The list of prominent people in the Christian world who endorse this evil work is beyond belief

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” 1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV)

I have looked at The Message a few times in the past years, and I saw it as a blatant perversion of God’s Holy Word. I just thought that someone tried to make the Bible “hip” or more relevant for our times. But now I am seeing clearly that this unholy mess is completely New Age. I will show the readers of this article why I know that The Message is New Age.

The Message has sold over 10 million copies. The list of prominent people in the Christian world who endorse this evil work is beyond belief. The list of names will shock you. On the other hand, the endorsement by Rick Warren was expected. Not only does he lack discernment, but he is waging war on Christianity with his devilish “Chrislam.”

Prominent Christians who have endorsed The Message:

Amy Grant, Benny Hinn, Bill Hybels, Bill and Gloria Gaither, Billy Graham, Brock and Bodie Thoene, Carol Kent, Chuck Swindoll, Cynthia Heald, Dan Quayle, Dave Dravecky, Toby-DC Talk, Don Moen, Duffy Robbins, Frederick Buechner, Gary Chapmen, Gary Smalley, Gordon Fee, Gordon MacDonald, Harold Fickett, J.I. First, let’s start with the author of this mystical mess. His name is Eugene Peterson. He was the pastor of a Presbyterian Church USA for 29 years. He was Professor of Spiritual Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia until he retired in 2006.

the-message-eugene-h-peterson-new-age-mess-king-james-only

“The Mess calls Jesus “Master” over 400 times and the unique New Age phrase “Master Jesus” appears 76 times! The only other Bible I found “Master Jesus” in was the New Age Bible titled The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ!

What is Spiritual Theology?

“Spiritual theology is a branch of theology that emphasizes living “in the spirit” instead of “in the flesh.” In other words, it is concerned with how a person grows and develops spiritually. The term spiritual theology is most often used in Catholic circles, where it involves the exploration of the works an individual must perform in order to advance to “perfection” in the Christian life. Spiritual theology is seen by Catholic theologians as the uniting of the theologies of aestheticism and mysticism.” [1] – source

He has written many other books. Here are the titles of some of his works:

Traveling Light: Modern Meditations on St. Paul’s Letter of Freedom (Helmers & Howard Publishing, 1988)
Wisdom of Each Other: A Conversation Between Spiritual Friends (Zondervan, 2001)
The Contemplative Pastor: Returning to the Art of Spiritual Direction (Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 1980) [2] – source

Mr. Peterson has written many other books, but the titles of those listed here are quite telling. I will show you that Eugene Peterson is a New Age teacher, and that his purpose in writing The Message was to draw unsuspecting Christians into New Age practices.

Satan’s Plan

Let us look first at the agenda of Occultists for Bible believing Christians:

1. CHRISTIANITY MUST EMBRACE MYSTICISM
2. DOCTRINES ABOUT THE BIBLE REJECTED
3. BIBLE TO BE INTERPRETED AND TAUGHT ALLEGORICALLY, NOT LITERALLY
4. CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE TO BE CHANGED
5. NEW BIBLES WILL CONTAIN NEW GOSPEL AND NEW MESSAGE
6. MYSTICISM TO BE TAUGHT IN CHRISTIAN AND JEWISH SEMINARIES
7. MYSTICISM TO BE MADE ACCESSIBLE TO AVERAGE PERSON
8.THOSE TEACHING MYSTICISM TO THE CHURCH WILL DENY IT
9. NEW AGE MYSTICISM TO BE PROMOTED BY THE CHURCH AND MASONRY
10. MYSTICISM WILL BECOME THE UNIVERSAL RELIGION THROUGH THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT
11. WORLD BIBLE TO BE BASED ON MYSTICISM [3] – source

So, those are Satan’s plans for the world. In an earlier article I wrote on the Lucis Trust, I exposed the U.N. for their plans to bring “Enlightenment” to all the world through New Age teachings. We can see clearly that Satan is scheming on every level of our lives. The ONLY thing that will keep us safe is the Word of the Living God – and reading it daily!

Doctrine of Devils in The Message

We have established that Eugene Peterson is New Age. Now, I will show you that The Message is really a message from the evil one. Let’s first look at terminologies used in the KJB Vs The Message:

“LORD”
7970 times in the KJB. The Message has Lord 71 times.

“LORD JESUS CHRIST”
118 times in the KJV New Testament, and 0 (Zero) times in The Message.

“Let us clarify something . . . the total amputation of the “Lord Jesus” is no accident. It is not an issue of translation or Greek manuscripts. It is not a matter of updating archaic words or making it easier to understand. It was a deliberate and intentional doctrinal decision to remove the “Lord Jesus.”

Please note that Judas never called Jesus “Lord.” He always called Him Master. Judas denied the Lordship of Jesus — always calling Him “Master.”

“Master” Jesus in The Message

“The Mess calls Jesus “Master” over 400 times and the unique New Age phrase “Master Jesus” appears 76 times! The only other Bible I found “Master Jesus” in was the New Age Bible titled The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ!

The following examples (among many) of the “Master Jesus” in The Mess loudly echo the Judas-inspired, New Age doctrine of the “Master Jesus.”

As the rocks rained down, Stephen prayed, “Master Jesus, take my life.” Acts 7:59

Then some of the men from Cyprus and Cyrene who had come to Antioch started talking to Greeks, giving them the Message of the Master Jesus. Acts 11:20

And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. 2 Corinthians 4:14

He who testifies to all these things says it again: “I’m on my way! I’ll be there soon!” Yes! Come, Master Jesus! The grace of the Master Jesus be with all of you. Oh, Yes! Revelation 22:20-21” [4] – source

“Master God” in The Message

“Not content with propagating the NAM “Master Jesus,” The Mess continues its “master” plan. The “Lord God” occurs 546 times in the King James Bible. The “Lord God” briefly appears 9 times in the Mess. The Mess replaces the “Lord God” with “Master God.” I could not find the “Master God” in any other Bible version.

Again, notice the new age, mystic tone of the “Master God” in the Mess.

