Did You Know That Matthew 24 Has All 6 Seals From Revelation 6 And In Order?

There is an astounding connection between what Jesus is teaching in Matthew 24 about the time of the Tribulation, and with what John sees in Revelation 6 about the same period of time.
matthew-24-4-horsemen-apocalypse-revelation-6-seals-bible-study-nteb

Matthew 24 is in perfect harmony with Revelation 6

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Matthew 24:3 (KJV)

The book of Revelation is one of the most awe-inspiring books in all the Bible, and it tells of things that “must shortly come to pass”. It talks about the Church age, the Rapture of the Church, the opening of the “sealed book” of prophecy, and in chapter 6 we see the start of the time of Jacob’s trouble. The Great Tribulation.

On our weekly Bible study radio show that we do for two hours every Sunday evening from 9:00 PM  – 11:00 PM EST, we looked in depth at chapter 6. Well, I studied for tonight’s show as I do with all the shows, but tonight was different because He gave me what I call a “live revelation” into what we were studying. That is to say that He led me to teach something that even I was learning for the first time. Isn’t the Holy Spirit amazing when He does stuff like that? Because what He showed me was not in my notes, nor in my memory banks. I had never stopped to connect them before, and in fact have never read any commentary on what I am about to show you. There is an astounding connection between what Jesus is teaching in Matthew 24 about the time of the Tribulation, and with what John sees in Revelation 6 about the same period of time.

Seal #1: The start of the time of Jacob’s trouble reveals the false messiah – Antichrist!

In Revelation 6, we see the start of the Tribulation which opens with the appearance of the Antichrist:

“And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Revelation 6:1,2 (KJV)

Now look what Jesus says is the first thing to happen in Matthew 24:

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:3-5 (KJV)

Wow, check that out, perfect harmony.

Seal #2: Wars and Rumors of War!

“And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.” Revelation 6:3,4 (KJV)

Just coincidentally, that’s also what Matthew says happens next:

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6 (KJV)

Seal #3: Famine and starvation

“And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5,6 (KJV)

And that’s what Matthew says happens next as well:

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:7,8 (KJV)

Seal #4: Death for the Name of Jesus

“And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” Revelation 6:7,8 (KJV)

Look what Jesus says next in Matthew:

“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” Matthew 24:9 (KJV)

Seal# 5: The souls under the altar

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:9,10 (KJV)

Matthew stays right even with Revelation:

“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:10-13 (KJV)

Seal #6: Earthquakes and other natural disasters

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” Revelation 6:12-17 (KJV)

What does Matthew say about that?

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:29,30 (KJV)

All the years that I have been reading and studying Matthew 24 and Revelation, and not until the Holy Spirit showed me tonight, did I ever connect that Matthew 24 contains all 6 Seals from Revelation chapter 6. And has them in the order they happen in Revelation. Amazing. This is also further proof of the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church because Paul, writing long after Matthew, introduced the doctrine of the Church Rapture as a “mystery” previously unknown. That means that Matthew could not have been talking about the Rapture of the Church. He didn’t know anything about it.

Understanding that Matthew 24 is actually giving us the first 6 Seal Judgements from Revelation 6 is a huge clue in helping to put events within a timeframe. Another piece of the puzzle now in place. Keep looking up, brethren, the Rapture is right around the corner!

“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7 (KJV)

Pretty awesome that teaching the Bible study tonight was also revealing and teaching you. Love seeing things like this happen. I am always learning!
    God bless you.
    MARANATHA!

    • Geoffrey Grider

Amen, thank you! I love when the Lord gives me stuff like this “on the fly”, always amazes me 🙂

  • Kellie May

I listened to this message, too, and had no idea Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 coincided so perfectly! The Spirit was moving tonight! Thank you so much for providing the link to this message, for next week I shall be ready for the next part of the 6th chapter. (I even ordered a book on the anti-christ.) I highly recommend your followers listen to this man of God. Do you know his name?

    • Geoffrey Grider

Amen, thanks so much for tuning in. And if you are asking who the Bible teacher on the radio show is…it’s me 🙂 So glad it’s a blessing to you!

  • Xen

    Bless you sir.
Indeed Jesus spoke of the end times as is written in Revelations. The connection is not too obvious and is only revealed by the Holy Spirit.
Our pastor also preached on this, and said that pestilence denotes outbreaks such as Ebola.
Only the date is unknown so it can be anytime. Today or in the next few years. I believe the remaining days are for us believers to stand together in love and to call out to seekers. Jesus wishes that none will be lost, including potential believers, even those of other faiths. Hope we don’t disappoint Him.

Rapture coming soon…be ye ready to go…………….UP! 🙂

Geoffrey, I am Praying every day for the Rapture to be soon. I am so sick and tired of this sinful perverted world. I Pray for the “Peace of Jerusalem” but I know there will be no peace until King JESUS returns.
I read all of your Articles every day. They bless me! Thank you for everything you do in the name of JESUS.

      • Elaine Perkins

I Pray that you are right. I Pray every day for the “Peace of Jerusalem”. I am tired of this perverted sinful world. Thank you for your Articles. They bless me and help to keep me going.

Are we in the time of Jacobs trouble?….or have some of the seals be open? Your opinion?

        • No, the time of jacob’s trouble cannot start until AFTER the Rapture of the Church.

  • Vinny

Geoffrey – Thank you for brining this article to the light of His. I just decided to save article for my next Men’s bible study when I lead, this will be brought up for discussion. Not just this article, you wrote couple of good article that I read and I couldn’t stop thanking God for using you to do a good work in Him! Again thanks God and thank you! For God’s glory and shalom brother Geo!

  • Mike S

Thank you. Most Christians are unaware of this link between Revelation 6 and the Olivet Discourse in Mark 13, Matthew 24, and Luke 21.

The next step is to understand that the Abomination of Desolation mentioned by Jesus refers to Jesus’ words to Daniel in Daniel 12:11 and not Daniel 9:27. This will show you when the seal judgments or “tribulation” period began.

The Daily sacrifice was removed in Daniel 1:1. Add 1290 years to this date (603 BC) and you arrive at 688 AD, the time when the Dome of the Rock was placed on the Temple Mount. Jesus told His followers to flee into the wilderness when they see it. Revelation 12:6 tells us they “fled” into the wilderness for 1260 days. Add 1260 to 688 and you arrive at 1948.

There is much more I could add but suffice it to say that the Lord gave us the “numerical prophecies” so we would have objective means with which to determine the truth. The “futurist” system is almost completely reliant on “subjective” means.

Ultimately, I believe the rapture will occur at the time of the sixth seal and this makes it “post-tribulational” and “pre-wrath” and imminent. A simple reading of Rev. 6 and 7 aligns with this thinking and with actual history since the 7th century.

My jaw dropped when I read this article today! This is amazing. The Lord encouraged you Geoffrey and I can hear it in your words.

  • Skywatcher

Geoffrey, did you happen to notice the word “oil” in Rev. 6: 6? OIL! What have most of the wars been over in recent decades? OIL! For heaven’s sake…don’t hurt the OIL! That was a good article. One of my pastors made that correlation many years ago, and it’s as true today as it was then! Keep up the great work!

    • “And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”

The second part of the verse “and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” have nothing to do with crude oil. Oil is the olive oil from the olive tree, and wine is the wine from the vineyard (see Mat.21:28). The voice in the midst of the four beasts in heaven says: do not hurt the people symbolically represented here by oil and wine. Like the fig tree… Some understand this as people preserved during the tribulation, but you won’t hear that kind of explanation from a pretriber…

      • Skywatcher

Ah…but Marc, you forget…some prophecies have dual fulfillment!

