted by years of challenges from far-right populists, Brexit, an immigration crisis, and now Russia’s war in Ukraine. Le Pen, 53, is an anti-immigrant populist who has expressed admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Some European leaders had feared that having her in charge of the E.U.’s second-biggest economy and only nuclear power would have instigated an unraveling of Western institutions.

Instead, Macron won 59 percent of the vote and Le Pen 41 percent — as conclusive a result as any in an increasingly fragmented age.

Walking out to the tune of the E.U. anthem, Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” Macron on Sunday night claimed the election as a win for “an ambitious humanist project.” He also gestured to Le Pen’s supporters.

“I know that the anger and disagreements that led many of our compatriots to opt for the far right, to vote for this project, must also be addressed,” Macron, 44, said as he spoke in front of the Eiffel Tower to a crowd waving French and E.U. flags. “This will be my responsibility.”

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz were among the first world leaders to congratulate Macron. “Together, we will move France and Europe forward,” von der Leyen wrote on Twitter.

The European Council president Charles Michel tweeted: “Bravo Emmanuel. In this turbulent period, we need a solid Europe and a France totally committed to a more sovereign and more strategic European Union.” The European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, said: “I am delighted to be able to continue our excellent cooperation.” The German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, said French voters had delivered “a strong message in favour of Europe”. Macron’s first foreign trip as president is expected to be to Berlin to see Scholz. READ MORE

French President Emmanuel Macron wins second term

French President Emmanuel Macron will serve a second term as president, defeating far-right candidate Marine Le Pen for a second time. Macron is the first French president to be reelected in 20 years. CBS News foreign correspondent Elaine Cobbe joined Lana Zak to discuss what the victory means for France and its allies.
