The OWS bottom-feeders planning yet another attack against hard working Americans
Occupy Wall Street demonstrators, whose anti-greed message spread worldwide during an eight-week encampment in Lower Manhattan last year, plan marches across the globe tomorrow calling attention to what they say are abuses of power and wealth.
Organizers say they hope the coordinated events will mark a spring resurgence of the movement after a quiet winter. Calls for a general strike with no work, no school, no banking and no shopping have sprung up on websites in Toronto, Barcelona, London, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, among hundreds of cities in North America, Europe and Asia.
In New York, Occupy Wall Street will join scores of labor organizations observing May 1, traditionally recognized as International Workers’ Day. They plan marches from Union Square to Lower Manhattan and a “pop-up occupation” of Bryant Park on Sixth Avenue, across the street from Bank of America’s Corp.’s 55-story tower.
“We call upon people to refrain from shopping, walk out of class, take the day off of work and other creative forms of resistance disrupting the status quo,” organizers said in an April 26 e-mail.
Occupy groups across the U.S. have protested economic disparity, decrying high foreclosure and unemployment rates that hurt average Americans while bankers and financial executives received bonuses and taxpayer-funded bailouts. In the past six months, similar groups, using social media and other tools, have sprung up in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The Occupy movement in New York has relied on demonstrations and marches around the city since Nov. 15, when police ousted hundreds of protesters from their headquarters in Zuccotti Park near Wall Street, where they had camped since Sept. 17.
Banks have pooled resources and cooperated to gather intelligence after learning of plans to picket 99 institutions and companies, followed by what organizers have described as an 8 p.m. “radical after-party” in an undetermined Financial District location.
“If the banks anticipate outrage from everyday citizens, it’s revealing of their own guilt,” said Shane Patrick, a member of the Occupy Wall Street press team. “If they hadn’t been participating in maneuvers that sent the economy into the ditch, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.”
New York police can handle picketers, according to Paul Browne, the department’s chief spokesman. “We’re experienced at accommodating lawful protests and responding appropriately to anyone who engages in unlawful activity, and we’re prepared to do both,” he said in an interview.
About 2,100 Occupy Wall Street protesters in New York have been arrested since the demonstrations began, said Bill Dobbs, a member of the group’s media-relations team.
Organizers describe the May Day events as a coming together of the Occupy movement, with activists also calling for more open immigration laws, expanded labor rights and cheaper financing for higher education. Financial institutions remain a primary target of the protests.
“Four years after the financial crisis, not a single of the too-big-to-fail banks is smaller; in fact, they all continue to grow in size and risk,” the group’s press office said in an April 26 e-mail.
Planning Since January
Five banks — JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM), Bank of America, Citigroup Inc. (C), Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC), and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) together held $8.5 trillion in assets at the end of 2011, equal to 56 percent of the U.S. economy, compared with 43 percent in 2006, according to central bankers at the Federal Reserve.
Occupy Wall Street began planning for May Day in January, meeting in churches and union halls with a decision-making system that avoids a single leader. Instead, participants rely on group “break-out” sessions in which clusters discuss such tasks as crowd-building, logistics and communications.
About 150 attended an April 25 meeting at the Greenwich Village headquarters of the Amalgamated Clothing & Textile Workers Union, making last-minute preparations for how to deploy legal and medical help; site selection for picketing; purchasing, production and distribution of protest signs; and how to talk to reporters.
The meeting convened inside the union hall basement, where attendees arranged chairs in a circle as three facilitators asked each of the assembled to identify themselves by first name and gender — he, she or they. Most appeared under age 30, though gray-haired baby boomers also participated. One of the older attendees pulled a ski mask over his head to protest the presence of a photographer from Tokyo.
Tom Morello of the Grammy Award-winning rock band Rage Against the Machine along with 1,000 other guitar-playing musicians will accompany a march to Union Square at 2 p.m., according to the maydaynyc.org website. That will be followed by a “unity rally” at Union Square at 4 p.m.; a march from there to Wall Street at 5:30 p.m.; and a walk to a staging area for “evening actions,” which organizers at the April 25 meeting said would be the so-called after-party.