        • That’s true. I have read somewhere that a first fulfillment is sometime necessary to protect the life of the prophet, because it is written:

“But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.” (Deu 18:20)

But how can the people know if the prophecy is to fulfilled only near the end of time? That’s why some prophecies have more than one fulfillment, one near in time so that people can know that what the prophet is saying come from God and respect the prophet. So sad the prophets were killed anyway…

      • Kiwiwatcher

Marc – so true that the verse is totally unrelated to the crude oil.
In context this is only related to the purchase of foods. All four foods mentioned were consistent with a Mediterranean diet at the time, and still are.
At the time of writing, a day’s wages would purchase about eight days of wheat supply, so quite clearly – a days wages in the end days, will purchase a day’s ration of wheat – is a clear sign of disaster prices. What the verse shows is that some food crops will be devastated, while other crops will be unaffected. People may need a regular supply of wine…..for thy stomach’s sake.

        • SammiD

I was taught many years ago (and believe) that the oil and wine in these verses represents the Holy Spirit indwelling the people of Christ, that they were to be preserved, protected, not harmed.

          • Kiwiwatcher

Marc – your understanding as “people preserved during the tribulation” falls flat on its face according to Scripture. Rev 13:7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” Are you suggesting that heaven has bestowed a short sighted or a pathetic form of preservation?

The wine is unnecessary for me, but you are welcome to as much as you require as I shall be with my Saviour in heaven, having been removed. The pathway is so obvious. Therefore, I don’t have to microscopically examine this particular period of Revelation in an effort to ferret out anything which may slightly resemble any form of deliverance. There isn’t any. Cowering under an alter waiting for the end does not appear to be a load of fun – no matter how much window dressing is applied.

Hence, my suggestion that in a world of death, disease, economic restraints, spiritual delusions, environmental chaos leading to chaotic food prices (basic foods increase 800%) wine is likely to consumed in great quantities
as the latter day saints develop coping mechanisms. A very serious time indeed – definitely not a comedy show.

          • “I shall be with my Saviour in heaven, having been removed”.
Are you sure? Jews don’t read the new testament, atheists don’t read the Bible at all, and if the church were to be removed even before the first seal is opened, to what people has the book of revelation been written? Just for some left-behind people as a post-rapture wrath guide? What people then are asked to “Take heed that no man deceive you” (Mat 24:4 – Rev. first seal) ?

        • So we will all need to change our diet and drink wine?…maybe we must all be drunk to be able to endure the tribulation lol…

  • Cooleemee Edd

Thanks for the personal “Aha!” moment! It means a lot to me and I’ve shared your post with friends!

  • Geoffrey Grider

Thank you, brother, much appreciated! 🙂

Geoff, you missed another parallel: Mt. 24: 15, 16 correlate to Rev. 6: 15, 16 re: the mountains. I find it particularly interesting to note that in Rev. 6: 15, people from all classes and walks of life “hid themselves in the dens (bunkers) and in the rocks of the mountains (bunkers). In the past few years, many wealthy people have been building bunkers out of old missile silos, etc. Under most international airports in the USA, there are huge bunkers! The one that comes to mind presently, is the huge one under Denver International Airport. These can be seen on YouTube; very impressive and sad at the same time, that our world has come to this.

    • Pete

Hey Skywatcher, why does Jesus say this on His way to the cross:

Luke 23:28-30 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.

Obviously Jesus was speaking of a near fulfillment of these things. He spoke directly TO those women and said “weep for YOURSELVES AND YOUR CHILDREN.” Do you take the Bible “literally”?

  • laura

I LOVE listening to your shows. I’ve heard 3 now and look forward to the next one. I’m learning so much!! 🙂 Praise God thank you Jesus

    • Geoffrey Grider

I really appreciate that, thank you! 🙂

In the two passages, Revelation talks about men hiding in the mountains. Matthew does not seem to mention that. I have a question. Are all the preppers and savers we hear about wrong to do so? They also seem to feel we are mid or post trib rapture. I believe you said we are pre-trib rapture. This confuses me. How can so many believers have such widely differing opinions? Who is wrong? Who is right? Why? Thanks.

    • Geoffrey Grider

Thanks for writing! Let me start by saying that people come to different conclusions when they don’t “rightly divide” their Bibles as Paul commanded Timothy to do in 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV). When you see that there is a DIFFERENCE between God’s plan for national Israel and the Jews, and God’s plan for the Church. One does not replace the other, as some say, they are different and unique. Revelation talks about the people hiding in the rocks and caves because of the wrath of the Lamb because this is additional insight to what is mentioned in Matthew.

Please read this for more on the difference between the Rapture of the Church, one event, and the Great Tribulation, a second event.

      Hope it helps! 🙂

      • jojo

God bless you brother! So many lump israel and the church together……when the symbol of the cross and what it represents, gets lost in many believers hearts, verses on the rapture and the tribulation will be misunderstood. Jesus Christ is not a wife beater lol…..Hes not gonna let His bride be touched, and go through the most horrific time on this earth

        • “Hes not gonna let His bride be touched, and go through the most horrific time on this earth”
You are ignoring all the intense tribulations Christians have suffered during these last 2000 years…

          • Trish Jansen

But that isn’t a result of the Wrath of the Lamb. Its the result of Satan hating Christians and Jews.

          • “Its the result of Satan hating Christians and Jews”

As is the tribulation under the antichrist. The wrath of the Lamb (the vials of Revelation) comes after that only. So if we will have tribulations but are not appointed to the wrath of God, there is NO pretribulation rapture!

    • Hi, Susan,

There is so much confusion about the timing of the rapture, because people think of the “rapture” as a single event and fail to understand the subdivisions of the “rapture”:

In 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 there is important key word that is overlooked: “CHANGED”:

      1 Cor. 15:51-53
“Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be CHANGED, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be CHANGED. For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. ”

This word “CHANGED” is ignored by most people. Why? Because they assume that this word has no importance because of course we will be changed before entering in heaven.

Here is the big mistake. People think that we will vanish from earth and go to heaven, all in a sudden moment and then it’s finished with the “rapture”. But it cannot be this way. We are not cowards that will abandon the left behind people during the most horrible tribulation!

In 1 Corinthians 15:51-53: THERE ARE NO MENTIONS OF GOING TO HEAVEN HERE, only mention of a CHANGEMENT applied first for the resurrected dead people, then for those that are still alive.

Why it is written that we will be changed into imperishable immortal body? If we were to directly go to heaven, we all know that we will be changed, no need to write it, so why there is this statement that we have to be CHANGED? Because we have to accomplish something: walking with Jesus on earth after we are changed, and this change into immortal body is necessary for us to be “kept from the hour of temptation” while we will finish our work with Him here on earth, probably as witnesses and comforters to the remaining people during the most distressful time, for them to avoid taking the mark of the beast.

Rev 3:10 “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

Rev 3:4-5 “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall WALK WITH ME IN WHITE: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same SHALL BE CLOTHED IN WHITE RAIMENT; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”

Now these verses make sense: being CHANGED into immortal body wearing WHITE RAIMENT, like Jesus, we will be kept during the tribulation. Note that there is also no mention of going to heaven in these verses, but instead a mention of WALKING with Jesus while being kept during the tribulation.

