One simple but profound question that changed the lives of thousands of people

“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23 (KJV)

Meet Frank Jenner, a simple man with a profound question. It was 1941 at the height of WWII when Frank heard God call him to approach 10 people per day on the streets of Sydney Australia and politely ask one simple question: “If you died within 24 hours where would your soul be in eternity, Heaven or Hell?”

One man, standing on George Street in Sydney, Australia, impacted the lives of tens of thousands of people over his 26 years of preaching the gospel on the street. He spent his time handing out tracts and asking people his one, simple question.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” 2 Corinthians 5:10,11 (KJV)

Christian, how about you? If you’re saved, then you have already been called to share the gospel with the lost and prodigal around you. How have you answered that call? If not, why not? You can never lose your salvation, but you can lose your rewards when you come face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ at the Judgement Seat if you have not been faithful to the course that the Lord has given you.

NTEB gospel tracts are bright, 4-color, and printed on glossy postcard stock. On the back is a laser-focused gospel presentation and salvation invitation to the reader. We have personally handed out thousands and thousands of these tracts, and can testify that they are very well received.

      I heard a question this week that most think is very profound. After the supreme court ruling about gay marriage a man was praying to God about this endorsement of gay marriage and he was asked, you can either pray for your country or you can pray for the return of Christ.
      What is happening now will lead to the coming of Christ. The United States is lost and we need to cast our eyes skyward for the soon return of Christ. Let everyone know so that as many people as possible can be saved and become part of the body of Christ.

    So thankful to be the recipient of God’s saving grace, and honored to share such a wonderful gift with others. The tracts are beautiful, I love mine and they make it much easier to share the gospel.
    Kristin had the sweetest face and story is very touching. She is rejoicing in heaven!!!

    GEOFFREY GRIDER – Brother, I thank you for posting this simple message of real and practical evangelism –

    The question now is – am I willing to be led by “the Spirit of God” to tell the Good News that “our Lord Jesus Christ” said:
    “I am the way,
    the truth,
    and the life:
    no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
    (John 14:6, KJB)

    (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”
    (1 John 2:23, KJB)
    .

    • You know, brother, it’s funny. I get emails from people all the time from people who tell me that they “love Jesus so much” they would be willing to “go through the Tribulation” for Him. So then I ask them, how much witnessing do you do NOW, how often do you hand out tracts NOW? And the answer is almost always that they are not witnessing, and that they don’t hand out tracts.

      As Christians, we are called to RECONCILE the lost and the prodigal to Jesus Christ, we find this in both the 4 gospels and in the Pauline epistles. We are not called to go through the Tribulation. Handing out tracts is one of the easiest and most effective way to reach people for Christ.

      I only found our about Frank Jenner a few years ago, but he is one of my heros and someone I can’t wait to meet in Heaven!

        Brother Geoffrey – ONLY “the Lord God Almighty” knows how many that ‘profess’ that they are ‘christians’ – but ARE NOT
        In “the word of God” there is very strong warning written:
        Ҧ Strive to enter in at the strait gate:
        for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in,
        – and shall not be able.
        When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us;
        – and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
        – But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are;
        – depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
        There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God,
        – and you yourselves thrust out.”
        (Luke 13:24-27, KJB)

        How few there are that take literally and eternally seriously the warning written unto the truly “converted” “Christians” by the Apostle Paul
        ~ is our Salvation Biblical ~ in accordance with that which is written in “the law of the LORD”
        – OR is it by what some man said?
        “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,
        not as in my presence only,
        but now much more in my absence,
        ~ work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
        For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
        Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
        ~ That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke,
        – in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,
        ~ among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”
        (Philippians 2:12-15, KJB)

        To me, the most important lesson and example of our ‘brother-in-Christ Jesus’ Frank Jenner, he showed that he was a true follower of “our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” by his faithfulness
        ~ with no fanfare, accolades, or applause by men!
        ~ AND it was not until two weeks before his ‘going home to Glory’ that he ever got any ‘feed back’ – but he had ‘kept on keeping on’ for the Glory of “the Lamb that was slain”, as the Moravian Missionaries used to say.
        You personally have been given “the talents”, “the gift of God” for Street Evangelism and handing out ‘tracts’
        ~ others have been given other “talents” with which they can Glorify “our Lord Jesus Christ”
        ~ may each and every one of us that are truly “born again” be faithful unto “Christ Jesus” so that we may hear from Him say:
        “Well done, thou good and faithful servant:
        thou hast been faithful over a few things,
        I will make thee ruler over many things:
        enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
        (Matthew 25:21, 23, KJB)
        .

