Israel Shocker! It Was Netanyahu and NOT Obama That Cancelled War Games

This was the first time Israel had ever postponed a joint military exercise; it generated a seismic moment in relations between the US and Israel at a time when Iran has never been so close to producing a nuclear weapon. It was perceived as a mark of Israel’s disapproval for the administration’s apparent hesitancy in going through with the only tough sanctions with any chance of working against Iran’s nuclear weapon program: penalizing its central bank and blocking payments for its petroleum exports.

Joint US-Israel drill called off by Netanyahu, to Washington’s surprise

Debkafile’s sources disclose exclusively that, contrary to recent reports published in Washington, Jerusalem – and this site too – it was Israel Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, not the Obama administration, who decided to call off the biggest ever joint US-Israeli military exercise Austere Challenge 12 scheduled for April 2012.

Israel is slowing starting to come to the understanding that perhaps Obama does not have their best interests at heart

Washington was taken aback by the decision. It was perceived as a mark of Israel’s disapproval for the administration’s apparent hesitancy in going through with the only tough sanctions with any chance of working against Iran’s nuclear weapon program: penalizing its central bank and blocking payments for its petroleum exports.

This was the first time Israel had ever postponed a joint military exercise; it generated a seismic moment in relations between the US and Israel at a time when Iran has never been so close to producing a nuclear weapon.

This week, Netanyahu further orchestrated a series of uncharacteristically critical statements by senior ministers: Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Yaalon called the Obama administration “hesitant” (Jan. 15), after which Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman urged the Americans to “move from words to deeds” (Jan 16). The underlying message was that the Israeli government felt free to attack Iran’s nuclear sites on its own if necessary and at a time of its choosing. Debkafile’s sources report that Netanyahu decided on this extreme course after careful consideration when he judged the Obama administration’s resolve to preempt a nuclear Iran to be flagging, as indicated by four omissions:

1. Washington has taken no action against Iran’s capture of the RQ-170 stealth drone on Dec. 4 more than a month after the event, and not even pressed President Obama’s demand of Dec. 12 for the drone’s return. Tehran, for its part, continues to make hay from the event: This week, our Iranian sources report, the Islamic Republic circulated a new computer game called “Down the RQ-170.” Players assemble the drone from the components shown on their screens and then launch it for attacks on America.

2. Silence from Washington also greeted the start of 20-percent grade uranium enrichment at the underground Fordo facility near Qom when it was announced Jan. 9. Last November, Defense Minister Ehud Barak warned in two US TV interviews (Nov. 17 and 22) that as soon as the Fordo facility went on stream, Iran would start whisking the rest of its nuclear facilities into underground bunkers, out of reach and sight of US and Israeli surveillance.

Barak made it clear at the time that Israel could not live with this development; therefore, the Netanyahu government believes Israel’s credibility is now at stake.
3. Exactly three weeks ago, on Jan. 3 Lt. Gen. Ataollah Salehi, Iran’s Army chief, announced that the aircraft carrier USS Stennis and other “enemy ships” would henceforth be barred from entering the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz . Yet since then, no US carrier has put this threat to the test by attempting a crossing. Tehran has been left to crow.

4. Even after approving sanctions on Iran’s central bank and energy industry, the White House announced they would be introduced in stages in the course of the year. According to Israeli’s calculus, another six months free of stiff penalties will give Iran respite for bringing its nuclear weapon program to a dangerous and irreversible level. source – DEBKA

DIRECT HIT: Israel Launches First Time Ever Airstrikes On Houthi Rebel Military Targets In The Port City Of Yemen After Drone Strike Hit Tel Aviv

IDF fighter jets struck Houthi military targets in the area of the Hodeidah Port in Yemen, the IDF confirmed Saturday evening.

On our Podcast yesterday, we reported to you how things are off-the-chain-crazy here in America, in Europe and all across the world. Today Israel decided to ramp up the action in the Middle East by conducting their first-ever airstrike on the Houthi rebels in Yemen. The IDF hits oil refining facilities creating a firestorm that can be seen from 100 miles away. It’s as if the entire world was rushing headlong into a global war, which just may be exactly what’s going on.

