Atomic Scientists Advance Hands On Doomsday Clock To 3 Minutes To Midnight

"We find conditions to be so threatening that we are moving the hand two minutes closer. It is now three minutes to midnight,’ said Kennette Benedict, Executive Director of...

The Doomsday Atomic Clock was established by Manhattan Project scientists in 1947

“Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.” Amos 5:18 (KJV)

Interesting news found today on the website of  the Bulletin Of The Atomic Scientists:

We find conditions to be so threatening that we are moving the hand two minutes closer. It is now three minutes to midnight,’ said Kennette Benedict, Executive Director of BAS, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. She said that there was still time to act, but real steps needed to be taken soon in order to ‘avert catastrophe.’ source – BAS

But the bible declares that it is much closer than that. The bible says that we are living in the last days of human history right before the start of two world-changing events. The first event that will change the world is known as the Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ. The bible says it will go like this:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (KJV)

This will be a time of unbelievable rejoicing for those of us who are saved, and a time of overwhelming fear and confusion for those who will be left behind. The even which follows the Rapture is known in the bible as the ‘time of Jacob’s trouble’, or the Great Tribulation:

“Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:7 (KJV)

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Matthew 24:21 (KJV)

You see, this world will not be destroyed by any arms race or military buildup between nations. We have nothing to fear from atom bombs destroying our world, or anything else for that matter. God is in control, and man will not do anything to this planet that is not in full alignment with God’s plan for it. But the day is coming where the entire globe on which we live will be blown to pieces:

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:10-12 (KJV)

So in the meantime, if you have to sit up late at night worrying over something, worry about where you will go when you die. The bible says that for the blood-washed believer in Jesus, “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:” 2 Corinthians 5:6 (KJV). When we die, we go immediately to be with Jesus Christ. Not so for the unsaved.

When the unsaved person dies, they go to a literal, fiery, burning Hell from which there is no escape. Is that you? Are you usaved, are you unsure of where you will go if you were to die tonight? You don’t have to be.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)

The Lord Jesus Christ stands at the door and is knocking at your heart today. What will your answer be?

    January 21, I had a strange dream.

I had a dream of what I thought was northeast Scotland…
but the name “New South Wales” was on my mind when I woke up.

First thing after waking up… I look up “New South Wales” on
the internet. It is a region of Australia. Sydney is the capital.

In my dream there was a man. His first name was Gregory. I don’t
remember his last name. I never met him… but I knew of him.

In my dream, next thing I know I am visiting someone in a nearby
town [near where this Gregory was located.] There were lots of kids
in that part of the dream. But in my dream they were all strangers
    in a foreign country.

Then I woke up with the name New South Wales on my mind, although
that name wasn’t in the dream. I emailed a couple of people about
the dream because it was so odd.

Today, I had forgotten about that dream… until just an hour ago
after I had read about all the current trouble in jew/nwo paradise.
Almost by “accident”… I discovered there is a small island near
Sydney [New South Wales] Australia called Scotland Island.,_New_South_Wales

With all the current trouble in jew/nwo paradise… maybe that
is the last place on the planet irradiated… like the old movie,
    “On the Beach”

” Gregory” Peck was the star of that movie.

The “Gregory” in my dream ??

Most likely our next major environmental disaster will come from the 2nd major terrorist (Considering 9/11 having been the 1st.) attack using chemical, biological, dirty nuclear, suitcase nuke or a combination of these which will be approx. 1000 times greater than the 9/11/01 attack… And sponsored by Muslim terrorist.
Most likely 40 days later the 3rd major attack and most of us will not have to worry about any doomsday clock ever again; thanks to Russia, China and possibly one other nation which I would guess to be North Korea. Nuclear subs firing their missiles just a few miles off coast would only need 8 minutes more or less to reach most of their targets.
God has never allowed the destruction of a people or nation before first sending His warnings hoping that the hearts of the people might turn to Him and be saved.

    • Cyrus

God’s warnings of divine punishment for disobedience
      are all throughout the Bible.

How many Bibles have been printed the last 70 years…
how many Bible translations on the internet ??

      Consider yourself warned.