          Amen, Bro. Nick.

  • Tusitala

    So many times the world seems overwhelming, the apostasy and evil, the power of the deceiver and the sense despair. We forget the battle is already won, death has been defeated, Satan’s darkness is drowned in the eternal Light of Jesus. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords is returning, we need to make ready, we are His bride and are to be witnessing, reaching out, loving one another, bringing in the sheaves, rejoicing. Thank You, dear Jesus, for this example of selfless, humble service to You.

    • Bro. Nick Nicholas

      Tusitala – Thanks be unto “the Lord God Almighty” for your discernment of the extremely evil times in which we are living – RIGHT NOW

      ~ AND for those few who truly are “born again” believers and followers of “our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” ~ we have the eternal blessed assurance that:
      “… If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
      And ye shall know the truth,
      and the truth shall make you free.”
      (John 8:31b-32, KJB)

      “The LORD is good,
      a strong hold in the day of trouble;
      and he knoweth them that trust in him.”
      (Nahum 1:7, KJB) – also Isaiah 26:3-4 | Habakkuk 3:18-19, KJV
      .

  • The “O.S.A.S” is an heresy and a false teaching, because the Bible clearly states that “in latter times some WILL DEPART FROM THE FAITH, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (1 Timothy 4:1 – NKJV). How can a non-believer depart from the faith? It seems obvious to me that only a believer can commit this sin. So there is the possibility for a believer to fall from Grace and lose the salvation. The Bible also says that “There is sin leading to death” (1 John 5:16 – NKJV) and ONLY the believers can commit this kind of sin.

    Even Lord Jesus Christ mentions this possibility:

    “EVERY BRANCH IN ME that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. ABIDE IN ME, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, HE IS CAST OUT as a branch and is WITHERED; and they gather them and throw them INTO THE FIRE, and they are BURNED.” (John 15:2-6 – NKJV)

    We are told to abide (remain) in Jesus, and when we do, we will produce much fruit. If we do not abide in Jesus, and therefore fail to bear fruit, then we can be removed from the vine (Jesus) and thrown into the fire to be burned.

    • Mike

      It was His will that you be saved, not of your own works but by the precious blood that He spilled. He is the one who saved and continues to save us until we are with Him, clothed in HIS Righteousness, bought by HIS blood, sealed with guarantee of HIS Holy Spirit. If it were a matter of merit badges to stay saved we would all be screwed, including you, my friend.

    • Actually, instead of it being a heresy, Eternal Security is actual a DOCTRINE given to us in the age of Grace, by the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul. Paul says in Ephesians that, at the moment of salvation, we are SEALED IN by the Holy Spirit so we can never fall out. Read it for yourself: “That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:12-14 (KJV). That’s why Paul goes on to say in Romans 8 that NOTHING can separate us from being in Jesus Christ. Nothing. You can’t even jump out or quit being a Christian. A Christian can go through a trial and quit the Church, and quit witnessing, quit everything and go back to the bars and the prostitutes – BUT – when they die they still go to Heaven because they are still saved. • Mike

        Exactly my point. Thank you, Geoffrey.

      • If it were true that you cannot fall from grace, then how you can explain all the warnings about the perseverance of the saints (cfr. Matthew 10:22; Revelation 2:10)?