Golden Gate Bridge
Occupy-related events are planned in 115 cities throughout the U.S., from college towns such as Amherst, Massachusetts, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago and Philadelphia.
Across the bay in Oakland, protesters said they intend morning marches on banks and the Chamber of Commerce, followed by an afternoon rally and a march downtown.
“We’re looking forward to vigorously asserting our constitutional right to protest and giving a loud outcry about Wall Street and greed,” Dobbs said. “We’re hoping this will make a splash. We hope it will bring a lot of more people into the Occupy movement.” source – Bloomberg
Obama the Renegade
In case you missed it, the Obama Administration no longer follows the Constitution. Now the United States of America looks to the United Nations, NATO and ‘international approval’ to decide if we should engage in wars and other conflicts. Congress is now the last avenue we pursue. The Constitution has been fed into a paper shredder, and replaced with the ultra far-left liberal doctrine of Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and George Soros. Rules for radicals, indeed….
For all the conspiracy theorists out there who have been saying for decades that the day was coming when the United States would lay down it’s sovereignty to the United Nations, you are watching that happen. See for yourself in this video of a session of the US Armed Services Committee as Leon Panetta says over and over that the US now seeks it’s approval from the United Nations and NATO. Don’t take our word for it, watch the video hear it for yourself.
Obama promised when he ran for president in 2008 that he would ‘fundamentally transform’ the United States. What he didn’t tell you was that this ‘transformation’ would be at the expense of the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the freedom of the American people.
America, your country has been hijacked by those who hate it. It has been betrayed from the inside out. If you re-elect this man in 2012, then you deserve whatever happens after that. This is not about Red State vs. Blue State, or Liberal vs. Conservative. This is about the battle between good and evil. The country that beat back the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, and stopped Hitler from world domination is losing badly in it’s efforts to stop the Muslim-raised president from Indonesia. The puppet of George Soros has taken center stage.
America, this may well be your final hour. What will you do?
The fingerprint of George Soros
A paradigm shift has occured in America. Seemingly overnight, Eurpoean-style street riots and aggressive anarchy have become part of everyday life in cities all across the US. While a jobless ‘recovery’ slithers its way across the landscape, cracks have begun to appear in the once-invulnerable “Might of America’. We have become an entitlement society that no longer produces anything, but only consumes. Food stamp use is up 61% since Obama has occipied the Oval Office. Gas prices, which were $1.78 when he was sworn in, have now begun to pass $4.00 in many states. $5 – $6 dollar gas is predicted by summer. Who is the current dreamer of the ‘American dream’?
You don’t need to think hard or dig deep to uncover the answer. The current sorry state of America is the ‘American Dream’ as dreamnt of by George Soros, Saul Alinsky, William Ayers and your current President, the Muslim-raised and Indonesia-educated Barry Soetoro…A.KA. Barack Huessein Obama.
America, you went to the ballot box three years ago, and you bought what they had for sale. They promised you that America would be “radically transformed’, and so she is. From the burnt-out, abandonded main streets of Detroit, to the tent cities of the Southwest, America has been radically changed. Billions are given to bail out banks, while the homes of the Senior Citizens who have mortgages with those same banks are foreclosed on. The American Dream is turning into a third-world nightmare, and the worst part of it all is this. It is happening because you elected the very people who promised to do this. This is the “change” you shed tears of joy for. This is the worst generation…
…This is the end of America.
From KATU.com: PORTLAND, Ore. – Businesses in Northeast and Southeast Portland were damaged overnight and the vandals explained their actions in e-mails, police said.
The vandalism comes ahead of a planned Occupy Portland march and rally in Portland on Wednesday afternoon as part of the Shut Down the Corporations Day of Action. The event is also known as the F29 march and organizers said they will be focusing on corporations that are part of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
Police said at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, a U.S. Bank branch near S.E. Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard and S.E. Main Street had windows broken out and the ATM was damaged. Police said rocks were found inside and outside the building.
