America - Meet Your Change

"I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people.

Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of
the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment
when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth.

This was the moment--this was the time--when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals." Barack Obama

The 'messiah is speaking'

"You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about.

That's a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking.

Brothers and sisters," Farrakhan said, "Barack Obama to me, is a herald of the Messiah. Barack Obama is like the trumpet that alerts you something new, something better is on the way."
Louis Farrakhan

A 'thrill up my leg' for Obama

"I have to tell you, you know, it's part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama's speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often. No, seriously.

It's a dramatic event. He speaks about America in a way that has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with the feeling we have about our country. And that is an objective assessment."
Chris Matthews, objective reporter for MSNBC

Obama's gonna pay my mortgage

"Obama's gonna pay my Mortgage and Gas for my car...I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car or paying my mortgage. He is going to help me"
Peggy Jones

Words to live by
" The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, G--damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. G--damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. G--damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."
Obama's spiritual leader, Jeremiah Wright

Today In Barack Obama's America

Since taking office, Barack Hussein Obama has indeed brought change to this country. This page will bring you daily highlights
of exactly what type of change he has brought. So ask yourself this - are we as a nation, with Obama as president, better,
richer, stronger or more respected? Is this the America that our parents left us? Or has it become something quite different.

"Once I built a railroad, I made it run, made it race against time. Once I built a railroad; now it's done.
Brother, can you spare a dime?"

Obama drops case against Muslim USS Cole bomber:
The Obama administration has shelved the planned prosecution of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged coordinator of the Oct. 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, according to a court filing. The decision at least temporarily scuttles what was supposed to be the signature trial of a major al-Qaeda figure under a reformed system of military commissions. And it comes practically on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the attack, which killed 17 sailors and wounded dozens when a boat packed with explosives ripped a hole in the side of the warship in the port of Aden. In a filing this week in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the Justice Department said that "no charges are either pending or contemplated with respect to al-Nashiri in the near future." source - Washignton Times

At what point do the American people rise up and say with one voice - ENOUGH! Obama openly mocks the bible, but gives speech after speech praising Islam. The only thing President Obama has ever done on a Sunday morning since he was elected is play golf. Church and worhsipping God is no where on his schedule. And now we have this latest bit of news to further confirm his alliegence with Muslims and Islam - he REFUSES to bring to justice the captured Islamic terrorist who orchestrated the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000.

All hail the first, post-American, Muslim President of the Unted States - Barack Hussein Obama.

Bennet Bombshell: Trillions in Debt, 'Nothing to Show for It: ' Michael Bennet, D-Colo,at a town hall meeting in Greeley last Saturday, Aug 21 said we had nothing to show for the debt incurred by the stimulus package and other expenditures calling the recession the worst since the Great Depression. Regarding spending during his time in office he said, "We have managed to acquire $13 trillion of debt on our balance sheet" and, "in my view we have nothing to show for it." Speaking of the debt, he said our debt almost equals the economy." source - National Review Online

Like a cat that poops in his own bed then no longer wants to sleep in it, Democrats like Michael Bennet are starting to be repulsed by the stench of their own, out-of-control spending policies. Well, Senator, now you know how the rest of America feels about what you and your Washington cronies have done to this country. Clean it up.

US funds restoration of global Islamic sites: WASHINGTON -- The good-will tour of the Middle East by the imam behind the proposed mosque near the site of the World Trade Center in New York is just part of the US government's efforts to reach out to the Muslim world.

This year, the Obama administration will spend nearly $6 million to restore 63 historic and cultural sites, including mosques and minarets, in 55 nations. Under a program established by Congress in 2001, the State Department will fund at least five projects in as many countries to the tune of $271,000. Those include the 16th century Grand Mosque in Tongxin, China, and the 18th century Golden Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan." source - JPost

Hey...am I missing something here?? Is it just me or is this country - America - turning into a Muslim nation at warp speed?