Again, why this statement of being kept during the tribulation? If we all suddenly go to heaven for the eternity, we all know that when we are in heaven, there will no more be tribulations that can affect us. So “kept from the tribulation” means what it means: being kept from the tribulation here on earth. No mention of going to heaven here.

      Another verse:

Ps 91:7, 13-14 “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee… Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.”

Again, in this verse, we are protected, here on earth, there are no adder in heaven. So our change into immortal body here on earth is only a first phase of the whole event called the “rapture”.

HERE IS THE CAUSE OF ALL THIS GREAT NEVER-ENDING DEBATE ABOUT THE TIMING OF THE RAPTURE: A MAN-MADE ONE TIME EVENT “RAPTURE” THAT WILL NEVER BE FIT IN ALL VERSES OF THE BIBLE, WHATEVER IT’S TIMING.

But a rapture divided into sub-events will make us understand more Bible verses. For example:

Luke 17:7-8 “But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?”

We are the servants of the Lord. Most of Christians think that when Jesus comes back, they will directly go to heaven for the marriage of the lamb. That is wrong. According to these verses, before eating, we will have to serve the Lord first, and that will be done during the most critical time here on earth.

Deu 32:21 “They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.”

Jews are not yet jealous at the millions of Christians from thousands of denominations that said are saved, because most of them don’t accept Jesus as their Messiah. So what will cause them to be jealous? The view of the Christians walking on the earth with Jesus, on their resurrected body, protected during the tribulation.

      • Zamar46

WOW ! In all of my years as a Christian, (I’m 57….), and all of my years of study and reading, I NEVER considered this ! What A Fresh Revelation ! REALLY gonna have to pray on this one ! Thanks, Marc !

        • Mark

Unfortunately so do the majority of Christians 🙁 In fact I didn’t learn this until recent times, prior a pre-tribber. And I guess through help by the Spirit? In fact I knew next to nothing regarding prophecy in my early Christian times. In fact I didn’t get deeply involved with end time stuff until 911 got the ball rolling.

        • Don’t thank me, Zamar46, thank God ! All we have come from Him. Without Him we can do nothing…

        • Geoffrey Grider

Amen! So glad it was a blessing to you 🙂

      • Mark

Well once we are changed we are no longer subject to temptation and death. Which means we won’t need to survive; shelter, work, food, etc. Also I believe God will be using the resurrected ones during the tribulation. But in which way is yet unknown, as the bible doesn’t say. We will be mighty immortals upon the earth.

However it does indicate two stages in the return. The first stage occurs at the end of the first stage of the tribulation. The second stage occurs after the second stage of the tribulation. Unfortunately most folk fail to understand things.

Also Jesus didn’t depart at his resurrection. His rapture occurred after 40 days of preaching to the Jews. And although he ate and drank with them, it was only for show, not survival. To assure them he wasn’t a spirit, though he really was. Likewise our rapture occurs after our mystery work is done here. And we likewise become spirit beings (like the angels).

      • Mark

Marc, the rapture follows the resurrection. So both are single events but time divided. Unfortunately the majority fail to grasp this fact. However the Gospels clearly indicate things, also Paul. The hard books are Revelation and Daniel among others, because of the symbolism aspect.

      • Kiwiwatcher

Marc – with all due respect….that made no sense whatsoever. To conclude that not mentioning ‘going to heaven’ as a reason to suggest it must mean ‘walking with Jesus on earth’ is very unsound doctrine. If you draw strength on that reasoning, then you must support others who have an opposing view. Unless, further evidence within the same verses will lay claim of course.
The word “changed” should not have been mentioned as “because of course we will be changed before entering in heaven.” – Marc, you just answered any query. The word “changed” was utilized to show exactly THAT…..that one was going to heaven. That was and is the point.

Sorry I could not read any further as it appeared to include verses cherry-picked from all over the Bible. Not good. Bless you lots.

        • Mark

1Co 15:23-24 KJV – But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

1Co 15:49-53 KJV – And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

2Co 5:1-4 KJV – For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

Note: At Christs return we are immediately immortalized. Which means we will no longer be flesh beings subject unto sin and death. We will no longer be connected to the world. Our earthly bodies remain behind in whatever state we left them in. At the end we are raptured (kingdom delivered to God).

The bible doesn’t say anything in regards as to what our immortal tasks will be. But I suspect it will involve dealing with dark angels on their level. As Paul states.. “we shall judge angels” 🙂

1Co 6:2-3 KJV – Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

P.S. For us to be able to judge the world and dark angels, we would have to be immortalized first, else they would simply kill us off. Like they are already doing with persecutions and tribulations today, and tomorrow will be worse.

        • “Marc – with all due respect….that made no sense whatsoever. To conclude that not mentioning ‘going to heaven’ as a reason to suggest it must mean ‘walking with Jesus on earth’ is very unsound doctrine.”

          It is written:

Rev 3:4 “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall WALK WITH ME IN WHITE: for they are worthy.

That’s one of the promise to “him that overcometh”.

          Jesus also said that:

Mat 24:37 “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

And what happened the days of Noe?

Gen 5:22 “And Enoch WALKED WITH GOD after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters”.

It is very clear that during the endtime, a group of people that are worthy will walk with Jesus here on Earth.

It is important when we study the Bible that we remove from our mind all pre-conceived ideas to be able to see what it is written. It is impossible to read the Bible and see correctly while defending false concepts such as pretribulation rapture or OSAS. I can understand that removing from the mind preconceived ideas may be difficult for some people that have been brainwashed in a theology school or in a entertainment church, but people, especially now in our time, have to wake up, leave their Babylon entertainment Laodicea church, and go back to God.

          God bless you.

  • Kim Miller

Recently I have been working on Kay Arthur’s Prefept Upon Precept study on Revelation part 3 and I realized the same thing! As part of the study we made timelines for the following scriptures since they all have end time messages. It was really great being able to see how these all fit together.
    Rev. 12
    Rev. 11
    Rev. 6-16
    Rev. 13, 17, 19-21
    Daniel 7
    Daniel 9
    Daniel 12
    Matt. 24-25
    Luke 21
    2 Thess. 2
    Ezekiel 36-37

    God’s Word is amazing!

    • Geoffrey Grider

Yes it is, and EVERY bit of it points to a Pretribulation Rapture of the Church. 🙂 Thanks for writing!

  • james

I agree with everything but your statement about pretribulation. If you read the first four words in matthew 24:29. “Immediately after the tribulation”…
Pre is another word for before..not after. Christ says after so therefore there is no ways his return is before the tribulation. Now the better term would be pre wrath as the body isn’t appointed wrath..
    God bless

    • Geoffrey Grider

But you are making the assumption that the Church is in the Tribulation which it is not. Please read this:

OUR TOP 5 REASONS WHY MATTHEW 24 CANNOT BE TALKING ABOUT THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH: http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/our-top-5-reasons-why-matthew-24-cannot-be-talking-about-the-rapture-of-the-church/

    • You are right, james. We will be delivered out from the tribulation, before God’s wrath.

“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,” (1 Tes 5:9)

Too many people confuse tribulations with wrath of God.

      • Mark

Marc, the great tribulation includes the wrath. People misinterpret the Gospels and Revelation among others. We are saved the moment we obey the gospel message, but not perfected until the resurrection. However physical death holds no sway over us even now, except torment aspect. For the moment we die we awaken in our glorified bodies.

