Libya:Obama’s Malpractice

Why is Americas’ military being turned into the Red Cross by this administration? Last time I checked, Obama vowed NOT to get this nation into ‘’another’’ war. Many of us see Obama as a leopard that has changed his spots. I don’t. Obama is still the same as he was during his developmental years in […]

Hit! French Jets, US Missiles Hit Libya

French warplanes destroyed several Libyan military vehicles, including tanks, in eastern Libya today, French officials said, in the first show of force by an international coalition mobilizing to stop Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi’s attacks on opposition strongholds and enforce a U.N.-backed no-fly zone. As pro-Gadhafi forces battled towards the rebel stronghold of Benghazi, 20 French fighter jets flew over the region in an operation largely intended to be a show of force, the French Defense Ministry said. Earlier today, a fighter jet resembling a Libyan MiG 27 was shot down over the city, according to news reports from inside Libya.

Allied Planes Fly Over Libya; Gaddafi Hits Benghazi

Allied warplanes are stopping Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s forces attacking the rebel-held city of Benghazi, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Saturday.
Gaddafi’s troops on Saturday morning pushed into the outskirts of Benghazi, the second city of some 670,000 people, in an apparent attempt to pre-empt Western air strikes that came after a meeting of Western and Arab leaders in Paris. But as the meeting ended, Sarkozy announced that allied air forces had already gone into action.

Gaddafi – “We Are Coming For You, No Mercy!”

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has warned Libyan rebels in their stronghold of Benghazi that his forces will attack tonight and there would be no mercy for those who fight them. In a radio address, the Libyan leader told residents in the country’s second city that unarmed people have nothing to fear from the army, but every home will be searched. Col Gaddafi promised to pardon rebels there who surrender, saying his forces would not pursue those who drop their weapons and flee when government troops reach the city. But he said “for those who resist there will be no mercy or compassion” and vowed to also reclaim the rest of the opposition-held east of the country.

Gaddafi Prepares Rebel Counter-attack

Rebels awaited counter-attack by Muammar Gaddafi’s forces on Monday, after the Libyan leader defied calls for him to quit in the hardest-fought of the Arab world’s wave of uprisings so far. Rebels holding Zawiyah, only 50 km (30 miles) west of Tripoli, said about 2,000 troops loyal to Gaddafi had surrounded the city. Residents even in parts of the capital have thrown up barricades against government forces. A general in the east of the country, where Gaddafi’s power has evaporated, told Reuters his forces were ready to help rebels in the west. “Our brothers in Tripoli say: “We are fine so far, we do not need help’. If they ask for help we are ready to move,” said General Ahmed el-Gatrani, one of most senior figures in the mutinous army in Benghazi. Analysts say they expect rebels to eventually take the capital and kill or capture Gaddafi, but add that he has the firepower to foment chaos or civil war — a prospect he and his sons have warned of