“And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.” Ezekiel 20:7 (KJB)

Israel may have the situation in Gaza mostly under control, here at Day 287 of their retaliatory battle with Hamas, but there does not seem to be any end in sight for the larger war. Israel right now is flirting with an open war with Hezbollah in Lebanon, as well as a war with the Houthis in Yemen. The prophet Daniel, speaking about the great Tribulation, says “..and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” That’s not for our dispensation, but it sure looks like we will have endless war right up to the rapture of the Church.

IDF fighter jets target oil refining facilities, energy infrastructure in Yemen’s Hodeidah

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: Israeli airstrikes reportedly targeted oil refining facilities in Yemen’s Hodeidah, according to the Houthi-run Yemeni news outlet, Al-Masirah. Local sources in Yemen told Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen that there are power outages in several areas in Hodeidah as a result of the Israeli strikes that hit an electricity production plant.

Israel’s Defense Ministry reported that discussions on approving the operational plans to strike in Yemen took place on Saturday morning under the lead of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, alongside IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and other senior defense officials. The decision was reportedly approved during a cabinet meeting on Saturday.

According to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, who quoted a senior American source, the incident was attributable to Israel, which reportedly conducted the operation alone. The senior official reportedly said that the location of the strike was a military target used by the Houthis for gaining and storing weapons.

The report followed explosions that were reportedly heard in the coastal Yemeni city. Hodeida is controlled by the Houthis. A Yemen-based correspondent for Al Mayadeen claimed that Israeli F-35 fighter jets were responsible for the strike.

Al Mayadeen quoted a member of the Houthi’s Political Bureau, Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, stating, “The Zionist entity will pay the price for targeting a civilian facility, and we will meet escalation with escalation.”

Initial reports from Al-Masirah TV claimed the strikes were carried out by US and British forces before pivoting blame to Israel. The Yemeni news organization, citing an official source, later stated that “Israeli enemy raids” targeted the Hodeidah governate’s energy infrastructure as well as fuel tanks. The explosions follow the drone strike in Tel Aviv that was attributed to the Houthis, which killed one and wounded ten.

Gallant said on Saturday that Israel struck the Houthis in Yemen in order to send a message after they harmed an Israeli citizen.

“The fire that is currently burning in Hodeidah, is seen across the Middle East and the significance is clear,” Gallant said in a statement. “The Houthis attacked us over 200 times. The first time that they harmed an Israeli citizen, we struck them. And we will do this in any place where it may be required.”

On Friday, Israeli officials told Ynet that “there will be a response to the shooting of the Iranian drone by the Houthis” and that they would not rule out the possibility of retaliatory action on Yemeni soil, saying such action was “on the table.”

The Israeli strikes are the first time Israel has directly struck Yemen. READ MORE

An explosive-laden drone launched by Houthis in Yemen struck an apartment building in central Tel Aviv in the pre-dawn hours of July 19. The explosion did not trigger air raid alarms, and hit a building, killing one person and wounding 10 others, according to the Israeli military.

As Israel Continues To Demolish Hamas Terror Tunnels In Gaza, Hezbollah In Lebanon Increases Rocket Attacks On Jews Living In The Golan Heights

Israeli troops operating in Gaza City’s eastern Shejaiya neighborhood have demolished six Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad tunnels amid the latest raid there, Hezbollah drops rockets on Golan Heights

Israel is making great gains in Gaza with the ongoing destruction of the terror tunnels Hamas uses to launch attacks on the Jews, but to the north, Hezbollah continues to rain down rockets on the Golan Heights from Lebanon. One step forward, and three steps back as wars and rumours of war continue to plague God’s chosen people.

“Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.” Jeremiah 22:20 (KJB)

The Jerusalem Post reports today “Lebanon’s Hezbollah published an almost 10-minute video on Tuesday showing footage of 17 military sites in the Golan Heights, which it said had been gathered by the armed group’s surveillance aircraft. The video is the second episode in a series intended to show how far Hezbollah’s surveillance of Israel has reached as tensions mount over Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and over frequent exchanges of fire across Lebanon’s border with Israel.”

IDF demolishes 6 Gaza City tunnels as Hezbollah drops rockets in the Golan from Lebanon

FROM THE TIMES OF ISRAEL: At least three more tunnels have been located and were in the process of being mapped out and demolished, military sources said. One of the destroyed tunnels is considered by the IDF to be Islamic Jihad’s “flagship” tunnel in Gaza City.

The recently discovered 2.5-kilometer (1.5-mile) tunnel was used by the terror group for command and control, according to military assessments.