Top US General In Afghanistan Says Obama Is Aiding The Taliban: The top U.S. Marine general in Afghanistan said President Barack Obama's announced July 2011 deadline to start withdrawing troops from the country had given "sustenance" to the Taliban. "We know the president was talking to several audiences at the same time when he made his comments on July 2011," Gen. James Conway told reporters on Tuesday. "In some ways, we think right now it's probably giving our enemy sustenance. In fact, we've intercepted communications that say, 'Hey, you know, we only have to hold out for so long." source - Wall Street Journal

Tee-ing off nation, 1 Sunday at a time: EDGARTOWN - Another Sunday, another missed opportunity for President Obama to prove to America he's not a Muslim. But instead of attending church services at one of the dozens and dozens of quaint, island Christian churches yesterday morning, the commander in chief hit Our Lady of the Fairways, aka the Vineyard Golf Club, yet again, to play 18. Obama again teed off with Chicago pal Eric Whitaker and aide Marvin Nicholson.

Now you'd think, with polls showing that one in five Americans believe Obama is a Muslim - and with the furor over the president's flip-flops on the Ground Zero mosque - that his White House handlers might have orchestrated a nice little photo op of the first family doing a little vacation worshiping yesterday morning. Because, despite the administration's insistence that Barry is a Christian and that he prays daily, most Americans have noticed that Obama rarely attends church. That's a noticeable departure from previous presidents, such as George W. Bush and Clinton, who were on their knees every Sunday." source - Boston Herald

Only 2 people in New Jersey sign up for ObamaCare Plan: HACKENSACK, N.J. - Just two people in New Jersey will begin receiving coverage Monday under new plans created by federal health care reforms. NJ Protect plans are available to those who have been without insurance for at least six months and submit evidence of pre-existing health conditions.

The state will receive $141 million in federal subsidies to cover claims that exceed the premiums paid by the beneficiaries. Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey spokesman Tom Vincz expects more people will enroll in the coming weeks. Vincz says more than 600 applications were downloaded and 268 information kits were sent out following the program's announcement on Aug. 1. Two policies are available, with premiums ranging from $212 to $768 monthly, depending on age." source - My Fox NY

Combat brigades remain in Iraq under different name: As the final convoy of the Army's 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Lewis, Wash., entered Kuwait early Thursday, a different Stryker brigade remained in Iraq. Soldiers from the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Division are deployed in Iraq as members of an Advise and Assist Brigade, the Army's designation for brigades selected to conduct security force assistance. So while the "last full U.S. combat brigade" have left Iraq, just under 50,000 soldiers from specially trained heavy, infantry and Stryker brigades will stay, as well as two combat aviation brigades." source - Army Times

This is how Obama operates. He campaigned on a pledge to "end the war in Iraq", and the news last week was that the 'last combat batallion' was brought home, thus fulfilling his pledge. But no, the last combat batallion was not brought home. It was left in Iraq, and simply had it's named changed to " Advise and Assist Brigade". Seems that our president becomes more and more 'truth challenged' with each passing day.

Obama now blames poor job numbers on congressional inaction. Wait! His party runs Congress: The Congressional Budget Office says the 2010 federal deficit will be in excess of $1.3 trillion, as in $1,000,000,000,000+. (BTW, the next level we'll be talking about out of Washington is quadrillion, which has fifteen 0's.) Despite Vice President Joe Biden's April boast that administration stimulus spending would spur the economy to add a half-million jobs a month by now, initial unemployment claims jumped a half-million last week, the worst since last November, as national unemployment remains at 9.5% and the economy sheds 131,000 more jobs." source - LA Times

"Let's get real. The U.S. is bankrupt. Neither spending more nor taxing less will help the country pay its bills. What it can and must do is radically simplify its tax, health-care, retirement and financial systems, each of which is a complete mess. Last month, the International Monetary Fund released its annual review of U.S. economic policy. Its summary contained these bland words about U.S. fiscal policy: "Directors welcomed the authorities' commitment to fiscal stabilization, but noted that a larger than budgeted adjustment would be required to stabilize debt-to-GDP." But delve deeper, and you will find that the IMF has effectively pronounced the U.S. bankrupt. Section 6 of the July 2010 Selected Issues Paper says: "The U.S. fiscal gap associated with today's federal fiscal policy is huge for plausible discount rates." It adds that "closing the fiscal gap requires a permanent annual fiscal adjustment equal to about 14 percent of U.S. GDP." Bloomberg.com