Abram said, “Master GOD, how am I to know this, that it will all be mine?” Genesis 15:8

King David went in, took his place before GOD, and prayed: “Who am I, my Master GOD, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this place in life? 2 Samuel 7:18”

He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Master GOD, only you know that.”Ezekiel 37:3

The “Divine Guardians” in the Message

“The NAM identifies their “Masters” as “divine guardians” and “custodians of the Divine Plan.” The New-Age Tara Center describes the “Masters” as “custodians” of the Divine Plane:

The Masters, together forming the Spiritual Hierarchy, are the custodians of the Divine Plan for this planet.
(Basics of Ageless Wisdom, Tara Center, p. 3).
In Deuteronomy 32:8, the Mess also references these “divine guardians” who “care for the Earth.” This is not Bible Christianity. And this is not in the Hebrew text! Notice the complete change from the King James Bible.

When the High God gave the nations their stake, gave them their place on Earth, He put each of the peoples within boundaries under the care of divine guardians. Deuteronomy 32:8

When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. Deuteronomy 32:8, KJB”

The “One” in The Message

“The New Age Movement revolves around the “One.” Riplinger writes in New Age Versions: “Virtually all exposes on the New Age Movement observe ‘the One’ is this movement’s object of worship.” (Riplinger, G.A. New Age Versions, p. 85)

New Age guru H.P. Blavatsky teaches the NAM begins with “the One”:

“The esoteric theogony begins with the One. . . ”
(Blavatsky, H.P. The Secret Doctrine. Vol. 1, Page 94)
“The Secret Doctrine carries this idea into the region of metaphysics and postulates a ‘One Form of Existence’ as the basis and source of all things.”
(Blavatsky, H.P. The Secret Doctrine. Vol. 1, Page 46)

In the following quote Blavatsky states Jehovah and the Serpent [Satan] that tempted Eve both are the “One”.

It is curious that Jehovah’s name in Hebrew should also be One,. . . Jehovah — esoterically (as Elohim) — is also the Serpent or Dragon that tempted Eve. . .
(Blavatsky, H.P. The Secret Doctrine. Vol. 1, Page 73)
The One theology stems from pantheism. The word Pantheism derives from the Greek words pan meaning “all” and theos meaning “god.” Pantheism teaches God is All and All is God or “One”. It rejects a personal, loving God, instead defining God as “Presence” or “One.” Infoplease defines “pantheism” as “a denial of God’s personality and expresses a tendency to identify God and nature.” The god Pan appears as a cloven-foot, half-man, half-goat satyr playing the hypnotic “pan pipes.” (Ezek. 28:13) Occultist Albert Pike describes Satan as “. . . the mythologic and horned form of the God Pan. . .” (Pike, Morals and Dogma, p. 102) The Satanic Bible (p. 144) also includes Pan in its list of Infernal Names of Satan. Hence, a pan-theist follows Satan.

During a NAM meeting in Boulder, New Age leader Jose Arguelles told his listeners to, “. . . invite “PAN” in, accepting him as the leader and guide for their lives. . . that ‘right now Mother Earth is bringing Pan back to save us and lead us into the New Age. We can help by surrendering to him. . .” (www.raidersnewsupdate.com/gaia.htm)

Make no mistake — Pan is the “One” of the New Age religion.

The New Testament of the King James Bible never refers to God or the Lord Jesus as the impersonal One. Several times Jesus Christ is called the Holy One and the Just One, but never an impersonal, mystic One. The Mess changes the personal pronouns such as he and him (that reference Jesus and God) and personal nouns such as the Father, with the impersonal pantheistic “One” over 102 times in the New Testament! The following verses from The Mess loudly resonant the New Age “One” mantra.

No one has seen the Father except the One who has his Being alongside the Father–and you can see me. John 6:46
As John was finishing up his work, he said, ‘Did you think I was the One? No, I’m not the One. But the One you’ve been waiting for all these years is just around the corner, about to appear. And I’m about to disappear.’ Act 13:25
Since the One who saves and those who are saved have a common origin, Jesus doesn’t hesitate to treat them as family, Hebrews 2:11”

Every time the Animals gave glory and honor and thanks to the One Seated on the Throne–the age-after-age Living One— Revelation 4:9

“Oneness” in The Message

Building upon the “One” concept, a distinct code-word among the mystic New Agers is “oneness.”

“The root idea of the New Age is oneness, unity and wholeness—the One for all.” (Groothuis, Douglas R. Unmasking the New Age, Illinois: InterVarsity Press 1986, p. 115)
“This oneness of life is the crux of the New Age movement.” (Yungen, Ray. A Time of Departing, Lighthouse Trails Publishing, Silverton, 2002 p. 130)
“Oneness” is an unusual and bizarre word, not appearing in most dictionaries. Only New Agers recognize the “oneness” teaching. Following the mystic New Age “Oneness” script, The Mess says in Ephesians 4:6, “Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness”. The word “permeate” means “spread throughout” or “to penetrate”. According to The Mess, “Everything you are and think and do is spread throughout with Oneness.” Make no mistake about it — this is heavy-duty New Age doctrine.

The New Age guidebook Metaphysical Primer: A Guide to Understanding Metaphysics gives nearly the exact same principle of the New Age Movement, “Everything is one with everything else. All that is on Earth is an expression of the One Deity and is permeated with Its energies.” (Yungen, Ray. A Time of Departing, p. 52)

The Mess doesn’t stop there. It continues to spread the New Age “Oneness.”

I in them and you in me. Then they’ll be mature in this oneness. . . John 17:23
Because there is one loaf, our many-ness becomes one-ness. . . 1 Corinthians 10:17
Another “oneness” term the New Age Religion exercises is “interdependence.”

Constance Cumbey writes in The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, “Another key teaching of this movement is that all things are ‘interconnected’ or ‘interdependent’”. (Cumbey, Constance, The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, p. 67)

Cult author Dr. Walter Martin, identifies “interdependence” as a New Age “buzz-word” used to “describe the oneness”.

Interdependence/Interconnectedness – These words are used by New Agers to describe the oneness and essential unity of everything in the universe.
(Martin, Walter, The New Age Cult, p. 129)
Like a hypnotized cobra being charmed by the sweet sound of the piper, The Mess serenely dances to the New Age Piper (Ezek. 28:13) while singing the song of interdependence.