        Also in the Scripture there are at least two clear examples of believers who have gone astray from the faith and have fallen from grace, the first is Judah, who was even chosen by Jesus Christ himself to be one of the twelve, in order to fulfill the prophecy on His account, as it is written: “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept , and none of them is lost , but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” (John 17:12 – KJV) and the second Demas, a companion of Paul during his first Roman imprisonment (Col. 4:14; Philem. 1:24), as it is written “For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. (2 Timothy 4:10 – KJV). Furthermore Jesus Christ mentioned in the parable of the sower, the fact that you can fall from grace, referring to the seed (the Word) that falls among thorns and rocks: “They on the rock are they, which, when they hear , receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which FOR A WHILE BELIEVE , and in time of temptation FALL AWAY. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard , go forth , and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and BRING NO FRUIT TO PERFECTION” (Luke 8:13-14 – KJV).

        Now after reading this parable is not yet clear that you can fall from grace if you do not persevere until the end? Just reading the verse thirteen you will understand the unequivocal teaching of our Lord about those who believed FOR A TIME, and then have fallen away from God’s grace.

        Also in the parable of the householder and the burglar Jesus Christ orders us to KEEP WATCHING: “And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord DELAYETH HIS COMING; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink , and to be drunken ; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder , and WILL APPOINT HIM HIS PORTION WITH THE UNBELIEVERS” (Luke 12: 42-46 – KJV).

        This is a perfect example made by the Master how a wise and faithful servant can receive the same punishment of the unbelievers, if he starts to behave in a way that is not pleasing the Lord, and then if you do not follow holiness as it is written, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14 – KJV).

        Undoubtedly, this servant represents those believers who have served the Lord for a time. But then what happened? This faithful servant has departed from the way of loyalty, reaping therefore death and eternal ruin.

        This words remind us the verse of Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith: but IF ANY MAN DRAW BACK , my soul shall have no pleasure in him” concept that has already existed under the Old Covenant: “But when the righteous TURNETH AWAY from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned : in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned , in them shall he die” (Ezekiel 18:24 – KJV).

        This shows that the servant of the parable was a believer, and that the righteous can turn away from his righteousness to its own destruction, falling away from God’s grace.

        Finally, in the book of Revelation Lord Jesus says that whoever wins will not have his name DELETED from the Book of Life, and He will confess his name before the Father and His angels (see Revelation 3:5). This means that there is the possibility for the elect (because only chosen people have their names written in the Book of Life) to have his name blotted out and in this regard I want to remind to all of you the words of Moses: “Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin-; and if not, BLOT ME, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written” (Exodus 32:32 – KJV), and how has the Lord answered? “Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I BLOT OUT FROM MY BOOK” (Exodus 32:33 – KJV) and which sin is it? It is the one that leads to death (see 1 John 5:16). So as you can see with your own eyes, there are also believers who won’t persevere untill the end, but draw back, and there will be more of them when will come the great apostasy (see 1 Timothy 4:1).

        I hope I have been clearer now.

        • First, you have to understand that in the New Testament, there are 3 groups of people God can be speaking to at any one given time. All the New Testament is not doctrinally applied to the Church. The 3 groups are as follows: 1). The Jews and Israel, 2). The Church, and 3). The Gentiles. Matthew, Mark and Luke were not written to the Church, they were written to Jews waiting for a King and Kingdom. Christians are not waiting for a King, we are waiting for The Bridegroom. We are not waiting for a Kingdom, we are waiting for the New Jerusalem. When Jesus knocked Saul off his horse in Acts 9 and he became Paul, that’s our apostle. He tells us three times in our epistles to “follow him”, and for good reason. Paul’s gospel is not the same as Peter’s gospel. Peter’s gospel is Acts 2:38, but Paul’s gospel is Ephesians 2:8,9, and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV). The Book of Hebrews was not written to the Christian Church as doctrine. So who was it written to? To the HEBREWS! Christians are not “spiritual Jews” and the Church does not replace Israel. The Book of Hebrews will have its full application during the time of the Great Tribulation. Paul says Christians can never lose their salvation, but the Book of Hebrews says you can.

