Killing of a fellow citizen is neither manslaughter nor murder, if there is a law that permits it legally – a very convenient governing tool? Remember: holocaust by the nazis was perfectly legal, because of german laws. The question is: if the king or sheik that instated the punitive laws is long gone and dead, should the laws finally be amended, to break the compounding effect of legally endorsed atrocities over the turns of centuries. The common with these laws used for imprisonment, mutilation or killing — they are all victimless crimes. The only way to rid the world of these kind of cumulative picks of past oppressive rulers — would be to burn ever book that has the copy of the law text, or allow interpretation of such ancient laws.