Everyone I meet–it matters little whether they’re mannered or rude, smart or simple–deepens my sense of interdependence and obligation. Romans 1:14

The “Presence” in The Message

Another key New Age teaching surrounds “the Presence.” The NAM “Presence” forms a mystic, impersonal pantheist “presence” of God. The following quotes reveal the importance of the “Presence” in the New Age agenda.

Occultism sums up the ‘One Existence’ thus: ‘Deity is an arcane, living (or moving) fire, and the eternal witnesses to this unseen Presence. . .”
(Blavatsy, H.P. The Secret Doctrine, Vol. 1, Page 2)
The Christ Self, then, has communication with the Father who in both Principle and Person is the Presence of God, the I AM THAT I AM, or the I AM Presence.
(Elizabeth Clare Prophet, Mysteries of the Holy Grail, p. 217)
Alice Bailey reveals the “Presence” strikes a blow at the Biblical “transcendent” God or a God that exists apart from nature and man.

This inevitably brings in the concept of the Presence, or of God Immanent and is the result of the needed revolt against the one-sidedness of the belief in God Transcendent.” (Bailey, Alice, The Externalization of the Hierarchy, p. 355) The Mess refers to God at least 34 times as the NAM “Presence.” Teaching the God of the Bible as a mystic Presence constitutes blatant blasphemy. This can only be defined within a New Age viewpoint. In sharp contrast, remember, the Mess NEVER directly refers to Jesus as Lord. The following verses (of many) echo the NAM mystic “Presence” of the Mess:

No one has ever gone up into the presence of God except the One who came down from that Presence, the Son of Man. John 3:13
I saw a Great White Throne and the One Enthroned. Nothing could stand before or against the Presence, nothing in Heaven, nothing on earth. Revelation 20:11
The Mess calls the sacred “shewbread” as the mystic “Bread of the Presence” eight times [Ex. 25:30, 35:13, 39:36, 1 Sam. 21:6, 1 Kings 7:48, 2 Chron. 4:19, 29:18].

Always keep fresh Bread of the Presence on the Table before me. Exodus 25:30

The “Energy” in The Message

Energy activates the spiritual “force” of the New Age religion. Prayers, meditations, invocations, and rituals all create energies.

The inflow of this energy has brought many hundreds of people into a new and deeper spiritual realization;. . . Thus is the New Age dawning . . . This is the occult law. (Bailey, Alice. The Externalization of the Hierarchy, p. 7)
Every man should realize that in the use of energy lies direction and the treading of the Path. . . Students should familiarize themselves with the ‘energy concept’ and learn to regard themselves as energy units displaying certain types of energy. (Bailey, Alice. The Rays and the Initiations, p. 4)
Alice Bailey references “energy” over 1029 in the Rays and The Initiations. New Age disciple and popular, folk-rocker Tori Amos, defines this New Age energy as Lucifer, while readily confessing her love and worship of Lucifer.

I wanted to marry Lucifer. . . I don’t consider Lucifer an evil force. We can all tap into that free-running current of distorted energy.”
Tori Amos, (Francesca Lia Block, “The Volcano Lover”, SPIN, March 1996)
To visit Father Lucifer, to have a moment to dance… to go down in the dark, to visit with the dude! Not these little ‘Prince of Darkness’ wannabes… some of them are cute, but to visit the real energy force that has held the darkness: you go there with honor. . .”
(A bottle of red: Tori Amos, B-Side Magazine, Sandra A. Garcia, May-June 1996)

The Mess explicitly promotes the NAM mystical “energy.” Energy appears 40 times in The Mess. Note: Energy only appears one time in some of the other per-versions. The Mess leaves no doubt concerning its faith in the New Age “energy” force.

In Matthew 5:44 and Luke 6:28, the Mess changes “pray” to “the energies of prayer.” Apparently, God no longer answers our prayers, instead, the prayer itself, generates “the energy.” The Bible definition of prayer means “to ask.” (Matthew 21:22)

When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person. Luke 6:28

Mark 5:30 and Luke 16:19 no longer reads “virtue” leaving the Lord Jesus, but “energy discharging” or “surging” from him.

At the same moment, Jesus felt energy discharging from him. He turned around to the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” Mark 5:30

The following are a few more (of many) undeniable NAM “energy” doctrine in the Mess:

All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, Ephesians 1:20
That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure. Philippians 2:13

The “Light” in The Message

A casual study of the New Age religion quickly exposes their light-god. A best selling New Age book of the 90’s was Embraced by the Light by Betty Eadie. Light is the cornerstone of NAM.

The popular new age prayer called The Great Invocation by Alice Bailey, (originally published by Lucifer Publishing), begins with the words, “From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of men. Let Light descend on Earth.” And it ends with “Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.”

Marilyn Ferguson, states in her best-selling New-Age guidebook, The Aquarian Conspiracy:

“Always, the vision of evolution toward the light. Light is the oldest and most pervasive metaphor in spiritual experience. We speak of enlightenment, the city of light, the Light of the Word, children of light, the ‘white-light experience’, (Ferguson, Marilyn. The Aquarian Conspiracy, p. 385)

The guiding light of NAM is Lucifer, which means “light bearer.” Hence, new age disciples proudly label themselves, “light bearers.” The Dictionary of Word Origins by John Ayto, under the listing for “Lucifer,” simply says “see LIGHT.” (p. 329) The definition for “light” then reads “. . . Latin lux ‘light’ which English gets Lucifer, literally ‘light bearer’.” (Ayto, John. Dictionary of Word Origins, p. 323) 2 Corinthians 11:14, says, “. . . Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” In Luke 10:18, Jesus Christ says, “. . . I beheld Satan as lightning . . .”

The following excerpts from New Age material testify of their “light” god:

“This Light will irradiate (in a fashion unknown before) not only the Father’s House, which is the source of all our planetary light. . This light will now flood the world of men, bringing illumination to men’s minds and light into the dark places of human living It is light and – above all else . . .”
(Bailey, Alice. The Reappearance of the Christ, p. 58)

“To this light the mystics testify, and it is this light into which they enter, and which enters into them, revealing the light which is latent and drawing it forth to potency. “In Thy light shall we see light.” This is the outstanding fact of scientific mysticism. God is light. . .”
(Bailey, Alice. From Bethlehem to Calvary, p. 153)

The Mess is flooded with the mystic NAM “light.” The Mess adds “light” when light is not in the text. It magically transforms simple “light” into NAM “God-light” or “Life-light.” The following verses from The Mess compared with the KJB clearly reveal the NAM “light” agenda.