As unemployment goes into double digits, Obama's take 6th vacation this year: "The Obama family will begin their sixth holiday of the year today, an 11-day sojourn in Martha's Vineyard, the island destination of the wealthy and well-connected American elite. President Barack Obama will be accompanied by his wife Michelle and daughters Malia, 12, and Sasha, nine, and are expected to stay at the historic Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark. Bill Burton, the deputy White House press secretary, said that the US president was "going to spend a little time recharging his batteries'at the Massachusetts island ahead of the November midterm elections. Mr Obama's holidays have been particularly scrutinised in the last year, as he has come under fire for his handling of the US economy as well as the Louisiana oil spill. A poll released this week found that only four in 10 approve of his handling of the economy. He was questioned last year for choosing to stay on the elitist Martha's Vineyard during a severe recession, while in July he was criticised for taking his family to Maine rather than visit the Gulf of Mexico coast line. He subsequently took his family to Florida last weekend." source - Telegraph UK

SHOCK POLL: 1 OUT 4 THINK OBAMA MUSLIM : " Opponents of the planned Islamic community center and mosque near Ground Zero in lower Manhattan have public opinion firmly in their corner. According to a new TIME poll, 61% of respondents oppose the construction of the Park51/Cordoba House project, compared with 26% who support it. More than 70% concur with the premise that proceeding with the plan would be an insult to the victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center. Opposition to the project appears to derive largely from the conviction that the proposed site of the project - just two blocks from Ground Zero, in a building that formerly housed a Burlington Coat Factory outlet - is so close to "hallowed ground," as President Obama put it.

I don't know who finds this 'shocking'...everyone we know figured this out quite some time ago

Yet the survey also revealed that many Americans harbor lingering animosity toward Muslims. Twenty-eight percent of voters do not believe Muslims should be eligible to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court. Nearly one-third of the country thinks adherents of Islam should be barred from running for President - a slightly higher percentage than the 24% who mistakenly believe the current occupant of the Oval Office is himself a Muslim. In all, just 47% of respondents believe Obama is a Christian; 24% declined to respond to the question or said they were unsure, and 5% believe he is neither Christian nor Muslim." source - Time

Lol, I like how Time says that 24% of Americans "mistakenly" believe that Obama is a Muslim. Does Time mean to imply that these people they asked didn't know their own thoughts?...that somehow they were "mistaken" as to their own opinion? How could they be "mistaken" as to their own opinion? Time exposes itself for the Liberal fraud that it truly is.

Rep. Pelosi calls for investigation of WTC mosque opposition: "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called for an investigation of those who are protesting the building of the Ground Zero Mosque on Tuesday. She told San Francisco's KCBS radio: AUDIO "There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded," she said.

"How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we've been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City." (h/t Kristinn) Calls to investigate the funding for those proposing the $100 million "Cordoba House" have fallen on deaf ears, though, as New York's Mayor Mike Bloomberg has described such an investigation as "un-American." source - Washington Times

Obama, the one-term president: "Honest to goodness, the man just does not get it. He might be forced to pull a Palin and resign before his first term is over. He could go off and write his memoirs and build his presidential library. (Both would be half-size, of course.) I am not saying Obama is not smart; he is as smart as a whip. I am just saying he does not understand what savvy first-term presidents need to understand: You have to stay on message, follow the polls, listen to your advisers (who are writing the message and taking the polls) and realize that when it comes to doing what is right versus doing what is expedient, you do what is expedient so that you can get reelected and do what is right in the second term. If at all possible. And it will help your legacy. And not endanger the election of others in your party. And not hurt the brand. Or upset people too much.

A recent CNN poll found that 68 percent of Americans do not want a mosque built close to ground zero. Which should mean: end of story. That's all she wrote. Let's move on to the next crisis. It appears, however, that at least on this occasion, Obama does not care what the polls say. And his political opponents have been quick to take advantage of it. Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, who is chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said on "Fox News Sunday" that Obama demonstrated how "Washington, the White House, the administration, the president himself seems to be disconnected from the mainstream of America. This is sort of the dichotomy that people sense, that they're being lectured to - not listened to - and I think that's the reason why a lot of people are very upset with Washington." source - Politco.com

Islamic leaders not abandoning Ground Zero mosque plans, says property owner: Reports the Islamic community will abandon plans to build a mosque near the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City were "completely incorrect," property owner Sharif El-Gamal said Monday. "We are committed to our plans of building Park51 to serve the community of lower Manhattan. Our mission is one of peace, understanding and tolerance," El-Gamal of Soho properties told Fox News Channel. Israel's English-language newspaper Haaretz Monday cited sources in New York as saying Muslim leaders were considering abandoning the controversial plan. Sources said it was thought abandoning the site was preferable to unleashing a wave of bitterness towards Muslims and that it would also show sensitivity to the families of the victims of the 9/11 attacks and American public generally. A lack of funding for the project was also quoted as a factor in the decision. Opponents, particularly conservatives, have called the proposed mosque near the site of the 2001 terror attacks an affront to those who died. But the plans do have the support of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and U.S. President Barack Obama." source - New York