Troops found laptops, weaponry, and intelligence material inside, indicating it was still being used by the terror group recently. The operation carried out by the 98th Division in Shejaiya, launched on June 27, came after the IDF said it had identified Hamas operatives regrouping in the area, as well as new intelligence on the terror group’s existing infrastructure. Other tunnels found by the 98th Division in Shejaiya included a significant Hamas tunnel within the heart of the neighborhood and several attack tunnels that were dug toward Israel, at least two of which reached close to Israel’s border barrier — just across from Nahal Oz — according to the IDF. source

2 critically wounded in Hezbollah rocket attack on Golan Heights, say medics

The IDF says some 40 rockets were launched at the Golan Heights in the latest barrage from Lebanon. One of the rockets directly struck a car near the Nafah Junction, critically wounding a man and a woman, medics say. Separately, the IDF says it struck a building used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon’s Kafr Kila earlier today. source

TBN Israel’s Yair Pinto reports on the Israel-Hamas War. Pinto reports on the IDF’s targeted raids against known Hamas cells throughout the Gaza Strip in an effort to further dismantle the terrorist organization. In Lebanon, an Israeli air strike has eliminated a top Hezbollah operative spearheading the organization’s air defenses.

4 Hostages Rescued In Stunning IDF Operation Shows Israel Doesn’t Need A Cease-Fire Deal, They Need To Wipe Hamas From Off The Earth, Period

The idea of securing any sort of a cease-fire peace deal with terror group Hamas is not anything that Israel should even consider for a moment

The Nazis in WWII would never, ever in a million years have listened to reason or have been persuaded to surrender until the Allies had all but bombed them into a brutal oblivion. That’s what it took to end that war. Hamas is obviously much smaller than Nazi Germany, and its impact felt only in Gaza and Israel, but the principle remains the same. Negotiations will do nothing to keep Israel safe, only direct and overwhelming military force will do that.

“For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” Deuteronomy 20:4 (KJB)

The idea of a cease-fire with Hamas is ridiculous, Hamas has never played fair or abided by any rules, and they never will. They are a law unto themselves and will never be brought into civil society on any level. Only two things can be done. Either you can allow them to continue to attack you, or you can use military action to render them impotent. There is no third option. Hamas admitted as much earlier today when it said it will not surrender or give up their fight against Israel ever.

‘We will not surrender’: Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh fumes after Israel frees hostages

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: Israeli forces freed hostages Noa Argamani, Andrey Kozlov, Shlomi Ziv, and Almog Meir on Saturday, Hamas published a statement from the terror organization’s leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in which the arch-terrorist asserted that Hamas would not surrender.

Our people will not surrender, and the resistance will continue to defend our rights in the face of this criminal enemy,” Haniyeh reportedly said. “And if the occupation believes that it can impose its choices on us by force, it is delusional, and the movement will not agree to any agreement that does not achieve security for our people first and foremost.”

After securing the release of the hostages, the IDF reported that the rescue operation had taken place in two different locations in central Nuseirat. According to the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza, the bodies of at least 93 Palestinians who were killed during Israeli activities in Nuseirat and other areas in the central region of the Gaza Strip arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital on Saturday.

The ministry does not distinguish between combatants and civilians in its reporting, and the numbers published by the ministry have come under scrutiny, particularly in recent days, for its apparent inflating of the proportion of women and children killed during the war.

Later, Hamas put out another statement saying that the Israeli rescue operation would not “not change its strategic failure in the Gaza Strip” as the terrorist organization still held the bulk of the hostages. Hamas also claimed that it was capable of capturing more hostages. READ MORE

Noa Argamani, 25; Almog Meir Jan, 21; Andrey Kozlov, 27; and Shlomi Ziv, 40, were kidnapped by Hamas from the ‘Nova’ music festival on Oct. 7, according to the Israel Defense Forces. The rescues come after a morning of strikes in Central Gaza. Videos show dozens of people in the emergency department at Al Aqsa Martyrs hospital, the region’s only functioning hospital. Hamas called it an “unprecedented brutal attack” and said there are “dozens of martyrs and wounded in the streets” although they do not yet know how many people were killed and injured in the attack. The rescued hostages have been transferred to the ‘Sheba’ Tel-HaShomer Medical Center and are in good condition, the IDF said.