NEW AGE LIGHT FLOODING THE MESSAGE

“Light Bearers” in The Message

Lucifer literally means “light bearer.” And New Agers, who recognize Lucifer as their god, proudly wear the title “light-bearer.”

“. . . the one in whom the light shines becomes a light-bearer in a dark world.”
(Bailey, Alice. The Rays and The Initiations, p. 49)
These words carry meaning to all true disciples and present them with an analogous goal which they define to themselves as that of finding the light, appropriating the light, and themselves becoming light-bearers.
(Bailey, Alice. The Rays and The Initiations, p. 143)

The Mystic Mess also claims the Luciferian New Age banner, “light-bearer.”

If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you?. . .Matthew 5:15

Another well-known NAM term is “light-seeds.” And again (and again. . .), The Mess preaches NAM agenda.

Light-seeds are planted in the souls of God’s people. . . Psalm 97:11

Conclusion

Brethren, If you are not yet convinced that The Message is grounded in New Age teachings, then if I were you, I’d ask the Lord to open my eyes and give me discernment.

As a matter of fact, if you are not convinced, I do think that you should examine yourselves to make sure that you are in the faith.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” – 2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV)

Maranatha!
Shalom b’Yeshua

Born into a Jewish family in Maryland, I was always searching for the truth about Jesus. I knew that He had to be someone so very special. My dad would say "He was a good man, but not who he said he was." So a good man would lie? At the age of 31, I finally met Yeshua, and He became my Lord and Savior. I am a Jew who has been made complete in Him. I am now anxiously awaiting His Glorious return to rapture His church! Maranatha!

Actually if you want perfect, go to the original Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek texts. NONE of the english versions are perfect.

        • All of the other versions of the Bible are tame compared to The Message. The writer of this most evil book has an agenda. He is introducing Christians into the world of mysticism and New Age philosophies. This will be the religion of the world during the Tribulation, I believe. New Age, Wicca, atheism, Eastern mysticism, and now, a new version of Christianity – New Age and very ecumenical. The RCC has been filled with mystics since its inception.

        • standfortruth

The King James is the perfect, infallible inspired word of God in English. No Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek for me. Save those translations for people who speak those languages.

          • Bro Nick Nicholas

Stand for Truth – AMEN about the ability of “the Lord God Almighty” being able to innerantly preserve His Holy Word – Just as it is written in “the word of the LORD”:

Ҧ Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh:
is there any thing too hard for me?”
            (Jer 32:26-27, KJB)

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass,
one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,
            till all be fulfilled.”
            (Matt 5:18, KJB)

“Every word of God is pure:
he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
            (Prov 30:5-6, KJB)

        • D.E.

Ken, you are correct. King James was not a good man. Read it yourself. He did hire Hebrew scholars to translate the Bible into English, but he had the final say of what was published. He did not like women and may have had various dalliances with men of the court. So, I guess this is ok? Really? Why do you (the person in charge of this blog) not put something positive on here? It is all judgmental. Are you a happy person? Does the grace of God mean anything to you? I see why Christians are seen as narrow-minded haters. How can you win anyone to Christ? He is love…not hate. I also see the list of people who you say endorse the Message happen to be people you don’t care for. Are you jealous? Geez..lighten up on yourself. Only Jesus is perfect.

      • L

The Message is a paraphrase, not a perversion. If you want to critique a version, go after the King James. It was translated from the Latin Vulgate, not the Greek and Hebrew. It also is the only version to give satan the title of lucifer which is a perversion of scripture and gives him the title he wants. (He masquerades as an angel of light. He is NOT the angel of light 2 cor. 11).

      • Daryl, the King James Bible is not perfect. The term ‘office of a bishop’ is nowhere in the original Greek text. The language of the King James Bible is such that those who wish to ‘sit in Moses’ seat’ like King James himself did, use the manipulated English KJV to justify Church as an institution and functions of service as Job Titles.

Sister Geri – Thank you for writing this extremely timely message of the dangers of spiritual deceptions, delusions and “falling away first” from “the truth” which is “the word of the LORD” – and they are happening more and more frequently.

David Jeremiah needs to be added to the long list of those who use ‘The Message’ (rhymes with ‘sewage’).

As “our beloved brother”, the Apostle Paul was inspired to write – to those few that have “an heart to perceive”, “ears to hear”, and “eyes to see” the warning specifically written in “the word of the LORD:
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”
          (2 Cor 11:3-4, KJB)

Truly we are living in the Biblically Prophetically warned times when – RIGHT NOW:
Ҧ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,
but of hearing the words of the LORD:
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east,
they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD,
          and shall not find it.
In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer–sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.”
          (Amos 8:11-14, KJB)

This post actually needed a warning prior to reading. I experienced a blinding headache and chest pains each time I read some of the blasphemies from the Message. This is scary!

No, I PLEASE do not want a copy of your 200-page fraud. Never.

One of the oldest bible manuscript, the John Rylands manuscript, Was dated to 125 A.D.

        anouther example:
the Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians (dated 95 A.D.) cites verses from the Gospels, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Titus, Hebrews, and 1 Peter.

They just found a Gospel of Mark fragment.. 90 AD

          • Andrew A

Yea ok, I haven’t read about that discovery yet. Thanks for letting me know to update myself. I am going to find it fun when we find a good collection of new Testmont pieces around 40 ad and it is the same as the ones in 90 to 140 ad. Then their really is no more excuse to claim it was all made up by people after the fact.

This comment is so very sad, Mr William. My heart breaks for what broke yours to turn so against the thought of there being a Heavenly Father. BTW, what broke your heart and turned you against him wasn’t an unanswered prayer; people have free will, and sometimes things happen in life to develop our character, not to hurt us.

As my Dean was saying today in class, try to think of it as a fire in a building here in NYC. It has consumed all the bottom floors and you are on the top few floors. You and your roommate are arguing about how you are going to get out.