          If you try to apply Matthew, Mark and Luke to the Christian Church as doctrine, you have huge problems. For example, do you honestly think you can do this? – “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:18 (KJV). NO, you cannot. In our dispensation no one can. Charismatic preachers die every year trying to handle deadly snakes, and no one can heal 100% of all those they lay hands on. But those verses from Mark says you can! So why can’t you do it? Because they were not written to Christians in the age of Grace. Those verses were written to the 144,000 who will be alive during the time of the Great Tribulation.

          Hope I gave you something to think about and pray over.

          • Mike

            Once again, spot on, sir.

          • edwitness

            Great stuff Geoffrey,
            There certainly are the 3 groups you mentioned being written to in the New Testament. This truth is central to good exegesis. There are others alluded to for instructional purposes as in 1st John, but John is only using them for instruction to the church. And to help them to reject the Gnostic heresies that were plaguing them. 1st John1:8; 2:19-26; 4:1-4 & 19-21; 5:10-12.

            In that 1stJohn is referencing idolatry (chapter5:21) when he says that when we are born again we can not sin, he makes it clear that one can not choose a false god after having chosen the true God.
            Therefore, “Once saved, always saved”. Chapter 3:9 says it like this; “Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for His seed remains in him: and HE CAN NOT SIN, because he is born of God”.

            There is no need for grammatical gymnastics to interpret this passage. We need to simply follow John’s reasoning when he speaks of sin here and elsewhere.
            And the best passage for this is John 16:9-11. In this passage we find Jesus defining for us what the “sin of the world” is that the Holy Spirit has come to reprove the world of. And that sin is “they believe not on Me”. vs.9. This is the sin that a Christian “can not sin”. 1st John3:9. And if a Christian can not worship idols, and therefore can only trust in the true God. Then he must not be able to lose his salvation.
            Thanks Geoffrey for another great post.
            Blessings:-}

          Good words Gianluca —you are right OSAS is a false doctrine. All the scriptures you listed are good… this is the age old discussion of Calvinism vs Arminianism.

    • Bro. Nick Nicholas

      Gianluca Colucci – Once again you come on this website and accuse my ‘brother-in-Christ Jesus’ Geoffrey Grider of publishing “heresy” and false teaching’ – WHY?

      You do not say ‘it is my understanding’ – You have personally made the choice to attack and contradict what he writes by making another one of your own definitive ‘statements of fact’.

      You and all others that make such statements of fact – in denial of sound Biblical Doctrine – should read and think deeply about that which the Apostle Paul very bluntly and plainly warned would become more and yet more common in these “latter times”:
      [1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
      [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
      [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers,
      FALSE ACCUSERS,
      incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
      [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
      [5] Having a form of godliness,
      – but denying the power thereof:
      – from such turn away.
      [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
      [7] Ever learning,
      – and never able to come to the knowledge of THE TRUTH.
      (2 Timothy, Chapter 2, KJB)

      Have you even considered the Old Testament example of Lot, a wondrous example of the Grace of “the LORD JEHOVAH” and ‘Once Saved, Always Saved’? Lot is mentioned 35 times in “the word of the LORD”, the Holy Bible, KJV – only 3 of then in the NT.
      Based upon my reading of that which “the only wise God” inspired to be written, I personally would never have thought of Lot as a “saved” man – BUT it is written:
      “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow,
      making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
      ~ And delivered just Lot,
      vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
      ~ (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,
      vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
      ~ The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations,
      and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:”
      (2 Peter 2:6-9, KJB)

      And what about King David who wrote in Psalm 51:1-17, KJV – after being confronted by the Prophet Nathan about his committing adultery with Bathsheba, and having her husband Uriah murdered:
      [1] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness:
      according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
      [2] Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
      [3] For I acknowledge my transgressions:
      and my sin is ever before me.
      [4] Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:
      that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
      [5] Behold, I was shapen in iniquity;
      and in sin did my mother conceive me.
      [6] Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
      [7] Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean:
      ~ wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
      [8] Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
      [9] Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
      [10] Create in me a clean heart, O God;
      and renew a right spirit within me.
      [11] Cast me not away from thy presence;
      and take not thy holy spirit from me
      [12] Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
      and uphold me with thy free spirit.
      [13] Then will I teach transgressors thy ways;
      and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
      [14] Deliver me from bloodguiltiness,
      ~ O God, thou God of my salvation:
      and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
      [15] O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
      [16] For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it:
      thou delightest not in burnt offering.
      ~ [17]The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:
      ~ a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

