The word ‘optimal’ was first used by Stewart in the question. But Obama’s use of it, in a sound bite that could be used to portray him as somewhat casual about the deaths, lit up conservatives on Twitter after it was first reported in a White House pool report by Mike Memoli of the ‘Los Angeles Times’.

Obama Admin Finally Forced To Admit 9/11 Attack In Libya Was Muslim Terrorism

The Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was in fact “a terrorist attack” and the U.S. government has indications that members of al Qaeda were directly involved, a top Obama administration official said Wednesday morning.
Obama once said in that the “sweetest sound I’ve ever heard is the Muslim call to prayer.” He says he’s a “christian”…I wonder what book of the bible he got that idea from?
“I would say yes, they were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy,” Matt Olsen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said Wednesday at a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, in response to questioning from Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-CT) about the attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
As for who was responsible, Olsen said it appears there were attackers from a number of different militant groups that operate in and around Benghazi, and said there are already signs of al Qaeda involvement.
“We are looking at indications that individuals involved in the attack may have had connections to al Qaeda or al Qaeda’s affiliates; in particular, al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb,” he said.
The U.S. government just isn’t sure yet whether the terrorist attack was pre-planned or whether it was an example of terrorists taking advantage of protests against an anti-Islam film, Olsen said.
“It appears that individuals who were certainly well-armed seized on the opportunity presented as the events unfolded that evening and into the morning hours of September 12th. We do know that a number of militants in the area, as I mentioned, are well-armed and maintain those arms. What we don’t have at this point is specific intelligence that there was a significant advanced planning or coordination for this attack,” he said.
His statements go further than those of the White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, who said last week that the protests in Cairo and Benghazi were a reaction to the video and not a pre-planned attack. Today, Carney didn’t repeat the assertion that the video was solely to blame, but he said again that there is no evidence the Benghazi attack was pre-planned.
“What I can tell you is that, as I said last week, as … our ambassador to the United Nations said on Sunday and as I said the other day, based on what we know now and knew at the time, we have no evidence of a preplanned or premeditated attack,” Carney said Wednesday. “It is a simple fact that there are in post-revolution, post-war Libya armed groups; there are bad actors hostile to the government, hostile to the West, hostile to the United States. And as has been the case in other countries in the region, it is certainly conceivable that these groups take advantage of and exploit situations that develop, when they develop, to protest against or attack either Westerners, Americans, Western sites, or American sites.”
Committee ranking Republican Susan Collins (R-ME) declared at the hearing that she believes the attacks were planned well in advance and she referenced information she had received from U.S. intelligence officials behind closed doors.
“First, I will tell you that based on the briefings I have had, I’ve come to the opposite conclusion and agree with the president of Libya that this was a premeditated, planned attack that was associated with the date of 9/11, the anniversary of 9/11,” she said. “I just don’t think that people come to protests equipped with RPGs and other heavy weapons. And the reports of complicity — and they are many — with the Libyan guards who were assigned to guard the consulate also suggest to me that this was premeditated.”
Collins said she was concerned by the lack of security at the Benghazi consulate, especially since there had been an attack on the mission in June and a more serious attack on the British ambassador’s convoy as well. Olsen said the U.S. government was aware of the danger but not of impending attack that killed the four Americans.
“So there were reports detailing those attacks and detailing generally the threat that was faced to U.S. and Western individuals and interests in Eastern Libya from, again, armed militants as well as elements connected to al Qaeda,” he said. “There was no specific intelligence regarding an imminent attack prior to September 11th on our post in Benghazi.” source – Foreign Policy
Hundreds Of Muslim Rioters Reach Jerusalem