One fool says, “Oh no we wont die, the fire won’t rise it wont get us. It is all a lie, it cannot be true that fire would rise.”

The other wise roommate says “Dude, we will die. BUT THERE IS ONE WAY OUT, THAT ONLY WAY IS IF WE TAKE THIS FIRE ESCAPE DOWN THE OUTSIDE; WE MIGHT LIVE”

Um…wake up call dude with the 200 page thesis for probably a philosophy class…

        Jesus is THAT FIRE ESCAPE!

Eternity is a very long time to sit there and realize you made the wrong choice while you were alive on this earth. I would rather error on the side of being an “uneducated Christian woman” than found out I spent all that time in my life researching the wrong things, and realize that i was a fool.

Only a real fool anyway would sit there and only look at one religion, they would look at them all then take a look at the world today and realize… wow maybe these crazy, kooky Christians aren’t so stupid.

        just sayin…..

      • Surely you must have saved your mini novel as a file, so you can copy and paste it on Christian websites. Very sad.

There are five versions below which describe you mr clever cloggs

        New International Version
For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

        New Living Translation
As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”

        English Standard Version
For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

        New American Standard Bible
        Jesus said.
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
For it is written, “I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE.”

        King James Bible
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Et Cepher. You may like it. Google it.

        • Typical, apostate, modern piece of trash masquerading as a Bible.

      • Andrew A

Thankyou for another long and fantastic read. I was personally unaware of the books you talked about for the most part. I have had a tendency to ignore most of the New Age works but seeing what is being done by it is a very sad turn of events. What amazes me is how much this so called NEW AGE belief is almost the exact same as an OLD Age Hersey known as gnosticism.

        • rebelwithacause

@ Mr Andrew! WOW! God is so cool, I must share this with you.

As I studied some scriptures here moments ago for a paper due at the end of my hermeneutics class, I was reading in Colossians about the false doctrines being taught in Colosse. The side note on my new NKJV is titled “Bible Times & Culture Notes”, but in reading about the teachings called Gnosticism, it hit me I read that word somewhere.

Yes I read it in your comment. Then I looked up again to my surprise what did I read? I really had no idea that @ Mr William Greenwood and his title was (oh, my) a Gnostic, Alternative Theology Professor. Hmmm Things that make you go hmmmmm….

New Age, Old age (Colosse), seems to me it is the same. WOW!

Sadly most of the world is so confused by the hypocrite they see in almost all of today’s Christian walk, talk and everyday life. This new age, peaceful, PC, type of church would be attractive if there was no real foundation in the Word of God.

          • Andrew A

Interesting part was I did not even intend to originally replay to him. But now that you point it out yea I find it not surprising he seems to be a Gnostic. Hope Mr Green Wood takes time to actually read the bible and accept Jesus as The Savor of the world sent by God to pay for are sins. Rather then trying so hard to argue that it was made up in the 3rd century which is very easily proven to be false just by the old letters of the churches we have at the moment.

      • You need prayer, sir. But mostly, you need Jesus. You are lost and hell bound. Sorry to be that blunt, but honesty is my strong suit.

    • S.PATTERSON

Reading those ungodly verses of the NAM was chilling. But really it isn’t surprising. These are the Last Days. Just look at world and all the ungodliness. Stay in The Word of God. Hide His word in your heart.

    • Andrew A

(Wanted this a separate post not a response to someone else so sorry for confusion of the double post.)

      • Drew, thank you for your comment. You say you stay away from New Age works, but please know this: The Message is offered on Biblegateway.com as an alternate Bible version – sitting right there with all others. So don’t think that you have to go into a New Age store to get The Message. Christian book stores have it available. After all, 10 million have been sold!!

        • Andrew A

That is deeply disturbing and a sad statement to the times.

I have never used biblegateway.com so I was unaware of that until now. I am even more glade you wrote the article now. The fact New Age is starting to be considered in off shoot or even apart of Christianity is extremely blasphemes and I very rarely like to through that word around.

          • Suelynn P.

It is sad that the world has come to this, but as said in Revelations 22:18-20

I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; 19and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book. 20He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.…

These days are getting rougher and because of this book we will expect more from God.

        • D.E.

I challenge you to read The Message with your KJV and your Hebrew/Greek concordance. Please compare. Especially compare to the Hebrew/Greek.

      • Richard, Amen & amen!!

      • Suelynn P.

Amen, brother. I was lost and depressed until I gave myself fully to Jesus and the Father. So many people had tried to put me down since I committed myself, but I reminded them and told my story of the many psychiatrists I had to see and yet couldn’t help me until I turned my Faith to the Lord. I immediately felt liberated from sin and darkness and it’s a battle everyday to not let these evil things take over me again. Ever since I became a born again Christian, it’s like the devil is trying hard to put me down. The little things that has been happening to me like sickness and sadness have been occurring more often. But, it’s okay because I have Jesus with me and it’s the most beautiful strength I could ever have.

      • Bro. Nick Nicholas

Richard O. Mann – As you have chosen, so have I also personally chosen the use only the Holy Bible, KJV.
My closest ‘brother-in-Christ Jesus’ is a ‘Holy Ghost educated’, itinerant, non-denominational Kenyan Pastor – Brother John K.’s comment on why he will personally only use the Holy Bible, KJV is the clearest that I’ve ever heard – ‘all of the other ‘bible versions’ are shallow’.

Brother John was led to tell me of the following Scripture from “the word of the LORD”:
“Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise,
and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
        For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee;
they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.
That thy trust may be in the LORD,
I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.
Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
        That I might make thee know THE CERTAINTY OF THE WORDS OF TRUTH;
that thou mightest answer THE WORDS OF TRUTH to them that send unto thee?”
        (Prov 22:17-21, KJB)

        – all CAPITALization and emphasis of “the word of God” is mine – Bro. Nick

    • “LORD JESUS CHRIST”
118 times in the KJV New Testament, and 0 (Zero)
      times in The Message.”

Well if he gives my Lord Jesus Christ ( ZERO ) then
thats how I will appraise Eugene Peterson’s work
                                          ZERO !

In fact worse than zero, how is it that these Pastors
feel fit to rewrite the  WORD OF GOD ??? That
somewhere from their own imaginings that they can
correct God or improve on what the Word has already
stated. Surely one would have to be influenced by
an outside source that claims he will be like the most
high, that his source of knowledge is equal to that
      of God himself !