About four hours later at around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, police said they responded to reports of glass breaking at a Key Bank branch located at N.E. 38th and Broadway Street. Police said the suspects used rocks to break out the windows and damage an ATM machine there as well. Police searched the area and said they found no suspects. A Starbucks coffee shop on N.E. Sandy Boulevard near the Key Bank branch also had windows broken by rocks, police said.
Police said they received an e-mail that said it was from “Some Of Those Responsible” and read in part, “about an hour and a half ago (around ten pm, Tuesday night) a group of anticapitalists rolled up on the US Bank at SE 39th and Main and smashed out its windows and ATMs.”
The authors of the e-mail seemed to distance themselves from the Occupy Portland movement by saying “We don’t know whether this will be taken as solidarity or antagonism by the core of Occupy, but frankly that isn’t worth dwelling on for us. You said you wanted to help shut down corporations, and we helped to do that in our own way. Take it or leave it, we’re going to keep doing it.”
They closed with “good night, Occupy, and good luck tomorrow.” The full e-mail can be read here.
Police said a second e-mail was received after the Key Bank branch and Starbucks locations were vandalized, which read in part, “wherever capital chooses for its bunker, we will be there to attack it in the night.” It was signed “For freedom, for equality, for anarchy”. (Warning: this e-mail contains profanity)
According to the Portland Police Bureau, a permit has not been obtained for the planned Occupy Portland march and the route information has not been released. The rally is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at S.W. Naito Parkway and S.W. Ankeny Street, under the west side of the Burnside Bridge. A march is then planned for 1 p.m. Kari Koch with Occupy Portland said protest organizers did not apply for a permit because they do not want the targeted businesses to know they are coming.
Occupy Portland organizers said they intend for their march and rally Wednesday to be peaceful and light-hearted. Police said anyone with information about the vandalism can submit a tip to CrimeTips@PortlandOregon.gov. source – KATU.com
It traces the policies to groups such as the Alliance for American Manufacturing, a union-manufacturer partnership; the Soros-funded Campaign for America’s Future; and the Apollo Alliance, which is run by a who’s who of radicals.
On Obamacare, the “Red Army” documents how the legislation – deliberately masked by moderate, populist rhetoric – was carefully crafted and perfected over the course of decades. The book shows how the law is a direct product of laborious work by a coalition of radical groups and activists with socialist designs who seek to “reform” the U.S. health care industries, which account for a significant portion of the U.S. capitalist enterprise.
“Red Army” reveals the principal author of Obamacare, as well as how the legislation had its origins in an initiative openly associated with a slew of radical activists and groups. One is a group funded by Soros. A second is a terrorist-supporting, communist-hailing extremist. To top it off, another is a socialist activist who is the father of the U.S. single-payer movement.
Klein and Elliott first exposed President Obama’s “extremist ties” in their 2010 New York Times best-seller “The Manchurian President.”
Some other highlights from “Red Army”:
- The existence of a powerful “Marxist-socialist” bloc in Congress (explicitly formed as an arm of the Democratic Socialists of America) and how it is behind legislation in areas that affect all Americans, including the complete socialization of health care and comprehensive immigration reform, which, the book exposes, seeks to change the very nature of the American electorate.
- In two chapters that every American must read, entirely new information is laid bare on the left’s unprecedented assault on America’s already over-liberalized education system.
- The multipronged policy offensive aimed at disarming America by emboldening its enemies within and without, spurning traditional allies, subjecting the nation to the authority of foreign tribunals and systematically dismantling the U.S. military.
- How elements of the news media not only collude with these radical groups but are in some cases members of the very extremist organizations they ought to be investigating.
The power of darkness
“…but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.” Luke 22:53b
This is NOT ‘legimate protest’, and it is NOT ‘democracy’. This is ANARCHY fomented by the FAR LEFT RADICALS that are destroying this country and the world. What you are watching is the coming true of the long-held dream of Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, George Soros and Barack Obama that the free world would be reduced to a smoldering pile of ash and remade as a despotic, Socialist regime. These people are the ENEMY of freedom and of freedom-loving people.