      • Richard Mann

So true. If you are looking for sky writing, or some really big show with a warning, you are missing it already. There are people all over the world who are teaching that the end of this age is coming on fast and the time to get saved, repent, what have you is now. There will be no additional warning. The signs are already all around and every where.

      • watchman48

I firmly agree about God’s warnings of judgment… But are you saying or claiming that I am in error? Please show me where as I haven’t seen it.

      • watchman48

I am still looking for the reply of why I am being warned.
I know my memory is not that great these days or at least that is what my wife tells me….
It has been a few days so I thought maybe you had just forgotten to get back with me….

  • first of all people need to understand what happens at the time of the rapture, look closely and your eyes will be opened if you do not lean to what someone has told you in the past. notice that when the lord returns, those who slept in Christ are brought back with him. (this is a very important key), we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the lord shall be caught up with them in the air. the graves are not going to be opened on this return, why would they?; those who already sleep in Christ come back with him. (remember; flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, so forget about your dead body coming out of the grave during the rapture. hear and understand.) remember the verse in the new testament when Jesus is talking about his return to his disciples, they asked him where (about the body) Jesus said; where the body is, there will the eagles be gathered together. there will be a small limited exchange in the middle east with a few nukes, don’t worry about a MAD situation this is not going to happen.

    • Cyrus

      1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

At Christ’s second coming, the dead in Christ rise first…
      then those who are alive.

The belief that people consciously live on after death is pagan
and contrary to what the Bible teaches.

Jesus Christ is the firstfruits of those who now sleep in death.
The dead are asleep. They have no clue what is happening on earth
and that is a blessing considering all the horrific abominations
      “Christians” today tolerate !!

      • April Carter

Cyrus, what you believe is the pagan concept. Nothing in the bible supports your false belief. Instead, we are told from Genesis to Revelation that we go straight to heaven or hell after death, and we consciously live on.The bible mentions heaven, which is also paradise, and hell, which is also the pit. In every case, we are told directly or indirectly that we spiritually live on in either place. You are willfully ignoring passage after passage just to believe garbage. The “sleep” mentioned in scripture pertains to the fact that we do not die like unbelievers. We do not feel death’s sting and the grave has no victory over us. Therefore, we sleep. Also, it pertains to the fact that we will be raptured and our bodies will be changed to immortal and incorruptible.

        • Cyrus

Over and over the Bible compares death to sleep.

Early Protestant reformers… including Martin Luther…
          also compared death to sleep.

Martin Luther said he will be in his tomb asleep
until Jesus knocks on his door to wake him up.
Luther said it might be a 1000 years later…
but for the sleeper it will seem but a moment.

        • mrh

          “and we consciously live on”

@April Carter: If you say so, then please explain the following? 😉

Job 17:13 KJV – If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

Job 21:32 KJV – Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.

Psa 6:5 KJV – For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Psa 89:48 KJV – What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

Ecc 9:10 KJV – Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Isa 38:18 KJV – For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

Jhn 12:17 KJV – The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.

P.S. Did Lazarus have a heavenly story to tell after his grave awakening? FYI heathen rise unto damnation, as they remain in flesh form to be burned post millennium. But what follows afterwards is the GWT, and the final death call is a cliff hanger 😉

Hint: Maybe you too need better spiritual insight, or learn to read scripture better? 😉

        • mrh

@April Carter: The very moment we die we awake to our whichever appointed resurrection (A, B), as the grave is; dark, silent, timeless. Do you not understand? That’s why Paul stated…

Phl 1:21-26 KJV – For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

P.S. Paul was not deluded about death as many today seem to be 😉

        • guest

          @ April judgment comes first

          • MRH; you seem to forget the rich man and the beggar, the rich man found himself in hell and the beggar found himself in Abraham’s bosom which is part of heaven. this also is in reply to guest. and MRH; the saints that were seen walking the streets after Christ arose, are not walking around today, they went to heaven. the reason it talks about the saints being seen in the streets after Jesus arose was to show from henceforth those who are saved and die (physically) go to heaven. thats why God brings them back with him.