2Co 5:1, 6, 8 KJV – For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. … Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: … We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

    • Mark

james, consider the full verse 😉 Mat 24:29 KJV – Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

The tribulation (or Jacobs trouble) begins with the abomination (idol) placed in the third temple, and ends at the glorious return event. However the return/resurrection phase begins after “those days” (verses 24:27-28), and ends at the millennium. Verse 24:29 spells the END. Therefore the church is present during the END, but in glorified form (protected). And so why are we arguing over things? Also tribulation (any form) can only hurt or kill our flesh, it can’t touch our spirit seed. So in essence what’s to fear, a little pain or trouble? Are we such cowards? Also none of us are exempt from flesh issues; disasters, disease, etc?

  • Bravo! I have myself discovered the relation between Mat 24 and Rev 6 about 20 years ago. There are now a lot of websites about this subject.

Now concerning your “pretribulation rapture”, I suggest you to read the excellent book: “Revelation in history” by Daniel R. Wilhelm, so that you will understand that these seals in Rev 6 are all PAST history, and that there a re NO “pretribulation rapture”.

    • “Past history” you say? That would make you a Preterist then, which does not line up with the Bible at all. AD 70 did NOT fulfill the Day of the Lord.

      • I never said that AD 70 did fulfill the Day of the Lord. According to Daniel R. Wilhelm, the events in the book of revelation are spread from Christ first coming 2000 years ago to the time of eternity, and we are now near the end, not before the begining.

    • But Thank you, Geoffrey, to write this on your website. Most of Christians – and even pastors – today do not know this. But how can they now it if they only go to an entertainment church to hear a prosperity gospel and be entertained?

  • Carolyn Knight

But you stopped at verse thirty. In verse 31, following the line of succession of tribulation events, it says: And he shall send his angels with a great shout of a trumpet and they shall gather the elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to another. That describes the rapture and it comes after all the horrors of the events in Rev. 6 and Matt. 24.

    • Skywatcher

Carolyn Knight, your interpretation is not correct. One has to stop and consider who the “elect” are. They are the Jews who are saved during the Tribulation; some would also speculate they are both Jews and Gentile Christians who were saved during the G.T. The Church has already been taken out prior to this time. It sure didn’t take long to see this post turn into a rapture battle! 🙂

      • Geoffrey Grider

It always comes back to a battle about the Pretrib….

  • Skywatcher

People, PLEASE be courteous and address the person you’re responding to! It makes it easier to see who is rebutting whom or who is agreeing with whom…

  • Kiwiwatcher

Thank you brother Geoffrey for Sunday’s message showing Matthew 24 and the seals of Revelation 6. That was a moving experience Sir, and one to be treasured. The Holy Spirit was definitely in our midst.

So on a hunch – I investigated further…..to see what relationship they may have had. Goodness me…..I was quite astounded, so have to share. (please note; I am not a bible scholar by any means)

Jesus does not mind John being in his immediate space and the pair are best of friends.
    John 13:23-25
“Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?”

In recognition of their very good friendship -Jesus entrusts the care of his mother Mary to John, who then witnessed the death of Jesus.
    John 19:26-27
“Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.”

And when the empty tomb is discovered by Mary Magdalene, she runs to tell John and Peter. John is first to arrive at the tomb but Peter is first to enter. John 20:1-10

Then Jesus virtually alerted the disciples to the fact that John would live long enough to write the last book of the Bible. The book describing the last days of the Church, the last days of Israel and his Second Coming. John was the only apostle to live through the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. And he would tarry long enough to wrap it all up in the last book of the New Testament.

Here, some of the disciples had been out in a vessel fishing without a result until Jesus showed up and advised them to cast on the other side. Leaving the vessel, Peter and Jesus are walking ahead with John some distance back.

    John 21:20-23
“Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?
Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.”

    John 21:24
“This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.”

    Fantastic. Praise the Lord.

There are 3 raptures, one rapture at the start of the Tribulation (Rapture of the Bride- true Christian) and then the 144000 of Israel will be sealed to witness to the remainder of Humanity, the Rapture of the 144000 witnesses(the Man Child snatch to heaven 1260 days before the final rapture) and then Elijah and Enoch will return to witness in the last 3 1/2 years and finally the rapture of the remainder of God’s people at the end of the Tribulation which will be followed by the wrath/destruction of the Earth by the Antichrist and natural disasters. After about a year Christ will return with those taken out to a restored Earth for the 1000 year rule of Christ.

  • Paul Price

Nice work but I do not see a pre tribulation rapture it happens at the 6th seal

  • Amber Baker

I’m thankful for the Rapture debates. I’ve been a Pre-Trib believer my whole life, but have recently read/heard a lot of other views. It’s good to see other perspectives and to seek the Lord of the Truth!! Maranatha!

  • Kin Makandiramba

That was taught by William Marrion Branham in 1963 in the message The Revelation of The Seven Seals. When he was preaching the sixth seal 23 March 1963 at the Branham Tabernacle in Jeffersonville, Indiana, U.S.A. l quote “412-1 / 146 Now, notice, for the Sixth Seal is the judgment Seal of the Word. Now, here, let’s start out now and let’s read Saint Matthew the 24th chapter. Now, I’d just like to give you something here I’ve just looked up to find. Now, Saint Matthew from 1 to 3, well, is where we’re going to read first.
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the building of the temple.
And He said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be one–be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
(Now)… and… (3rd verse)… as he set upon… mount… Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when these things shall be?… what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

412-2 / 148 Now, let’s stop there. These three verses, it took place actually on Tuesday afternoon, April the 4th, AD 30. And the first two verses took place on the afternoon of the–of April the 4th, at AD 30, and the 3rd verse taken place on Tuesday evening of the same day. See?
They come to the temple, and they asked Him these things: “What about this and what about this? Look at this great temple; isn’t it wonderful?”
He said, “There won’t be one stone left on another one.”
Then He went up on the mountain and set down. See? That there–there He starts it’s in the afternoon. And then when they ………………………………………………………….”

I just want to make a couple of clarifications regarding the four horses:

White Horse: This is Catholicism. The Pope is going to be the False Prophet rather than the Anti-Christ as you listed. Notice the color of the Pope’s garment, his vehicle and his helicopter. They are all white.
Red Horse: This is communism. Communism’s color has always been depicted as red.
Black Horse: This is capitalism. The reference to a measure of wheat for a penny, etc. is referring to the stock market.
Green Horse: Only until recently did someone discover that the original Orthodox Jewish Bible said a greenish pale horse. The translators obviously removed the word “greenish” because there isn’t such a thing. However, in prophesy, it’s very important because it stands for Islamism. Look at their flag, the gates to their buildings, etc. Also, their weapon of choice is a sword.

Regarding the church being raptured before the Great Tribulation, how I wish that were so. However, there are numerous scriptures that tell otherwise. I believed in pre-trib for about fifty years until my brother read Revelation 20:1-6 to me: 1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were BEHEADED FOR THE WITNESS OF JESUS, AND FOR THE WORD OF GOD, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, NEITHER HAD RECEIVED HIS MARK UPON THEIR FOREHEADS, OR IN THEIR HANDS; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the FIRST RESURRECTION.
6 Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him a thousand years.

