On the front lines in Israel
Yesterday, NTEB reported to you on the
bus bomb explosion in Jerusalem. Today, NTEB contributor John McTernan received an email from an Israeli believer which told the story of just how much he and his family were impacted by the explosion. The following was written by John McTernan, of Blessing Israeli Believers:
“Through my ministry, Blessing Israeli Believers, I support a believer in Jerusalem. He just emailed me how the God of Israel protected his three daughters from the bomb that just went off in Jerusalem. His daughters would have been on the bus except they left school early! The following is part of email he just sent to me.
“The bombings are now occurring in the heart of Zion, and our school-age daughters were caught in the midst of the latest bus bombing at 3:00pm today in Jerusalem! The bomb went off at the bus station that our girls use every day at exactly the time they catch the bus. By a miracle, three of our girls left school ten minutes early and caught an earlier bus, and the explosion shook that bus, too. Hanna, our 13 year old daughter, was caught in the explosion but was amazingly unharmed. We spent hours of anxiety trying to trace all of our girls. We found all of them except Hanna but after phoning all the hospitals, we finally found her at 4.30pm suffering only from shock. The explosion was right before her eyes, in the panic she was knocked to the ground with many treading on her anxious to escape as they were urged to clear the area because of the danger of another blast. But Hanna said there was another blast not long after the first.

Our girls haven’t got cell phones, but we need them desperately. We have phones but we had to cut them off because of an unpaid bill. Our daughters were most distressed and in tears because the roads were blocked with injured being evacuated, and they had no way of contacting us, their parents. Please pray as I feel we are entering another wave of terror.”
After reading his letter, a verse came to mind about what God wants us to do with His people Israel. –
Isaiah 40:1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
– He wants us to comfort them in time of distress. This could be the start of the all-out war and we are going to stand with Israel and comfort them. May the Holy God of Israel bless and protect you.”