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will
ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the
stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the
congregation, in the sides of the north:
      14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will be like the most High.

2 Corinthians 4:3   But if our gospel be hid, it is
hid to them that are lost:
4   In whom the god of this world hath blinded the
minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the
glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
      should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the
Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of
darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light
of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of
      Jesus Christ.

The new age mysticism has replaced the ” light of the
glorious gospel of Christ” with that of the god of this
      world ! The ” Light bearer” ! Appalling !

      • Bro. Nick Nicholas

Mike – Thank you for your Biblical comments.

I wonder if any of those ‘scholars’ that publish yet another perversion of “thus saith the LORD”, “the law of God” – have any true Biblical “fear of the LORD”?
Where is the desire to “serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:” when “the Lord God Almighty” specifically warns those that ‘tamper with’ His Holy Word?
“the Lord and Saviour Jesus” personally said:
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass,
one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,
        till all be fulfilled.”
        (Matt 5:18, KJB)

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book,
If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
        (Rev 22:18-19, KJB)
        – also read Deut 4:2, 12:32 | Prov 30:5-6 | Ecc 3:14-15, KJB

Wait a minute! I love this sight and almost all the articles I read on here but i must comment on this one.

You know prior to a few weeks ago I might have completely agreed with this statement, article, and arguments. Then I would have had a full on arguement with the best of y’all that the NKJV is either the only way or y’all need to just hit the highway and take your political correct Christianity with you. I also would have backed it up with scripture references that might make you question if your reading the right version yourself.

But a few weeks ago, I started attending a bible college, my first two courses are hermeneutics and evangelism. I’m really learning a lot in both classes but I have to say that hermeneutics is teaching me the most not only about the bible and how it was written but how we as flawed humans can take scriptures out of context.

Not only that can confuse us but we must understand the author who it’s written to, and for what reason. Then a huge factor we must consider is that language is a constant changing factor and moving force we must understand throughout history in general. Webster’s dictionary ads and deletes many words really as society changes. For example, a dictionary 25 years ago would not have included the word “selfie”, but it’s in there now.

Furthermore, all the intentions of the authors original thoughts when he tried to write the scripture, for a specific time and people is quite different than what we live in now. With all of those factors in consideration and then add into the mix that the original original scholars that all for together and translated the scrolls for King James even wrote a short preface on the original copies of the first combined bible that they tried to do their best in translation, but all 47 of them had some doubt they did it with complete confidence in accuracy.

I said all that to say this, maybe I could be wrong. I free up as a baby Christian on the NIV, and a few years ago changed to the NKJV because I had to feast from what I thought at the time was the only complete and perfect bible out there. Then in class we started hearing other versions and BAM, some of them pierce my heart on a deeper level.

… Maybe this old dog can learn a few new tricks from the younger ones out there. Just saying. ..

      • Rebel – are you saying that The Message is just a new way to present the Word of God with new and updated verbiage? Because if that IS what you are saying, then I must tell you that you are wrong. The Message is evil to its core, and the man who wrote it is New Age to his core.

    • rebelwithacause

      Just a couple more thoughts..

As a girl who explored about ten different religions trying to find the right one to satisfy the unrest in my soul, my gracious Father God allowed me to see them all and how they all could have been wrong because of a potentially wrong doctrine based on bad hermeneutics.

Take the snake handler churches, as one fine example. Let alone, the SDA’s, Catholics, Mormons, and the Westburough faiths; please don’t get me started on religions. There wasn’t a perfect religion that followed Jesus Christ or even after His crucifixion, there were only good discipled men who did exactly what they saw the Teacher do.

I am not trying to argue religion either, because there a some very fine Christians in almost every religion, just a while lot of flawed doctrine, which is what Jesus warned us about.

      • I think you meant “in every denomination” not religion.

    • Hebrews 13:8   Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
and to day, and for ever.

Gee, I guess somethings never change, just saying.

      • rebelwithacause

hmmmm… Mike, that seems that is exactly what the message bible says, Now I am really confused.

        Hebrews 13:8 The Message (MSG)

7-8 Appreciate your pastoral leaders who gave you the Word of God. Take a good look at the way they live, and let their faithfulness instruct you, as well as their truthfulness. There should be a consistency that runs through us all. For Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself.

        • Rebel…… You really must not take Scripture out of context. You say that you think that Hebrews 13:8 is accurate in The Message. That passage speaks of Jesus. You must see the “Jesus” that The Message presents. It never calls Him Lord. It refers to Him as “Master” which is how Judas addressed our Lord Jesus – never Lord – only Master. Judas denied the Lordship of Christ, as does The Message!!! Pray for discernment. Without it, you are vulnerable to the attacks of the evil one. The New Age movement speaks of many “Masters.”

This page/article and most of the replies sound as if they came from a room full of Pharisees. You seek to limit God’s revelation through a purely fundamentalist lens, but have no problem with God using a donkey to get a message across to Balaam.

Many are commenting here with a critical spirit yet probably don’t even obey ALL of the 10 Commandments like the 4th Commandment to honor the Sabbath, yet then falsely try to say Jesus said we don’t have to (big hint, ALL of the 10 Commandments are meant to be obeyed). You listen to a sermon at church each Sunday which is nothing more than a paraphrase of the bible by your church Pastor, then come here with a self righteousness that serves little purpose other than to throw stones and does little to truly glorify our Father.

“You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You keep meticulous account books, tithing on every nickel and dime you get, but on the meat of God’s Law, things like fairness and compassion and commitment—the absolute basics!—you carelessly take it or leave it. Careful bookkeeping is commendable, but the basics are required. Do you have any idea how silly you look, writing a life story that’s wrong from start to finish, nitpicking over commas and semicolons?

“You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You burnish the surface of your cups and bowls so they sparkle in the sun, while the insides are maggoty with your greed and gluttony. Stupid Pharisee! Scour the insides, and then the gleaming surface will mean something.

You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You’re like manicured grave plots, grass clipped and the flowers bright, but six feet down it’s all rotting bones and worm-eaten flesh. People look at you and think you’re saints, but beneath the skin you’re total frauds.