There is only going to be one FIRST RESURRECTION. If the church is going to be raptured before the FIRST RESURRECTION, what resurrections is it going to be? The PRE-FIRST RESURRECTION? There hasn’t been a MARK OF THE BEAST yet either. I don’t know of anywhere in history where a person wasn’t able to buy or sell unless they took a mark in either their right hand or forehead. Have you? This scripture tells us that Jesus isn’t coming back until Satan has done his work: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-9 – 1Now we beseech you, brethren, by THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND BY OUR GATHERING TOGETHER UNTO HIM,
2 That you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for THAT DAY WILL NOT COME, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
5 Remember you not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now you know what withholds that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now lets will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 AND THEN WILL THAT WICKED BE REVEALED, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth, and WILL DESTROY WITH THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS COMING:
9 EVEN HIM, whose coming is AFTER the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

I’m so tired of people saying that God’s not going to beat up his bride as an excuse to believe in pre-trib. Were the apostles and all of the Christians from the early church not part of the bride? Huge numbers of them were killed by being burned, thrown to the lions, stretched on racks, crucified, beheaded, etc. How about all of the Christians down through history and those currently being killed? Are they not part of the bride? Shame on you for thinking you’re better than all of those Christians. None of us deserve to escape the GT anymore than the HELL they went through and are currently going through!!!!!
Regarding who the elect is, you need to read this scripture: Romans 11:7 – 7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the ELECT have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Now go down to this scripture to find out who the ELECT are: Romans 11:11 – 11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the GENTILES. The Gentiles didn’t hear the gospel until about ten years after the Day of Pentecost when the gospel was first preached. Imagine how many Jews did accept Jesus as their Messiah before that time–thousands and thousands. There were over 3,000 the very first day on the Day of Pentecost when the gospel was preached for the first time and 5,000 the next day. Since the Bible tells us that God puts no difference between the Gentiles and the Jews when it comes to salvation, all of us are the elect that are saved and ready when Jesus comes for us.

Regarding the two witnesses, the Bible says that man is appointed ONCE to die and, after that, the JUDGMENT. Though Enoch and Elijah didn’t die but were taken straight to heaven, they would have had to been changed into immortal beings in order to live there. The Bible tells us our bodies will be changed from mortal to immortal. Do you expect God to then change them back into mortal men in order to be the two witnesses? No, I do not believe that’s going to happen. Just like people like to say that Elijah came back as John the Baptist, there is no such thing as reincarnation. Again, we’re appointed ONCE to die. It’s just that John the Baptism had the same spirit and mannerisms of Elijah. The two witnesses are going to be like those individuals as well, and they will be Jews because it says they are the two olive trees. It’s when these two witnesses are killed (which you can only do if you are human), lay in the streets for three and a half days, come back to life and then are called up to meet with Jesus in the clouds that the elect will go up as well. The Jews for the most part that will be killed and persecuted before and during the Battle of Armageddon are those that haven’t accepted Jesus as their Messiah yet. There are Jews who are part of the bride that are persecuted just because they’re Jews, which is ridiculous. However, it’s ridiculous that we’re persecuted for believing in Jesus too. It’s just all the devil and his evil works.

Notice in these scriptures where it says, IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION, the son of man will appear in the clouds. Jesus isn’t coming back in the clouds for his church more than once! Also notice that, each time, the sun is darkened, the moon won’t give its light, there will be lightening, thunder, etc.

Matthew 24:29-31: 29 IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION OF THOSE DAYS shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN THE CLOUDS of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And HE SHALL SEND HIS ANGELS WITH A GREAT SOUND OF A TRUMPET, AND THEY SHALL GATHER TOGETHER HIS ELECT FROM THE FOUR WINDS, FROM ONE END OF HEAVEN TO THE OTHER.

Mark 13:24-27: 24 But in those days, AFTER THAT TRIBULATION, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the SON OF MAN COMING IN THE CLOUDS with great power and glory.
27 And then SHALL HE SEND HIS ANGELS, AND SHALL GATHER TOGETHER HIS ELECT FROM THE FOUR WINDS, FROM THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH TO THE UTTERMOST PART OF HEAVEN.

Luke 21:24-28: 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
    25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

    • Your take on who the four horsemen are is 100% not in line with the bible. Those sound like the teachings of Irwin Baxter, who is not a Bible believer. A Bible believer believes that the 4 horsemen are:

      1). The Antichrist
      2). War
      3). Famine
      4). Death and Hell.

That is what the Bible says they are….believe it, or not.

      • 1) The first horseman of Revelation is “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Mat 24:4-5)

The devil is not fool, he knows that it is impossible for a man that says “I am Christ” to cause a great number of elects to be seduced.

“MANY shall come in my name”. These are rather the wolfs in sheep’s clothing, the falses pastors in our endtime Laodicean entertainment churches, that promote man-made peace and prosperity gospels.
These pastors actually say that Jesus – “I”, Jesus speaking of Himself in Mat 24:4-5 – is the Christ and there are deceiving people with their watered-down prosperty gospels in their rock music entertainment churches. This si NOT a future event, this is already happening for a while now!

        2), 3), and 4) are correct.

      • Trober

Not all Bible believers believe those four.

The Bible does not say the white horseman is the anti-Christ, Geoffrey. It DOES say that horse proceeds from the throne of God. NO WAY the anti-Christ proceeds from that origin.

The word for “bow” is toxon. It could be a weapon. However, it could mean “award”.

There’s more that could be said of the other horsemen along the same light:

Red – God’s Word wasn’t made available to laymen, en masse, until the 1798 papal incarceration. About that time, the New World took off and something even more important: The Protestant Reformation. The Word —–IS—– a sword that has caused MANY deaths…and many more to come.

And, the same could be said for the last two. But, posts should be no longer than this one already is.

        • The horses appear on Earth not in Heaven:

“And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Revelation 6:1,2 (KJV)

If the rider on the White Horse is not Antichrist, and you make Him Jesus Christ, then you have God fighting against Himself and killing HIS OWN SAINTS. Perhaps you didn’t read all the way down to verse 10 where it shows what happens AFTER the 4 horsemen are revealed. His saints are killed:

“And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:10 (KJV)

You might want to revise your position.

  • THOMAS YAKUBIK

DID YOU NOTICE IN MATTHEW 24 THAT THE ANGELS OF GOD CATCH UP(RAPTURE) HIS ELECT FROM FOUR WINDS OF HEAVEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION OF THOSE DAYS?.DID YOU NOTICE THE JEWS WENT THROUGH A GREAT TRIBULATION OF 7 YEARS FIGHTING THE ROMANS 66 A.D. TO 73 A.D. AND WHEN THE CHRISTIAN JEWS SAW THE ROMAN ARMY COMPASS JERUSALEM,THEY ESCAPED TO THE HILLS JUST LIKE JESUS SAID TO DO?DID YOU NOTICE THAT EMPEROR HADRIAN WAS BUILDING A TEMPLE TO JUPITER ON THE TEMPLE SITE?132 A.D.?DID YOU NOTICE THAT THE JEWS WERE FORCED TO SERVE THE FALSE MESSIAH SIMON BAR KOCHBA FOR 3 1/2 YEARS OF GREAT TRIBULATION 132 A.D. TO 135 A.D. AND TO FIGHT ROME FOR THE FINAL TIME?DID YOU NOTICE THE BLOOD FLOWED UP TO THE BRIDLES ON THE HORSES DURING THIS WAR?DID YOU NOTICE THAT THE NATION OF ISRAEL THEN CEASED TO EXIST IN 135 A.D..?DID YOU NOTICE THE 70TH WEEK OF YEARS ENDED 37 A.D. AND THAT THE MESSIAH WAS CUT OFF(DIED) IN THE MIDST OF THE 70TH WEEK?THAT JESUS CONFIRMED THE ‘COVENANT’ OF THE NEW TESTAMENT WITH MANY(ALL OF US)?THAT JESUS CAUSED THE DAILY SACRIFICE TO END(VEIL OF TEMPLE WAS TORN IN TWO IN ALL 4 GOSPELS).

