Problem, there is no such thing as a 2 stage 2nd advent, that leaves future Christians behind. The 1st half of the 2nd advent is falsely called the ‘coming’ of the Lord, the ‘rapture’ & the 2nd half, the ‘Glorious Appearing. Appears, appearing, comes, coming, returns…all can be used interchangeably without distorting the meaning of the verse.
I get a chuckle from some PTR teachers. They say The Blessed Hope is the rapture. Some also say the pre-trib rapture can be found when the Word says ‘coming’. The verse in Titus says, KJV,
Titus 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
One of their key verses says ‘glorious appearing’ which is supposed to be, according to some of the PTR books I’ve read, is when He comes to judge, after He came at the PTR to ‘rescue the Church’. Bit of a contradiction there I’d say.
The pre-trib rapture is a false doctrine designed to set up Christians for the mark. “If they lied to you about the rapture, what else did they lie about?” the people who are trying to talk Christians into taking the mark will say, or something similar as they attempt to entice unwise, ill prepared ‘virgins’ to forsake their allegiance to Christ & go with the AC beast system.
From Heb. 5:6-7, Amplified,
…if they then deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance—[it is impossible] to bring them back to repentance,… [PLEASE! Read the whole chapter in the Amplified. Go to BibleGateWay.com if needed.]
Rev. 14, Amplified,
9 Then another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a mighty voice, Whoever pays homage to the beast and his statue and permits the [beast’s] stamp (mark, inscription) to be put on his forehead or on his hand,
10 He too shall [have to] drink of the wine of God’s indignation and wrath,
Note that there is no distinction/exceptiopn in the word “whoever” that makes it OK for Christians to take the mark.
I think the PTR causes many Christians to breath a sigh of relief as they are deceived into thinking they don’t have to worry about it. Worry is out. Preparation & faith MUST be in. Our relationship with Father MUST be strong & unshakeable. We must ALL be ready to reject satan’s ploy as he seeks to exalt his throne over that of the Almighty.
Read Heb. 12:26-28 in the Amplified.
Yeshua Himself said of the believer’s resurrection “I will raise them all up at the last day.” He repeated that 3 or 4 times.
In Jesus’ explanation of the parable of the wheat & darnel [tares in KJV] He tells us the harvest is the end of the age. Before that He said to those who would pull the false wheat to let them GROW TOGETHER until harvest.
The bottom line is that we don’t need a pre-trib rapture, we need a strong pre-trib relationship with Father, His Son & the Holy Spirit. We MUST know His word, not what men say it means. If we are living in Messiah, as outlined in Ps. 91, & elsewhere, we don’t have to worry.
Re-read Heb. 11
Read Acts. Poppa can open prison doors. He can allow the dead to be brought back to life. He is able to keep us. Read what Paul told Timothy about Paul’s being delivered to Father’s heavenly kingdom then remember how Paul got there. Paul was killed.
Look up what Corrie Ten Boom says about the PTR.
The PTR is totally based on eisegesis. It has to be. There is not one Bible verse that on it’s face backs up a 2 stage divided by 7 years 2nd advent that leaves future believers behind. To ‘prove’ the PTR meaning has to be laid ON the verses used or extra meaning added.
Example:
I Thess. only says we will “ever be with the Lord” when Jesus comes. It does NOT say where. That He takes us to heaven is NOT directly stated so the ‘He takes us to heaven’ part, using eisegesis & man’s assumptive self preserving logic, is said to be fact.
Look up eisegesis compared to exegesis.
Father rarely leads His children down a path of least resistance. For the only Direct NT definition of ‘escape’, I Cor. 10:13, note that the verse does not say He flies us over any thing but makes us able to bear up under it, go through & come to a landing place.
Read the Amplified Bible for that one. You can go to BibleGateWay.com if you don’t have a copy.
I can’t find the PTR article that had comments. Has NTEB changed or am I not looking in the right place? I had a few comments there & am looking for replies or new comments.
Thanks.