US breast cancer drug decision 'marks start of death panels': America's health watchdog is considering revoking its approval of the drug Avastin for use on women with advanced breast cancer, leading to accusations that it will mark the start of 'death panel' drug rationing. Avastin, the world's best selling cancer drug, is primarily used to treat colon cancer and was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2008 for use on women with breast cancer that has spread. The FDA advisory panel has now voted 12-1 to drop the endorsement for breast cancer treatment.

The panel unusually cited "effectiveness" grounds for the decision. But it has been claimed that "cost effectiveness" was the real reason ahead of reforms in which the government will extend health insurance to the poorest. If the approval of the drug is revoked then US insurers would be likely to stop paying for Avastin. The Avastin recommendation led to revived allegations that President Barack Obama's overhaul of the US health care system would mean many would be denied treatments currently available. During the debate, those opposed to the reforms cited Britain's National Institute for Clinical Excellence, which decides whether new treatments should be made available on the NHS on the basis of cost effectiveness, as an example of the sort of drug rationing that amounted to a "death panel". David Vitter, the Republican Senator for Louisiana, said the FDA decision amounted to rationing health care. "I shudder at the thought of a government panel assigning a value to a day of a person's life," he said. "It is sickening to think that care would be withheld from a patient simply because their life is not deemed valuable enough. "I fear this is the beginning of a slippery slope leading to more and more rationing under the government takeover of health care that is being forced on the American people." source - Telegraph UK

US slips to number 11 on Newsweek's 'Best Country' rankings: With such a huge range of nations in the world, the question of whether there is a best place to live seems both simple and elusive. With that idea in mind, NEWSWEEK offers this list of best countries. Given that there are so many ways to measure achievement, we chose the five we felt were most important--health, economic dynamism (the openness of a country's economy and the breadth of the size of its corporate sector), education, political environment, and quality of life." source - Newsweek

Muslims rule in Detroit, rules changed to accomodate Ramadan: DEARBORN, Mich. -- A Michigan high school football team is holding preseason practices in the middle of the night to help its Muslim players practice both faith and football. The predominantly Muslim squad from Dearborn says the nocturnal regimen is a way for players to eat and drink while observing the holy month of daytime fasting known as Ramadan that started last week. The August heat also played a factor in Fordson High coach Fouad Zaban's proposal to reverse the clock for a week of two-a-day practices. Cutting practice wasn't an option at football-crazy Fordson, which is coming off a one-loss season and has won four state titles and three runner-up seasons since it was established in 1928. But nobody wanted to lessen the significance of Ramadan in the Detroit suburb widely known as the capital of Arab-America. The moonlight practice is tailored for Adnan Restum and fellow Muslim teammates." source - ESPN

President goes for a swim in the Gulf - or does he?: President Barack Obama wanted to convince America that the Gulf of Mexico remains open for business. But perhaps he didn't want the world to catch another glimpse of his hairless chest. So when he and his daughter, Sasha, took a dip in the sea off Florida this weekend, only the White House photographer was allowed to capture proceedings. The official picture was intended to provide evidence that the region's beaches are back to normal. Yet it soon emerged that the private beach on which it was taken, off Alligator Point in St Andrew Bay, north-west Florida, isn't technically in the gulf." source - The Independent UK

Barack Obama and his youngest daughter, Sasha, go for a swim at Alligator Point in Panama City Beach, Florida

For whatever else his faults are, Obama is obviously not stupid and is NOT getting near the Gulf where an obscene amount of dispersants were dumped into the water to get rid of the oil. The Gulf is a toxic cess pool that no one should be swimming in or eating out of.

Jobless millions signal death of the American dream for many: Even the criminals have fallen on hard times in America's poorest city as the long-term unemployed struggle to keep a grasp on normality. Richard Gaines is one of the best-known faces on Camden's Haddon Avenue. It is a rough-and-tumble street, lined with cheap businesses and boarded-up houses, and is prey to drug gangs. Gaines, 50, runs a barbershop, a hair salon and a fitness business. He works hard and is committed to his community. But Haddon Avenue is not an easy place to make a living in the best of times. And these are far from the best of times. Just how badly the great recession has struck this fragile New Jersey city, which is currently the poorest in America, was recently spelled out to Gaines.