“Demonstrators worldwide shouted their rage on Saturday against bankers and politicians they accuse of ruining economies and condemning millions to hardship through greed and bad government.
Galvanized by the Occupy Wall Street movement, the protests began in New Zealand, rippled round the world to Europe and were expected to return to their starting point in New York. Organizers hope to see non-violent demonstrations in 951 cities in Asia, Europe, South America and Africa in addition to every state in the United States.
Most rallies were however small and barely held up traffic. The biggest anticipated was in Rome, where organizers said they believed 100,000 would take part.
‘At the global level, we can’t carry on any more with public debt that wasn’t created by us but by thieving governments, corrupt banks and speculators who don’t give a damn about us,’ said Nicla Crippa, 49, who wore a T-shirt saying ‘enough’ as she arrived at the Rome protest.
‘They caused this international crisis and are still profiting from it, they should pay for it.’
The Rome protesters, including the unemployed, students and pensioners, planned to march through the centre, past the Colosseum and finish in Piazza San Giovanni. Some 2,000 police were on hand to keep the Rome demonstrators, who call themselves ‘the indignant ones’, peaceful and to avoid a repeat of the violence last year when students protesting over education policy clashed with police. As some 750 buses bearing protesters converged on the capital, students at Rome university warmed up with their own mini-demo on Saturday morning. source – Daily Mail UK
Soros and company dig in
Chanting ‘Hell no! We won’t go!’ hundreds of demonstrators stormed Wall Street today to confront New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, vowing to defend their encampment in Zuccotti Park for a 28th day.
As he dined at downtown’s posh Cipriani restaurant, having endorsed a 7am clean-up of the ‘unsanitary’ Occupy Wall Street encampment, protesters attempted to deliver the mayor a petition with 310,000 signatures supporting the their right to remain in the park. But the mayor refused to come out of the restaurant, instead making his exit out of a back door.
New York City officials earlier ordered Wall Street protesters to clear their sleeping bags and tarps from the park where they started a movement that has spread around the globe and forced CEOs and presidential candidates to take notice.
But demonstrators said they wouldn’t be going anywhere on Friday morning, setting the stage for a showdown with police. source – Daily Mail UK
Son of Perdition
(Reuters) – Anti-Wall Street protesters say the rich are getting richer while average Americans suffer, but the group that started it all may have benefited indirectly from the largesse of one of the world’s richest men.
There has been much speculation over who is financing the disparate protest, which has spread to cities across America and lasted nearly four weeks. One name that keeps coming up is investor George Soros, who in September debuted in the top 10 list of wealthiest Americans. Conservative critics contend the movement is a Trojan horse for a secret Soros agenda.
Soros and the protesters deny any connection. But Reuters did find indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada which started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring type uprising against Wall Street. Moreover, Soros and the protesters share some ideological ground.
“I can understand their sentiment,” Soros told reporters last week at the United Nations about the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, which are expected to spur solidarity marches globally on Saturday.
Pressed further for his views on the movement and the protesters, Soros refused to be drawn in. But conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh summed up the speculation when he told his listeners last week, “George Soros money is behind this.”
Soros, 81, is No. 7 on the Forbes 400 list with a fortune of $22 billion, which has ballooned in recent years as he deftly responded to financial market turmoil. He has pledged to give away all his wealth, half of it while he earns it and the rest when he dies.
Like the protesters, Soros is no fan of the 2008 bank bailouts and subsequent government purchase of the toxic sub-prime mortgage assets they amassed in the property bubble.
The protesters say the Wall Street bank bailouts in 2008 left banks enjoying huge profits while average Americans suffered under high unemployment and job insecurity with little help from Washington. They contend that the richest 1 percent of Americans have amassed vast fortunes while being taxed at a lower rate than most people.