Riots by Muslims that began on September 11, 2012, have reached Jerusalem, where demonstrations were held after Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa mosque in the Old City.
The protests began peacefully with several hundred people demonstrating on the plaza that holds both the Al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock mosques, chanting, “With our blood and our soul, we will sacrifice for you our Prophet.”
Riots in Gaza over the film Innocence Of Muslims has spilled over to Jerusalem today.
But clashes broke out between a part of the crowd and Israeli police as the demonstration moved out of the Old City, with security forces firing tear gas and stun grenades that injured at least five people, an AFP correspondent said. Several policemen were reportedly hurt.
“Israel police are dispersing rioters at Damascus Gate, rocks and stones are being thrown at them,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP.
An AFP correspondent at the scene said demonstrators appeared to be trying to head to U.S. diplomatic premises in east Jerusalem, with Israeli police, some on horseback, seeking to prevent the protest from moving.
In Gaza, thousands of people rallied at demonstrations in Gaza City and the southern town of Rafah, a day after the ruling Hamas party urged citizens to turn out for protests after Friday prayers.
Protesters waved the flags of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, and set fire to American flags, chanting “Death, death to America, death, death to Israel.”
Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh, in a sermon during Friday prayers, repeated a call on Washington to apologize for the film, produced in the United States.
“The US administration should apologize to the Arab and Islamic nation for this offensive film and bring these criminals to justice,” he said.
Haniyeh said the film was the result of “a Jewish-American-Crusader alliance to ignite a war on Islam and sectarian strife, particularly in Egypt.”
The amateur production called “Innocence of Muslims,” which was virtually unheard of before this week, has sparked violent protests across the Middle East.

The US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three staff members at the US consulate in Benghazi were deliberately murdered Tuesday night Sept 11 just after memorial ceremonies were held in America for the victims of the 9/11 outrage.
Ayman al-Zawahiri ordered yesterday’s attack on the US Consulate in Libya that killed 4 Americans.
DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources report exclusively that far from being a spontaneous raid by angry Islamists, it was a professionally executed terrorist operation by a professional Al Qaeda assassination team, whose 20 members acted under the orders of their leader Ayman al Zawahri after special training.
They were all Libyans, freed last year from prisons where they were serving sentences for terrorism passed during the late Muammar Qaddafi’s rule.
In a video tape released a few hours before the attack, Zawahri called on the faithful to take revenge on the United States for liquidating one of the organization’s top operatives, Libyan-born Abu Yahya al-Libi in June by a US drone in northwestern Pakistan.
Its release was the “go” signal for the hit team to attack the US diplomats in Benghazi. To mask their mission, they stormed the consulate on the back of a violent protest by hundreds of Islamists against a film said to insult Prophet Muhammed produced by a Florida real estate agent called Sam Bacile, who has been described as of Israeli origin.
“Absolutely, I have no doubt about it. It was a coordinated, military-style, commando-type raid,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers told Fox News. Based on his own briefings, Rogers said “military movements” were involved. – NY Post
The operation is rated by terror experts as the most ambitious outrage al Qaeda has pulled off in the last decade. According to our sources, the gunmen split into two groups of 10 each and struck in two stages:
1. They first fired rockets at the consulate building on the assumption that the ambassador’s bodyguards would grab him, race him out of the building and drive him to a safe place under the protection of the US secret service;
2. The second group was able to identify the getaway vehicle and the ambassador’s armed escort and lay in wait to ambush them. The gunmen then closed in and killed the ambassador and his bodyguards at point blank range.

Muslim Terrorists Kill US Ambassador And 2 Marines In Libya Terror Attack

The American ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff were killed in a rocket attack after an armed mob protesting at a ‘blasphemous’ film about the Prophet Mohammed set fire to the consulate in Benghazi.

Christopher Stevens, 52, was at the compound evacuating staff when the building was attacked by militants who shot dead Sean Smith, a foreign service information management officer.
In the subsequent chaos, the diplomat and his team made a desperate bid to flee by car to safety. But the vehicle came under heavy arms fire and was hit by a rocket, leaving it disabled and at the mercy of the mob.
Two marines attempted to aid Ambassador Stevens but were shot dead, according to CBS
Graphic images taken at the scene show civilians making desperate attempts to pull the diplomat to safety. But their efforts were futile. Arab television station Al Jazeera today reported that Ambassador Stevens died of smoke inhalation.

Ambassador Stevens was a career diplomat who spoke Arabic and French and had already served two tours in Libya, including running the office in Benghazi during the revolt against Gaddafi. Five other US ambassadors have been killed in the line of duty, the last being Adolph Dubs in Afghanistan in 1979.
President Barack Obama today condemned the attack and paid tribute to the late Ambassador Stevens as he ordered increased security at diplomatic posts around the world.