In happier times - whatever that might mean for a city as destitute as Camden - local businesses on Haddon Avenue could at least rely on a bit of trade from those who made their money on the street. Young men bought flashy clothes and got sharp haircuts and always paid in cash. But no longer. The economy is now so bad in Camden that even the criminals are struggling and going short. "Even the guys who got money from illegal means really don't want to spend it," Gaines said. Such a development, though, is just a snapshot of the deep problems still hitting the wider American economy. Growth rates are stuttering and a recovery is struggling to take hold. It may even now be showing signs of going backwards again, as countries such as Germany start to power forward. Joblessness has taken hold in America, with the numbers of long-term unemployed reaching levels not seen since the Depression of the 1930s. The figures are frightening and illustrate a society that remains in deep trouble. The headline jobless figure of 9.5% is bad enough but does not begin to convey the problem as it fails to measure those who have stopped looking for work. Over the past three months alone more than a million Americans have fallen into that category: effectively giving up hope of finding a job and dropping out of the official statistics. Such cases now number some 5.9 million and their ranks are likely to grow as millions more find their jobless status becoming a permanent state of hopelessness. Surveys show that with each passing week on the dole their chances of finding a job get slimmer."

The stunning decline of Barack Obama: The last few weeks have been a nightmare for President Obama, in a summer of discontent in the United States which has deeply unsettled the ruling liberal elites, so much so that even the Left has begun to turn against the White House. While the anti-establishment Tea Party movement has gained significant ground and is now a rising and powerful political force to be reckoned with, many of the president's own supporters as well as independents are rapidly losing faith in Barack Obama, with open warfare breaking out between the White House and the left-wing of the Democratic Party. While conservatism in America grows stronger by the day, the forces of liberalism are growing increasingly weaker and divided.

1. The Obama presidency is out of touch with the American people
In a previous post I noted how the Obama presidency increasingly resembles a modern-day Ancien Regime, extravagant, decaying and out of touch with ordinary Americans. The First Lady's ill-conceived trip to Spain at a time of widespread economic hardship was symbolic of a White House that barely gives a second thought to public opinion on many issues, and frequently projects a distinctly elitist image. The "let them eat cake" approach didn't play well over two centuries ago, and it won't succeed today.
2. Most Americans don't have confidence in the president's leadership
This deficit of trust in Obama's leadership is central to his decline. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, "nearly six in ten voters say they lack faith in the president to make the right decisions for the country", and two thirds "say they are disillusioned with or angry about the way the federal government is working." The poll showed that a staggering 58 per cent of Americans say they do not have confidence in the president's decision-making, with just 42 per cent saying they do.
3. Obama fails to inspire
In contrast to the soaring rhetoric of his 2004 Convention speech in Boston which succeeded in impressing millions of television viewers at the time, America is no longer inspired by Barack Obama's flat, monotonous and often dull presidential speeches and statements delivered via teleprompter. From his extraordinarily uninspiring Afghanistan speech at West Point to his flat State of the Union address, President Obama has failed to touch the heart of America. Even Jimmy Carter was more moving.
4. The United States is drowning in debt
The Congressional Budget Office Long-Term Budget Outlook offers a frightening picture of the scale of America's national debt. Under its alternative fiscal scenario, the CBO projects that US debt could rise to 87 percent of GDP by 2020, 109 percent by 2025, and 185 percent in 2035. While much of Europe, led by Britain and Germany, are aggressively cutting their deficits, the Obama administration is actively growing America's debt, and has no plan in place to avert a looming Greek-style financial crisis.
10. Obama doesn't believe in American greatness
Barack Obama has made it clear that he doesn't believe in American exceptionalism, and has made apologising for his country into an art form. In a speech to the United Nations last September he stated that "no one nation can or should try to dominate another nation. No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed. No balance of power among nations will hold." It is difficult to see how a US president who holds these views and does not even accept America's greatness in history can actually lead the world's only superpower with force and conviction.