BANKING LIFE SUPPORT
Soros in 2009 wrote in an editorial that the purchase of toxic bank assets would, “provide artificial life support for the banks at considerable expense to the taxpayer.”
He urged the Obama administration to take bolder action, either by recapitalizing or nationalizing the banks and forcing them to lend at attractive rates. His advice went unheeded.
The Hungarian-American was an early supporter of the 2008 election campaign of Barack Obama, who will seek a second term as president in the November, 2012, election. He has long backed liberal causes – the Open Society Institute, the foreign policy think tank Council on Foreign Relations and Human Rights Watch.
According to disclosure documents from 2007-2009, Soros’ Open Society gave grants of $3.5 million to the Tides Center, a San Francisco-based group that acts almost like a clearing house for other donors, directing their contributions to liberal non-profit groups. Among others the Tides Center has partnered with are the Ford Foundation and the Gates Foundation.
Disclosure documents also show Tides, which declined comment, gave Adbusters grants of $185,000 from 2001-2010, including nearly $26,000 between 2007-2009.
Aides to Soros say any connection is tenuous and that Soros has never heard of Adbusters. Soros himself declined comment.
The Vancouver-based group, which publishes a magazine and runs such campaigns as “Digital Detox Week” and “Buy Nothing Day,” says it wants to “change the way corporations wield power” and its goal is “to topple existing power structures.”
Adbusters, whose magazine has a circulation of 120,000 and which is known for its spoofs of popular advertisements, came up with the Occupy Wall Street idea after Arab Spring protests toppled governments in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, said Kalle Lasn, 69, Adbusters co-founder.
“It came out of these brainstorming sessions we have at Adbusters,” Lasn told Reuters, adding they began promoting it online on July 13. “We were inspired by what happened in Tunisia and Egypt and we had this feeling that America was ripe for a Tahrir moment.”
“We felt there was a real rage building up in America, and we thought that we would like to create a spark which would give expression for this rage.”
Lasn said Adbusters is 95 percent funded by subscribers paying for the magazine. “George Soros’s ideas are quite good, many of them. I wish he would give Adbusters some money, we sorely need it,” he said. “He’s never given us a penny.”
Other support for Occupy Wall Street has come from online funding website Kickstarter, where more than $75,000 has been pledged, deliveries of food and from cash dropped in a bucket at the park. Liberal film maker Michael Moore has also pledged to donate money.
The protests began in earnest on September 17, triggered by an Adbusters campaign featuring a provocative poster showing a ballerina dancing atop the famous bronze bull in New York’s financial district as a crowd of protesters wearing gas masks approach behind her.
Dressed in anarchist black, the battle-ready mob is shrouded in a fog suggestive of tear gas or fires burning. Some are wearing gas masks, others wielding sticks. The poster’s message seems to be a heady combination of sexuality, violence, excitement and adventure.
Former carpenter Robert Daros, 23, saw that poster in a cafe in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Having lost his work as a carpenter after Florida’s speculative construction boom collapsed in a heap of sub-prime mortgage foreclosures, he quit his job as a bartender and traveled to New York City with just a sleeping bag and the hope of joining the protest movement.
Daros was one of the first people to arrive on Wall Street for the so-called occupation on September 17, when protesters marched and tried to camp on Wall Street only to be driven off by police to Zuccotti Park – two acres of concrete without a blade of grass near the rising One World Trade Center.
“When I was a carpenter, I lost my job because the financier of my project was arrested for corporate fraud,” said Daros, who was wearing a red arm band to show he was helping out in the medic section of the Occupy Wall Street camp.
Since its obscure beginnings, the campaign has drawn global media attention in places as far-flung as Iran and China. The Times of London, however, was not alone when it called the protests “Passionate but Pointless.”
Adbusters’ co-founder Lasn dismisses that, reeling off specific demands: a tax on the richest 1 percent, a tax on currency trades and a tax on all financial transactions.
“Down the road, there will be crystal clear demands coming out of this movement,” he said. “But this first phase of the movement is messy and leaderless and demandless.”