    • OUR TOP 5 REASONS WHY MATTHEW 24 CANNOT BE TALKING ABOUT THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH: http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/our-top-5-reasons-why-matthew-24-cannot-be-talking-about-the-rapture-of-the-church/

      • I don’t agree with what is written in that articles.
If the church is “raptured” before a 7 years tribulation, I don’t think that the jews (and other people) having seen it happen will then build a temple for animal sacrifices and receive as their messias someone coming in his own name as Jesus said.

        It is written:

“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.” (Rom 11:25-27)

In other words, once the “rapture” happens it is impossible for left-behind people to be deceived, knowing what happened. But I have seen on some websites that there are people that are fool enough to believe that people left behind will believe that the “rapture” will have been done by aliens coming in UFOs… It is astonishing to see what people can do, and at what degree the Bible can be distorted, to defend a non-sense “pretribulation rapture”.

        • Trober

“Israel” in Rom 11:25-27 is not a physical lineage. Refer to Rom 9:6-8. And, more, but that’s about as explicit as it gets.

“Israel” in end times references is NOT the political state of Israel today. Today’s political state is largely Judah, the Jews. (Furthermore, ONLY Judah and his descendents were Judah. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were/are not Jews. Nor were the other tribes in Ancient Israel.

“All Israel shall be saved” are those reckoned as children of promise, the New Covenant, aka Christians in relationship to Jesus Christ. Everyone in relationship to Jesus Christ via the New Covenant WILL BE SAVED. NO ONE per physical lineage —nor relying on any other covenant— will be saved.

      • Trober

        Geoffrey,

how do you reconcile scripturally that any physical nation or lineage is God’s “elect”?

        e.g.

“But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: “THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED.” That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants”

and more with the explicit context there is no physical lineage elect. In fact, more than verses, entire trans-testament themes on that very topic.

Even the birthright covenant to Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, were half Egyptian!

        And, so many more.

By the time we get to Jesus and the Pharisees, don’t you think it’s clear where God stands per those claiming physical election?

NOTE: today’s political state of Israel is not “Israel” in end times prophecy. Today’s political state is “Judah”, biblically.

    • Thomas Yakubib,

Sometime a prophecy have dual fullfilment, but I don’t believe that a future war against Israel will be done with people riding horses.

Maybe there are people that think that “blood came out even unto the horse bridles” means something like “blood came out even unto the canons of the tanks”. In fact, there are people that say that “burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years” in jeremy 39:9 means burning the remaining fuel from these tanks.
In the other side, there are people that believe that EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulses) will destruct all electronic equipments and paralyse all vehicles (as if the tank were not electromagnetically shielded) so the war will be done with horses…

So which one is true: horses or tanks?

Some people are rather willing to pass for a fool, than willing to drop their pretribulation view !…

      • Well, that’s an easy one to answer. When Revelation 14:20 (KJV)says: “And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.” as Bible believers we know it means horse bridles, it doesn’t mean tanks. The locusts that come up out of the pit are not “Apache Attack helicopters” or any other such nonsense. Revelation is an easy book to understand, but for most “scholars” it’s a very hard book to BELIEVE.

        • “And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.” Rev 9:16

Two hundred thousand thousand horses? 200 000 000? Where will that army find them? According to a 2006 report, there are only 58 millions horses in the whole world. They need 3 times more horses just for themselves…

In the book of Revelation, there are horses everywhere:

          Rev 6 (4 first seals);
          Rev 9 (fifth trumpet);
          14:20 (harvest of the earth);
          18:13 (one of Babylon merchandise);
          19;11 (KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS);
          19:14 (And the armies which were in heaven);
          19:18 (here in 19:18 we will eat the flesh of horses);
          19:19, 21 (Jesus, like in verse 11)

According to Rev 19:18, if in literal sense, we not only will eat the flesh of horses – an unclean animal according to the OT -, but we also will be practicing cannibalism? There is something wrong here…

          • No, you misread that. Rev 19:18 (KJV) says that it is the BIRDS that come and eat the flesh of horses and the mighty men. People are not doing this! “And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;” Revelation 19:17 (KJV)

          • Marc

You are right. Sorry, I did not read correctly that verse. It’s better that way…

          • Trober

“Horsemen” no different than this saying:

“They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks” Isa 2:4

Are modern militaries using swords and spears today? No. Ditto for horses.

fwiw, China has long been capable of a 200,000,000 man army. They also fit the character of a nation sick and tired of religious fanatics destabilizing the world. (Religion is the opium of the masses. And, from their secular point-of-view, they’re correct.)

China could very well say “enough!” and charge the Middle East to do away with what they see as destabilizing the region and the world. (China is setting up bases in Western Africa and getting more involved, militarily, with that region of the world).

      • Skywatcher

Thomas Yakubib, it literally means flesh and blood “horses”, and it will very likely be horses…if they take out the electromagnetic field, as various parties are threatening to do! That will take us back to the Dark Ages! Don’t forget…our God is eternal; He sees the beginning to the end. John was able to recognize horses or he would’ve used some other word such as “things” or “indescribable things” for those things he’d have no idea about.

You said, “Some people are rather willing to pass for a fool, than willing to drop their pretribulation view !…” I find that offensive and anti-christian. You might want to get your hands on the theology book, “Things To Come”, by J. Dwight Pentecost. He shows ALL the arguments for and against the three Tribulation theories. It’s very inexpensive on Amazon.com or Ebay! The Pre-Trib position has 38 arguments for. The opposition has only three arguments for a post-tribulation rapture and Scripturally, they don’t float!

  • That is amazing how the Holy Spirit can direct us and guide us. He is returning, we must put our trust in the Lord and wait patiently for him to direct us. Thank you for this, inspiring to read.

  • David otero

    Hey Geoffrey
Reading Matthew 24:9, Jesus is talking to his disciples ( he’s talking to his Christians) telling them they will be persecuted and hated for being Christian and some will turn from the faith. Does that mean that Christians will go through the tribulation?

    • NO, it does not. Jesus was talking to His Jewish disciples about the coming time of Jacob’s trouble. There was no church in Matthew 24.

      • david otero

ok thanks for clearing that up for me

      • Trober

        Jer 30?

Note in Jer 30 Judah and Israel are explicitly separate in references in that chapter.

        Why? 😉

(Also, why the interchangeable references to Jacob to Israel? 😉

    Hi Geoffrey,

I was amazed to have come across your article linking Matt 24 to Rev 6. I just want to

confirm your understanding for the Lord revealed the same connection to me 6 months

    ago.

For the past 3 years, I have been watching as global events unfold, pointing towards a

time as spelled out in many prophetic scriptures about the end times specifically Matt 24

and Rev 6. I had been puzzled by the many pieces of information from scripture,

prophetic voices and global happenings about how end time events will pan out as we

    hurl towards that time.

I believe in pre-tribulation rapture but I was specifically confused and troubled as to

when the birth pain pangs described in Matt 24, Mk 13 and Lk 21, will play out in the light

of Revelation judgements. Will the birth pains events come before Rev 6, the breaking of

the 7 seals? When will the rapture take place then? During the period of the birth pains

or after? The many pieces of information I’ve collected over the years in my head just

didn’t fit coherently together and in many cases, they appear to contradict each other.

Regarding when the rapture will be, which I had asked Him, the Lord has revealed not

the actual date or time but an event that will precede it. A huge catastrophe in which

millions of people will perish, will occur before the rapture.