‘Chris was a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States,’ he said.
‘Throughout the Libya revolution, he selflessly served our country and the Libyan people at our mission in Benghazi.
‘As Ambassador in Tripoli, he has supported Libya’s transition to democracy. His legacy will endure wherever human beings reach for liberty and justice. I am profoundly grateful for his service to my Administration, and deeply saddened by this loss.’
It is understood that two US security personnel and a fourth man, also a US citizen, died in the attack.
The deaths will put huge pressure on the Libyan administration which took over after the fall of Muammar Gaddafi. Despite the West taking a key role in his overthrow, the country remains unstable and Islamic militants have moved into the power vacuum.
There are also huge questions about the security surrounding both Ambassador Stevens and the US diplomatic buildings in such a volatile country.
The violence in Libya – and an earlier assault by 2,000 people on the US embassy in the Egyptian capital Cairo – were sparked by a 14-minute trailer for a film called The Innocence of Muslims posted on YouTube.
In an original English version and another dubbed into Egyptian Arabic, Mohammed is depicted as a fraud, a womaniser and a madman, showing him having sex and calling for massacres.
It was made by Sam Bacile, a 56-year-old California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew. He said he had produced, directed and written the two-hour film which had only been shown once to a mostly empty theater in Hollywood earlier this year.
‘Islam is a cancer, period,’ he said in an interview yesterday, speaking after the State Department confirmed the death of an American in Benghazi.
He was apologetic about the killing but blamed lax embassy security and the perpetrators of the violence. ‘I feel the security system (at the embassies) is no good,’ said Bacile. ‘America should do something to change it.’
Mr Bacile claimed he did not know who had dubbed the film into Arabic. He went into hiding after the full scale of the the trouble in North Africa became clear.
Yesterday, Morris Sadek, an Egyptian-born Christian in the U.S. known for his anti-Islam views, told The Associated Press from Washington that he was promoting the video on his website and on certain TV stations, which he did not identify.
The film has featured on Egyptian media reports for several days with ultraconservative clerics going on air to denounce it and also to attack Sadek, who they blamed for the film.
Matters came to a head yesterday when hundreds of mainly ultraconservative Islamist protesters in Egypt marched to the US Embassy in downtown Cairo, gathering outside its walls and chanting against the movie and the US.
Most of the embassy staff had left the compound earlier because of warnings of the upcoming demonstration.
The crowd chanted, ‘Islamic, Islamic. The right of our prophet will not die.’ Some shouted, ‘We are all Osama,’ referring to al-Qaida leader bin Laden.
Young men, some in masks, sprayed graffiti on the walls. Some grumbled that Islamist President Mohammed Morsi had not spoken out about the movie.
A group of women in black veils and robes that left only their eyes exposed chanted, ‘Worshippers of the Cross, leave the Prophet Mohammed alone.’
Dozens of protesters then scaled the embassy walls, and several went into the courtyard and took down the American flag from a pole. They brought it back to the crowd outside, which tried to burn it, but failing that tore it apart.
The protesters on the wall then raised on the flagpole a black flag with a Muslim declaration of faith, ‘There is no god but God and Mohammed is his prophet.’ The flag is commonly used by ultraconservatives around the region.
The Cairo embassy is in a diplomatic area in Garden City, where the British and Italian embassies are located, only a few blocks away from Tahrir Square, the center of last year’s uprising that led to the ouster of Mubarak.
The U.S. Embassy is built like a fortress, with a wall several metres high. But security has been scaled back in recent months, with several roadblocks leading to the facility removed after legal court cases by residents.
Trouble quickly spread to Libya where a group identifiying itself as the ‘Islamic Law Supporters’ attacked the consulate on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on American in protest at a film that they deemed blasphemous to the Prophet Mohammed.
A furious mob fired gunshots and then set the building alight as they clashed with Libyans hired to guard the facility. Outnumbered by the crowd, Libyan security forces did little to stop them, al-Sharef said.
Witnesses reported militants firing rocket-propelled grenades from a nearby farmhouse.
The situation rapidly deteriorated as the army tried to cordon off the area around the building and fought running battles with the attackers. But the crowd overwhelmed the facility, looting the contents.
‘I heard nearly 10 explosions and all kinds of weapons. It was a terrifying day,’ said a witness who refused to give his name because he feared retribution.
Order was eventually restored after three hours but there was very little of the consulate left. Last night, the US confirmed that a state department officer had been killed last night with US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton strongly condemning the attack.
She said she had called Libyan President Mohammed el-Megarif ‘to coordinate additional support to protect Americans in Libya.’
‘Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet,’ Clinton said in a statement released by the State Department.
‘The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind.’
It was some hours later that it emerged Ambassador Stevens and three of his team had been killed.