    • Cyrus

Notice this verse in Jeremiah 7:33…

” And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven… ”

… dovetails with God’s great supper in Rev 19:17-18

” And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.”

This also dovetails with what Christ said about His second coming in Matthew 24:27-28…

” For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”

    • mrh

“those who already sleep in Christ come back with him”

If so, then where do the dead rise from? Heaven? You need to read biblical context, or maybe you lack spiritual insight? 😉

1Th 4:14-17 KJV – For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

P.S. All saints are changed at Christs coming, that includes those whom are dead or alive. The bible does not clarify matters, except that human beings can’t enter the heavenly realm (beyond earth). Not without protection gear/suits, and only temporarily can man survive the outer space vacuum. In fact the unprotected human body would instantly explode in the upper atmosphere where satellites reside.

Hint: The rapture equals eternal freedom from death, and the power of the four root elements of nature; earth, water, fire, air. Presently we are trapped by survival, as is common in all living creatures except the angels.

      • MRH; that is exactly what Gods word says; “God will bring back with him ” note; what happened after Jesus arose from the dead ! it states specifically; ” many of the Saints that slept (were in the Grave) were seen walking the streets. do you really think they went back into the grave to await their resurrection?

        • mrh

John: Those risen saints were as Lazurus, they awoke to natural life, so they would die again later. But scripture doesn’t detail their demise. Except to say..

Heb 9:27-28 KJV – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

As for the ‘bring back’ aspect.. Ecc 12:7 KJV – Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

When we die, our spirit returns unto God and our flesh decays back into the elements of earth, which we are formed of. Also what about those whom are cremated, and their ashes scattered into the wind or ocean? The living of course will simply be changed from wherever they are at the return time. Does this all not make sense?

P.S. We really don’t know the mystery of the resurrection yet 😉

          • MRH; what do you mean by; they awoke to natural life? they already died once ! after Christ arose those who were in the grave (sleeping) WERE RISEN and seen walking the streets. (were talking only of the saints of old that died prior to Christ) there is more then one resurrection. Jesus was the very first, then after he arose the saints that slept arose (not in their fleshly body but spiritual one. they would appear to look like there former self (body) but it is a spiritual one that has arose.

      • MRH

“then after he arose the saints that slept arose (not in their fleshly body but spiritual one. they would appear to look like there former self (body) but it is a spiritual one that has arose.”

John: Wherever does it state any such a thing? There are two basic types of resurrections (raising to life); natural (mortal), spiritual (immortal). The people that Jesus and the apostles woke up resumed natural life, else they would be living today as human angels among us. And to my knowledge, there is no evidence of immortal humans upon earth? Anyway, if you should meet those ancient risen saints someday please give me a holler, I’d love to chat with them as would science 😆

Also in regards to the terms; death, hell.. consider…

Lexicon :: Strong’s G2288 – thanatos (death) – the death of the body

Lexicon :: Strong’s G86 – hadēs (hell) – later use of this word: the grave, death, hell

P.S. Jesus used sleep as a death analogy, because similar, though not the same thing. When we sleep we dream in another world. But when the body is destroyed in death, so is the mind, and the five senses. The dead can’t; think, feel, see, hear, smell, taste, touch.. they can’t budge. In the future resurrection we are given new spiritual bodies, so that we can live again but as immortals this time. Comprende?

    • MRH

“MRH; you seem to forget the rich man and the beggar, the rich man found himself in hell and the beggar found himself in Abraham’s bosom which is part of heaven”

@John: If so, then explain below scriptures concerning the state of the dead? 💡

Job 14:13 KJV – O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

Job 17:13 KJV – If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

Job 21:13, 32 KJV – They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. … Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.

Psa 6:5 KJV – For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Psa 88:5 KJV – Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.

Psa 89:48 KJV – What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

Ecc 9:5, 10 KJV – For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. … Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Hint: The Rich Man and Lazurus episode is just another parable, as were ALL of Jesus’ public declares, as he tells the disciples in private.