      I personally absolutely know the fact of the Biblical truth that the Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians, Chapter 2, KJV:
      ~ [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith;
      – and that not of yourselves:
      ~ it is the gift of God:
      – [9] Not of works,
      – lest any man should boast.
      [10] For we are his workmanship,
      created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
      which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

      ~ CAPITALization and emphasis of “the scripture of truth”, the Holy Bible, KJV – is mine – Bro. Nick

      • Mike

        Nailed it.

      • There are many examples in the Bible of believers who have gone astray, never heard about Judas and Demas? Then, why you mention Epheshians 2:8-10? I’m a fundamentalist Christian saved by grace thought faith alone, in Christ alone, so I believe in the salvation by grace, but it’s also true that you have to persevere until the end if you want to enter into God’rest. The Bible is very clear about the endurance of the saints. If the elect begin to live according to their sinful nature or commit the sin that lead to death (see John 5:16 ; Hebrews 6:4-7 ; 10:26-29 for details) they will lose the salvation and will not inherit the kingdom of God. Read this verse which proves that even the righteous can lose his salvation:

        “But MY RIGHTEOUS ONE will live by faith. And IF HE SHRINKS BACK, I will not be pleased with him. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.” (Hebrews 10:38-39 – NIV)

        ps: I hope you are not a KJV onlyst because they are a sect and a disgrace for the real Christianity. Nothing against the KJV but I think that reading it is not salvation pending, and it is not the perfect translation, just like the others version of the Bible’s translation.

          Gianluca Colucci – Sir, I will only address one (1) of your ‘personal statements of fact’
          You say about the the Holy Bible, KJV – ‘… and it is not the perfect translation,…’

          Do you know that the NIV (1984) removes 30,000+ words – totally ignoring the very strong warning to those that add to – OR take away from “the word of God”.
          [18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book,
          – If any man shall add unto these things,
          God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: – [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
          God shall take away his part out of the book of life,
          and out of the holy city,
          and from the things which are written in this book.”
          (‘The Revelation of Jesus Christ’, Chapter 22, KJB)
          Also – Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32 | Proverbs 30:5-6 | Ecclesiastes 3:14-15 | Galatians 3:15

          NO – I make no comment on which or how many of the 400+ other English ‘version(s)’ – ‘translation(s)’ – ‘paraphrase(s)’ others choose to use
          – that is a personal choice, and each and every person will have to answer to “the LORD JEHOVAH” for our choices.

          ———————————————-
          My personal choice is to simply believe that which “the Lord God Almighty” has written and innerently preserved in “the word of the LORD”, the Holy Bible, KJV
          YES – I personally only use the Holy Bible, KJV

          In “the scripture of truth”, “the law of God”, “the word of the LORD”, the Holy Bible, KJV ~ the following are written:

          “Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
          a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
          rightly dividing the word of truth.”
          (2 Timothy 2:15, KJB)

          “EVERY WORD of God is pure:
          he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
          – Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
          (Proverbs 30:5-6, KJB)

          “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass,
          one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
          (Matthew 5:18, KJB)

          “Sanctify them through THY TRUTH: THY WORD IS TRUTH.”
          (John 17:17, KJB)

          In Proverbs, Chapter 22 it is written:
          [17] Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise,
          and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
          [18] For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.
          [19] That thy trust may be in the LORD,
          I have made known to thee this day,
          even to thee.
          [20] Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
          [21] That I might make thee know the certainty of THE WORDS OF TRUTH;
          that thou mightest answer THE WORDS OF TRUTH to them that send unto thee?