Obama closes curtain on transparency: President Obama has abolished the position in his White House dedicated to transparency and shunted those duties into the portfolio of a partisan ex-lobbyist who is openly antagonistic to the notion of disclosure by government and politicians. Obama transferred "ethics czar" Norm Eisen to the Czech Republic to serve as U.S. ambassador. Some of Eisen's duties will be handed to Domestic Policy Council member Steven Croley, but most of them, it appears, will shift over to the already-full docket of White House Counsel Bob Bauer." source - Washington Examiner

Students Silenced for Singing Anthem at Lincoln Memorial: Two months ago, at the same memorial, a group of students were confronted by a security guard for singing the national anthem. The students, members of the conservative Young America's Foundation, were told by U.S. Park Police that they were "were in violation of federal law and their impromptu performance constituted a demonstration in an area that must remain 'completely content neutral,'" reports FoxNews.com. "The area they were standing in and singing is an area that is restricted for this type of activity," said Sgt. David Schlosser.

"The United States Park Police is absolutely content-neutral when it comes to any sort of demonstrations in these areas. One of the students, Shawn Balcomb, said the singing was spontaneous, not planned, and was certainly not intended to be political. "We got maybe two lines in and a police officer came over and he was yelling," he told Fox News. "I was dumbfounded." Evan Gassman, a spokesman for the group, said, "I was taken aback. You wouldn't expect a display of national patriotism to be censored." At that point, he said, it had become political -- and the group kept singing as an act of civil disobedience."

Obama's big bailout dollars went overseas: WASHINGTON (AP) - The $700 billion U.S. bailout program launched in response to the global economic meltdown had a far greater impact overseas than other countries' financial rescue plans did on the U.S., according to a new report from a congressional watchdog. Billions of dollars in U.S. rescue funds wound up in big banks in France, Germany and other nations. That was probably inevitable because of the structure of the Treasury Department's program, the Congressional Oversight Panel says in a new report issued Thursday. The U.S. program aimed to stabilize the financial system by injecting money into as many banks as possible, including those with substantial operations overseas. Most other countries, by contrast, focused their efforts more narrowly on banks in their nations that usually lacked major U.S. operations. But the report says that if the U.S. had gotten more data on which foreign banks would benefit the most, the government might have been able to ask those countries to share some of the cost. "There were no data about where this money was going," panel chair Elizabeth Warren said in a conference call with reporters on Wednesday. "The American people have a right to know where the money went." source - My Way.com

KUHNER: President's socialist takeover must be stopped: This is not simply sleazy Chicago machine politics. It is the systematic breaking of the law - bribery, attempt to interfere (and manipulate) elections using taxpayer-funded jobs, influence peddling and abuse of power. The common misperception on the right is that Mr. Obama is another Jimmy Carter: an incompetent liberal whose presidency is being reduced to rubble under the onslaught of repeated failures. The very opposite, however, is true. He is the most consequential president in our lifetime, transforming America into something our Founding Fathers would find not only unrecognizable, but repugnant. Like all radical revolutionaries, he is consumed by the pursuit of power - attaining it, wielding it and maximizing it. Mr. Obama's fledgling thug state must be stopped. If Republicans win back Congress in November, they should - and likely will - launch formal investigations into this criminal, scandal-ridden administration. Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican and ranking member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has promised as much. Mr. Obama has betrayed the American people. Impeachment is the only answer. This usurper must fall."

Obama Effigy Replaced by Hillary and Bush: Operators of a Jersey Shore boardwalk game have removed a mannequin representing President Barack Obama. It has been replaced by effigies of former President George W. Bush and Hillary Clinton. "It's just to show we're not anti-Democrat or anti-Republican," Tommy Whalen told The Star-Ledger. He's the manager of Lucky Leo's where the "Walkin Charlie" game debuted this summer.

Caricatures of Saddam Hussein, left, and President Barack Obama are seen at a boardwalk game Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, in
Seaside Heights, N.J. The game in the town where the MTV reality show "Jersey Shore" is filmed features a caricature of Obama,
depicted with exaggerated ears and smile, as a moving target along with likenesses of Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden
and Michael Jackson, The Joker and other characters. (AP Photo/Mel Evans)

The game requires patrons to throw baseballs at plates held by the rotating caricatures. A plastic bag -- pink -- was placed over the Obama character's head after some people earlier this week said it was disrespectful to use the president's likeness. Whalen says a Secret Service agent visited the Seaside Heights concession on Wednesday and told him none of his employees had urged patrons to throw at or hurt Obama." NBC.com