You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You build granite tombs for your prophets and marble monuments for your saints. And you say that if you had lived in the days of your ancestors, no blood would have been on your hands. You protest too much! You’re cut from the same cloth as those murderers, and daily add to the death count.

Snakes! Reptilian sneaks! Do you think you can worm your way out of this? Never have to pay the piper? It’s on account of people like you that I send prophets and wise guides and scholars generation after generation—and generation after generation you treat them like dirt, greeting them with lynch mobs, hounding them with abuse.

You can’t squirm out of this: Every drop of righteous blood ever spilled on this earth, beginning with the blood of that good man Abel right down to the blood of Zechariah, Barachiah’s son, whom you murdered at his prayers, is on your head. All this, I’m telling you, is coming down on you, on your generation.”

which by the way that passage was from Matthew 23:23-36
      (The Message)

      • Seems that you are angry at God, not us. We know we can’t keep all of the Commandments! That is no news to us. That is EXACTLY why Jesus died on that horrid Cross for us. He paid the price for all of our sins, and then gave us His righteousness. We are forgiven because of Him. There is only ONE perfect one and His name is Jesus Christ. I would suggest to you, instead of pointing your finger at Christians, look in the mirror and see who you are. Jesus is waiting for you to admit that you are a sinner, in desperate need of a Savior. That’s all we are – forgiven – not perfect. When He takes us to heaven, THEN we will be perfected.

      • Bro. Nick Nicholas

Ken – Those who are truly “converted” believers and followers of “our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” know that we are forgiven sinners – ONLY BY the Wondrous Mercy and Grace of “the Lord God Almighty.
As it was written in “the word of the LORD” by King David:
        “Who can understand his errors?
cleanse thou me from secret faults.
        Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me:
then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”
        (Ps 19:12-14, KJB)

“And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying,
God be merciful to me a sinner.”
        (Luke 18:13, KJB)
        .

      • Bro. Nick Nicholas

Helena Lehman – Are you a follower of ‘the Hebrew roots’ movement?

You made the comment – ‘What I find offensive about ALL Western English translations of the Bible is their refusal to use the True Names of God in the text!’
Is it also offensive to you that my brothers and sisters who are truly “converted” believers and followers of “our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” who can understand only “the word of the LORD” as it has been translated or spoken in their ‘mother tongue’ of Maasai {Kenya}, tiếng Việt {Vietnam}, Pitjantjatjara {Aborigine tribe/clan in Australia}, and the more than 6,900 other known languages worldwide
        – that they do not speak or understand what you call – ‘The True Names of God’ in Hebrew -?

How very thankful I am that “our beloved brother Paul” was inspired by “the Holy Ghost” to write:
“The Lord shall judge his people.”
        (from Heb 10:30, KJB)
        .

      • D.E.

Helena..have you seen the Et Cepher yet? All the names in it are in the original languages.

    • Kelly Petit

Really? I think there are other things to be worrying about. Hellloooo. When we talk about our Savior and we spread the gospel do we all use King James language? I don’t! I use every day language. The Message uses everyday language. I know people who read The Message and come to know Jesus. Quite frankly it’s a good read and it points to HIM! And even if the author is New Age it’s still giving Jesus the attention. Sometimes God uses what perhaps isn’t fully intended for Him anyway. He’s bigger than language. He’s bigger that us being all righteous and know-it-all thank God! We are walking on this planet full of the demonic and full of the dark disguised as light. We have images in our face every day on TV, on billboards, in magazines and work places. This earth isn’t our home! We have a connection to the supernatural in our God. He protects us. He gives discernment where it’s needed. He’s bigger than us! I imagine some of you would be horrified of all the ways He uses his children to walk alleys and dirty places to spread His love and His word. If He can use the Message, so be it. He’s bigger than anything Satan intended. Come on people. Get with the program and prioritize what’s really important. Pleeeeeease quit being so committed to being the “right” christians and the “only” ones who see the truth…the “better” ones who have an edge on the rest of us poor souls who just don’t get it because we are just not as “holy” as the self proclaimed “chosen few.” Really?

I thought the Jehovah Witnesses bible was the worst perversion I had ever seen. However, I have to admit “The Message” now tops the list as the worst perversion. When I was first saved I was presented with different opinions and different versions. A wise Christian told me to pray about which one I should read. The Holy Spirit impressed upon me immediately that the King James was the one. Even seminary trained brothers have NOT convinced me that the modern versions are OK. Thank you sister for another great article.

      Ms Geri,

I mean no respect to you nor the article. I love reading your articles and have for many years (maybe 4 or 5), I just haven’t had the courage to comment. Reason being is Internet comments can stir up such arguments and frustration I really just don’t want to deal with it. Spirits of “offense” can run rampant on end time sites with others just trying to stir up distention or strife because of being bound by their strong beliefs in one idea. But I believe you and the other writers on this site are awesome watchmen on the walls and I truly read and share when it hits my spirit hard.

Yes you were right, I did mean denominations on that one comment. But it is not about a denomination, religion or who is right anyway; ITS ALL about having a true and real RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ. Been a long four days of intercession as a watchman in this house here, no excuse just not as sharp as I needed to be when trying to intelligently communicate my thoughts.

Maybe I did take it out of context, honestly I would have to study it as I am being taught in Bible College. Regardless of what is right or wrong, some of the young girls who never finished high school or junior high; that are now in their 30’s getting off drugs and alcohol in the streets of NYC. I work in a Christian rehabilitation center, started by Dave Wilkerson, I am sure you’ve heard Teen Challenge. Anyway, just can’t read the literary writing styles of many bibles, but you hand them this one and you watch them transform as they read it.

All I am saying is what I have been taught about the bible and how it continues to be transitioned throughout the centuries. As language changes and it has transformed over the last 2000 years, I come to realize we must understand people in general. For example, in my parents generation ain’t could not be found in the dictionary, but its there now. There was a time, where many speculations about the NIV was considered an evil bible because there were people stuck in legalism without having understanding of how people evolve over the ages. People rumored that one of the translators of the NIV version was a lesbian and it was influenced by demonic forces.