This year, the anniversary of 9/11 was unlike all the others since the towers fell in 2001. A message was sent today to the American people, and sealed in the blood of dead and wounded Americans.
America, this is your president. He is SILENT as Muslims attack us, as he bows to Islamic rulers and kings.
For today, Muslim terrorists celebrated the anniversary of 9/11 by laying siege to the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt, and the American consulate in Libya. In the attack in Libya, Americans were killed and seriously injured.
What was Obama’s reply/response today in the face of these twin Muslim terror attacks on America overseas? Nothing. Not one word.
I believe that the debates on whether or not Obama was born in Hawaii or Indonesia, the debates on why he spent millions to seal his college records, the debates on his association with domestic terrorists like Bill Ayers are besides the point. And the point being this: that as president of America he has done a horrible job.
Americans were killed and wounded TODAY – September 11, 2012 – in Libya by Muslim terrorists.
That he has shown time and time again that his main sympathies lie with the Muslim people. And that he has no intention of standing by Israel to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. These things are verifiable facts, played out in the headlines day after day, after day.
Netanyahu To Obama: ‘Wait For What? Wait Until When?’
From CBS WASHINGTON: (CBSDC/AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making it clear that Israel will not wait to take out Iranian nuclear facilities. In heated comments toward the United States, the Israeli prime minister said that it’s becoming clear that diplomacy will not work with Iran.
“The world tells Israel, `Wait. There’s still time,’” Netanyahu said Tuesday, according to The Associated Press. “And I say: `Wait for what? Wait until when?’ Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don’t have a moral right to place a red light before Israel.”
The Obama administration has consistently stated that they don’t want to go the military route against Iran and give more time for the sanctions to force Tehran to give up its nuclear ambitions. Israel must go it alone
PM Benjamin Netanyahu realizes now that while America is still with Israel, our president is not. He realizes that, perhaps too late, that Obama is doing everything within his power to stall, stall, and stall Israel from striking Iran so that Iran has the time and space it needs to finish building it’s nuclear arsenal.
Iran, at the time of this writing, is a mere 5 or 6 weeks away from finishing producing the necessary materials for a fully-functional nuclear warhead. Russia has been supplying them with the weapons, technology and scientists needed to make this a reality. The process is almost complete.
Mr. Prime Minister, our beloved Bibi, your time is short. Very short. Pray to the Holy One of Israel to lead you and guide you to do what you know you must do for the good of the nation of Israel. Hawaii State Senate Passes Resolution Declaring September 24 ‘Islam Day’

Is it just us, or did you also not know that back in 2009, the State Senate of Hawaii overwhelmingly passed a bill to recognize September 24th as Islam Day?? Well, they did….

The Senate’s two Republicans argued that a minority of Islamic extremists have killed many innocents in terrorist attacks.
“I recall radical Islamists around the world cheering the horrors of 9/11. That is the day all civilized people of all religions should remember,” said Republican Sen. Fred Hemmings to the applause of more than 100 people gathered in the Senate to oppose a separate issue — same-sex civil unions.
The resolution to proclaim Sept. 24, 2009, as Islam Day passed the Senate on a 22-3 vote. It had previously passed the House and now goes to Republican Gov. Linda Lingle.
Republican Sen. Sam Slom argued that the United States has become too sympathetic toward Islamic extremists.
“I don’t think there’s any country in the history of the world that has been more tolerant than the United States of America, and because of that tolerance, we’ve looked the other way a lot of times, and many thousands of our citizens have been killed by terrorists,” said Slom, a Republican.
The lone Democrat voting against the bill opposed it on church-state separation fears. source – Fox News