          ~ CAPITALization and emphasis of “the words of the LORD” are mine – Bro. Nick

          Gianluca—you are right–once saved always saved is not biblical. As you said Gianluca many will depart from the faith…..we see it happening right now….on fire Christians in the 70-80’s are now preaching that you can be saved and be Gay.. OSAS, It is a false teaching—Geofrrey–thanks for all you do on this site & I appreciate you very much but the once saved always saved doctrine is not biblical—God will forgive you over & over again no matter what you do, this is true… and nothing can separate you from the love of God….but God loves all people even those in hell…..how does this happen…In 1John 3:9 tells us to ask for forgiveness often as we go through life….(unless you believe that once you’re saved you never sin again, which I know you know is false)….you lose your salvation when you turn away from daily or weekly or some time period of repentance and you adopt an attitude of I don’t need to be forgiven because I’m not doing anything wrong…I asked Jesus in my heart once, now I can do what ever I want …even engage in the sins of the flesh…..God will not save you against your will, if you turn away from the Lord and never repent or come back and your attitude is one of I don’t want to come back, then God will let you stay out of the kingdom (if you disown me, I will disown you). That is scriptural for all the reasons that Gianluca stated

      • david leonard

        Respect you Bro Nick ….but Gianluca is right OSAS is not a scriptural doctrine… it is a false teaching which has allowed multitudes to walk away from the Lord…their reasoning is they don’t need to repent anymore (1 John 3:9) because Jesus already forgave them of their sins past present & future. Which is true but you still need to ask God for repentance…Read Rev 1-3 Jesus was speaking to the church and told them to repent..all of the examples you gave are of people who repented and came back to the Lord….but God will not save you against your will…you always have a choice to remain steadfast or walk away.

        • Bro. Nick Nicholas

          David Leonard – My Biblical understanding is that just because someone says that they are a ‘christian’ does not mean that it is Biblically “the truth” – for there are many ‘professors’ ~ BUT few ‘possessors’ of Biblical Saving Faith
          ~ it is not the fault of “the truth” of the doctrine of ‘Once Saved – Always Saved’
          – it is the fault of how it is normally ‘preached and taught’ – for it is written in “the word of the LORD”:
          “¶ Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”
          (Luke 13:24, KJB)

          I am genuinely interested in knowing “the truth” of that which is written in “the word of the LORD”, the Holy Bible, KJV – and genuinely would appreciate you Biblical responses to the following questions,
          for – IF your understanding is correct, and that there is never any Biblical assurance of eternal Salvation – ‘Once Saved – Always Saved’ I need to know the Biblical answers to the following questions to know if I can ever have any assurance of Biblical Salvation?
          1} – is there any Biblically written list in “the scripture of truth” of what the sin/those sins are which will blot my name out of “the book of life”

          2} – and is there any Biblical hope that my name can ever be written in “the book of life” again, once it is blotted out?

          3} – or is it your understanding that I have to guess or hope – for I can never really know if my name is ever permenatly written in “the book of life” – that no one can ever really know that they have ever actually been “born again”, and adopted as a son by “the only wise God”?

          4} – If I am truly “born again” once, and I ‘lose my Salvation’ – am I also then ‘un-born’? Can I ever get ‘re-born’?

          5} – how many times can my name be blotted out of “the book of life” before it is permanent, and I have no hope of Biblical Salvation by Grace?

          6} – or is it your Biblical understanding that Christianity is like Mohammedanism – that only when I stand before the “great white throne” will I finally know whether or not ‘I made it’?

          7} – or is it your Biblical belief that I have to be ‘saved by my works’, fulfilling all of the sacraments, dogmas and doctrines – and that “Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus” which means: ‘Outside the {Roman Catholic} Church there is no salvation’?

          How can the following three scriptures written in “the scripture of truth”, “the word of the LORD” have any real meaning – if I do not/can not know if I am ever truly “born again”, and that I ‘may lose my Salvation’ at any time, for whatever ‘Biblical reason’ there may be?