So I prayed and asked the Lord for clarity. I felt led to read Matt 24 again in KJV,

    specifically verses 33-34.

“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the

doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be

    fulfilled. ”

I ended up reading the entire 24th chapter and realized that perhaps for the first time

that Jesus was referring to the events following the breaking of the 7 seals detailed in

    Rev 6.

I was awakened at about 5:25am on 15 May 2015. Suddenly, all the pieces of the

puzzles seem to fall into place. The Lord has given me understanding and clarity of how

things fit together and they no longer contradict.

When I asked what I need to do now that I know this, the Lord said, “Watch and behold”.

He said this 4 to 5 times as I enquire about it. I guess he wanted me to watch the events

    unfold and see prophecies fulfilled.

Just sharing and affirming the same understanding from the Holy Spirit.

    • There can be NO doubt that the Bible teaches that the Rapture of the Church MUST come before the time of Jacob’s trouble. But that does not mean we won’t see some awesome and terrible things before we are taken out. Matthew 24 is 100% about the Jews in the tribulation leading to the Second Coming.

      • Trober

I’m sure you have an article or more on your website concerning this? (I personally do not see a pre-trib rapture, but I’d rather there be one!) So, please reply with URL(s) to those articles.

  • Jill rossler

Hi Geoff, my understanding, is that the tribulation saints are the Jews during Jacob s trouble????

  • Keltlady

    Thank you.

  • Shana

Fantastic Finding’s, And I Am So in tuned to what you are saying about the Holy SpiritGiving Us That live Revelation that is nothing short of His SuperNatural POWER!
    Glory Be To GOD!!!!
    I have a question
Have the seals started to be broken and what do you compare the scripture to … Besides the Isis or weather, fighting going on…etc.?
Thank You For This message.. It’s Amazing!!
    God Bless You,In Jesus Name!!!!!
    Shana

    • No, none of the seal, bowls, vials or trumpet judgments have started because the Rapture has to happen first. Thanks for writing!

  • Jack

Regarding Matt 24…in this article and ALL the comments… there has been no mention of versus 20 and 21…..anyone ?

    • Geoffrey Grider

“But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Matthew 24:20,21 (KJV)

Jesus directs your attention to people who worship on the sabbath day, so that cannot be Christians. Only Jews were ever commanded to observe the sabbath. “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” Colossians 2:16,17 (KJV)

      • Tr

        Geoffrey,

all of Israel (12 tribes, then 13) were commanded to keep the Sabbath. Only Judah and his descendants are Jews. (There’s some minor inclusion with the Tribe of Levi and Benjamin, due to many of them remaining in Judah when Samaria was taken captive).

The Sabbath covenant had a promise: those who kept it would be identified as God’s people. Thus, the Jews are recognized today as descendants of Ancient Israel.

Per Geoffrey’s Col 2:16-17 reference: The Sabbath covenant, nor the Old Covenant, were capable or offered for salvation. ONLY the New Covenant offers salvation. (The Old Covenant does offer salvation IF one can keep the law perfectly. Only Christ did that, or CAN do that. So, technically, only the New Covenant offers salvation to mankind in general).

  • Carey

Seal 5 has nothing to do with enduring unto the end to be saved.

Plus, you ignored the seventh seal.

  • Stephen

Hopefully you will realize also the elements found in Matt 24 at the coming of Christ has the same elements mentioned by Paul in 1thess 4

  • Cameron

It is a real shame you have found this and still hold to a pre trib rapture theology.

    • TheGreatTroy

      Cameron, Please explain.

  • Gary

First, I praise our Father in Heaven for opening this understanding to others. AMEN. In 1999 the spirit of Our Lord opened my understanding to this. Coincidently, I just put my hand on a copy of this outline dated 8-1-1999, which I have not touched in a while. I had a feeling Our Lord was about to show me something with this.
    Praise GOD!
I spoke these things to many over the last 15 years, and It always seem to be ‘Greek” to them who heard it.
Out Father is spreading this understanding at this time
    for a reason.

But what Our Father has been strengthening my understanding about this is the 1st horse rider is not anti-Christ; He is Christ.
1)The Word of God in the 1st 2 chapters of Revelation he stated “I am the 1st and last” 3 times: the last horse is white and the rider is “The Word of GOD” Christ.
    2) HE has a bow; this is the definition; Strong’s
Bow G5115; τόξον tóxon, tox’-on; from the base of G5088; a bow (apparently as the simplest fabric):—bow.
[G5088 τίκτω tíktō, tik’-to; a strengthened form of a primary τέκω tékō tek’-o (which is used only as alternate in certain tenses); to produce (from seed, as a mother, a plant, the earth, etc.), literally or figuratively:—bear, be born, bring forth, be delivered, be in travail.]
The bow mention is not a weapon but a fabric? But the base of the word is to produce; The beast does not produce, he destroys.
    3) 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Nobody denies that these are judgments of God, and if it begins with US, than Our Father who loves us will begin by pricking our hearts showing us our shortcomings. Summed up in Ezekiel Chapter 14. We need to boldly come to the Throne of God in our prayer closets!

This revelation confirms that the WORD OF GOD is true and perfect! Is gives more than 1 witness to itself to confirm this truth. GODS timeline is shown perfected.

As stated in 1 Corinthian 15/52 and 1 Thess 4/16-17; When you line up Matt 24 with Revelation 6; There are no trumpets sounding (Rev 8/1-2, the angels receive the trumps), certainly no last trump, no dead in Christ rise at or before Revelation Chapter 6 (they rise in Revelation Chap 11 ver 18, after the last trump sounds,{Rev 11?15}: no Son of man in clouds to receive us. This happens in Revelation Chapter 14 ver 14, after the last trump sounds and before the Wrath of God is poured out in Rev 14/15-20, which is detailed in chapter 16, what will be happening on the earth who no not there GOD, While we who Know There GOD, are at the marriage supper of the Lamb.
The Timeline in Revelation is Perfectly Lined Up With Matthew 24. Mark 13 and Luke 21.

PS Look at Job 5:19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. 21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. 22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. 23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. 24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.

Deliver in six troubles, no evil in the seventh?
Seven seals/seven trumps(the last trump, Christ in the clouds). PERFECT!!!!!
    AMEN!!!!
Redeem from death, war, sword, tongue, famine, beasts are all part of seals.
Faith unfeigned endured until the end!!!
Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

The “Historical School”. . . interprets the Apocalypse as a series of prophecies predicting the events that were to happen in the world and in the Church from John’s day to the end of time. The advocates of the School interpret the symbols of the Book of Revelation as referring to certain historical events that have and are happening in the world. They claim that “Antichrist” is a “System” rather than a “Person,” and is represented by the Harlot Church of Rome. Subsequently it was adopted and applied to the Pope by the forerunners and leaders of the Reformation, and may be said to have reached its zenith in Mr. Elliott’s “Horae Apocalypticae.” It is frequently called the Protestant interpretation because it regards Popery as exhausting all that has been predicted of the Antichristian power. It was a powerful and formidable weapon in the hands of the leaders of the Reformation, and the conviction of its truthfulness nerved them to “love not their lives unto the death.” It was the secret of the martyr heroism of the Sixteenth Century.