      Lexicon :: Strong’s G3850 – parabolē (parable) – a parable: an earthly story with a heavenly meaning

Mat 13:3, 10, 13, 34-35 KJV – And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; … And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? … Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. … All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Now examine the language flavor and context in the below beginning excerpts from varied parables. True they don’t always state parable aspect, but scripture didn’t always note fact, as is quite evident below, plus varies with authors…

Luk 12:16, 41 KJV – And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: … Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

Luk 13:6 KJV – He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

Luk 14:16 KJV – Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

Luk 15:3, 11 KJV – And he spake this parable unto them, saying, … And he said, A certain man had two sons:

Luk 16:19-20, 30-31 KJV – There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, … And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Note: The last complex parable concerns Jesus’ coming resurrection, and was directed unto the Pharisees whom were deriding him. It’s not a literal description of heaven or hell. Only God knows the hidden secrets beyond 😉

Tip: Only an blind idiot takes the whole bible literally, especially concerning Jesus’ parables, and the varied prophecies. Therefore it’s your choice to dwell forever in Wonderland, or open your mind unto the true nature and context of scripture? 💡 😉

BTW Father Abraham is grave dead just like all the ancients. His bones are probably dust by now, though bones don’t always disintegrate unlike with flesh. Buried remains evidence of ancient bones; human, animal.

Anyway, to understand the parables ‘bosom’ metaphor, you need to also understand Abraham’s seed aspect, which is the holy kingdom as well. In the parable, Jesus’ was representing himself as Lazurus, whom he personally raised from death, unto resuming normal life. The Rich Man represented the doomed Pharisees, whom were trapped by their religious pride. How do I know all of this stuff? Because the Lord reveals varied mysteries unto me 🙂

Anyway, if you desire external contact, my email –

Ironically, 70 years ago this year,
the USA dropped two nuclear bombs
to usher in the Babylonian jew/nwo.

There will be a new heaven and new earth

New Jerusalem will come down from heaven.

In the Battle of Megiddo [609BC], righteous King Josiah
was mortally wounded. God had promised He would delay the
punishment of Israel until after King Josiah’s death.

Ironically, at the Battle of Megiddo [from which comes
the word, Armageddon] King Josiah died trying to prevent
Egypt from coming to the aid of Assyria against Babylon.

King Josiah’s death at Megiddo symbolized the beginning of
Jeremiah’s prophesied 70 years of Babylonian rule during which
Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed and Israelites enslaved.

Here we are today… 70 years from WW2.

    Breaking news

RIYADH (Reuters) – Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah died early on Friday
and his brother Salman became king, the royal court in the world’s top
oil exporter and birthplace of Islam said in a statement carried by state television.

King Salman has named his half-brother Muqrin as his crown prince and heir. ”

    • C. Mason

Actually April you are partly correct. Jesus’ second coming does not occur until after the tribulation. The rapture occurs before the tribulation when Jesus comes for his church. He technically doesn’t set foot on earth until after the tribulation when he sets foot on the Mount of Olives. He comes in the clouds, at the rapture, to take his own to Heaven, thus he comes in the clouds and then departs again with us.

  • There are several things the mainline churches have somehow forgotten. (1) God only forgives by the Blood of Jesus Christ. That was finished two-thousand years ago. Man forgives by a negotiated apology. (2) Since IT was finished at the cross, God is no longer forgiving sins. (3) All of mankind’s sin was forgiven at the cross, but only those who believe it are saved. (4) Thus, if you believe you can manage your sin account by getting forgiven by confession, by forgiving others to get forgiven, by begging or in any way negotiating your forgiveness with God, you are believing ANOTHER GOSPEL and ANOTHER JESUS. You must believe in the true Jesus Christ described in the Bible and what that true Jesus did on the cross. Anything short of that is idolatry.

” And ye, in putting them in heaven, hell and purgatory, destroy
the arguments wherewith Christ and Paul prove the resurrection. ”

      William Tyndale

The idea that people consciously live on in spirit form after death is pagan…
a pagan idea adopted and taught by the Roman Catholic Church [RCC.]

But the RCC had a problem… what happens to people who are inbetween heaven and hell… not good enough for heaven but not evil enough for hell… so the RCC invented purgatory. Then came the last straw… the RCC selling “indulgences” to get your loved ones out of purgatory !