          ~1) “The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble;
          and he knoweth them that trust in him.”
          (Nahum 1:7, KJB)

          ~2) “But what saith it?
          The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart:
          that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
          That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
          and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
          thou shalt be saved.
          ~ For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
          and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
          For the scripture saith,
          ~ Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”
          (Romans 10:8-11, KJB)

          ~3) “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
          for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
          to the Jew first,
          and also to the Greek.
          For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:
          as it is written,
          The just shall live by faith.”
          (Romans 1:16-17, KJB)

    • Ish

      Also…John 6:66 And they walked with him no more.

      Meaning they once did walk with him and no longer do. To me that means that yes by choice you can lose your salvation.

      • Bro. Nick Nicholas

        Ish – Instead of developing your belief from only one verse

        ~ things are Biblically much different when you read the full context:
        [66] ¶ From that time many of his disciples went back,
        and walked no more with him.
        [67] Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
        [68] Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
        thou hast the words of eternal life.
        [69] And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
        [70] Jesus answered them,
        Have not I chosen you twelve,
        and one of you is a devil?
        [71] He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon:
        for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.”
        (John 6:66-71, KJB)

        John, Verses 66 – AND – 70/71 are referring to those that were never saved {aka “tares”}. Judas Iscariot was never saved – yet he did miracles.
        Read ‘the parable of the wheat and the tares’ in Matthew 13:24-30 ~ AND the explanation of the parable by “Jesus Christ” in verses 36-43.

        The Apostle John also wrote about this occurring with others:
        “They went out from us,
        but they were not of us;
        for if they had been of us,
        they would no doubt have continued with us:
        but they went out,
        that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”
        (1 John 2: 19, KJB)

        There are many that think that they are ‘christians’ – BUT – “the Lord Jesus Christ” personally will say to many:
        [21] ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
        but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
        [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
        and in thy name have cast out devils?
        and in thy name done many wonderful works?
        [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
        depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
        (Matthew 7:21-21, KJB)
        .

        That was BEFORE the age of Grace, Ish.

        • Bro. Nick Nicholas

          Mike – Thank you for your comment.
          Truly – just exactly as it is written:

          “Iron sharpeneth iron;
          so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”
          (Proverbs 27:17, KJB)
          .

  • Donna R Brown

    I absolutely agree that at the time of our salvation our redemption is sealed by the Holy Spirit! I’d also like to add, however, that with that salvation comes a desire to serve Him, and the more we study the Word, the more we feel that live and the desire to reach others for Him!!

    • Yes, I agree! If someone is truly saved, they should certainly have some sort of a desire to go and witness to the lost and prodigal.

      • Mark

        That word “truly” sure adds a LOT to the confusion. How does one get “truly saved”? Whole new can of worms when being saved is phrased that-a-way. Every born again Christian is “truly saved”. Even backsliders, and we ALL are back sliders and not one can do “good” except Christ.

        • Becoming “truly” saved is not a prayer you pray, a feeling you have or anything else. Becoming saved is a TRANSACTION you make with the Lord. Not a “deal” or a “negotiation”, it is a TRANSACTION of your sins for His righteousness. A person is not saved by “asking Jesus into your heart”, or by praying the “sinners prayer”. When you come to the knowledge that you are LOST and headed for Hell because your sin debt is sending you there, and you ask the Lord to SAVE YOU on the AUTHORITY of His Own shed blood on Calvary, which is the only payment God will accept, then that’s salvation.

        • Bro. Nick Nicholas

          Mark – There are many folks that say – OR – have been told that they are ‘christians’
          – the following video should be very-very sobering and thought provoking to each and every person. The desire to confirm absolutely their own personal ‘Biblical Salvation’ – that they are truly “born again” –

          ‘Most Christians Are Going To Hell’ – TheEndTimesAreHere [12:11]
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjneUTGm8eY

          “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
          That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
          of things in heaven,
          and things in earth,
          and things under the earth;
          And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
          to the glory of God the Father.
          Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,
          not as in my presence only,
          but now much more in my absence,
          work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
          (Philippians 2:9-12, KJB)
          .

          • Mark

            Anything, and I mean ANYTHING that smells remotely like grace through Works rather than grace through FAITH is IMHO poison and dangerous “preaching”.