The “Futurist School” interprets the language of the Apocalypse “literally,” except such symbols as are named as such and hold that the whole of the Book, from the end of the third chapter, is yet “future” and unfulfilled, and that the greater part of the Book, from the beginning of chapter six to the end of chapter nineteen, describes what shall come to pass during the last week of “Daniel’s Seventy Weeks.” . . . In its present form it may be said to have originated at the end of the Sixteenth Century, with the Jesuit Ribera, who actuated by the same motive as the Jesuit Alcazar, sought to rid the Papacy of the stigma of being called the “Antichrist,” and so referred the prophecies of the Apocalypse to the distant future. Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

When Jesus was speaking to those in that generation, do you believe He was a liar? If you don’t believe He was a liar, then stop making Him out to be one.

    Dear Sir,

This connection was understood by a small biblical Christian church who keeps the weekly Sabbath, annual yearly Sabbaths and feasts and the ten Commandments of God from almost a century ago when God raised up a man to lead this church and raise it up as the Philadelphia era of God’s true church to fulfill Matth 24:14, which was completed at his death(actually murdered) in 1986. I personally became aware of these links and prophesies from the beginning of my calling into this wonderful loving church (which Satan has attacked with ferociousness before and since this man’s death) from 1974; so you are a little late on the uptake but more importantly not right in your interpretation of the links between Matthew 24 and also Mark 13 and Luke 21. The four horseman are metaphors for the state of the world as it would be from Christ’s NT times on-wards and for nearly 2000 would trot across the globe, developing into a gallop as we enter the end times; basically false religion propagated across the globe through false Christianity/mystery Babylon and other fabrications like Islam and other eastern religions/philosophies etc, this would be accompanied by wars religious or otherwise, and as a consequence many famines would follow, which of course leads to sickness and death; All this would intensify in the last days. The 5th seal is the period of actual great tribulation involving the God ordained destruction of end time Israelite nations(Jacob’s trouble), Dan 12:1, Jer 30:7,18, Ezek 5,6 and 7, also 37:25; so-called lost tribes (who aren’t actually lost but identity confused, the two main tribes being Ephraim (Brittan) and Manasseh (The USA), these two carry the name of Israel as bestowed on them by Jacob just before his death in Egypt; this happens because of their great sins, abominations and rejection of the God of Abraham-Isaac-Jacob, the God of Israel, and of course the only true GOD over all the Earth that HE created. These GT is actually a severe corrective punishment to bring the remnants of the physical nations of Israel to repentance towards GOD. At the same time as this will be the last end time martyrdom of the true Christians or believers if you will, seal 5. This GT (which will expand to the rest of the world, i.e the gentiles) will last 3.5 years in total, the last part been the Day of the Lord, the actual 7th seal, the gentiles punishment. The warning of Christ wrath to come comes in the 6th seal, where HE begins to intervene in world affairs during the 7 trumpets of the 7th seal, which culminates in the wrath of GOD and the Lamb in the 7th trumpet which unleashes the 7 last plaques of their wrath symbolized by the 7 bowls of wrath. Christ actually returns at the 7th last trump, and the 7 bowls of wrath are unleashed at His coming, with the saints and the angles by His side, finally destroying all the armies that come against Jerusalem when in prior they had assembled to fight against each other at the place called Armageddon; i.e. the Gog and the Hordes against the Beast and the Ten kings who had joined with him.

As to this so-called rapture, it doesn’t really exist but is misunderstood as much of what Christ said is. The promise of protection is to the Philadelphia era of God’s work after they finish their great commission of Matth 24;14, and only to those who through patience and not denying the Christ who had revealed Himself to them through their calling, stayed the race, Rev 3:10 and Rev 12:14. This protection is to a place of safety prepared for Her by God, and indications are that God will assist in the flight to this place of safety.

The Women of Rev 12:1 is the NT church which Christ began, and her fleeing for safety(into Western Europe away from authorities) occurred when the Great Persecution began, slow at first, around the 4th century(under the Emperor Constantine, 321AD) and greatly intensified during the and following the implementation of the Mark of the Beast on all Christians of the time, as Sunday and Easter etc pagan observances were enforced by law by civil governments under the behest of the image of the Beast (which actually is the governmental structure of the false church being a copy or image of the Roman Empire after 554 AD). God’s Sabbaths, Holy days and festivals were banned and began to be punishable by death if observed, as decreed by the false church in the council of Laodicea: In 363, Canon 29 of the Council of Laodicea prohibited observance of the Jewish Sabbath etc. The early church was protected from total destruction by the attempts of the fallen women and image of the Beast for 1260 years, until the 16th century, by which time the true church of God was weak and powerless and began the Sardis Era of God’s Church, until about 1934, when the Philadelphia Era began to proclaim the end time gospel message that Christ preached: Christ as savior and the return of Christ to establish the kingdom of God on earth, Matth 24:14, Mark 13:10, and to reward His prophets and saints, and to rule over all nations, after which He will offer salvation to all men and fulfill Joel 2, and especially 2:28. The elect of God, dead or alive will be taken by angles up in the clouds to meet Christ at His return and land on the mount of Olives, at the last trump, see Matth 24:13, 40-42, 1Cor 15:50-55. There are many more scriptures I could have used to support, the GT, Jacobs trouble, seals etc, but those who know their bible should know where to look. E.G. see also Zechariah 14, Joel and Amos and especially Revelation that ties it all in.

Everything concerning the last days is included in our Lord’s words recorded by Matthew in
chapter 24 of his gospel. This is because our Lord ended his discussion with the words
“and then the end will come”. So, if the secret rapture is not somewhere in our Lord’s account,
the secret rapture does not exist. I leave you to wrestle honestly with your conscience as to
whether Christ did speak of a secret rapture.

    • Ron

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore** comfort one another with these words.

      There’s The Rapture

      • Pete

        Ron, “There’s The Rapture”. Where?

No mention of going to heaven. No mention of a “time of Jacob’s Trouble” nor of a rescue from that time. The passage does not specify where we end up. Therefore it could just as well be describing believers meeting Jesus in the air and accompanying Him back to earth will we will live eternally with Him. In fact, elsewhere in scripture we read of people going out to meet someone, and in 100% of the cases, the person being met is COMING TO the person going out to meet them.

The “comfort” these people were to receive is the resurrection. Verse 13 says “concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” I realize this is difficult for blind people to understand, but verse 13 doesn’t say “I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning the catching away.” Or “concerning the time of Jacob’s Trouble/Daniels 70th week/Great Tribulation”. Or even “concerning the return of Jesus.”

It’s those who have died. Period.

  • Now the truth begins

One thing all of you are forgetting (or ignoring) is that ALL of these things, not just some, were said to be fulfilled “shortly” and “soon.” And they were; everything in Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 (and all of Revelation) was fulfilled when Jesus said it would be: within their current generation (which is the only way to interpret the word “generation” in that context and most contexts) with the AD 70 destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. EVERYTHING. Look it up in the histories and rejoice in fulfilled prophecy. Rejoice in the fact that the Old Covenant has ended (something Futurists biblically cannot believe). Rejoice in the fact that God now dwells with mankind in the church, the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem (Futurists also cannot biblically believe that God dwells with men). Rejoice in the fact that Jesus is God and is not a deceiver (something else Futurists cannot biblically believe). Quit wasting time worrying about the end of the physical world (something the Bible does not deal with), and start trying to change the world for Christ. I cannot understand that Christ himself prayed that his people would not be taken from the world, yet most of you pray for that to happen. I am sorry to burst your bubble, but the earth and the church will both be here for millions of years, so we should (as the early church) start worrying about things that will make a lasting impact instead of things that do nothing positive whatsoever for the church.