Early Protestant reformers like Luther and Tyndale studied the Bible and knew the RCC was in error. Not only was there no purgatory… there was no conscious afterlife except via the resurrection of the dead.

The central belief in Christianity is the resurrection of the dead.

Jesus is the firstfruits of those who now sleep in death.

      Jesus’ resurrection assures Christians immortality.

As Paul said… without Christ’s resurrection there is no resurrection of the dead and no hope.

At Jesus’ second coming the dead in Christ will rise first.

This is the only afterlife the Bible teaches, immortality via resurrection.

      • Cyrus

As Tyndale said… not only does saying the dead
are in heaven, hell and purgatory, destroy the
arguments that Christ and Paul used to prove the
resurrection of the dead… but it also nullifies
the earnest hope and need for Christ’s second coming !!

Please read my two posts above to understand this post.

I have seen many Christians on the internet attack Islam…
but I have yet to see any of them justly attack Islam because
Islam totally rejects Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.

        Why is that ?

Could it be that most Christians themselves do not truly understand
the gravity of rejecting such fundamental Christian beliefs ??

It’s a matter of understanding sin as being the reason of influencing the life of the Righteous

          • Cyrus

The Biblical definition of sin is transgression of God’s Law.

            1 John 3:4

      • those who are in between are what we call ghosts, they are trapped in death until the judgement day. in revelations it speaks of the following; and death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. notice that it is speaking of two separate things. death (this is a place) hell, (another separate place) hell is not the worst place. the lake of fire is. if you take two stones and cast them into a lake you are not casting a single stone. take notice of the four horsemen also, there are actually five. and hell followed after him.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

  • Robert

4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the Lord your God.

  • The rapture is not biblical. The text your quote for substantiating the rapture is 1 Thess. 4:16 -18. This will not be a secret or a quite event. Everybody will know, the sound of a trumpet and the loud voice of the archangel and the dead in Christ will rise, then we which are alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the sky. That sounds to me like the second coming of Jesus. the rapture theory is that when the church of God is taken up to heaven, you will still have 7 years before the coming of the Lord – that sounds like date settting. I refute strongly the rapture, I rather proclaim the second coming of Jesus. Which is explained so nicely in John 14:1-3 Blessings. Brian Sterley

      Me too.

Notice that I never engage in the never-ending rapture debates here.

For me that would be like debating non-existent purgatory.

  • I could not answer on female castrations on the right page, could not open it…if Michelle is a woman, wonder if she has been castrated. That is a horrible practice.

I ignored that topic because there are much more important reasons for rejecting Islam… like the fact that Islam rejects the deity, cruxifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ !!

  • The duty of Christians, when Christ returns, is to teach the unsaved. Then anyone who calls on the name of Yeshua will be saved.

Do you think if a preacher’s car breaks down on his way to a revival meeting… that some poor lost soul might never get to heaven ?

If you do… we have totally opposite beliefs.

      Here is what I believe.

” And those whom He predestined He also called,
and those whom He called He also justified,
and those whom He justified He also glorified. ”

      Romans 8:30

  • The Apostle Paul said, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” 11 Cor 5:8

Paul is talking about his resurrection
into his new incorruptable, immortal body.

Read all of 1 Corinthians 15 where Paul
explains the resurrection in great detail.

      Verses 50-52

” Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall
all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the
last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ”

I have a wonderful drawing of Martin Luther
holding a Bible very protectively that was
given to me decades ago by my Lutheran pastor.

From my point of view Luther has been asleep
almost 500 years awaiting his resurrection
at the second coming of Christ. But as Luther
himself once said… for him his sleep will be
    but a moment in time.

  • Paul was talking about his soon coming death. He knew he was going to lay down his life sooner or later for his Lord. He said he was betwixt two decisions to go and be with the Lord or to stay and continue to benefit the saints. He wasn’t talking about the future resurrection. “For I am in a straight betwixt two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ; which is FAR BETTER!!! Never the less to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.” Phil 1:23-24 It’s very clear what he was saying! Physically he would be absent from the body and immediately present with the Lord which would be FAR BETTER. Don’t hold to soul sleep! It has no biblical basis!