            I do not need convinced that we live in a young earth (6k years) That evolution is a lie, and that I AM saved because I asked Christ into my heart and life. I also slip and sin as does everyone. But I am a lot less sinful and less likely too than before. I also do not need further convincing that there is a pre-trib rapture.

            I do believe one can be saved, especially through a sinners prayer being read off the back of a pamphlet. In many places on this earth there is NOTHING else to go on. Wow, some on here sure want to condemn MOST of humanity to Hell. Glad God is in charge and not those types….whew.
            Ya’ll just hit my nerves with this stuff.
            Are you saved? Are you REALLY REALLY SAVED? ARE YOU SURE?!? Wow…

          • Bro. Nick Nicholas

            Mark – In reading the comments to the video – most people agree with you.

            My understanding is that the man who made the video ‘Most Christians Are Going To Hell’ is being a ‘Watchman on the Wall’ ~ using “the word of the LORD” to warn those that question “the truth” of “the word of the LORD”
            ~ telling “the truth” to those “few in number” who will listen.
            While the following was written to “the house of Israel”, my Biblical understanding is that it has application to ‘Biblical CHRISTians’ in these days of extreme spiritual peril:

            Ҧ So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel;
            ~ therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
            When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die;
            if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
            but his blood will I require at thine hand.
            ~ Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it;
            if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity;
            ~ but thou hast delivered thy soul.”
            (Ezek 33:7-9, KJB)
            .

    • Bro. Nick Nicholas

      AMEN

      For those who have truly been “born again”, and are followers of “our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”
      ~ we work BECAUSE we are saved by Grace through Faith, just as it is written in “the truth”, “the word of the LORD”:
      “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith,
      Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness:
      and he was called the Friend of God.
      Ye see then how that by works a man is justified,
      and not by faith only.
      Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works,
      when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
      For as the body without the spirit is dead,
      ~ so faith without works is dead also.”
      (James 2:23-26, KJB)

      ~ Emphasis of “the word of the LORD” is mine – Bro. Nick

    Pray for the young man, Enrique, I witnessed to yesterday. And I also spoke to him about the rapture. He broke down crying during our conversation. He is one step away from being homeless. I gave him all the cash I had & some bananas I had just bought. I invited him to breakfast but he said someone else had fed him-what honesty. He said he was Catholic but had stopped going to Catholic services & was now attending services at a Christian church. He said he noticed the differences in the services. I hope & pray that he will accept Jesus & that God will bless him with a home & a job. This morning I will go by the area & see if he needs a meal. I believe the Lord placed him in my path.

  • Bro. Nick Nicholas

    Alicia – I will try to remember Enrique by name. I have been praying for the Biblical Salvation of men, women, boys and girls – folks – in every country and territory all around the world – even though I do not know their names “the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy”, “the Lord God Almighty” DOES ! ! !

    I have personally found the little booklet ‘Praying Effectively for the Lost’ to be a real Biblically sound help – I’ve been using my copy as a guide in how I Pray for the Lost for a number of years now.
    It is downloadable in .pdf or to your kindle, or you can order ‘hard copy(s) – and it is available in English, Spanish, and 6 other languages.
    If you find it to be a help, if you think that it is appropriate, you can let them know that ‘Bro. Nick in Alabama’ gave you the info. I have been giving copies to those few who are really interested for a while now.

    ~1) There were 33 comments in nearly 3 days about this Biblically very important message
    ~ about Evangelizing lost folk ~ that there is Eternal Good News, that there is “the free gift” of Biblical Salvation through “our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” ! ! !

    -2} There were 90 comments in less than 1 day about the political decision of ‘The Supreme Court’ legalizing Sodomite ‘marriages’ in ‘Amerika’.

    What is most important to most that go to ‘church’?
    My ‘second Pastor’ says that the Biblical knowledge and understanding here in ‘Amerika’ is 35 miles wide, and 1/8 inch deep – and it’s getting shallower.

    “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:
    and if it first begin at us,
    what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
    And if the righteous scarcely be saved,
    where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
    Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.”