If I am going to be that judgmental about the world I live in then I really cant call myself a CHRISTIAN, because My Father God is in control of all things, even perceived evil. Technology, education and communication has exponentially transformed our society. was exactly how some people feel about the Message bible. There was a rumor that a lesbian woman had a part in the translation.

When I became a staunch NKJV ONLY reader because the NIV, NLT and all other versions were missing Acts 8:37 and 1 John 5:8… which by the way are so very important in steps in any Christian walk. Many of my friends began to change their bibles, after I would so pridefully but attempting to be humble point out those to scripture comparisons. How ugly my pride can be when it comes to scriptural intelligence.

Then my Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit taught me about GRACE versus legalism in my heart and in Gal 3 and how the letter kills. My heart began to open wider to understand and let the HOLY SPIRIT speak in my spirit. I can’t get all bent out of shape arguing anymore about which version is right or wrong when HE IS IN CONTROL of everything. If I live in fear of evil, then I don’t believe my Father is my protector.

See it really doesn’t matter does it if we call Jesus, any one of His 100 names as found in the KJV. To me Master is no different than my Lord, or King. The thing is we call on Him what we need to call Him to have a real relationship with Him. I have one dear friend in the Dominican Republic who call her Jesus “Holmes”, while another calls the Father Poppi. So if my Jesus is the Master of my every thought, word and action of the Day, its been a good day for me. I must smell like Him, or my walk smells bad.

The real issues are that this EVIL TWISTED group of people that are creating an EVIL DENOMINATION OF CONFUSSION and that are trying to use God’s bible to accomplish that plan. Its just that simple.

What if we lived in a country were it was illegal to own a bible period? Just sayin…

Now my friend, I must get to studying. I am sure ms Geri we could be very good friends. If your ever in NYC, lets go get a cuppa Joe. Okay? (((hugs)))

Luke 21:8 comes to mind from the KJV, when the disciples asked Jesus about when the end will be & Jesus gives his answer:

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.”

Before Jesus even goes to describe these times, first thing he says is to take heed not to be deceived. It seems like a small statement, but deception is what has caused so many to not believe or to become apostate. To me, Jesus is trying to say that not being deceived is a requirement before you can even start understanding the signs of the end.

Being deceived for 20 years into believing there is no God, then spending the last 12 years of studying & testing the authority of scripture to see if it was really inspired of God & not just another one of the thousands of fables dreamed up by man’s prideful sense of knowledge (or lack thereof), I came to the conclusion that there is no book like this. Satan knows it too. Where Satan has power, Bibles are burned, confiscated, made illegal, etc. But where Satan does not have that kind of power, he has many deceivers to call upon to insert new revelations & meanings to verses to deceive those who will read it.

Now I am no expert theologian by the world’s standards, as I am just a simple IT Technician, heavily interested in science & how things work.

Is the Bible scientifically accurate? Read many of the articles at http://www.icr.org & judge these things yourself.

That’s how I first started to consider if this was a work of God’s inspiration & not man’s invention, as there is so much man cannot explain with their secular theories, but yet so much of the earth’s features can be explain if the earth was only thousands of years old & had experienced a global flood. I would know, I was taught evolution in public schools for 6+ years, yet this can be challenged with a few hours of reading when you stumble across things like “The Colorado River would have to flow uphill 4000 feet to be used to erode/create the Grand Canyon”, but the obvious question is “But rivers don’t flow uphill, so how can we believe a river climbed 4000 feet uphill?” & evidence of the Grand Canyon points to a busted natural dam caused by a massive amount of water (say a global flood).

God has also declared in Isaiah & elsewhere that he knows the end from the beginning & he would use his revealed knowledge of future events to prove that He is God & there is no other.

Isaiah 46:9-10 “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”

And after doing serious verse-by-verse studies of Daniel & Isaiah, I was astounded that the prophecies of God have been fulfilled with perfect accuracy! When you have a prophet like Isaiah who lived between 750BC-650BC, Isaiah claiming to speak on behalf of God & saying that a man named Cyrus would be used to judge Babylon for their pride in conquering Israel, you start to pay attention when Babylon becomes a super power after the death of Isaiah, Babylon attacks Israel & deports them for 70 years, & God sends a powerful man known as Cyrus of MedoPersia, sacking Babylon in the fashion described by Isaiah in 539BC! Or when you have Daniel, living between 610BC-520BC who also lived during the rise of Babylon & personally witnessing Cyrus taking Babylon, speaking of a vision he has in Daniel Chapter 11 in which 135 prophecies are stated in the first 35 verses, all coming to pass centuries after the life of Daniel with 100% accuracy. With that kind of record on Daniel, you would do well to take heed when Daniel starts talking about the AntiChrist in verse 36 even though it has not happened yet.

I suppose I will also state that it’s the above reasons that many liberal “scholars” attack Daniel & Isaiah, for they already settled in their hearts that there is no God, especially one who can foresee the future, so they invent many reasons for this, such as there being a 2nd Daniel or a fake Daniel writing around 160BC (though 70 scholars translated the Old Testament into Greek around 200BC & included the Book of Daniel) or that there must have been another Isaiah who lived after 539BC who “added” onto the writings of the Isaiah from ~700BC.

All in all, if the Bible proves scientifically right & has an inhuman track record of getting future events right with an absurdly high accuracy rating, is it not much of a step of faith when the same inspired writings state that:

“Those who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10)”

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4:5

“As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling stone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Romans 9:

“For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:11-13

Once again, if His word has proven true on past events, the smart thing would be to lay hold on that promise that believing upon Jesus is enough to be eternally saved from the penalty of sin simple because “the Bible says so”!

To me, it’s an easy choice, unless deception has gotten to you first & hardened your heart to the point where it has already resolved to NOT believe in God. In that case, which I have seen many times in my experience, this will not sway those who read it with hard hearts at all, for they have already put in their hearts that “No matter what I read, I already KNOW there is no God.” Do not harden your hearts on this, else the above will not be of any use to you at all….guess I should have put that as a disclaimer at the top!

Ojr – Before you made such a ludicrous and error filled statement you should have read the historically accurate page of dedication of the Holy Bible, King James Version –

This is a well written article. I agree with your all your points. The blog post I am sharing with you today was written several years go speaks of the danger of “The Message Bible” and how we must be careful in what we spiritually eat.
