False Prophet Harold Camping Predicts The End On May 21, 2011

Harold Camping is a false prophet. The Rapture of the Church will take place at the exact moment and time that God Almighty has decreed it to be, and not...

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain

This is a hard, sad story for me to write. I have met Harold Camping on a few occasions, I have been interviewed on his radio program, and for some time, years back, I was a regular listener and caller to his Open Forum radio program. But over time Harold Camping has drastically changed his theology and his views on the bible. In 1994 he wrote a book claiming that the Rapture would take place on September 6, 1994. It did not, and neither did he repent of his false teaching nor apologize to the masses that he deceived.

Camping contends that “the work of the church is finished,” and that those who remain in the church, during the time of the on-coming “tribulation,” will be destroyed. He thus bids the faithful to flee the church. source - SimpleFreeChurch

Now here we are 17 years later, and he is not only wildly off the track and into major heresy, he has written another book with another date for the Rapture. The new end date he has set is May 21, 2011. The bible declares that no one can know the day or hour of the return of Jesus to this earth for His people. No one. “But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Matthew 24:36

But Mr. Camping’s “revelations” do not begin and end simply with the date-setting proclamation of Christ”s return, not by a long shot. He further ups the ante by making a number of other false statements about the church, the work of the Holy Spirit and the times we are living in. He also teaches the deadly doctrine of Replacement Theology, the idea that Israel having rejected Jesus is forever abandoned by God and the promises made to the Jews and Israel are “transferred” to the Church and the Christians. This idea is from the pit of Hell, and is not found anywhere in the bible. Perhaps Mr. Camping should read the book of Romans sometime – “I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, [of] the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew…” Romans 11:1,2 So in brief then, here are the major false teachings of Harold Camping:

  1. Harold Camping proclaimed the Lord’s return would be in 1994
  2. Harold Camping now proclaims the Lord’s return will be in October, 20, 2011
  3. Harold Camping (Family Radio) has aired Mormon advertisements
  4. Harold Camping taught that NO ONE was saved between 1988 through 1994
  5. Harold Camping teaches that the church age ended in 1994
  6. Harold Camping teaches that the Holy Spirit is NO LONGER working in the church
  7. Harold Camping teaches that EVERY church in the world is apostate /source – Jesus Is Savior

When the Rapture will actually take place

The Rapture of the Church will take place at the exact moment and time that God Almighty has decreed it to be, and not one second sooner or later. It is impossible to “set a date” for the return of Jesus. Jesus Himself, when asked about it in the bible, said that He didn’t have that information available, and that only the Father knew. We must take Him at His word.

Harold Camping is not simply mistaken, he is actively working against the Holy Spirit and against the clear revelation of the Scriptures. Pray that he be recovered from the snare of the Devil that he has placed himself under. But whatever you do, do NOT believe him. Do not trust his false teachings. Trust in the One that saved you, and in His Book, the Holy Bible.
